OfficeMax is the go to place where I recycle all my ink cartridges. It is a bit out of my way however it's the closest one I can find. Employees are always welcoming as soon as I walk in the door and they are ready to help me with what I need. I always check the calendar section to see what they have to offer to be ready for the year and jot down those appointments so I don't miss any. Just wow. I came in last week and somehow lucked out and had a functionally normal experience getting basic b&w prints made. Today however, I came in with two of the same documents needing the same basic 6 b&w copies of each. First, the service counter worker convinced me to do self service, after I had already emailed the pdf's to the service counter email. Then I send them to the self service email and the access code email never arrives, so I try connecting to their wifi, go through process again and it never arrives. Then I send them from a different email address, go through process again and it never arrives. The entire time, a worker is loudly vacuuming all around me, and the workers at the service desk (10 feet away) never even glance over to see if I need any assistance. Finally, I give up, go back to the counter and they are now helping someone with a complex order and don't acknowledge me. I then walk through the store, find the vacuuming guy and he finds someone to help. Finally the prints are done... which somehow even now are taking far longer than last time I was here. He then hands them to the very first guy who is now back from a long break, but he is helping someone else and never acknowledges me. Finally, I get to pay them, he hands me the 12 b&w pieces of paper, and the landscape print is printed portrait!!!!!!!!! (Cannot use these in such a tiny format). (This is the exact same document they printed the week before without issue). I walk to front, find vacuuming guy who tells me where the manager's office is. I find assistant manager who did the printing, tell him it's a landscape document and show him he printed it portrait and I ask for my money back. He tells me he's helping someone else now and can't help me. Bonus: while I was following vacuuming guy, a giant drop of water landed on me, and then in front of me on the floor, falling out of the ceiling of the store. I tell him and he says "Yeah, we have leaks," full stop. Side note: I never left a review after visiting once 12-18 months ago when the store manager was clearly intoxicated and a young female worker had to take over the transaction as he was too drunk to figure out the cash register. I'm not sure what's going on here but the place smells so bad, water is falling from the ceiling, management could be drunk, almost no one looks you in the eye or has any sense of guest service and you will still have to pay your hard earned money for it anyway. Save your sanity and skip this place. read more

If I could describe my TSA Precheck application experience here... it would be liminal. I came here roughly 10 minutes early like the email said, was given some handout about the TSA application next steps and a $10 coupon, and was told to return at the appointment time which was fine by me because I needed to use the restroom anyway. So I come back 10 minutes later. I start to peruse the shelves for their wares. I feel like I've been transported back to the early 00's with its fluorescent lighting yet at the same time the place was somehow still kinda dark. There are maybe 2 other employees in the store and a manager walking around. I only saw one other customer. Then the manager calls on me for our appointment while I'm looking at the Crayola Limited Edition collection. I walk toward his direction and he somehow vanishes. He's squatted down at a display looking at the wares and tells me to wait for him at the TSA Precheck section of the store. Then we start to run into problems with TSA's system. The manager scans my passport not once, not twice, but THREE times with the same error message saying that TSA could not find my application despite the fact that all of my information from my pre-application populated so I don't know what happened there. Then the manager helps me start a new application that again populates all the same information I inputted myself the day before. After submitting that application, the manager takes my picture for TSA's system. Then, we finally get to fingerprinting with little to no issues and finish with payment. He asked if I had any further questions, to which I said no and made my escape from this strange store. Crossing my fingers I experience no issues with the TSA decision now that it's out of my hands. read more

