Really cool speakeasy spot! Love the names of the drinks and overall vibe. Bartenders are also very good at what they do.
This place is cool I will give you that. We went up to abandon door in alley and had to squint to see a sign that said Never knock always call. We did and she opened door and ushered us in. Cool vibe tiny and nicely lit. The menus themed were reckons cards and is only in QR code. I tried the snap pea one and the vibe check. The vibe check was delish and has a salted yogurt on it. So good. Interesting vibe I was def one of the oldest people inside but hey that's me. Gotta love a fun cocktail. Would go back if they had rotated menu out
The entire experience at Offsuit is effortlessly cool from the moment you arrive. There's a specific way to get in (IYKYK) that isn't a hassle at all -- it just perfectly sets the tone and leans into the speakeasy vibe. Once inside, the space is cozy and dimly lit, with bartenders spinning vinyl and the current record displayed above the bar. The seating is close enough to feel intimate whether you're on a date or with a small group, but the music is dialed in just right -- loud enough for atmosphere, quiet enough to still have a conversation without overhearing the tables next to you. The cocktails are outstanding. What really stands out is how creative they are -- unique flavor combinations that feel thoughtful and well-balanced. If you're someone who actually appreciates craft cocktails (and not just ordering a Jack and Coke), this place will absolutely hit. Perfect for a date when you want to look cool, or a small group of four you want to impress. I'd come back in a heartbeat.
This is a great speakeasy that was fun to get lost and try to find. It is definitely not in an obvious spot but that's what makes it so interesting. I will try to not spoil it in this review. I recommend a reservation since it can get busy but we went early so we only had to wait a little bit. When you walk in, you will notice the ambiance and great decorations with red color and little spots of art work all over the walls. It is dimly lit and a great spot for a date night. The service was great and extremely nice. They were willing to explain all their drinks, which were quite interesting. I had the tuxedo connection and it was such a great and interesting drink. It had shiitake mushrooms and clarified butter pecan ice cream. It was such a fun little spot that I would visit again and try out for their other drinks.
Go find the alley where this place is located. It will be worth your time! Great service and beautiful and delicious cocktails. The vibe is also perfect for close friends and special nights.
INSANE ambiance--sultry red interior with fun little decorations and art pieces that make for a great date spot or late night yap sesh. Bathroom is past a door leading to a connecting restaurant, clean single occupancy bathrooms. Awesome service with regular check ins that didn't feel overbearing or pressuring. Our servers (had two come by in turns) were super friendly, patient, and gave recommendations that showed their drink expertise. My friend and I loved the charcuterie board! It came with four different cheeses (brie, blue cheese, cheddar, and maybe manchego?), horseradish mustard, blueberry compote, assorted nuts, three types of meat (two salami type meats + a thicker pâté-like meat), and two types of bread (white bread + bread with berries?). A bit pricey at $49, but kept us nibbling the whole time. For drinks, we started with Cure for Immortality (my drink, 8.5/10) and Hired Gun (friend's drink, 5/10). My drink was your classic sweet+fruity profile with pretty presentation served over crushed ice; points docked for not being as sweet as I would've liked. My friend's drink had salt on the rim, the drink itself reminded me of tomatoes?? Was too savory for me, but my friend liked it as a strong drink enthusiast. We then got two espresso martinis bc it was the most popular drink on Yelp, and expectations were SURPASSED. Definitely the cleanest espresso martini I've ever had with the perfect balance of espresso flavor and detectable but not overbearing alcohol flavor. 10/10 would recommend!!
Couldn't figure out where to enter and we wound up being let in from the back/dumpster area (smelly on a 99° night). Inside is a cute space with interesting decor. Not a fan of string lights in a place where cocktails average $18-$20 but that's just me. My Permission to be Candid was good, but not so good I'd order it again. My partner's Switchblade (subbed out gin with vodka since I'm allergic to Juniper) was also good, but I expected it taste more "green" with the cryo watermelon and absinthe in it. The candy cigarettes we were given after paying the tab were a cute touch. We had fun trying to blow smoke. Overall it's a nice spot to grab a drink. The menu (online only) is not very user friendly - this is coming from a retired UI/UX and web designer. Having to click back and forth to get to each category of drinks is crazy. Especially when the drinks are very unique and have a list of ingredients. A nice coated paper version (like large playing cards?) would be much appreciated.
We love this speakeasy experience. It's a little hard to find since there are no signs, once you find the door you will find the next step. The drink names were fun and each drink is very creative. The ambiance is charming, old-school and cozy.
Such a cool speakeasy! You have the call the number on the door outside and the staff will let you in. I definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time if possible. We came at an off-time so we got seated as a walk-in. The place is super intimate and doesn't have too many seats so we just got lucky with our walk-in. I love how they spin vinyls (when we came they were playing r&b hip hop with artists like Anderson Paak and Wiz Khalifa - love it here already). They also have creative menus. There's the sip me slowly (very strong on the booze, be sure to sip it slowly lol) and kill me quickly (easier to drink). My friend and I both got the Appletini from the sip me slowly menu and boy do they make their drinks STRONG. Such a vibe here!
I was only able to have one drink here, unfortunately. I walked in on a random Wednesday after work (around 5:30) before I was meeting my friend for hot pot in Chinatown. The place was dark and had speak-easy vibes (yes, you should look up with there door in the alley is), being dimly lit with big comfortable chairs around small round tables. I ordered the Apple F'ing Martini because I forgot those existed (hello, college!) and the menu promised it was going to be delicious. It was! I really wanted to stay for an espresso martini, but was already running late for dinner. Offsuit is about a 15 min walk from work, so I will definitely be back for more cocktails!
This is a lovely speakeasy! We have to call the number to get it which I thought was very cool. We had a reservation. The aesthetic was beautiful inside. It has dim red lighting through with amazing bops playing on the radio. Came here on a date night which was perfect because it provides those intimate vibes. The tuxedo connection was delicious. It was on the sweeter side and had clarified butter pecan ice cream which I thought was so creative to add to the drink. The cure for immortality was tangy and citrus. Overall, I had a great time and would love to come back
Oh I adore this place. What is more fun than walking down an alley and calling the number that was printed on a label maker and stuck to the door or the building. They open the door right away. We were seated immediately. The vibe is very cool. The cocktail menu is impressive and I can't wait to go back to try more. In addition to cocktails we also tried the truffle grilled cheese uncrustable which was extravagant. We were able to just walk in and get a table on a Thursday evening around 5:15pm. You should go! I highly recommend offsuit as one of the best speakeasies and cocktail bars in Boston
We had a few drinks. They were good, but not great. The strawberry margarita was stronger than normal, so you could taste the alcohol good for those who like a strong drink not so much for those who prefer the more fruitier taste Guns for hire at larceny bourbon and some Mezcal, but you don't taste nothing but tequila which I wasn't terrible, but it wasn't when I was wanting It's definitely a speakeasy so that part is ultra cool you got a call never knock the ambience is eclectic. The music was great though they played good music. It was enjoyable. Somebody had ordered brussels sprouts right next to us and the snow was killing my vibe. Service was good no complaints.
Always a great experience when I visit Boston. The staff is always friendly and helped us grab a table for 3. I love all the different options and unique drinks to choose from. We had the smash burger which was great even to the fries they came with. The drinks were strong but they mixed them so well in a way where you didn't feel a burn. I loved the speakeasy atmosphere and just like a speak easy it can be hard to find. They recommend setting a reservation and giving them a call so some one will come out to guide you. Can't wait to come back and try the rest of their drinks. Enjoy! read more

