This is a great speakeasy that was fun to get lost and try to find. It is definitely not in an obvious spot but that's what makes it so interesting. I will try to not spoil it in this review. I recommend a reservation since it can get busy but we went early so we only had to wait a little bit. When you walk in, you will notice the ambiance and great decorations with red color and little spots of art work all over the walls. It is dimly lit and a great spot for a date night. The service was great and extremely nice. They were willing to explain all their drinks, which were quite interesting. I had the tuxedo connection and it was such a great and interesting drink. It had shiitake mushrooms and clarified butter pecan ice cream. It was such a fun little spot that I would visit again and try out for their other drinks.
INSANE ambiance--sultry red interior with fun little decorations and art pieces that make for a great date spot or late night yap sesh. Bathroom is past a door leading to a connecting restaurant, clean single occupancy bathrooms. Awesome service with regular check ins that didn't feel overbearing or pressuring. Our servers (had two come by in turns) were super friendly, patient, and gave recommendations that showed their drink expertise. My friend and I loved the charcuterie board! It came with four different cheeses (brie, blue cheese, cheddar, and maybe manchego?), horseradish mustard, blueberry compote, assorted nuts, three types of meat (two salami type meats + a thicker pâté-like meat), and two types of bread (white bread + bread with berries?). A bit pricey at $49, but kept us nibbling the whole time. For drinks, we started with Cure for Immortality (my drink, 8.5/10) and Hired Gun (friend's drink, 5/10). My drink was your classic sweet+fruity profile with pretty presentation served over crushed ice; points docked for not being as sweet as I would've liked. My friend's drink had salt on the rim, the drink itself reminded me of tomatoes?? Was too savory for me, but my friend liked it as a strong drink enthusiast. We then got two espresso martinis bc it was the most popular drink on Yelp, and expectations were SURPASSED. Definitely the cleanest espresso martini I've ever had with the perfect balance of espresso flavor and detectable but not overbearing alcohol flavor. 10/10 would recommend!!
Such a cool speakeasy! You have the call the number on the door outside and the staff will let you in. I definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time if possible. We came at an off-time so we got seated as a walk-in. The place is super intimate and doesn't have too many seats so we just got lucky with our walk-in. I love how they spin vinyls (when we came they were playing r&b hip hop with artists like Anderson Paak and Wiz Khalifa - love it here already). They also have creative menus. There's the sip me slowly (very strong on the booze, be sure to sip it slowly lol) and kill me quickly (easier to drink). My friend and I both got the Appletini from the sip me slowly menu and boy do they make their drinks STRONG. Such a vibe here!
I was only able to have one drink here, unfortunately. I walked in on a random Wednesday after work (around 5:30) before I was meeting my friend for hot pot in Chinatown. The place was dark and had speak-easy vibes (yes, you should look up with there door in the alley is), being dimly lit with big comfortable chairs around small round tables. I ordered the Apple F'ing Martini because I forgot those existed (hello, college!) and the menu promised it was going to be delicious. It was! I really wanted to stay for an espresso martini, but was already running late for dinner. Offsuit is about a 15 min walk from work, so I will definitely be back for more cocktails!
This is a lovely speakeasy! We have to call the number to get it which I thought was very cool. We had a reservation. The aesthetic was beautiful inside. It has dim red lighting through with amazing bops playing on the radio. Came here on a date night which was perfect because it provides those intimate vibes. The tuxedo connection was delicious. It was on the sweeter side and had clarified butter pecan ice cream which I thought was so creative to add to the drink. The cure for immortality was tangy and citrus. Overall, I had a great time and would love to come back
Oh I adore this place. What is more fun than walking down an alley and calling the number that was printed on a label maker and stuck to the door or the building. They open the door right away. We were seated immediately. The vibe is very cool. The cocktail menu is impressive and I can't wait to go back to try more. In addition to cocktails we also tried the truffle grilled cheese uncrustable which was extravagant. We were able to just walk in and get a table on a Thursday evening around 5:15pm. You should go! I highly recommend offsuit as one of the best speakeasies and cocktail bars in Boston
We had a few drinks. They were good, but not great. The strawberry margarita was stronger than normal, so you could taste the alcohol good for those who like a strong drink not so much for those who prefer the more fruitier taste Guns for hire at larceny bourbon and some Mezcal, but you don't taste nothing but tequila which I wasn't terrible, but it wasn't when I was wanting It's definitely a speakeasy so that part is ultra cool you got a call never knock the ambience is eclectic. The music was great though they played good music. It was enjoyable. Somebody had ordered brussels sprouts right next to us and the snow was killing my vibe. Service was good no complaints.
