This was the shrimp that is in all the pictures that should also be on the garlic noodles....
    Ken K.

We were in the mood for Hawaiian and went here. It was our second time and besides being a bit expensive, the food was good, so we were looking forward to it. My wife wanted garlic noodles and wanted to add the shrimp to it. Based on past photos from customers on Yelp, we thought we were going to get the jumbo shrimp, but the picture shows what we got instead. A few measley mini shrimp with some garlic on it, for $6.50 extra. When I took it up and asked, the girl said that's what it comes with, and when I showed her pictures, she insisted that's what it is. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she says there are none. I couldn't take it out on her, she's useless, but it pissed me off and I won't be coming back. Rip someone else off.

    Luau Plate and Oahu Plate
    Keri C.

Man, I really wanted to love this place! What we ordered: 1 Oahu Plate, 1 Huli Huli Chicken plate ( Luau plate?) and the summer rolls Let's start with the biggest disappointment, the Mac salad! Both the meals came with it and honestly this is what I was craving the most... question - WHO PUTS CORN AND PINEAPPLE IN THEIR HAWAIIAN MAC SALAD?! Not my jam AT ALL... I do not want to taste sweet corn in my Mac salad. Literally had two bites, bland aside from that even. Garlic shrimp - good EXCEPT they keep the shell on which is very annoying and makes your meal very messy. Huli Huli chicken - this was actually really good, no complaints Summer rolls - we got one shrimp, one chicken, one beef. The beef was nasty. Not a fan at all. The size of these rolls were really good though, larger anticipated. Price - this meal was way too expensive for not being amazing! We specifically went in to order because the prices seemed crazy to order for delivery and even going in I think this cost us around $50? For not even a sit down place, no thanks. Customer service- the guy who took our order was very nice. All in all, will not be going back unfortunately, would not recommend either.

Food is so delicious and flavorful. I ordered Chicken Katsu and let me tell you, it's the BOMB! 10/10 recommend You get a LOT of food for the price. Thank you sweet Tiale for your service and for being so helpful! Definitely be back when she's working! Super chill atmosphere to have dinner with your friends and family. Everything is also very clean and tidy. Organized and neat.

Something different for a change in Riverside: Hawaiian inspired Asian fusion food. Overall taste good. Customer service okay. Ambiance decent. Note: their online order system is not ready so don't place online orders. Come into the store and place your orders either for dine in or take out. Today marks their 3 weeks of grand opening :)

Located inside a large strip mall complex, you will at first think that you have to pay for parking or get it validated but you do not. Just drive in, take the ticket and parking is free. No validation is required unlike what the sign says. With that in mind, there is plenty of parking. Went there for a late lunch and the place was fairly empty. Staff was friendly and offered us free samples of the wide array of juices they offer which were all pretty good. We had the luau plate and aloha plate for our meals. Food took about 10 minutes so came rather quickly. While the cost is a little higher than other faster food places, the quantity of food is pretty impressive and their Mac is very good. Both meals were overall good and I left feeling full and satisfied. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available. I would return here.

    katsu pork rice bowl

The katsu pork rice bowl was savory and delicious. I made extra rice for this and broccoli as the meat portions were generous enough to increase my grains and vegetable portions.

Hawaiian garlic shrimp with garlic noodles? It was not. Just a pile of spaghetti noodles in a huge pool of oil tossed with shrimp.
    Cat B.

The pic says it all. Too sweet and too much oil! Supposed to be Hawaiian style garlic shrimp with garlic noodles. It was nothing like what I have had in Hawaii. Or even at other Hawaiian restaurants on the mainland. :-(

    Oahu plate jumbo shrimp

Came here for the Oahu plate because of the photos and was not disappointed! It came with crispy jumbo shrimp, rice and macaroni salad. It's on the pricey side but the flavor was there. I also got the curry katsu and that didn't have any flavor at all. If I am ever craving shrimp, I would come back for that.

Ordered the Aloha Plate which comes with, per their menu description, "battered boneless chicken tossed in orange pineapple sauce". It's garnished on top with pineapple pieces & green onion. Had a decent flavor and was filling for what it was. Like a bougie version of a 2 item Orange Chicken plate at Panda Express. The Mac salad it came with was not good at all. Compared to the Mac salads you get in Hawaii and also at Ono Hawaiin here - it was very watery, and had corn in it which gave it a weird off putting taste. With a can of coke it'll be over $20 which seems high but it is what it is I suppose.

    Oahu Shrimp Plate

Walking into the restaurant there is Hawaiian music playing along with lovely colorful decor. The service was great! I was greeted upon walking in by a one of the workers and helped me navigate through the menu. On to the food... I got the Oahu(Shrimp) Plate and the Volcano (Shrimp) Plate. Oahu plate felt like a Hawaiian paradise from the first bite. The shrimps are HUGE and cooked to crisp perfection. The flavor is brought by the combination of butter, garlic, and whatever magical ingredients that bring the shrimp all together. In addition, the Mac salad that the plate comes with has a nice blend of savory and sweet tones. The bits of pineapple within the Mac salad are refreshing and give a more dynamic tone to the dish without losing it's classic Mac salad feel. SECRET MENU ALERT: The Volcano Shrimp is not featured on the menu but can be ordered. Context, my friend ordered the Volcano Fries and I really liked the flavor as it had a nice spice kick to it so I asked if that sauce could be put on the shrimp like the Oahu Plate. I would like to believe I conceived the idea for this secret menu item but it may have already been apart of the menu somehow. Either way, I was pleased with the Volcano Shrimp in how it brought a subtle spice with a touch of sweet to it. Overall, would recommend this place to friends and anyone else looking for some nice Hawaiian fusion. On the menu there is also build your own Vietnamese spring roll and bowl... I didn't get a chance to try those but will def be back after the stellar Hawaiian dishes I had.

