Overcooked. Dry. Crumbling. Round Cake 10"

I originally stopped by around 4pm on a weekday. No one was there. The door was locked. There was no note on the door that they had closed early. The website currently shows open until 6pm. So that was incorrect. The next day, I called to confirm their hours and confirmed I wanted to stop by to place an order. I told them I stopped by the day before, but they were closed before 4:30pm. The person I spoke to stated they would be there and denied what happened the day before. That should have been a red flag for me. As for ambiance, it was a hot day and it was definitely warm inside the bakery. I could see behind the counter and it didn't look very tidy. So I stopped by later that afternoon. The young lady at the front could not be bothered. She was not helpful. She seemed annoyed by my questions. She kept pointing at a board for me to look at for answers. I guess the owner came out from the back, and she was not very friendly. Neither of them demonstrated good customer service. They seemed annoyed and didn't seem to want to help. Against my better judgment, I proceeded to place an order. They quoted me $130 for a 10" strawberry whipped cream cake with flowers and happy birthday writing. I placed a deposit and even gave a generous tip in hopes the cake would turn out better than their customer service. The cake was placed in a box that was double the size it needed to be. There was a whole lot of box for a not so big cake. The cake looked pretty on the outside. Unfortunately, it was dry and bland on the inside. It was hard to cut and it crumbled when trying to scoop it on the fork or spoon. It did not taste fresh. The icing was okay. It wasn't sweet. Overall, it was NOT worth $130 + the generous tip I gave. I really wanted to support local business, but I won't be a return customer.

My wedding cake
Ashley W.

I was so excited to ask Ivy to make my wedding cake since she's been my go to baker all these years and she did such an amazing job! We made an appointment for cake tasting and narrowed it down to the three that we liked (cheesecake, lemon, and strawberry). We did three tiers (8"/10"/12") and it was more than enough to feed a party of 150 people. Ivy also delivered the cake to our venue, which was a huge help because it was one less thing I needed to worry about! The cake matched the theme perfectly and it looked so much better than the inspo pic I had. Thank you again!!

The cake was absolutely delicious and I'm so happy with how that cake came out, it's exactly how I imagined it would look! I'd recommend coming here!

Carrot cake on the bottom and strawberry on top

Looks nothing like the Inspo picture, the owner misinterpreted what we wanted, said we showed her two pictures when it was just one we even sent it through text, she tried to blame it on the icing being whipped cream that's why it looks bad like this but the border looks nothing like the Inspo picture, plus it was smudged when we open it, we ALSO asked for a marble cake and they gave us chocolate, The cake tasted good but there was a lot of mistakes and it was not what we asked for mostly paying 250$, not worth it and not coming back. Thank you I added the Inspo picture below.

Good cake, good price, reliable service. Good communication. Did manage expectations for final cake.

Mango sago cake for lunar new year's
Minnie C.

I ordered a mango sago cake for lunar new years for my family as Ivy did a wonderful job with decorating it for the day! The cake was fresh, the mango was sweet, but the crème was not too sweet which is perfect for my Asian family's taste. I really appreciate how fresh they make their cake and Ladyfinger's staff is all so nice. Thank you for the beautiful cake!

Coconut Round Cake 12"

Best coconut cake and chocolate chip cookies! Ordered one for my uncles birthday in March and another for my dad in September. Delicious!

Butter cream frosted yellow sponge cake with strawberries and crème filling.

I was in desperate need of a cake for my daughters baby shower. My son-in-laws mom let me know a week before the party that her cake person went out of town. I knew no one would have a chance to make a two tiered cake at this point. I was able to find a simple sheet cake design and took it to lady fingers to see if they could do it. They Did! I got a sponge sheet cake with strawberries and crème filling. The outside was an ombré rose design. Aside from it looking like the pic, the cake was amazing. She used buttercream frosting and nothing was overly sweet! Disclaimer: I have no clue why we didn't take a pic of it but hope this works.

$35 small cake 6" Strawberry Mousse Cake
Monica B.

Went in to get a small cake for a friend. The person who helped me seemed a bit annoyed by my asking what flavor each cupcake & cake was. I ended up purchasing a few cupcakes & a Strawberry Mousse cake. I wish I could say differently but the cupcakes weren't fresh tasting and dry. Not sure how the cake was because I gave it to a friend...they thanked me but never mentioned how it tasted. Eeekkk.

Bluey themed 1/2 sheet mixed fruit cake
Lisa L.

We ordered a cake here for my daughter's birthday. We went with a Bluey themed cake that I got the inspiration from instagram and emailed them for a quote. I got a fairly quick response and decided to order through them. Turned out as what I expected. It was a bit on the pricier side when adding the custom decorations but other than that, everything went well from the ordering, to picking up, presentation, and taste of the cake. All our guest enjoyed it and no crumbs were left behind. Will definitely order from them again!

