Came here for happy hour on a Wednesday and the outdoor space was very lively! We ordered margaritas, nachos, and the queso. The margs were delicious, and you're able to choose your own rim as well! The food was also great, but a little unconventional. The nachos came with 4 large, flat half-tostadas and the queso came with tortillas. Overall a solid happy hour spot, would definitely recommend read more

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience. We had a reservation for two at 5:30 PM, and the owner personally seated us at our table. At no point were we told that the table had a time limit or that we needed to leave by 7:20 PM. Throughout our dinner, we continued ordering food and drinks and adding items to our check. At around 7:10 PM, our server brought us the check, which was the first time we became aware that there was an expiration time on our table. I asked to speak with the manager and explained that this had never been communicated to us. Instead of acknowledging the lack of communication, the owner became defensive and refused to take accountability. He was rude and dismissive throughout the conversation. I was respectful and tried to address the situation calmly, but I did not feel that my concerns were heard or taken seriously. The service overall was disappointing, but the way the owner handled the situation was what made the experience particularly unpleasant and unprofessional. We were actively ordering and spending money throughout our time there, so being abruptly given the check without ever having been told about a time limit was frustrating. Unfortunately, this was an awful experience, and I would not return. I would not want other customers to go through the same experience. Clear communication about the table's time limit and a more respectful response from the owner would have made a significant difference. read more

Ofrenda is a west village staple with solid Mexican food. Their Happy Hour deal has bumped them up to 5 stars in my eyes. They have outdoor seating and HH which includes food and drinks. For service, it was fine but not great. We had reserved an outdoor table but they had us sit inside for 10 minutes before moving us outside. They have a 1.5hr time limit on tables so you can feel a bit rushed, however despite all this I had an amazing time. Just mentioning here in case that matters to anyone. We had a passionfruit marg, skinny marg, chips & guac, and chicken tacos. My friend is gluten free and she ordered their fish tacos which can come grilled rather than battered/fried. I thought that was a great accommodation. The food was yum, the drinks were great, and the HH prices were amazing. I will definitely be back! read more

They have one of the better happy hour menu options. The fish and mushroom tacos were my favorite and their margaritas are strong yet tasteful. Waiter came by frequently to refill water, which was nice. read more

Very intimate spot with dark lighting and a fun ambiance, but not quite romantic. I got the jalapeño margarita, which was solid. I got an espresso martini afterward, which was excellent. The chips and guacamole were pretty good, but the portion was sorta small. I got the carme asada for my main which was cooked to a perfect medium rare. The peppers and sauce added a nice element of acidity. The service was very good without being invasive. It's a bit pricey, but that's New York City. Overall 4.4/5 read more

Came here for dinner after work and had a pleasant experience. The group and I ordered a few appetizers and entrees to split. The guacamole was very good and the tacos were yummy as well. For drinks we got the prickly pear margs which were yummy and very sweet. Service was great and consistently checked in on us. Despite us sitting there for four hours, we were never rushed out or felt pressured to leave. The place is small and intimate, but very nice! I like that it isn't too loud and you feel like you have to scream to hear people at your table. read more

The happy hour deals are truly hard to beat ! I loved the flavored and traditional margaritas. It's really hard to find a place with well balanced flavors and Ofrenda really does that well in their flavored margs. I had the cucumber and passionfruit. We had the chicken quesadilla and the steak tacos as well as the guac and chips. We finished with the churros for dessert (which were fresh and hot!). Service was great as they tried to accommodate people for the rain! Didn't get a good look at the inside, but they really try to do what they can for the outside space. Would definitely come back, especially for the happy hour deals ! read more

I highly recommend Ofrenda for their happy hour specials! The food was great, I thought it was the perfect spot for a weeknight date night. The happy hour prices were great and they were perfect portions for us. Their guac was very fresh, that was definitely the highlight for me. We came in on a Thursday night without a reservation and we were seated right away. I would recommend a reservation on the weekends, but during the week you should be fine without one. I will definitely be back! read more

This spot may be better for dates or meeting up with a friend, but would not recommend for a group dinner at all. We had a reservation for 7:30pm on a Wednesday for a group of 7. It was packed! Which on one hand speaks to it's popularity that it was so busy mid-week. It was also very loud (music and voices) and very crowded with the tables squished quite close together. Our table was not ready as of the reservation time which happens, especially when it's busy, so we were told to wait by the entrance/hostess computer. After 35 minutes we were shown to a 4-top table and told to wait until the 2-top next to us was done, and then we could drag their table into ours (that's still one seat short for our party). I ordered the beet salad which was flavorful and fresh, but was disappointed when I asked if I could add a protein like chicken or shrimp and was told no . The food came out staggered by about 8:40pm - a full hour after our original reservation - and 2 of the dishes were so delayed in coming out that we actually thought maybe the order was missing (those two alambre taco plates did arrive another 10 minutes later). We did alert our server that at the beginning that we would like separate checks in case that affected how the order was placed into the system. It was not until the end of meal that she brought us one check and said there was no splitting. It possible this clause was on the website somewhere and we did not see it, but it was weird she wouldn't say that upfront when we ordered as well since it was asked. Overall, delicious food but really poor experience as a bigger group. read more