Finally checked this speakeasy off the list! It definitely felt like a real speakeasy with the entrance being hard to find/unmarked. The ambiance and vibes were great. The cheeseburger & fries were delicious. For drinks, I tried the Vibe Check which kind of tasted like a key lime pie and baking spices, but less sweet, I really enjoyed it! I also got their espresso martini which was a 10/10 as well. It's a perfect date night spot or place to catch up with a friend!
Hubby and I wandered around until we made it to the secret door marked with "5" on it. Our Uber driver had dropped me on the other side (the restaurant) but thankfully we eventually made it. So glad I didn't wear heels and that my hubby's eyesight is much better than mine lol. We were seated in a cute little area in the back where the guy who seated us said that if we needed help, a few of them would be "wandering around" but it took a while that I wondered if we had to go up to the bar to get our own drinks? Eventually we were able to order our first round. I went with the Appletini and hubby got a zero proof drink which tasted a lot like it had the herbal Seedlip in it. The Appletini was good but definitely learned towards an actual martini than the usual "apple martini" - I was warned! We also ended up ordering the wasabi marinated cantaloupe and marinated olives. I loved the cantaloupe. I'm not usually one to like fruit but this savory version was really good, especially with the topping of furikake. On the other hand, the olives tasted extra salty. We half about 1/3 of them and left the rest for the speakeasy gods. Round two for me was Cash Only, from the easy drinking side. It turned out really vegetally which I expected. The drink grew on me and I ended really liking it a lot. The music was really loud which isn't really my vibe in a speakeasy. But overall, this was a nice stop with great drinks.
A cool speakeasy in an alleyway that I probably wouldn't have found if it weren't for my coworkers. It's a small cozy spot but their menu was so fun! I got a nonalcoholic cocktail, Lip Service, which was a little bitter for me. Once the ice melted, it was more enjoyable. Definitely a unique spot to hang out in!
5 Stars for a hidden little cocktail bar that's worth the mildly terrifying alley entrance for the ambiance and drinks you'll find inside! Ok so first thing's first. Follow the map directions and know that it'll take you into an alley (that smells of human urine) to an unmarked door with a tiny sticker that instructs you to call, not knock. Give them a quick call and you'll be let in to a dark, vibey speakeasy-style cocktail bar that looks like it might only fit 15 people max (though, looks can be deceiving as I counted more seats later on). Our server took us to our seats- plush leather armchairs across a small rounded table from one another. The bar is candle-lit and was the perfect pick after I told my husband I wanted to find somewhere "moody" for a pre-dinner drink and bites. I ordered their signature espresso fucking martini as well as the spiced nuts and the Burrata toast. The nuts were flavored with an Asian five spice and were totally addictive. Especially the hazelnuts! But the star was definitely the Burrata toast. The bread was charred and the Burrata with covered in pine nuts, green onions, and a healthy amount of olive oil. Yes to all of this! Overall, it was a great spot and I'd definitely return next time I'm in town.