This place is hidden in an alley in china town - the entire time we were trying to find it I was convinced we were going the wrong way. This hipster speakeasy was a fun place to get cocktails. We didn't make a reservation since it was a week day and didn't have any issues getting in but I suggest making one if you were to visit on a weekend. Drinks were a bit pricey (16-18 USD each) but this is typical of a speakeasy. Staff were friendly and welcoming! read more
I stumbled across this place by accident after looking for somewhere to grab a drink after an appointment nearby. Now that I know more about it, I'm feeling so lucky that I just walked right in! Offsuit is a tiny little speakeasy in an alley way. Apple maps will get you there, but the attached photo might help you find the exact door you're looking for. You have to call when you arrive instead of walking in or knocking, the number is listed online and on a little piece of paper by the door. I went around 4pm on a Saturday, so RIGHT after they opened, and was able to get a spot for 2 at the communal standing table. It was already full otherwise, and it seemed like almost everyone else had a reservation. I would definitely make one if you can, I've since learned that the wait times can be crazy. We loooved all the drinks we tried. We had the Trick of the Light, Opening Ceremony, and two of the Espresso F'ing Martinis. The Trick of the Light was definitely the most unique, and the Espresso Martinis had a nice hint of almond in them that I was really into. The menu has much more adventurous options on it (there's a mezcal cocktail with burnt tortilla and sour cream in it - enough said) that I'm saving for the next time I visit. You're looking at $16 a cocktail, which isn't great, but the drinks are quality and I've been to plenty Boston cocktail bars where the prices are all $20 and up. The vibe is really cozy and intimate with very cool decor - definitely a romantic date spot if you're in the market for one. No complaints, just wish I found it sooner! read more
I'm not usually a cute cocktail person, but this place is legit! It lives up to the hype in terms of the speakeasy vibes. You walk in through a back alley and the only way to really find the building is to look for the number on the door. There's a phone number listed to call someone to open the door. The space itself is really cool, with dim lighting and eccentric decorations. The cocktail menu was really interesting and funky. The staff were knowledgeable and provided drink recommendations based on our preferences. A lot of the drinks had some ingredients you wouldn't expect, but there are tons of choices, so there's something for everyone. We tried the Velvet Revolver, Hired Gun, and Downpour. The Downpour was my favorite, with a combination of tropical flavors that reminded me of vacation. I'd recommend if you're looking for good vibes and solid drinks. read more
3.5/5. It is actually one of the harder speakeasies to find. Chill cool ambience but with a time limit. Drinks are fine, some innovative like cash only, some regular. Not so good food menu, eat before you go. Parking is street, hit or miss. read more

