He quickly gained more knowledge and experience than I had, and I ended up in the "drive him places and pay for stuff" position. So he gets a welder for Christmas and then needs some stock to build a welding bench. I tell him to make a plan about what he needs and to find a metal shop and we'll go get a quote and pick Up what he needs. Man, I was figuring he was gonna be in for a rough ride on this one. But the guys at Westbrook we AWESOME. Super patient with him walking through his project, giving him a quote, working on a re-quote, and when the price still wasn't in the dad budget, helped him select some useable parts from the scrap area to work towards what he needed. And when they learned he was just starting out, they said "hold on, we've got some scrap that's too small to sell" and handed him a box with about 10 pounds of small parts and told him to go practice... which he did." (He managed to build a nightstand like table with them... not bad!) Long story short, my son has a new hobby and I will basically go here from now on whenever we need metal or welding supplies, because the level of service is out of this world.

I bought a wire cup attachment, it went south in minutes, costing me about $20. They (owner Dane Jackson) refused to back it for a quality swap-out, and lied to me at the counter, and said that he would have to contact a product REP, as an excuse to refuse to help a long time customer. They actually have a 15 day written complaint system, unknown to the customer (not displayed), and do NOT have a company built on trust, do NOT believe in quality products or doing things the right way every time, as they (family owners Jim Jackson, Dane Jackson) mention on their website. When my business permanently closed due to forced retirement in May 2024, all gas tanks returned. Found over-billing for #8 gas tanks (nitrous oxide, oxygen) that we never had. We had #13 tanks from 2009-2024 but billed rent for #21 tanks; # tanks billed increased over time; more than $7000 over-billed over 18 yrs. We only had storage tanks holders for #13 tanks! Attempted direct communication assuming honest mistake- poor response to phone calls, letters, email. Owner David denied then attacked asking for even more payment from us for 8 tanks that do not exist. Review of our invoices, delivery sheets proved one nitrous oxide tank error and start of when total # oxygen tanks started increasing. David agreed on nitrous oxide error but no reimbursement, no response until invoices received 10/9/2024 for monthly tank rentals June-Sept for #8 tanks we never had. Charges even includes the one nitrous oxide tank that David admitted error on. Ongoing nightmare even to stop billing for ghost tanks. Do not get ripped off like my company! Just AVOID!