Cool speakeasy, it was fun finding it in an alleyway. Super low key date spot with the most comfortable chairs, excellent craft cocktails, and hype music. Service was great, our waitress was quick and on point. We were able to get a quick drink and catch the commuter rail home. Lost in translation is exactly what the name says. I don't know how those flavors come out from mixing those ingredients. Impossible odds was delicious. I would definitely order this one, but it is small. The oil on the top really sends this one home! read more
Couldn't figure out where to enter and we wound up being let in from the back/dumpster area (smelly on a 99° night). Inside is a cute space with interesting decor. Not a fan of string lights in a place where cocktails average $18-$20 but that's just me. My Permission to be Candid was good, but not so good I'd order it again. My partner's Switchblade (subbed out gin with vodka since I'm allergic to Juniper) was also good, but I expected it taste more "green" with the cryo watermelon and absinthe in it. The candy cigarettes we were given after paying the tab were a cute touch. We had fun trying to blow smoke. Overall it's a nice spot to grab a drink. The menu (online only) is not very user friendly - this is coming from a retired UI/UX and web designer. Having to click back and forth to get to each category of drinks is crazy. Especially when the drinks are very unique and have a list of ingredients. A nice coated paper version (like large playing cards?) would be much appreciated. read more
The entire experience at Offsuit is effortlessly cool from the moment you arrive. There's a specific way to get in (IYKYK) that isn't a hassle at all -- it just perfectly sets the tone and leans into the speakeasy vibe. Once inside, the space is cozy and dimly lit, with bartenders spinning vinyl and the current record displayed above the bar. The seating is close enough to feel intimate whether you're on a date or with a small group, but the music is dialed in just right -- loud enough for atmosphere, quiet enough to still have a conversation without overhearing the tables next to you. The cocktails are outstanding. What really stands out is how creative they are -- unique flavor combinations that feel thoughtful and well-balanced. If you're someone who actually appreciates craft cocktails (and not just ordering a Jack and Coke), this place will absolutely hit. Perfect for a date when you want to look cool, or a small group of four you want to impress. I'd come back in a heartbeat. read more

Bada** cocktail bar for sure. Be prepared to feel like you might disappear in the alley trying to find this place though. We couldn't see the sign and legit ran another bell of what I assumed was a closed office space? Omg. Anyways, thank god another couple came along and went to the CORRECT back door so we saw where to go. Definitely grab reservations, the couple in front of us were quoted 2 hours for a spot. We were seated promptly upon checking into our reservation. He sat us in the back room. I would have rather sat in the front room with the bar but will request that next time. Drinks were strong and fabulous. We'll definitely be back for a nightcap! read more
Offsuit may be the most convincing speakeasy I've ever been to, with the entrance being quite hard to find in a semi-untrustworthy alley. However once you find your way inside you'll find some of the most interesting and impressive cocktails. Some of these ingredients I guarantee you will never have seen such as the mushrooms in the Tuxedo Connection or the burnt tortilla in Hired Gun. Some of the highlights for our night was the Tuxedo Connection, Vibe Check, and Cure for Immortality. This place is the real deal and I would definitely stop here again. read more

Speakeasy hidden in Boston! (Was a bit hard to find the entrance I guess they succeeded in terms of being hard to find as a speakeasy!) The inside was very cool and had a nice classy feel. The service was a bit slow but it was fine! Definitely make a reservation before coming since the space is very small. The drinks all have very cool names, both of the drinks we got were a bit on the stronger side. I wasn't a huge fan of the cocktails but the experience was very cool and would recommend you check it out if you're looking for a cool speakeasy in Boston. read more
Was taking a breather between a few meetings with clients and decided to stop by Offsuit to grab a few drinks. This joint is tucked away in an alley and does the "speakeasy" concept. You make reservations and then you have to find the location (refer to pictures from other yelpers) and you are brought into a dark swanky room with folks giving attentive service to enjoy some fun cocktails. The menu is fun and has punchy titles ("kill me quickly" , sip me slowly, etc.) The combinations are fun and the cocktails are strong. Love this concept and love how snazzy and low key it was. Definitely a great spot if you are looking for this vibe. The one item is the food felt a bit less unique vs the cocktails but go for the cocktails and stumble out carefully read more