THE VIBES!!! THE DATE NIGHT!!! THE WAIT TIME!! Wait time wasn't actually too bad, we were quoted 90 minutes but they texted me back in 45!!! On the website they say most seats are for walk ins so don't feel obligated to make a resy! For directions, if you're in the alley, keep going until you see a door with a 5 on it. Call the number, and that is basically their doorbell. Drinks were delicious. Aesthetic, and very complex in flavor and preparation. Come by! read more

Weird and wonderful. If you're glass is half empty human please stay home. If you want mystery adventure enter if you dare. If you're an entrepreneur you'll get it. Most unique place I've ever found. Great drinks and friendly staff. A bit hard to find don't give up. Find the alley and look for a black door #5 and follow the instructions. Shush be quiet, this is a legit speak easy vibe. Then call the number on the door. This place is so crazy I love!! Reservations recommended by Perfect date: Pick a cocktail and order a charcuterie board. Do your homework ahead of time and study menu. Cheers, Your hero Rick read more
Love this place! I love speakeasy's and out of all the speakeasy's I've been to in Boston, this probably gives me the best and most accurate speakeasy vibes. It's quiet and quaint. The ambiance and lighting had me impressed right when I walked through the door. Love all the lamps and the decorations can keep you occupied and distracted from the small talk. Now getting to the cocktails as this is why we are here, I ordered the tuxedo connection and the radio silence, both very good. If you like a bolder more rich tasting drink the radio silence did for me. I also ordered the shrimp and those were some pretty damn tasty shrimp. Before I forget service was also great! The waiters were attentive and great to chat with personality. Will definitely be returning! read more
Great speakeasy in a back alley where you need to call the phone number at the door to get in. I would only suggest a group of 4 max as it is small. A group of 3 of us went on a Friday night around 7:30pm and we were able to get in immediately, however the couple before us were told they had an hour wait. Come early on a weekend, unless you don't mind the wait. The hostess will take down your number and contact you when there is a table available. Cocktails are $16. I got the electric word, which I recommend. I would recommend the Stiletto if you want something light and very fruity/sweet. I like how their menu also has a sentence under each drink, as stiletto said "let them eat cake". Each page has a category of how strong the drinks are. Service was great. They share a bathroom with the restaurant. read more

