Place is always very slow and workers are not properly trained. Someone needs to do an investigation of this place. I have heard from many customers that there eye testing machine is very old and outdated leading people who have good eyes to flunk its drivers eye test. I myself wear good glasses with prescription and had trouble following their eye test due to low lighting and shadows inside the machine. I barely passed but this has never happened to me before at other BMVs where I always pass eye tests. Until you update your machines we are going somewhere else. read more

I bought a new car and had to transfer title. I used the service Online to get in line then drove to the BMV. Once there I waited only about 2 minutes before my number was called. Very efficient system. The clerk and all of the employees with whom I had contact were fantastic! It was an enjoyable experience as well as quick and easy. read more

I went to the Delaware BMV for a simple tag renewal where there was supposedly no wait. I came in with a reservation. It then said I'd have a 15-20 minute wait so I ran to the restroom. I returned only to be made to wait for 25 more minutes before I inquired and they said I'd been called the second I went to hall (I'm fairly certain they mistyped my number as one with 2 digits inverted).They did begrudgingly help Me and I was taken care of within 5 minutes. I will never return to this location. I watched people get skipped the whole time I was there and no employee had any sense of urgency. read more

This is a review of the BMV at 5287 Westpointe Plaza, as each one is different. The BMV gives wait times of all locations, and they were 1.5 to two full hours at every location but Westpoint, that said 10 minutes. I thought the webtimer was broken or this was a false promise. Not so! I got there, used the doorway kiosk to enter my phone number, and I was called to the window before I could sit down. I asked the staff why they had a significantly shorter wait time than all the other BMV offices. She said they try to do things quickly here. For the love of god I have never seen a bigger shit show than the state of Ohio and their total lack of customer service. It's horrible in person and then if you dare and try and call for some answers the phone system is ridiculously convoluted and absolutely zero help there. The story changes constantly with everyone you speak to . I was just trying to help my 17 year old get his license back after a suspension for 90 days. There are always fewer people here than at the Cemetary Rd. location. I arrived on my birthday at 7:55 am to find about 6 people in line. When the door was unlocked at 8 we were advised to check in at the kiosk then have a seat. When you put your phone # in, you get a text with a # that shows up on a screen when it is your turn. It's so very efficient now. The woman who assisted me was super nice. Gone are the grumps. I was in and out within 30 minutes. Go team go. read more

It's unbelievable that they let the lady Terrie still work at this location or any other location she was very prejudiced against people that had an accent, she was bullying them very harshly when she spoke to them in a very rude demeaning manner. I've never seen such rude in my life. I shared it with the receptionist that was helping me and she said that her and the lady next to her an associate have to work with her everyday and she creates a lot of hostility. But the BMV does nothing about it. Cuz they just want workers. I have corporate looks at this because if they talk to the wrong person like that they may have a gun and do something drastic. I expected the WORST from my dealings with Michigan SOS, and looked like I would be right when signed lease, birth certificate, passport, and Michigan driver licence was not enough to get my Ohio licence and licence plate. Maybe a pint of blood also?? No, just something from my bank dated today with new address and worker told me where closest branch was. I expected the chicken and egg problem, but bank took only the signed lease to update address - thank you Huntington Bank. When I got back, long line, but when person who helped me saw me, she told me to jump line!!! Paperwork and more paperwork including having to apply for Ohio title. I will have to wait for that and once with that, I can finally get my plates so another trip back. I did get my driver's license and the picture isn't half bad. Staff was happy to help and welcoming. What a change from normal. It seems places like that train staff to be rude and slow. Maybe she was absent the day of that lesson so I lucked out. read more

I normally come to this BMV but this is by far the worst experience I've had. Nothing to do with me personally, they lack customer service. The women were extremely rude to a guest, who didn't speak very well English or understood what they were actually saying. After the guest left, the clerks continued to talk about her very loudy, for everyone to hear. I'm just very disappointed in the lack of service or support from the clerks to this guest who isn't from this country. My personal experience was great. The woman who serviced me was very nice and educated me on the new documents needed for the Ohio drivers license renewal process. read more

I arrived at 7:50 (opens at 8) on a Thursday. There were already 10 people in line. I was not looking forward to this visit. I got in line. At 8, the 1st 4 people were let in and served. The next few people were allowed in to register at the kiosk, assigned a #, and asked to return to the sidewalk until their # was called (via text message). If it's raining or cold, you can wait in your car till they text you. I went thru the motions and was called around 8:30 and was done in 5 minutes. All the staff members were courteous and did their jobs well. I was pleasantly surprised. read more

I had to renew my Driver's License that's due to expire on my birthday next month, and I put it off as a chore that I did not want to do. I've had bad experiences with rude BMV workers in the past, and so I begrudgingly went in to wait my turn to be abused. Man, was I pleasantly surprised! I was the fifth person in line, but it moved quickly because they had a staff member at each counter station. The clerk that waited on me (Allie) was so nice, and she and I were laughing about the process and the questions she had to ask: I wanted to change my hair color from brown to silver (it's actually both colors), but the only choices offered were either 'gray' or 'white.' Allie then said, 'but an option for eye color is 'pink!' My photo was predictably horrible...but that's on me and not their fault. It took just a couple of minutes to get my brand new 'mug shot,' and I was out the door. I imagine that their jobs are soul-crushingly boring, processing the same paperwork hour after hour day after day, but Allie made my visit pleasant rather than agonizing. It was my first time doing business at this location, but it is now the only BMV that I'll go to in the future. read more

Absolutely outrageous lack of service. If you are from out of state--DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE IN OHIO. Obtaining all paperwork from your state is your responsibility. Not so bad if the the necessary paperwork actually shows up from Ohio to do so. You only have 30 days total. This includes the time you sit twiddling your thumbs waiting. The Ohio BMV appears to be incapable of achieving this tall order. Of course, they could have simply allowed more than the 30 days; but that would make too much sense. read more

Very unfriendly personnel, especially the elderly-gray-haired female employee who stated she couldn't assist me with obtaining a simple registration change- however, the Gahanna BMV handled it expeditiously and with a smile. So the average wait time listed online for this location is listed as 17 minutes. You guys crack me up. Everyone in here has been waiting 2 hours which is my experience. So the good news bad news is you can now start your wait online before arriving however, once you arrive you no longer can see what your wait time will be or how many people are in front of you. At least before you could choose to walk away based on a physical line that was too long. The numbering system is terrible too. More than one letter before a three digit # is used so it's impossible to determine where or when your number will be called. Worst system ever created and definitely no improvement on efficiency. What a bureaucratic nightmare. They move from "d" to "v" to "o" seemingly indiscriminately. One word description of visiting the BMV ...UGH read more

Easiest way of finding it is to look for the Starplex theatre it shares a strip with. Had no issues or waiting time getting my DL renewed. Went at around 1:15 on a Wednesday and was out in 20 minutes, if that. There are actually no seats like some have which hints to a fast turnaround on services. They do not accept credit but have an ATM on sight an also accept checks. Good service. Everything easy to understand. Definitely recommended. read more