Came here with a small group for dinner and felt just ok about it. Happy hour specials were decent, but superrrr small portions for happy hour and entrees alike. I actually found the food flavor and quality extremely average if not leaning boring and uninspired. Guacamole was fresh, bright and perfectly spiced. The "nachos" were really very strange- more like a tostada- there were probably like 3 tortilla chips total in this dish. The chicken quesadilla was moist but very under seasoned/spiced, saved only after drowning each bite in salsa. The space inside is warm and cozy, but definitely tight so better for smaller groups! Service was lackluster. I wouldn't recommend for dinner, I think there's better priced and better quality options in the area read more

For $30, I need more. I'm so annoyed right now. I hate when I recommend a place and they give nonsense portions, not to mention taste. The corn was so bland. How??? How was the cheese on the corn bland? The portion size of the quesadilla was worth $10, not $22. The salsa cup was 30% full. Never again. read more

very sweet service, extremely good chips and guac! chicken tacos were just alright, but their happy hour is a great deal!

Ofrenda is a very cozy place and the staff was very attentive. We started with margaritas and guacamole. The guac was very good and the chips were so fresh, we even asked for more they were so good! My friend and I split the alambre tacos and pulpo octopus. The octopus was a huge portion and came with two pieces so it was super easy to share. The tacos were packed with steak and really good as well! My other friend had the chicken enchiladas which she enjoyed as well. Food was good and you get a big portion of food/protein so well worth the price! read more

Cute spot! They were able to seat a large group on a Sunday afternoon with no reservation, which was nice. The spicy marg was good!

Came here with a group of friends for brunch on a Saturday. The space is small, but luckily was not super crowded when we arrived. We did have a reservation coming in, but didn't seem like it was needed. I ordered the Chilaquiles Pollo ($20), consisted of tortilla casserole, tomatillo salsa, sunny side up eggs, queso fresco, avocado, and sour cream. The waiter somehow forgot my order, so my food came out last. Regardless, the food was tasty and filling. read more

Intimate little spot for a great Happy Hour! So happy I came here with my sister. Incredibly quick and efficient service. We arrived for the HH @ 4:50 P.M and left and 5:30 P.M! We did not feel rushed at all (the restaurant was at half capacity anyway.) Our waiter was super friendly and always close by. The team worked in unison, and our water was never less than 75% full! Ordered: * Jalapeño marg + Passion fruit marg -- loved both. * HH fish tacos * HH chicken tacos * HH Guac and chips * Rice and beans side. Great prices. They lost some love for offering tilapia instead of cod for the tacos but the fish had a CRISP and golden exterior so they won some of the love right back. Chef went light on the crema and slaw toppings which I personally prefer and appreciated. Sis loooved her tacos. Guac was hella fresh and a plentiful portion, as were the tacos and side. Rice and beans were fairly plain.. could use an infusion of spices, but were cooked well. I'd come back to try the Branzino entree and shrimp aguachile appetizer! read more

We were starving at 4 o'clock and came in here because it was one of the few restaurants opened. I started with a cold beer and my husband had a margarita & we shared a guacamole. I ordered shrimp tacos with six large shrimp, a slice of avocado and some salsa. My husband had a steak enchilada with some speckles of beef. Our meal was tasty and the staff were accommodating. There was a small round table near an outlet, we were told since we were two people we couldn't sit there. We sat at a table for two, but plugged our phones in at the corner table. We were here for an hour, and nobody else sat inside. While we were there a huge bug ran past us. Upon seeing the bug we realized that the floor was pretty filthy and we were pretty grossed out. Staff tried to tell us that it was from the subway. Then another huge bug ran past us. Funny, when we were leaving, they offered us a shot of tequila. When we said we were driving, we were basically called liars. I left walking uptown to our car. I read reviews and see that Ofredo has a bug problem or a cleanliness problem. But there was an "A" rating in the window. read more

This is literally just around the corner from Stonewall. I highly suggest it. The best food I had in days!

Best chicken tacos I've ever had! Amazing guac and phenomenal house made tortilla chips

Fun cozy bar that has a decent selection of tequila and mezcal. It's in a pretty convenient spot and is a decent stop point.

