My friend and I literally stumbled upon this cocktail speakeasy. After getting Ramen at a nearby spot in Chinatown, we decided we wanted to find somewhere to get drinks. After a quick search on line, we came upon the alley and saw a few people entering and leaving and you, this is where we were supposed to be. After looking on the website, we saw the number to call. For the two of us on a Friday night the weight was about 30 minutes and the hostess took our name down and walked us through to get to sit at the nearby restaurant while we waited. Once inside we got a text shortly after saying that there was standing room available. Taking a look at the menu there were a lot of different options of craft cocktails, that were very unique. I love that the QR code took you to an extensive menu, including beer and wine and nonalcoholic options and, spirit forward, more refreshing drinks. We ordered the espresso martini like drink and I got the mint drink which was super refreshing. The decor was interesting. It was like a mashup between a record store/prohibition vibe. We both liked our drinks. This would be a cool date spot for friends, a small group or a date. the drink prices weren't too outrageous for a speakeasy in the city. The treat we received when signing the bill were cute, but they weren't edible so it was more for the vibe lol read more

It's rare find speakeasy bar in Boston. OFFSUIT offers great vibe, service and cocktails! Their cocktail selections are creative and great taste, which is not easy to get! I had two cocktails, both are good and definitely wanna visit again. Already recommended to many of my friends. read more

This was my favorite speakeasy experience, not just in Boston - but anywhere. We went on a Friday night, found the door, called the number. The guy (GM?) estimated a 2 hour wait, so walked around Chinatown and got a snack and drink while we waited. We were called in after 90 minutes. Place is absolutely gorgeous on the inside. Big taxidermy Water Buffalo on the wall, candle lights everywhere, great music. We were given some tasty complementary mini-drinks to start. Wait staff was friendly, warm and attentive. The bar program here is next level. The cocktails were very impressive . We also had some food - fried pig ears, lobster roll and the double burger. All of it was delicious and outstanding. Zero complaints. Only thing I might change is add the ability to make a reservation online (like Backbar), but I'm sure they have their reasons why not. read more

Loved it. The drinks, the staff, the intimate atmosphere. I am going out on a limb here but I believe they have one of the best espresso martinis in Boston. Overall the cocktail program is great. My only small critique is that it is a bit of a pain to get in on a weekend, I'd recommend going in for a weekday drink to avoid the hassle. read more

I was impressed with the interior of the place, I enjoyed the music and drinks a lot, however if you're wanting to go here, you should make a reservation. We waited almost two hours to get in without one. It is also very loud in there, so if you're bringing a group, don't expect to be able to converse a whole lot. read more

Incredible spot for cocktails. Small, intimate, cozy. You feel like you're the only ones there, but not in an awkward way! Perfect lighting and noise level. Drink menu was unique and all our cocktails were fantastic. Particular liked the Stilleto which features a smooth fruity taste (passion fruit, vanilla). Cocktails are all $16 which reflects the quality! Reservations are now accepted which is awesome - we got in right away for ours (6:45 on a Thursday). read more

Great Espresso Martini and even better Ambiance! This is a great adventure to take friends to or even go on a date. It might be a little bit tricky to find, but it is well worth the search. The address leads you to a back alley where you have to find the not-so-obvious "5" on the door and then give them a call. I went on a Thursday around 5:30PM, and they were able to squeeze us in without a reservation. The minute you cross the curtain it's like you've stepped into another world. They've clearly thought out every design choice, the lighting, and the names of all of the drinks on the menu. The espresso martini was great! Strong drinks are always a plus when they're as pricey as these drinks are. I'll definitely be back soon, and I'm looking forward to trying some of their food next time :) read more

Baller speakeasy! I can't get over the Kanye west music theme. This place is tough to find. You'll have to walk through an alley but look for the black door. The drinks here are great. My friends and I ordered a variety of drinks. One of my favorite drinks was a hard bargain. It was really a walk on the beach. Check this place out - it's a legit speakeasy. Gabby took excellent care of us. She knew exactly what to order. read more