This place is TOO LEGIT!! , don't expect "onos" from this place . That place has nothing on this spot! The poke , garlic shramp and my favorite- katsu is tasty and authentic like the islands brah! The island Mac is quite NOOICE as well! Nice decor , clean and inviting. You won't regret it - hit this place up SON!!

Luau huli huli chicken plate, 2 scoops Mac salad, house curry katsu bowl. It was all meh.
    Kristine J.

I was excited to try this place out but was disappointed. Everyone else giving this 5 stars definitely ordered other things that we didn't get. So maybe that's another factor in why my experience wasn't great. But the fact that they're more pricey than Ono or L&L, I expected much more from them. I got the luau huli huli chicken plate that comes with Mac salad. The chicken was pretty dry. Just like another yelper said, the Mac salad was on the sweeter and cold side. Almost all Hawaiian Mac salads I've had and enjoyed whether here or in Hawaii, have a more savory taste to them. Then my fiancé's curry katsu bowl was absurdly so so spicy!!! And he likes spicy, but that house curry sauce should come with a warning! It was very unexpected. Maybe I'll come back to try other popular items, but for now, this is my two cents.

    Aloha Plate

Inside is just a little hole in the wall in University Village, but this place is a must try! If you even remotely like orange chicken then you HAVE to get the Aloha Plate. It has incredible flavor & texture unlike anything I've had before, and it makes it an absolute must try. The macaroni salad was a great side, especially with the sweet corn mixed in, but the green salad fell a little flat next to it (next time I'll probably sub for more Mac Salad honestly). But overall the Aloha Plate chicken was the best part of the whole thing!! The spam fried rice was also PHENOMENAL, especially with the pineapple, and especially on day 2 when I threw fried eggs & a little sriracha on top. Spam musubi was pretty good, but wasn't the best I've tried. It was a little dry, and could've used more sauce. Everything was exceptionally fresh, but that also meant it took a little bit of time to get the order and that the cost was pretty high for two plates and an appetizer. Even so it was incredibly worth the wait and the $ because of how big and BOMB the portions were.

The next day I went for the first time, I was in a hurry and I only had 20 minutes to be back at the hospital. Although I wanted shrimp and or a fish that was going to take 20 minutes to make it and I did not have that to give. The cashier lady said that the barbecue beef would be the fastest thing to make so I went with that. I ordered two. I got that in about 10 minutes and I was able to rush back to the hospital in time. Later, I was eating this on my way home and while driving and can I tell you that this was GOOD. I really wish I was sitting at a table to eat it because I just wanted to chow down, but I could only take quick bites at lights so I was very sad about that. The next day, I decided to stop by again because if you find something good, no need to go somewhere else. This time, I was with my mom and based on the pictures on the wall, she chose the Hawaiian fried rice mix and we decided to share it. There was so much food. We were both able to eat and each had leftovers to eat the other half the next day. The food is really good and I will definitely be back. First, I arrived shortly after they opened on a Tuesday, which is important to highlight because they're closed on Mondays, and I suspect one dish I tried had the texture of leftovers (from the weekend). Part of me wants to try again later in the week, and day to see if this was a fluke. What I ordered was a rice bowl with braised pork belly and daily vegetables. Everything was good except the pork was dry and tough, clearly not braised that day or heated all the way through. I forget what my first choice was, but it wasn't available that day. My other item was the wonton soup, which also disappointed me for a few reasons. Portion size is good, but the broth tasted really thin, watery, and the wontons were overcooked and falling apart. The cause was they were forgotten about and the pot boiled over. Generally, you cook these below the boil to prevent the cloudy mess from disintegrating skins. The filling tasted fine, but again, overall flavors and balance was marred. I did, however, enjoy the lenon tea that comes with every combination meal. And, the employees are very nice, but the food didn't make the cut. They have a big menu and I've seen the skewers and hot pots in action so I know there's potential.

I was already super full already, but we were able to try a bit of the food and take the rest to go. Pretty generous portions and very unique food that is a bit more difficult to find elsewhere. We got the Taupou Plate which is a 3 item plate order with 2 side items. For this, we chose the lamb, turkey tail, and curry and for the side items we got the banana and taro. Interesting mix of sweet, creamy, savory, and umami. I'm not the biggest fan of turkey, but turkey tail isn't a very common "cut of meat" to order. Really rich, tender, and a bit greasy, but if you love turkey, this is perfect for you. Nice mix of flavors with this order and has the most variety.