I ordered 150 business cards through the company's website. I followed every requirement: correct dimensions, properly aligned file, and a solid black front. The printing was indeed fast... but that's where the good part ended. When I arrived to pick them up, the person at the counter was visibly irritated, as if he simply didn't want to deal with anyone. I told him I was there for my cards, and he basically slammed them on the counter. Naturally, I checked them right away and immediately noticed they were not what I expected: they had an unnecessary white border, and the cutting job was terrible--completely uneven. I politely approached the same man in the printing area to explain the issue. Instead of helping, he blamed me and said I had probably uploaded the file incorrectly. I calmly told him that even if that were true, the poor cutting had nothing to do with me. His literal response was: "If you want something professional, go somewhere else, and fuck out of here." Unbelievable. The print quality bothered me far less than the disrespect and complete lack of professionalism. I understand these prints may be inexpensive, but inexpensive should never mean poor quality, bad attitudes, or insults toward customers. I asked to speak with a manager, and he said there wasn't one. First, I want to say I *used to* interact with super helpful associates. So, when my fiancé and decided to print our invites (simple copy on to the paper we brought in ourselves), we went with Office Max. We went to the store since I had questions and didn't want to mess things up by doing the order online. The associate at the counter told me that I had to submit the order online for it to be printed. All right. Sure. I brought my laptop. I can def do that. After submitting my files, I talk to her about printing on our own paper and cutting/trimming the paper to various sizes (5x7, 4x6, & 3x5) and she was helpful. She said after the printing is done and we come pick it up, we can ask the associate working to trim it and they'll charge us per cut. Perfect! She asked me to type a note on their computer about us bringing in our own paper (we brought in about 500 sheets). When we came back to pick up, GIRL, to say I was in disbelief was an understatement. All of our printed invitations were printed 8.5x11. I asked the associate there about it and he quickly gave me an answer of me having to pay to reprint them. When I tried to talk to him some more, he ignored me and called his manager. When his manager came over he offered a refund but that didn't solve the invites being printed incorrectly and that we were now out all this paper. He offered to reprint them for us at no extra charge but we obviously didn't have enough paper. So, I asked my fiancé to make a quick run to Michael's. Now, this issue could have been done. I waited for the reprint. When my fiancé brought in the new paper, the manager mistakenly printed a whole bunch on the matte side of the paper wasting a shit ton more paper. When he realized his error, no apology, just offered to print it on the back. Our invites are stacked and removable from a pocket. That's not going to work. But I wasn't going to have my fiancé BUY MORE PAPER. We eventually ran out of paper and the manager offered to print it on their semi gloss paper. I was beyond frustrated at this point. You'd think this was wrapping up. NOPE. After this fiasco, I contacted Office Max's customer service, chatted with someone, told me that someone will reach out to me in 2 days. Nope. When someone finally got to me, it was the store manager offering to reprint (AGAIN). By this time, we've already assembled the invites with whatever we could use. I emailed them back politely declining because why? They ghosted me after I replied. No offer of refunds, compensation for the extra paper, no apology. Oh. One last thing - while I was waiting for the reprint, another customer came in to print one sign. The associate who eventually came to ignored me proofed his print job with him. I didn't get that. Went here to print out some custom menus & the paper it printed on was regular printing paper . I was a little bit frustrated since I wanted everything to look perfect & it came out horrible . FYI , do not click on the option menu when you're printing online . It doesn't have the option to print on card stock . The paper is flimsy .. i was see why they have 2 stars on the website. Luckily , this nice gentleman named Logan helped assist me with the reprinting on stock paper . He was super helpful & I was so happy they came out looking perfect with his assistance . Arrived here on a Saturday afternoon around 3:45 pm with mom for her printing needs. Parking isn't a worry since there's lots of parking in front of the store with handicapped spots and spaces for online order pick ups. The store is fairly staffed with 2 associates handling the registers, 1 associate at tech support, and 2 associates at the print center at the back of the store. The store is well organized but could use some more vacuuming with papers scraps littered all over the floor. Their print center has 2 printers for use that only accept credit cards. The associates are there to help troubleshoot like restart the printers in case there's a jam or error. The only issue we faced was that their printers are unable to copy documents for double sided printouts, so we had to copy the front and back side individually instead of all at once. Their office chairs make a nice place to wait. My printings needs are resolved here! read more