I visited with a couple friends on a Sunday evening. They were incredibly busy, and business seem harried and poorly managed, with staff rushing and not having enough hands for the volume of customers. The manager asked if I had a reservation, and I said I didn't. I asked for a table, and he said the soonest would be 6 PM (an hour later), so I said sure, 6 PM for 4 people. I asked if he needed a name and he said no. I waited at the bar until 6 PM to check in on our table. The bartender was friendly and competent but did not really have the luxury to engage with us besides to serve our drinks and take our payment. I double-checked with my friend, who confirmed that he paid separately for his one drink, but his beverage was still included on my bill, which I didn't scrutinize until I got back to my hotel. At 6 PM, I checked with the manager, and he said that there was some miscommunication and he didn't have a table for us. I had a hunch he didn't when he didn't notate it in their system or ask for my name or number. He then said that he would accommodate us anyway and assigned us a table and said that we could stay for only an hour. He made sure of that, rushing us for drink and food orders. I felt unwelcome. The food is overpriced and unappetizing but experience tells us not to drink excessively with an empty stomach, so we ate what we were given. The margaritas the bartender prepared for both me and my friend were incredibly tart to the point of them being undrinkable. Maybe a bad batch, a poor pour, or a new employee, but overall disappointing. I spent more than $100 and don't feel the value matched the price paid. I tipped 20% as the right thing to do, but I'd probably not come back. read more

Delicious Mexican food, and I really enjoyed the spicy margaritas which says something because I don't usually dabble in margaritas. Bathroom wasn't flushing (but they probably fixed it) and it is cramped in there and they asked our party to leave after about 1 hour 20 mins, but I honestly think that was fair... we were occupying a large table on a Friday night. Understandable! I will return. read more

Great happy hour with chips, guac, salsas, spicy margs. I think we might be a bit old for this place - it was so loud, dark and squished. But the food was good, the price was very reasonable. Not sure we'll be back, but it would appeal to a young crowd that enjoys a good happy hour. read more

Definitely make a reservation. This restaurant is really small and gets really busy. Inside it was extremely loud and crowded. It would have been nice but all the body heat made it feel and smell like a crowded club on a Friday night. Luckily I sat outside on the street and took in the smells of New York. Passion Fruit Margarita: 9/10 Delicious! I got a passion fruit margarita and it was so good. It was strong but you couldn't taste the alcohol, the best combination. The passion fruit didn't taste artificial at all. I would love to come back for happy hour and get a pitcher of this! I tried the mango too, which was also great. Not artificial and great taste. Quesadilla with chicken: 8.5/10 As far as quesadillas go, this one was very good. The top was nice and crispy, although the bottom got a bit soggy. The chicken was shredded and extremely moist. It was perfectly spread throughout and made the dish more of a meal. I wished the chicken had had a bit more seasoning or flavor to it. It was very plain. The quesadilla was loaded with cheese, and it was perfectly melted and gooey. I loved the flavor and it wasn't over the top. The green salsa added a good amount of flavor but w didn't have as much of a punch as I would have liked. There was a little something missing overall with the spices and flavor. I would still recommend it though and would definitely get it again. Overall, this place to me would be a great stop for a happy hour. They have a good deal, great discounted small bites and margs. For dinner, I think it was too chaotic and too expensive for a tortilla with cheese. The other items look good if you want a fancy Mexican dinner. read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE OVER AND OVER. Will not be back. My first visit there was no one in the restaurant but one other table and they almost insisted I needed a reservation. My second visit they immediately told me they had a table but I "couldnt stay longer than 60 minutes...maybe 90". Again very few tables being used. I wasn't planning on setting up camp but just a quick meal...Appetizers never came out on either experience prior to meal without having to ask/remind. The waiter does NOTHING but take your order. Others fill drinks etc and since the waiter can't even get the order right. What's their purpose?? I can go on and on but point taken. It's like they don't want you to eat here. Stopped by here for a Saturday early afternoon brunch. Absolutely no one is inside or in their outdoor seating area. Chose a table in the shade and was given some water to start. To begin, ordered a Jalapeno Margarita ($13) and the Guacamole ($14). Drink had a nice kick, while not being as strong as I'd hoped. Guacamole is chunky and ready to eat with the tortilla chips. For the entree, got the Huevos Divorciados ($18) - a layering of tortilla shell, eggs, and avocado swimming in a mole/salsa combo. Good flavors overall, especially in the sauces - wish I added chorizo for some more substance. Also tried the Chilaquiles ($16) which weren't as well made. Service is solid as the items came out quickly. Expensive for brunch, as there are no deals, so probably better for dinner. read more

Ok to start off positively the margaritas were absolutely delicious especially the jalapeños marg. The food was pretty good as well as pictured. Yet there were some issues that led to 2 stars. When we first arrived immediately we were told we had 90 minutes for the table which I have never experienced in a restaurant and I work as a server. Pretty off putting. Secondly the guacamole was $18 and pretty small. When I went to ask for a box my friend next to me said that the person refilling the waters had spilled a ton of water into the guac which I guess I didn't notice after I had a little too much margarita. I then saw all the water in the guac but I figured I can just not package that part. Instead they package it for me and leave the water in .
