Well I got to the point I was no longer able to continue paying the monthly payment plan, so I my liscene of course gotten suspended I believe and I do know now I have to pay or get back on the reimbursement payment plan to get them back. I renewed my registration with my married name and the documents came in my maiden name. I had this all changed in person years ago. I called to get this recitifed and they said they couldn't send an updated registration unless I paid $9 for a duplicate request. I never would have renewed my registration in my maiden name. My maiden name doesn't show up on their website. I just want an accurate registration that I already paid for when renewing. They said the police shouldn't give me an issue if Id get pulled over with differing names on my license and registration. Completely ridiculous read more

All DMVs are like preview purgatory, but I have COVID advice for this one: if you are going to the TITLE OFFICE, you must have an appointment online and it is next door to the BMV. If you are going to the BMV, you must wait in line, digitally or in person, and allot at least an hour. The line is outdoors. They do not have appointments for the BMV unless you are getting a driving test. DOUBLE CHECK your paperwork! If you forget something and are very y nice, they may let you run home and grab the paperwork without losing your spot, but don't depend on it! Time to write this while I wait for my turn. It's a big facility. Testing is done at another entrance farther down the building. The other part is for all things paper or plastic. Renewing drivers license or tags is necessary. It may appear to be large, but they are also generating 4X the customer service windows as the smaller branches. It's a machine. For those that roll their eyes at the letters BMV, it was probably you that created a bad prior visit. Online website will list everything you need prior to arriving. Be prepared and it will be a short visit. I found the staff friendly and helpful. I was first here yesterday to discover the State does not test on Mondays. Also the State license system was temporarily down. Back now on Tuesday, and testing is quick and smooth. Down to the other entrance for a new license, and the system is down. It was 2hrs yesterday. I hung out, and it was up 30min later. In less than 30, I had new DL and new plate sticker. 15% of those waiting, are just "with" someone, or quickly dismissed at the counter for not having ALL materials. This facility does now take credit cards for a percentage fee. There is an ATM in the corner to take a fee. Bring cash or prepare to pay extra. Be prepared! Have all documents, cash, and time in your day. read more

I can't even believe what the lady at the BMV said to me. Her name was Roberta and she was the most rudest person I've met. She questioned to why I moved to Ohio for my husband, when I said for love her reply was disgusting. She pointed out I've gained weight since I last got my last DL. She even made me put down that I'm blonde on my DL even tho I'm red and black hair (cause that's my natural hair colour which i haven't seen in 20 years) she even didn't believe my social security number and said it was fake. When it's not. Then continued to say I'm not a resident of the country even tho I am. On a 10 year visa and just issued me with a temporary DL. Still made me pay. The rudest woman. Ok, the BMV is never a good experience. It always feels line you are in a dystopian movie. I think that comes with the territory. But as far as they go, I think this one is really good. The lines are relatively quick, it's clean, and the people are genuinely trying to help you. They are polite and trying their best to help you. I was helped by Sam, and a woman (who's name starts with T, I forget her name D:) and they were both so kind and helpful. Unfortunately, I need to come back, and I can't say I'm looking forward to it. But I'm glad they are making the process as untorturous as possible. read more

I came here initially today to handle my husband's driver's license issue but the issue got resolved 4 hours later. Let's not worry about the time folks, it was not this locations fault what so ever. What was the issue was my car was hit today at this location and it was by someone who needed to go to the BMV for something. Instead of checking if I was in the vehicle, the driver took off and I'm wondering where the heck he went and thinking, please don't be a hit and run situation. I come back an hour later since I had a very busy appointment I had to be at down the road to find out the guy did release his information to the officer and actually felt bad he hit my car. I was happy because the officer tried to calm me down after having such a rough day here and not to mention it is my anniversary so no pleasant thoughts are going through my head yet. After the officer calmed me down, he took my information and built the case file. He also got a hold of the driver who hit me to get his information. Thank god, I have someone covering my big dent on my car. Had an officer not taken the guys information, I would have had no information on the truck that hit me. I would have appreciated for the gentlemen, to clearly get out of his vehicle and check if I was inside the car instead of assuming no one was in the vehicle. As for the service I received it was great, from the time I came in to present the damage on my vehicle to getting the guys information. I also thought the reinstatement's office customer service was good as they clearly handled my husbands situation for him. read more