this is just the cutest speakeasy in the world not only is the decor beautiful the music they play is absolutely amazing. Lots of hip hop and rnb and stuff that a Gen Z myself would listen to. The espresso martinis are top tier and don't come on an empty stomach because the drinks will kill you. although the drinks are on the pricier end, it's around $18. You get what you pay for and those drinks are STRONG. read more
I loved this place. Speakeasies have become quite trendy but can't back it up with creative drinks. These bartenders definitely know what they are doing. I like to hit the classics -- a good Negroni or Old Fashioned. They nailed both. Nice romantic atmosphere for a date. Food is a bit meh -- but that's not why I went. read more
Loved the ambiance! Intimate space, seating for maybe 20 people is available! Friendly bartenders! One of the more interesting to find speakeasies I've been to! Amazing drinks! A very secluded speakeasy tucked away not too far from Chinatown and behind the French restaurant Troquet. We weren't sure if we were even gonna get in since we didn't have reservations, but decided to test our luck. There isn't anything notable or recognizable on the door except the number 5, so fear not if you think you're not at the right spot. We tried calling to see if we could get in, but to our dismay didn't get an answer after a couple of attempts. After a little fidgeting with the door (to which we learned was pretty useless because the door is actually covered by a curtain when you're inside), we were ready to give up and leave. Luckily, someone finally came out and found us. We got pretty lucky that they weren't busy yet on a Friday night and managed to get a table. The seating isn't ideal for groups over 4 people, but perfect for pairs. They have a QR code to scan for their menu. I liked how they sectioned their menus with cocktails separated as "Kill Me Quickly" or "Sip Me Slowly". The Kill me Quicklys seemed a lot stronger to me and were drinks that you could drink quicker (as the name denotes). The Sip me Slowly were smaller drinks that you could take your time with, but their tastes slowly built up over time. My favorite drink had to be the Vibe Check which was capped with salted yogurt. All their drinks were pretty interesting, unique and priced at $16. We also ordered some shishito peppers to share and to my surprise, they actually gave a looot. The shishito peppers were seasoned well with a citric salt of some sort and very easy to eat with the drinks. As the night progressed, we started to see more people trickle in and I could see how busy this place could get. The menu is very straightforward and they deliver in all aspects of food and drinks. This would be a really cute date spot or somewhere to go when you want to impress your friends but not overdo it LOL read more
If you take a friend, a date, or an SO here, ensure you trust each other. Otherwise, they might be spooked by the alley you brought them to. There is no sign on the door, only a small placard that asks to keep the noise down. Once you find it, call, and they'll let you in. As far as speakeasies go, this 'arrangement' is hard to beat! Inside, the vibe is intimate. The tables are small, yet not crowded together. The chairs are comfy, and the lighting is dim (and half by candlelight!). It reminds me of a study. Some artifacts collected when traveling and hunting were books, a few paintings, a small chandelier, a fireplace, and a mirror or two. However, this is done tastefully, feels thoughtful, and is not like the weird mishmash that was my freshman dorm wall from college. For food, I had the opportunity to try the Crab Deviled Eggs and the Smash Burger. The Deviled Eggs are thoroughly unremarkable. The minuscule amount of lump crab and dot of some sauce does nothing to elevate the dish from a bland, mundane, deviled egg. Burger is a bit better. First, they actually season the meat (so many places do not, and it's a travesty). The sauce and onion jam paired with the patty very nicely as well. I wish the edges had that caramelized crispness you find in smashed burgers. The veggies were nothing special except that the tomato was quite wet. Yes, I realize tomatoes are mostly water, though this felt like it moonlights as an umbrella! Though the burger is solid, the food seems to be on the menu solely for you to have the option to not drink on an empty stomach. This is not a place you go to eat. That brings us to the drinks! Their cocktail menus (yes, plural) are approachable and inventive. These are Kill Me Quickly and Sip Me Slowly. If I understand, the former contains drinks more towards the refreshing side, whereas the latter is more spirit-forward. This time around, I tried the Espresso F*****g Martini and the Six Second Rule. Espresso Martini was great! The espresso was not overpowering but still added great flavor. There was a good level of sweetness, and while it didn't seem highly spirit-forward, the booze was definitely there. The Six Second Rule was unique and exciting. Like the espresso martini, the spirit was there, but not in your face. For lack of a better term, it was a bit garden-y thanks to the watermelon rind, tomato vermouth, and basil oil. Some months earlier, I had a Hired Gun. While I don't have specific tasting notes, the theme is the same. A unique, well-balanced cocktail. From what I've experienced, their drinks are smooth, balanced across the board, and use high-quality spirits without charging an arm and a leg (all cocktails are $16). Finally, the service is friendly, welcoming, and appropriately speedy. While this may not become my regular bar, it will be a place I return to work through their menu one or two drinks at a time. read more