I had been a listed residence of this home Appartment space for several years as my location listed is of a non smoking non drug usage area of space inside and all vehicles that I have signed and purchased for registering in my name. All in store and online order purchases had been order for myself not intended of ordering for give away or have authorized taking of my purchases for any other persons personal usages. All OfficeMax interactions of any customer services representing in stores , via online chat, or on phone is all primarily communicated for in English only. All online orders I have self picked up orders of curbside of using my own personal transporation not being accompanied of any other person along with me during these ordering pick. All orders are notified when ready for pick ip items are new non open. This location is kept well maintained clean, associates are well spoken . All items that I have had from office max had been self purchased for my home office of "paid" for only. As there had been disruptions that occured per this location of home Appartment office since June 2023 which has not yet been resolved restored or repaired per my self request. I do not have any activity participation of those whom had been able to have accessible access entry per location of area of space. The staff in this store are always friendly and helpful. I've had several items printed here. They are affordable and efficient. And helpful when I've ran into problems customizing documents on my end. They were able to fix the issues I was having and print them. Today though was really above and beyond. I always buy my ink cartridges ahead of time so I have one ready for when the old runs out. Today, outside of their usual return window, I popped in the new cartridge only to discovered I'd gotten a defective one. They let me swap it out for a new one instead of making me go through the manufacturer for a replacement which saved me so much time and headache. read more

I received terrible customer from Kevin. He was augmentative and condescending. I asked him to double-check the price of a printer because it was ringing up differently than the one I wanted. He did so and we switched the printer. Then he tried to upsell me paper in exchange for getting the warranty plan. After I asked him to double-check the notebook's price, he said, "even though the advertised price is $9.95, since it is ringing up as $17.95 I have to sell it for that price." I told him that since the price advertised is $9.95 for that exact item as advertised by their tag, he needed to honor the price as they had marked on the tag. He called the manager over the radio saying "This customer is wrong about the price and they want it for a lower price." Then proceeded to tell me that I was wrong because he had worked in retail for a long time. I told him that it is the law that they would needed to honor their advertised price as it is noted on their shelf (also, it was not a sale price). When the manager came he said he would honor it right away. In walking to the register I told the manager that I would prefer that he rang me up for the items I was getting. Kevin again argued saying "is there any reason I should not get that sale. It is my up and I deserve it". Neither the manager or I said anything. I ended up not getting the printer as I did not feel comfortable in the store. As a former retail manger I am flabbergasted that anyone like that would be working retail. I just went to laminate the Covid Vaccination Card. The employees are super helpful and friendly. After entering the store go to the printing services. The lady at this section is very friendly. She laminated my card in just few minutes and of course of no charge. They have a promotion of free lamination of covid cards until July 25,2021. They laminate the copy of the card, not the original card. And also, they have self service printing services. I think it is 17cents per page. Next time, I will try their printing service. Swung by for the first time not too long ago because my office was completely tapped out of toner. Who would have guessed that Officemax of all places would be super busy during the holidays?? I definitely didnt. I was pleasantly surprised by Officemax being more than just pens, paper, & ink. This establishment is full of supplies, snacks, and furniture. There wasn't much of customer service going on but being that I was in kind of a rush, it didn't bother me. The store was spacious and I appreciated the organized labeling- I was able to find what I needed fairly quickly. Be advised that this shopping area is full of traffic due to Whole Foods and Peet's Coffee so drive cautiously and be patient. 3 stars. I definitely wouldn't mind coming here again to see what else they are offering. read more