My entire life I've dreaded going to the BMV. Not anymore. This location has kind, polite, courteous staff members. From my daughter taking her temps test all the way through getting her license, we only came across nice employees who took their time to listen and explain. And as I sat waiting for my daughter, I only heard others being treated kindly as well. The wait was never bad either. Highly recommend. read more

Overall the place is a regular bmv, your going to have to clear your schedule before coming in. The only problem I have is the girl who does the drivers test. Shes a short pretty black girl but she acts like she hates her job. It was my first time taking it so I was nervous and she just made it worse tbh. The State of California could learn a thing or two from Ohio's BMV. I am always impressed by the courtesy that the staff at the BMV shows to their customers, and this office is no exception. Here, the Deputy Registrar License Agency, Driver License Examination Station, County Clerk of Courts Title Office, and Regional Driver License Reinstatement Office are all in the same complex, so those who are new to the state can take the written driver's exam, get their new license, re-title their car, and purchase new plates all in one place. From the front desk receptionist to each agent that I encountered during the processing, everyone was polite, informative, and didn't have that look of death that so many CA DMV employees have. All together, I was at BMV for just over an hour, and my fees totaled less than $100. read more

So - my rating scale thought process goes from 5 stars (there isn't any better place to be!) to 1 star (I got food poisoning). Frankly, I'd rather have food poisoning than go to this BMV location - but I've got to bump it up to two stars simply because they now do testing at the location, which makes it a really convenient option for the Eastside. The organization here is... well, terrible. I like the "concierge" when you walk in the door... that's helpful... but from there it's all down hill. The number system is antiquated - and why, for the life of me, they don't use the more advanced number system that is obviously installed where an automated system signals what window to go to... is beyond me. It's next to impossible to figure out where to go for the written test, versus the driving test, versus fingerprinting... etc. Most upsetting is their system of allowing "returns". I don't understand how the heck you get a "return" but basically, I assume it's someone who had a number, was told to go somewhere else, and is now back. They get head-of-line privileges which is frankly... annoying as crap. My last visit to this palace of sadness was on a Friday morning at about 9am. The number I was given was 35 higher than the number showing on the board. I knew I was screwed. Four windows were manned to help the flood of people waiting for whatever their BMVy needs were. I knew I was in for a wait... but 2.5 hours wasn't really expected. The amount of "returns" was ridiculous, especially considering that I know many of them arrived AFTER I did. You know, this is ending up to be too long of a review... I am just exhausted from writing it and really feel like I am investing too much time into it. It's the BMV... so we know that customer service isn't close to being a priority and that good organization of a government office isn't even a thought that anyone bothers to care about. I'll end with this... I am not sure who looks more miserable... the people waiting or the people behind the counters. Both look like they'd rather have food poisoning than be there. read more

BMV's a BMV. No one wants to be there. Look in the waiting room, it's like the life is sucked out of each patron by a dementor. At least the employees are courteous and quick, understanding that we'd all rather be somewhere else. i recently moved to michigan and needed to fill out some paperwork with ohio to get duplicate titles so i could transfer. i interacted with steve on the online chat. he gave me a nice detailed answer on the process, but when i asked a clarifying question - instead of answering my question - he shot back "its in my answer". then he quickly moved to end the chat. i only wanted clarification on what is the specific address to send the paperwork to, becauase there are so many. i get all dmv's are terrible, and never great. but come on, don't offer online chat unless you can adequately train your people on how to offer a base line of common respect and decency. i'm sure steve is a nice guy at home, but come on man - do better read more

08/21/2015 Just moved back to civilization one week before my birthday. I needed to get my car inspected, change the title, get plates and get a new license. I got AMAZING customer service from everyone. (Maybe being polite and chatty helped?) When I arrived I didn't have two documents I needed and I had to drive 30 min home and back to get them. Bring CASH and your checkbook. NO credit cards. Bring ALL your documents: SSI, passport, proof of residence, title, receipts, driver's license, and your grocery list! The title person even converted my Canadian kilometers into miles; my previous state didn't know how!! The whole thing took a little over an hour AND some of the time the computer was down. read more
