Wow, wow, wow!!!! Liana's really takes the cake! (of course, pun intended)…read more Today, we celebrated my Uncle's 60th with a wonderful cake created by Liana. She is uniquely creative and bakes a wonderful tasting cake....at first you worry the cake may look pretty but how does it taste? Well, she hit the mark on both...i requested a white cake with strawberries which was moist and not too sweet accompanied with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. The fondant is something most people don't eat but it was thinly layered and obviously not bad...as i didn't see any left on the plate. If you want an ordinary cake, go to Costco...Liana definitely brought the WOW factor to the party. She is easy to work with which is all done via email to ensure everything is clear. I came up with a concept and she was able to incorporate that into cake which was so detailed. So whatever your creative mind can think of, I'm positive Liana's can do it! Thanks so much for making my uncle's bday special!

I choose Chocolate cake with raspberry filling, and vanilla buttercream frosting. The cake was very fresh and super delicious. It was also moist, and the filling was so good with the chocolate. My Fiancé also loved it, and it wasn't too sweet it was just perfect. I could have ate the whole cake but I decided to share with my Fiancé family , which my future mother in law really loved it also. Liana does an amazing job!! I absolutely would refer her to anyone looking for a delicious and beautiful cake inside and out =)

I called here a couple times and the lady who answered spoke limited English. I came here on a weekday morning around 8AM which is the time they listed as open. The door was locked, so I had to call to let the lady know I was there. Still confusion, so I just rang the doorbell at the front and she let me in. The rice cakes are around $8 and were super fresh/warm when I bought them. I tried the red bean one (tasted more savory), the plain rice cakes (ended up being my favorite given the very very subtle sweetness and chewy texture), and the peanut one. It's mostly just a kitchen spot and no other displays available. Would love to come back and try their black sesame ones!

I knew this was a mom and pop shop and…read morethere was no menu that I could find anywhere, so we went in to talk to the shop owner about our options. We were a little surprised when we walked in. There were no displays to speak of. It felt like walking directly into the kitchen, with commercial equipment all around. There was a single lady sitting at the front distributing pre-ordered trays. Even though she spoke fluent English, I don't think I would have been able to order without my Korean husband. There really is no menu and for someone that is not Korean like me and may need some more handholding in terms of what rice cakes there are and what is in them, there was quite a barrier to entry. For her part, the lady tried her best to be helpful, even pulling out pictures on her iPhone to show me the different types of rice cakes. The minimum quantity for pre-order is 10lb trays. There isn't an option to mix and match rice cakes, you have to order 10lbs of each one that you want. In the end, we opted for gyeondan (rice cake balls covered in assorted bean or sesame powder) so that there could be some variety in the tray. If you don't want 10lbs (understandable), you can call in to see what types of rice cakes other people have pre-ordered that day, and they can make a few extra for you. To my understanding, you can't reserve this, it is first come first serve. The cost is dependent on what type of rice cake you order, but ranges from $90-100ish per tray. The gyeondan were so delicious! You could tell the rice cake was made fresh because it was so soft and chewy. The red bean paste inside was subtlely sweet. My husband's favorite flavor was the black sesame and mine was the mung bean. We also saved the injeolmi powder to put on vanilla ice cream YUM. We can't decide if the reddish/brown powder was red bean powder or cinnamon, but it was also very good. The lady was also kind enough to throw in a few complimentary baekseoulgi for us. It had a slightly salty forward flavor that was followed by a light sweetness. So good! I would highly recommend JR Bakery for your traditional rice cake needs, especially for big parties. You have to eat the rice cakes quick or freeze them if you're not going to eat them immediately as they will go stale and harden...or grow mold.

You have to go into the super small parking lot just after Snappy's cafe. Once parked, in the corner of the parking lot there's a set of doors and a circle on the wall that says hey boo coconuts for you. Then you know you got the right spot. I don't know their hours, check their instagram. I walked in, thought I was lost until I recognized the young lady taking orders. I got a pound of shoyu poke. I kept smelling the amazing chicken and noodles! I made him do a special order since I didn't preorder. He was super gracious and accommodated me. I told him it was his own fault for telling me to come through. The noodles were delicious, lots of veggies and the char siu was meaty, not greasy. The wings had a great garlic and soy flavor to it. The shoyu poke was perfect, it didn't feel like it was doused or overpowered by sauce on the ahi tuna that he used. Most definitely on my rotation since I'm always in the neighborhood.

22503 Mission Blvd Hayward, CA 94541…read more(Mission Blvd x A Street) This is the Cold Stone Creamery in downtown Hayward, in the Lucky Shopping Center. I was in the area having my truck serviced, and had the unique opportunity to visit this place right when they opened at 11am. I don't go to Cold Stone Creamery locations too often. Their "super premium" ice cream is rich, decadent, and high in calories. But on a sunny Saturday, I decided to drop by and maybe try their coffee ice cream. It was 11:05 am and there was already a line! Only one young lady was working behind the counter. She told me she would serve me in a moment. Everything appeared fully stocked. Lots of cones and waffle cups. The place was clean and shiny. There's several small tables inside. When it was my turn, I asked the young lady what's good. She suggested all kinds of combinations depending on what I like. I decided to get: Regular Chocolate & Coffee, with coconut blended in. She offered me a free sample scoop of any flavor. I picked mint, and it was placed on top of the frosty blended ice cream (see photo). I gave her a $2 tip. While I was waiting, I asked to use the restroom. She came out to unlock it. It was clean and well stocked. The ice cream was super creamy and rich. The mint ice cream was easy to eat. But the blended coffee/ chocolate ice cream was almost frozen solid. It took awhile to finish eating it. It's okay, ice cream should be eaten slowly. It's a comfort food, it makes you feel good. Overall, I had a very nice experience here. Customer service and quality of ice cream get an A+ & 5-star score. I was told the ice cream is made on-site. Free parking in lot.
