Absolutely unacceptable experience at the BMV. I waited over 3 hours just to be helped, and to make things worse, they had the restrooms closed with a sign blaming the public for "losing the privilege" due to cleanliness. Seriously? If you're going to make people sit there for hours, the least you can do is provide a restroom. Now let me tell you about Rachel--a loud, rude staff member who clearly thinks she's above everyone else. She spent more time chatting on the phone than helping people, while the rest of us sat there wasting our day. Her unprofessionalism is off the charts, and her attitude doesn't make the wait go any faster. If the goal was to show the public how little you value their time and comfort, mission accomplished. This is the 3rd time I came to get my enhanced Drivers License and this time the computers are down. What the heck? No reason give. Sut. Wait. Go. Call back if you need to leave. Went here last week to get my license renewed and they did a good job. Quick and cordial although the area is ghetto.

They take two business days to get things done, they stay having multiple window open but still not doing they damn job, manager is good for nun but company owned vehicles owners and everyone else just seems confused and just stealing company time while they have they window open on their lunch breaks. read more

This was the most rude, obnoxious, and horrible trip, visit whatever, that I ever had!! The 2 black women employees, (I don't know their names) were so rude and refused to even look at my paperwork to help or try to help me with my tags. I am waiting for my title to come in the mail. But I had my title printout (proof of completion) and all I wanted was to purchase tags and registration. I literally got shooed away being told to go next door and get a new title printed out. I already have my title on the way in the mail. That was a ridiculous suggestion, but since she didn't bother to look at my paperwork, of course she didn't know. That just shows incompetence! DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. IT IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST BMV DEPUTY REGISTAR IN FRANKLIN COUNTY. I arrived at 9:50 am just to get a tag and by 12:30 pm (2 hours and 40 mins) I was able to get out. Regulars that go here have it down to a scam. After waiting over 2 hours I saw one person come in sit down and after a number was called, he then looked around to see if anyone was walking up and after not seeing anyone claim the number he hurried up to the counter like it was his number in order to bypass the wait. They have 8 stations and barely have 3 workers. The manager of this location walks around like a zombie. Ventilation is poor and dangerous for viruses today. I will go to any other location next time needing tags or a DL. Why the State BMV has not put this location on notice or probation is beyond me. read more

I thought this located wouldn't be too busy and it wasn't when I walked in around 11:30 on a Friday. I was estimated about 20 minutes and have been here for over an hour. Every time an employee goes in the back room you can see at least 3-4 other employees standing in the back not working. Another employee goes to the back each time after she helps a customer and doesn't come back for 5+ minutes. Needless the say, go to a different location. A lot of people suggested the south high location so i will definitely check that one out next time. This place is awful. *had to add and edit that Holly was wonderful. The person I had do all my paper work wasn't pleasant at all, but holly took my picture and she was very friendly and made my 2 hour wait a tiny bit better at the end. read more

Whoa... this is the worst BMV I've ever been to. I wound up here because the big shiny BMV on W Broad was closed (WHO KNEW IT CLOSED?!), and I found myself fighting against the clock to make it here before they closed at 5. Let me tell you, if you arrive a second late--they will shut you down! This BMV is a hot stinking mess. They used to have a number system, where people could just sit and wait for their number to be called, but that machine is now visibly broken with a trashy sign taped over it. This sign points to more handmade signs taped on chairs in the middle of the room. These signs point to another trashy sign hanging on the ceiling giving instructions. Oh, and there's some type of message spelled out in giant tape letters on the floor. GIANT TRASHY SIGNS TAPED EVERYWHERE. So instead of neat and orderly service, everyone waits in never-ending lines of chaos. Oh, and if you didn't bring cash or check, you're going to have to get out of line and go to their ATM and pay the $3.50 fee. Why 2 stars instead of 1? The people working in this shithole are absolutely lovely. Like, super friendly and casual. I actually felt bad for them having to work in such a dump. Do everything absolutely possible to avoid this BMV, but if you end up there anyway--at least the people are nice. read more

As of May 18, 2016, this location of the BMV is very much open because I am there right now. The Main Department of Transportation location at 1980 E Broad St actually has a sign on their door that directs everyone trying to take care of anything Driver's license/ID/vehicle registration-related to this closest location, which is about 10 mins west of there. They cleaned up pretty well in this location since Bryant M visited last year. Everything was pretty orderly now with nothing written on the floor. There are two lines clearly marked-one for vehicle registration and one for driver's licenses, plus chairs along the window for whoever you drag to the BMV with you to sit and wait. We made it about 15 mins before they closed and were in and out in less than 10 mins. The employees are still friendly and helpful. Heads up, they only accept cash and check at this location. read more

Sitting and waiting for my number to be called and the manager with black hair and a lip piercing was speaking to a Latino man who spoke spanish and very limited english. He couldn't understand her so she proceeded to yell his private information at him, loud enough for me and my friends to hear very clearly from across the room. She then proceeded to say "No bueno, no speed!" at this man to make him understand. She is a rude and disgusting excuse for a person and should be fired immediately. The man walked out embarrassed and this left me livid. I'm pretty sure her name is Stacey. Again she has a lip piercing and black hair. Terrible customer service. Spoke to an agent ahead of time to clarify exactly what documents I needed in order to convert my license from another state. Apparently that person doesn't know how to do their job because after I paid for an Uber ride over there I found out I wasted my time and money and then had to pay for another Uber home.