This place is hidden in an alley in china town - the entire time we were trying to find it I was convinced we were going the wrong way. This hipster speakeasy was a fun place to get cocktails. We didn't make a reservation since it was a week day and didn't have any issues getting in but I suggest making one if you were to visit on a weekend. Drinks were a bit pricey (16-18 USD each) but this is typical of a speakeasy. Staff were friendly and welcoming! read more

We didn't get reservations ahead so we had to wait around 40 minutes which wasn't too bad since the expected wait time can go until 2 hours. Always a great experience when I visit Boston. The staff is always friendly and helped us grab a table for 3. I love all the different options and unique drinks to choose from. We had the smash burger which was great even to the fries they came with. The drinks were strong but they mixed them so well in a way where you didn't feel a burn. I loved the speakeasy atmosphere and just like a speak easy it can be hard to find. They recommend setting a reservation and giving them a call so some one will come out to guide you. Love finding speakeasies everywhere I go. Just love the attention to detail and honestly the service is always above average. Such a cool little place in Chinatown. Don't knock, make sure you call when you arrive! The door is marked with a 5. Good drinks and a cute spot for a date night! read more
I stumbled across this place by accident after looking for somewhere to grab a drink after an appointment nearby. Now that I know more about it, I'm feeling so lucky that I just walked right in! Offsuit is a tiny little speakeasy in an alley way. Apple maps will get you there, but the attached photo might help you find the exact door you're looking for. You have to call when you arrive instead of walking in or knocking, the number is listed online and on a little piece of paper by the door. I went around 4pm on a Saturday, so RIGHT after they opened, and was able to get a spot for 2 at the communal standing table. It was already full otherwise, and it seemed like almost everyone else had a reservation. I would definitely make one if you can, I've since learned that the wait times can be crazy. We loooved all the drinks we tried. We had the Trick of the Light, Opening Ceremony, and two of the Espresso F'ing Martinis. The Trick of the Light was definitely the most unique, and the Espresso Martinis had a nice hint of almond in them that I was really into. The menu has much more adventurous options on it (there's a mezcal cocktail with burnt tortilla and sour cream in it - enough said) that I'm saving for the next time I visit. You're looking at $16 a cocktail, which isn't great, but the drinks are quality and I've been to plenty Boston cocktail bars where the prices are all $20 and up. The vibe is really cozy and intimate with very cool decor - definitely a romantic date spot if you're in the market for one. No complaints, just wish I found it sooner! read more

THE VIBES!!! THE DATE NIGHT!!! THE WAIT TIME!! Wait time wasn't actually too bad, we were quoted 90 minutes but they texted me back in 45!!! On the website they say most seats are for walk ins so don't feel obligated to make a resy! For directions, if you're in the alley, keep going until you see a door with a 5 on it. Call the number, and that is basically their doorbell. Drinks were delicious. Aesthetic, and very complex in flavor and preparation. Come by! read more
I'm not usually a cute cocktail person, but this place is legit! It lives up to the hype in terms of the speakeasy vibes. You walk in through a back alley and the only way to really find the building is to look for the number on the door. There's a phone number listed to call someone to open the door. The space itself is really cool, with dim lighting and eccentric decorations. The cocktail menu was really interesting and funky. The staff were knowledgeable and provided drink recommendations based on our preferences. A lot of the drinks had some ingredients you wouldn't expect, but there are tons of choices, so there's something for everyone. We tried the Velvet Revolver, Hired Gun, and Downpour. The Downpour was my favorite, with a combination of tropical flavors that reminded me of vacation. I'd recommend if you're looking for good vibes and solid drinks. read more