Very cool speakeasy that you enter from a back alley. It's dark inside with red walls and interesting art on the walls. Feels like you're walking into an illegal establishment (it is not). The cocktail menu is very creative and all the drinks we had were great. I would recommend coming here and putting your name on the waitlist and then getting dinner nearby (they text you when your table is ready) since you can't make reservations in advance. Can't wait to come back here! read more

Highly recommend coming to OFFSUIT for cocktails! I came on a weekday around 7:30pm and did not have to wait for a seat. OFFSUIT has a very relaxing vibe with soft music playing in the background -- a great place to sip some drinks and chat! The cocktails were very unique and delicious. In comparison, food was good but not amazing. If you're hungry, it's not a bad place to order some small bites but won't be as outstanding as the cocktails! read more

This is exactly the type of spot that Boston has always been missing: a legit craft cocktail bar, with speakeasy-vibes, that's super dark, and romantic. Offsuit is the perfect spot to impress a date, or for couples who hired a babysitter for the night. The bar snacks were no afterthoughts, to boot. They crispy pig ears and meat skewers were both perfection. read more

Cool speakeasy for delicious drinks and ambiance. Need to call the phone number on the door to get in.

AMBIENCE: - Dimly light with real candles. The tables were close together to give a cozy feel, although the music was loud enough to allow privacy in conversations SERVICE: - As always, Matt is an amazing host. Two of my friends were visiting from Cali and 1 of them only had the 1 night with us, and I chose this place to bring him to. And Matt did not disappoint. The tequila shot he presented to us LITERALLY wowed my friend. Right when he sipped it he said out loud "wow". It was so good that we ended up ordering another round and my 2 friends ordered a cocktail version of it as their last drink. FOOD/DRINKS: - Hard Bargain = Never really heard of rye before and decided to take a leap of faith since I trust this place with their alcohol. And what a favorite. The passionfruit and falernum syrup takes me back on a beach in the Caribbean. - Opening Ceremony = I'm a fan of ginger - and when I say a fan, I mean it. Most ginger drinks are not strong enough for me so I definitely questioned Matt about it when I put in the order. But they did deliver. They must use fresh ginger juice to get that flavor out. It gave a slight heat to the drink afterward, which I loved and was always a sign to me that they used a good amount of ginger. It was not as as sweet as the Hard Bargain but just as good. This might be one of my favorites drinks now! If only I could order this at other places too! - Round House = Damnnnn is this drink strong or is this drink strong? Offsuit is definitely one of the places where you get your bang for your buck when it comes to alcohol but this was one was a kicker. My friend got slightly tipsy from this alone (I would suggest it if you like drinks neat). You could still appreciate the earl gray, which lingers like an afterthought. The 5 spice was also interesting and gave a slight heat as you sip on it. OVERVIEW: - I always thought I was a gin lover but man, I think Matt might have converted me to rye. The 2 drinks I ordered hit the spot perfectly and they were the envy of my guests after they had a sip of mine compared to what they ordered. - This is my 2nd visit here and they have definitely earned themselves a life long patron. - Recommended: Opening Ceremony (ginger loves only), Hard Bargain read more