What a cool speakeasy experience! Intimate spot with limited seating and amazing drinks! Swung by on a Wed night and there was a 45 min wait but it was so worth it. Drinks were all incredible and they even came up with off menu items. Their food menu was also impressive: the oysters, shrimp, shishito peppers were all delicious. Service was very friendly and attentive. This is a must try! read more

First of all this place is SO HARD TO FIND because it's in a dark alley but after we did a little googling we were in business. The inside is so cute and cozy and such great speakeasy vibes. We tried 4 different drinks and they were all so well crafted and unique. I think our favorite was the tuxedo connection just because it was a flavor journey with the butter pecan ice cream and then the mushroom. So unique!! read more

I was really excited about the exclusivity and vibe of this speakeasy. The drinks didn't have the elevated flavor or strength that one would expect. The people next to me enjoyed the expresso drink. The service was not incredibly friendly. The food portion was skimpy, white overpriced. I paid about $20 for 7 shrimp. They were however fresh. The burger was about $20 as well. It's slightly bigger than a JR. Whopper. I hear that it was good but not worth $20. The ambience is nice. I had a better experience at Drink. Both need reservations for the most part. read more

Came here with a friend for a girls night out, and we loved it! We are both big fans of speakeasies, and this one felt more neighborhood like and less like a tourist attraction. I'm not a huge drinker, but ended up getting two drinks because Ioved my first drink so much! Here's what I ordered: Espresso fucking martini- this was wonderful! I'm picky about espresso martinis- I've definitely ordered ones that I've not enjoyed, and this is the best one I've had in Boston! Highly recommend Downpour- I was really excited about this one- it had matcha coconut cream, pineapple, cucumber, and toasted sesame. The flavor was good but it was served over lots of ice (so I didn't feel like I actually had a lot of drink). I would have loved if it were blended like a pina colada. Overall a fun speakeasy in Boston to check out read more

Small and intimate with decent drinks. Wait was a little longer than expected (we had no res) but you have the option to go to the bar next door and wait it out. Also offers small bites- shrimp was tasty! Def would make a res for next time. read more

Great ambiance. To get in you have to find the back door in the alleyway and give them a call. The drinks are indeed very good. Haven't tried their food yet but we will be back another time. Everyone there is pretty chill. I can just go there, grab a drink, and vibe with their good music selection. A small Boston gem! read more
We had the best time at this speakeasy! Great ambiance with great music and cool vibes. I talk about the restaurant lighting in almost every review, but I think decor and general ~feel~ of a space is so important for a speakeasy/ intimate drinking setting and Offsuit nailed it. It's warm, cozy, and romantic while still being cheeky and fun. I even found some little friends to sit on our table, and a few of the staff commented on it which I found really cute. I walked in knowing what I wanted to order, and ordered it 3 more times lol! I highly recommend the Downpour if you go when it's available (I also really appreciate that the menu rotates, such a nice touch). It's a matcha and rum cocktail that is not too sweet and I'm still daydreaming about. My boyfriend did the opposite and jumped all over the menu and wanted to try everything! The only drink of his I didn't love was the clickbait because it kind of tasted like how a tire smells but that could be because my drink was so much sweeter lol. Even though I didn't love that drink, I still thought it was a really well made cocktail. All of the drinks we tried were so good, honestly you can't go wrong here, the menu is curated perfectly and you can always ask for suggestions! Cocktails are $16 each which is so reasonable given the environment you enjoy them in and how well made they are. I recommend a reservation, as a couple who showed up at the same time as us was told there would be a 2 hour wait! However we did come here around 9:30pm on a Friday night, so if you don't have a res, I would recommend a non-weekend or coming earlier. Staff was so nice and time just flew by as we sat and chatted. Cannot recommend this place enough! (If you can find it! :) ) read more
A hidden speakeasy around Chinatown. 3.5 to be accurate. The drinks were actually around average. Some might be a little above average while some are "too creative". I personally recommend the bourbon milk with cookies and radio silence. The steak tartare was salty, but I like it this way since the saltiness makes people want to drink more. They have a 90min limit, so be aware of it. I came first to try the drinks and then decided to invite my girl to try the drinks here. Although I "shook the bartender's hand" and he gladly took it, I and my girl were still kicked out after 1 more drink. Maybe he didn't understand it or he thought one shake wasn't enough. LOL. read more

