I went to get my Real ID, had all my paperwork, the lady was yelling at me to take everything out of the envelope, that I was holding up the line. Then, she started looking at everything, rolling her eyes, asked me why my name was not on my marriage license the way it was on my birth certificate? Ugh, I wasn't married when I was born. She then yelled at me to get my name fixed or they wouldn't help me. I literally was appalled that I had to call vital records, and pay money to fix my name, when they were like, but that wasn't your name. I explained that the employees at the BMV were not going to give me my Real ID until I got it fixed. She actually fixed it for me after spending all that money, and I took my paperwork back, and the same girl said she wasn't going to fix itt because, why is my name the same as my birth certificate and my marriage license?? Ugh, because you told me to do that! She ended up saying I am not going to help you. I had to fly to my home state and fix it there in order to get my Real ID. TIME IS RUNNING OUT! You need to get the real ID to fly. These employees are a joke! I would be embarrassed to say I work there. I remember one of their names, Nicki, the others, I do not remember, and dont care to.

This location, while not in the best area, has always been an easy experience for me. I generally come in the early afternoon. This way, you can beat the late afternoon rush, before they close. I've never had to wait very long and the staff has always been friendly. Pro tip - Smile, ask how the person helping you is doing that day, and have all your paperwork! They don't exactly get to have the best interactions with their customers and being nice and prepared can go a long way! I usually head here for issues with my car title. I've had to get a new one issued and once, an out of state title switched to Ohio, blah, blah, blah. If you need a new license, plates, or anything, you can walk or drive two seconds through the shopping complex and get what you need at the license agency. It's a little confusing but they offer different services and sometimes a trip to both is in order. That's why I head to this area, because you can hit up both if need be.

I've had bad experiences with rude BMV workers in the past, and so I begrudgingly went in to wait my turn to be abused. Man, was I pleasantly surprised! I was the fifth person in line, but it moved quickly because they had a staff member at each counter station. The clerk that waited on me (Allie) was so nice, and she and I were laughing about the process and the questions she had to ask: I wanted to change my hair color from brown to silver (it's actually both colors), but the only choices offered were either 'gray' or 'white.' Allie then said, 'but an option for eye color is 'pink!' My photo was predictably horrible...but that's on me and not their fault. It took just a couple of minutes to get my brand new 'mug shot,' and I was out the door. I imagine that their jobs are soul-crushingly boring, processing the same paperwork hour after hour day after day, but Allie made my visit pleasant rather than agonizing. It was my first time doing business at this location, but it is now the only BMV that I'll go to in the future.

Tell them when you get there, they text you to wait in the car and then when to come in. When I started it said the wait was 45 minutes; total was probably a little less than that, so don't check in super early. Waited inside for 15 or so after they texted to come in. Clerk was friendly and patient. Pretty much like getting a license: some questions, you sign and the kid signs, then gets a picture. A week or two later it will come in the mail. Not bad, and not a horrible wait or experience as far as these things go.

BMV location - Franklin County DR #2586 is located at 112 Dillmont Dr., Columbus, Ohio off US-23 North in a nice strip mall plaza above I-270 (outer-belt) and near Lazelle Rd. This location has also been known as the Worthington License Agency though it's above Worthington and probably closer to Lewis Center. All kinds of food options in the area and close to Polaris if you want to grab some food and do some shopping too.

I thought my service was fast and friendly but it seems like this location is always packed and feel for the staff that is likely running nonstop from the minute they open their doors. The county needs to set up another location nearby to help alleviate the backup here because I don't foresee anyone being seen for at least 30 minutes if you come anytime in the afternoon. In the same building as the title bureau and assorted Union County offices, this small BMV office…read morehas longer lines than the title place but is still faster and friendlier than most. There is a side door in the large Union County building for easy access to the BMV and title office; go around to the right and look for the door. Take a number, wait a few minutes, and do your business. I was renewing one set and getting historical plates for another car; it would have taken about 15 minutes total except that they had a computer issue. Still, half an hour is about normal for a BMV. Service was friendly and helpful. It's a nice enough place to wait, with 20 or so chairs and a TV.