Watch out Boston there's a relatively new and intimate speak easy in town! Capacity is limited; 20 seats! So be prepared to get there early and put your name on the waiting list! It's well worth the wait! Located at the back streets of Chinatown, you have to go through Utica St (an alley) and find door "5" there will be telephone number posted and you gotta call them for them to open the door for you. When I went the waitlist was around 4 hrs, but there was a ton of cancellations and got in around 2 hrs. Intimate setting, dim lights, and stiff drinks; perfect for a date night. Once we got in we were given a complimentary cocktail shot- I'm not sure if this is their regular practice, but it was well received. Best espresso martini I have ever had! It's sweet (not too sweet) and creamy, the alcohol content was great and there was a minimal bitter after taste. It does contain nuts and milk- so if you are allergic or extremely lactose intolerant I'm sorry you can only live vicariously through your friends. For food we tried the following: OFFSUIT HASH BROWNS, CRISPY PIGS EARS, DOUBLE BURGER, and CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES. The hash browns were crispy on the outside like a croquette and ridiculously soft and smooth in the inside. The inside was creamy like mash potatoes, but a little harder consistency than tofu. I thought the pig ears were too sweet for me. They were chopped up like long and skinny French fries. Super crunchy as you would expect. I think it's adequate for a party of 3 or more. I think for a party of two it's a little too sweet. The double burger was great, bun was nice and toasty, the patties I wished were more evenly seasoned with salt- the edges was really salty where as the middle was just perfect, the candied bacon in it was just the right amount of sweet for me and it didn't take away from the rest of the burger. I almost forgot to mention- the fries were spot on. Perfect crispness , some where a little salty than others, but that's what the ketchup was for. The finale- the chocolate chip cookie! The cookies were amazing, my only complaint is that they both weren't soft :(. One cookie was significantly harder than the other including the middle portion of it. The milk does have alcohol in it- I think rum? I'll be back again! read more

Soooo mixed review. To start: great location and cool entrance. The vibe inside isn't too exciting or prohibition swanky. But it's cozy. The menu is better than the cocktails themselves but certainly nothing to complain about, had three and they were all delicious. Unfortunately, the service was horrendous.....no, flat out aggressively disrespectful. We had a reservation for 2 at 630. At 715 the waitress told us that they needed the table and we'd have to leave. When I protested, she said that everyone gets 90min and we could finish our drinks at the standing table. 90min was perfect as I had an 8pm reservation at O Ya......but was rudely reminded that one person in the party showed up at 6pm and so we were rapidly approaching our 90min threshold. But the kicker was that the waitress needed to make room for "walk ins". Walk ins....people who could have easily started their experience at the standing table and taken our seat when we left. Needless to say we didn't leave and we ordered another round from the manager. But when the waitress came over to give the cocktails to us, she couldn't help herself, with a very condensending and "FU" tone said "luckily another table paid warily so you can stay at the table and finish your last round". I may return. The cocktails were good. But I refuse to be served by that waitress again at the risk of saying / doing something that I'd regret. Nobody. Especially a paying customer should be spoken to and treated like that. read more

The interior is cute! Can also be described as cozy. Reminds me of speakeasy in Manhattan. The prices are a couple bucks cheaper to NYC but the drinks are just as good. To be honest I can really only recall the first two drinks - the several other drinks that followed was a slight blur. Before the drinks made me all fuzzy, I do remember the food being decent as well for a cocktail bar. The skewers were disappointing, the meat too charred. The lobster rolls were tiny but delicious bites. The crispy pig ears was delicious - crunchy! My favorite was the hash browns. We basically ordered everything on the menu otherwise I would've never experienced those hash browns - so simple but I don't know why it was just so good. Before you assume I must be crazy due to the number of cocktails I consumed that night, all my friends there can also attest to the deliciousness of these heavenly hash browns. Love the atmosphere, the service, the owner recommended delicious drinks based on what each of us liked he even threw in a free drink for us. It's a long wait for a table but if you have time - it's worth the visit. read more

Super cool environment, drinks might have been the worst I've ever had anywhere. It was almost like a blind person was behind the bar, just dumping whatever he grabbed into drinks. The weirdest combination of flavors I've ever tasted. I literally had to hold my nose while I tried to chug the drink. Maybe they can learn that not everything has to taste like Ramen noodles. read more

A very very cool spot tucked behind another great restaurant (Troquet). To enter, you have to go into an alleyway and call a number written on the door. A little hard to find but it shouldn't be too difficult. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this place-- vampire den vibes. The space is also very nice and intimate-- good place to come with a small group (2-4ppl). Everyone is so nice and I'll definitely be recommending offsuit to friends. There is usually quite a long wait (1-1.5hours), but you can spend them in the restaurant (Troquet) attached to offsuit and get some food where the service is also great. Will definitely come back to this place!! read more

A little overpriced in my opinion. However, beautiful lounge with great music. Very cool option to mix up your night life within Boston.