If you're looking for a speakeasy type of night, you must go find Offsuit. (Hint: the entry is down an alley). Everything is so well done, so much attention to detail from the decor, overall vibe, the menus and of course food and drinks. Offsuit was unforgettable, you must go check it out. read more

This was such a cozy speakeasy with so many delicious cocktails! It was our first stop in Boston, and it was an excellent welcome to the city. I loved the mixed nuts and shishitos, and my boyfriend was so impressed with his smash burger that he almost ordered another one! Our server took very good care of us. I'm so happy we found this gem! read more

I think this place is great. A classic speakeasy that isn't over the top. Super small (maybe fits 20 people max) cozy decor and atmosphere. I've been three times now and the cocktails we've had are excellent and very reasonably priced for what they are $16 drink. Love the six second rule, espresso martini, and opening ceremony. Lost a star because it can be tricky to get in and I would expect servers to make more recommendations on drinks. read more

My first speakeasy in Boston! The ambiance, the drinks, the staff were all perfect! They give you aperitif complimentary drinks which were so good in that well-balanced way. All the cocktails looked amazing, and the food was actually surprisingly quite good as well - got a cheeseboard and short rib skewers, and they were enjoyable (and bread is refillable!). Heard the hash browns were good but didn't get them. Also hands down the best espresso martini in Boston (not pictured.. too busy drinking it ) read more

Such a fantastic find!! If you want a seat, I definitely recommend coming when they open. The drinks are phenomenal. I'm super picky with my alcohol, and the welcome drink and the 2 drinks I ordered both were amazing. The food is also surprisingly good. We had the pig ears (get it, it's good!). Also had the hash browns. And ended our night with the boozy milk and cookies. If you only get one food item, the cookies are a winner. Highly recommend! read more
I am so excited that Boston has a speakeasy bar that's ACTUALLY secretive! Thanks to some reviews my friend and I were able to find the entrance haha their cocktails are innovative, bites were yummy (food is a bit pricey, so would recommend just doing drinks), and the vibes were fun! The waitstaff were attentive and kind. All in all, had a blast! read more
Can I tell you how happy I am to have found this place... Just opened last Wednesday and I am so impressed. This cocktail bar/speakeasy is located in the back of Troquet on South (the door is in the back alley and you have to call the phone number on the doorway to get on the waitlist). No reservations, first come first served. The ambience is cozy, intimate, and classy. The drinks are sophisticated and delicious. They have their own ice program and create some beautiful blocks. We got to try quite a few drinks and you can't go wrong with any of them. Opening Ceremony: fresh ginger offers a good kick, well-developed Lounge Act: unique take on an old fashioned, smooth, perfectly balanced Oaxaca Old Fashioned: extremely smooth and smoky from the tequila and mezcal Espresso Martini: "best espresso martini" tastes like a frap in a good way but kind of nutty and chocolate-y instead of overly sweet Smooth Charlene: raspberry flavor was refreshing and clean, fruity and not too sweet Isolated Incident: pineapple tiki drink, slightly smoky and balanced The food was also great. Crispy pig ears definitely had an Asian influence, tangy and chewy; hash browns came out so hot and crispy with the softest middle; and the chocolate chip cookies were comforting and soft and gooey and pairs nicely with the bourbon milk. Service was phenomenal, the owner, Matt, took great care of us and was very personable, developed some of the best drinks I've had in a while. I'll definitely be back. This is my new favorite spot in Boston for any night out. read more