Shout out to Ladyfingers Cakes located at San Leandro for an excellent job of doing a Bluey 10" cake!!!!!! This cake became the highlight of the party. Thanks to Ivy for making this easy for us. I am from San Diego but the kid's party is at Oakland. i googled and found Ladyfingers. I have doubts at first, but this is the most convenient for me coming from San Diego. I just paid through Zelle... that's it!!! The cake was delicious too!!! Not too sweet. Love the design and love the cake! This place is highly recommended.

Durian cake

Pre-ordered a 1/8 sheet durian cake, 1/8 sheet mango cake, and 12 carrot cupcakes for a party. The durian cake is SO GOOD! My family from LA raved about this cake; I should've ordered a half sheet. The mango cake was good but mangos are currently not in season so it was likely frozen mango - still delicious. I really liked the carrot cupcakes (the cream cheese frosting is not too sweet but I only ate a small portion of the frosting); they were packed with shreds of carrots and coconut. Cupcakes had a moist texture. My family thought there was too much shreds of stuff though. Ordered in person and pick up was easy. Will definitely order future cakes here!

Hi. Are you doing custom cakes at this time? I would like to order a fire truck shaped cake for my son's 3rd birthday, pick up date Sunday, April 11 @ 10am. If this is doable, could you give me a price? Chocolate with whip cream filling.

We heard that there had been some long lines recently and that the bread can sell out fast, so he went ahead of me to get in line before they opened, but he said there actually wasn't a line this time. We went on a Sunday afternoon and got two each of the regular and chili oil scallion breads. Once I got to the cafe, I ordered the banana pudding matcha latte. We sat on the bench outside to eat our bread and noticed that it tasted just a *little* like it had been sitting out for a while. I wouldn't describe it as stale, it just didn't have as soft a texture as we expected. However, it tasted absolutely delicious. I'd recommend getting both flavors if you can. The chili oil one wasn't spicy, in my opinion, it just had a kick of chili flavor. The banana pudding matcha latte was a little less successful. The pudding was great, but it just sat on top of the drink. When I mixed it into the matcha, it still wasn't coming through very strong and the drink tasted almost entirely of matcha. It was disappointing because I love banana so much. I think I'd be better off just ordering the banana pudding in the future. I'd like to come back here on a Saturday to see if the bread is a bit fresher, and I'd order the banana pudding rather than the latte.

It's in a corner of a very cute gourmet food hall and had a good selection of goods left in mid-afternoon on a weekday. Service is also friendly and prompt. I had to get the kouign amann because I always get one wherever I can, and also picked up a plain croissant, currant scone, and panna cotta. The KA was decent; I would call this one a diet KA because they only put the sugar on one side so it was more like a brulee'd croissant. I also have to admit that, while this shaping is very attractive, the direction of the lamination makes eating this feel like shards in my mouth. However, flavor was excellent. The plain croissant is very plain. It's decent but I've had better. The scone and panna cotta, however, were delightful. Both had lovely soft textures and wonderful creamy flavors. The scone held up for two days and wasn't even a bit stale when I finally had it for breakfast. Highly recommend this tucked-away bakery in the Castro Valley!

Seven Hills Baking Co was my first stop as I haven't had sourdough since childhood. I got their classic sourdough loaf. Even though it wasn't warm anymore it was still amazing. It was quite hard to cut into with a serrated bread knife, which I'm not sure whether that's normal or abnormal for gluten sourdough. However, the inside was lovely and soft. Nice strong sour flavor, spongy dough that was almost moist (not at all dry). I want to note on the gluten free front that seven hills baking co offers a few items which they advertise to be gluten free. Though the ingredients may be gluten free, the items are baked in the same kitchen, the same oven, and then put side by side with the gluten in the display case. Furthermore I don't believe their ingredients are all certified gluten free. Therefore I do not recommend seven hills baking co for anybody with celiac disease. Do not buy your friend with a gluten allergy or celiac these items. There is most certainly cross contact.

Guava cheese pastry has guava jam inside. Not much filling but the flavor is quite strong. No cheese to speak of. Mango custard bun smells strongly of mango but the flavor is more subtle. It's mango all throughout though. Coconut bun was by far the strongest flavor, really generous amount of creamy custard coconut filling. Matcha red bean roll is filled with whipped cream. It has the green tea flavor but it's very subtle. The red bean is few and far between. The choco bun was chocolatey, with a pudding consistency of filling. The bun had a cocoa flavor. Strong flavor of chocolate throughout. The Hokkaido bun was filled with whipped cream which was unexpected. Underneath the cream is some sort of white bean paste The cream filling is like a really good hostess filling. It's self serve. A lot of similar places have you grab the pastries with tongs, but here they put them in plastic which is a relief in terms of germ spreading potential. Line went quickly. Tons of options. Tons of savories too and lots of drinks. They were constantly replacing and bringing out fresh pastries. They did so 3-4 times in the 10 mins we were there so you know when you go the pastries won't be stale or old.