Great new spot! Hidden away in an alley in the Leather District behind the also fantastic restaurant Troquet on South is Offsuit. Matt & the rest of the crew here are really on the ball when it comes to drinks and atmosphere. It's a weird time to be alive so you might as well enjoy yourself as much as you can. This is a tiny cocktail bar with dim lighting that looks like something out of a noir movie where you start the night off with a tasty drink (hand carved ice in the glass is a smart move might I add) and end the night with a few scars, a suitcase full of cash and the need to explain why your finger prints are on a gun. I believe there is a time limit for your stay at Offsuit right now while they work around the Covid restrictions, but they are pretty generous about it. Walk into the alley and call the number on the door labeled "5" and you'll be all set. read more

A rough start but we ended up having a decent visit. OFFSUIT was recommended to us by a bartender at another establishment. We made a reservation for a Saturday night. Getting in was easy as I saw pics of what the door looked like and called the number. We were seated right away, given a QR code for the menu and glasses of water. And then we sat and waited for almost 30 minutes. I watched servers go to all the tables around us but no one came to check on us. We contemplated leaving but I flagged down the hostess and asked if there was someone that we could order a drink from. She genuinely seemed surprised that we hadn't been helped and immediately took our drink order but there was no apology. We had planned on ordering dinner but decided to wait to see how the drinks were. Fortunately our drinks were delicious. We ended up ordering burgers with our second round and those were tasty although on the smallish side. Fries were plentiful, hot and tasty. Drinks were the definitely the star. The Hired Gun and Broken Jaw were our favorites. In addition to our slow start one other thing that was a bit of a downside to our visit was that the servers did not seem to want to discuss the drinks. I always like getting drink recommendations when we go out and I like it when the bartender or server is excited about their craft/product. I just felt like they gave rather short responses when I asked questions, placed drinks and left. But overall I'd definitely like to go back and I'm hoping that our slow start was just a one time issue. read more

I'm hesitant to review this place because it's one of my favorite spots and I'd hate to have competition ;). But honestly I can't help but rave about this place and wish for their best success. Nestled in the most unsuspecting of alleyways deep in Chinatown, Offsuit boasts personalized handcrafted cocktails in an intimate setting that seats 4-5 parties. We've had Mika as our bartender and she consistently shows remarkable experience in her attention to detail, expansive repertoire, and creativity. I've previously had the pleasure of experiencing her drinks at Sound Advice before they closed due to the pandemic. I'm so glad she's able to continue to showcase her talents despite the constraints of this trying year. Sharing a kitchen with Troquet, Offsuit also serves excellent food that includes tasty appetizers and a handful of satisfying mains. Pictured here is the pow pow shrimp, which was superb. I wish I took a picture of the burger which was the best I've had in a long time. At a previous visit, we also had the pork chop sandwich and skewers, which were all excellent. Be sure to have the warm gooey chocolate chip cookies paired with an "adult" warm milk, which is a drink all in itself. Thank you so much to the wonderful staff who give us an incredible experience every time, we can't wait to come back. read more

We just got here at 11:50. It closes at 1:00. The lady at the door was rude. The places had no line at all. She said she couldn't let us in before last call (not even for one drink). We came all the way from California to be turned away when there was over 1 hour left until closing. We called yesterday and asked why we couldn't make reservations for 6 and they man said said they only make reservations for 4, but to make a note online and walk over, and we could get in. Obviously, he lied. Glad I didn't give them my hard earned money. You ruined our end of our night. Do not recommend! Hopefully the door lady will understand the power of word of mouth and Yelp! Take you money somewhere else folks!!!! Try being kinder door lady and be more apologetic. read more

We went here after all the "renovation" aka the entire crew was new. As said in all the reviews, the drinks were amazing! The end.

Drinks were good, definitely a better choice in Boston but i wouldn't say it blew my mind.