I walked up to purchase scotch tape for presents. I showed my ID for Veterans discount. The cashier who turned out to be the Manager said, "Sorry we only offer Veterans discount one day in November." I said, no you offer it all year. Sorry, we don't. But I'll give you a discount anyway. I felt a bit embarrassed. I stepped away and pulled up the corporate information on google which clearly shows it's ALL year. I showed this to the manager...she said she'd only been there for a month. SO....Office Depot and Office Max....this is the THIRD store and EVERY time I purchase supplies for selling wine, I have to show the corporate info from my cell after being declined. Each one had good description next to them. I noticed that I liked few and finally selected one. I love it as I have it at home now. I could find staff to help me quickly and they pointed out that they have the same chair available at the front with a great discount. It was assembled for customer who never came to pick it up. She was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating to every single customer who approached her counter while I was there waiting for my order. The store had what we wanted, we were sent by a young man to the right aisle and came back to pay. Same guy was at the register who tried to get us a discount immediately by selling us on a $49 deal which we declined. Whoa now this guy flipped on us and everything he said was condescending or rude or ridiculous statements. I asked for a military or senior discount if there are any - he asked like what and I gave him 2 examples. Now I am being accused on not knowing how to speak to him. I mentioned a couple of military and senior organizations known world wide. BUT I am stupid now, according to this guy who is trying to look at a Veterans ID card and he is holding his head at the eyes and squeezing them shut to tell us he cannot see and again, he is vaulting insults to a Veteran to the point where my husband had to walk out and if I was not in the middle of a card payment transaction - I would have followed, but paid and got the hell out of there. This guy is dangerous, rude, wierd, and should not be interacting with people. Had he done this to a minor, I would have had the manager all over him for what he did to us. I love this store! Came today to get some laminating done on their big machine, which uses 5mm laminate, and is more sturdy when dealing with kids. All 6 of my music posters came out great! Nick was so helpful and very nice! Great customer service! I was able to get all of my posters laminated in about 20 mins, and Nick was so kind in giving me a 25% off coupon for my laminated items. I will not be using office Max copy department again. I brought a stack of covers to have them cut in the stack cutter because precision was vital. I arrived at opening time and had to wait for the associate to check in and report to his station. Not a customer in sight I explained what I needed and was told I would have to wait for other customers to be served and that he could not do my job while I waited. The scope of the job equalled 4 cuts on 4 stacks..so..I'm not sure how that would even take more than 16 minutes to complete even if you took your time aligning each cut. But I was not given the choice of waiting so I left the project there and drove back across town to work. I called at 230 and was told the job was not yet done...fine..I went back 24 hours later and had to deal with the mess of a cut job because my event was that same day and I could not go purchase more materials and wait to have them cut more accurately. I am attaching a photo to show how shoddy the cut job was. My 200 students in class had to deal with and hand trim in many cases sets of unmatched covers for their handmade books. Never again. I'm investing in my own stack cutter and will do my own cutting from now on but will NEVER patronize office Max on blossom Hill Rd again. read more

Came in here to get a poster printed. Waited an excruciating 20 minutes for the person ahead of me to finish; mostly due to understaffing. Only one person was assigned to the services area, where a single order could take as long as the person ahead of me did, and there was 5 of us in line. After patiently waiting my turn, the employee begins to help me with my order and everything is smooth sailing, that is until the printer would not work. Having had multiple failed attempts to print the poster, he calls his manager. The manager seemed to try at first, unsuccessful, told her employee to tell Me that they could not print this for me as it was copyrighted material. And so the employee relayed the message to me without making any eye contact While already helping the next customer, no room for conversation, just get the hell out of the store, no apologies either for wasting my time. I spent nearly an hour in the store, only to leave empty handed. This was me trying to support local business. I understand the whole copyrighted material thing, But they are extremely uptight over this, especially in this day and age. The poster was not for commercial use but personal use, being there just 1 pc. Long story short, I found wonderful service at Staples. No fuss and great quality printing. Never returning to this store again or any OfficeMax/ Office Depot for that matter. read more

One exception was the price on a month-at-a-glance datebook, near the end of January, for over $25. Going with a similar one from an online retailer for less than $5, including shipping. Staff was helpful in finding things, because the layout of merchandise didn't make much sense to me. Hurry through the entryway while holding your breath, to avoid the pungent odor there. read more

The Printing Center is the ish! You can even create some orders online and then pick them up in the store. I needed to mail out 50 cards and writing the address for people would have been ugly and printing them out on your own is annoying because you end up buying a packet and not using all the sheets and which way do you insert the sheet in the printer?! I only needed to use 3 sheets- created the labels in a Word Document under Avery 5160 as that is the standard template to use and put it on a thumb drive. Got to Officemax where they tested a few ways to print and walked out paying less than $2. Lovely! Totally recommend if you need to send out invites and want it to look professional. read more
