Went to pick up a print, was looking for my print at the front. Guy at the front asks me if I got a call, I said I got a text. Guy says go to the print services because they call when it's up front. I go to print services. They say it's up front and help me find it up front. Guy up front says "Did you look?" sarcastically. Yes. Yes I did look, but while looking you told me it was somewhere else. Poor service and didn't receive my order Yesterday I tried to place an order for business cards print out online. My order was not placed. I called the customer service and no answer. I went to the store and placed the order. I received an invoice. Today morning I received an email that my order was canceled. I went to the store again to find out it was canceled because I didn't pay for the order. I was not asked to pay. Also why was I handed the invoice if payment is a requirement? So I paid for the order and I was promised that it will be ready by 6 pm and I will receive an email. I did not receive an email that it is ready. I called the store and they constantly put me on hold. I am leaving tomorrow for an event for which I needed my business cards which I did not receive. Update: I was promised a refund and never received it. The store manager called me and I told him my calls and emails were never answered. He asked me to keep visiting the store until it's done as he justifies that their store doesn't answer calls or reply to emails. He said it was a miscommunication just because I was speaking nicely. Honestly I do not care about a $12 refund but the attitude is absolutely unacceptable. read more

I haven't been to the OfficeMax off of Dodge and 72nd for several years. They have made changes to the location for major copy services. I was looking at laser printers that were fully wireless. Not all models shown are available and you have to ask a sales associate to look in the back to check on additional inventory. I suggest seeking a printer that works off of a toner cartridge than selecting ink cartridges. Overall, the sales associate was very helpful regardless of limited selections of laser printers. read more

I think I placed an order at 7AM (store wasn't open) and at 745 (store still wasn't open), I got a notification saying my order was ready. I get there at 8 when the store opened and my order was ready - magic! Right when I walked in, someone asked what I needed and how they could help. Couldn't ask for anything more. read more

Not a lot of assistance here. The place is almost always lacking in customers and plenty of staff milling around. Do they ever ask, "How may I help you?" Nah. But that's OK. I know what I want when I walk in so no big deal. A wide variety of inks for every type of printer on earth. Bring the exact model number of ink or you will have to either decipher the printer ink reference guide (as long as you know your specific printer model and number) or you will be doing a return trip after you retrieve that information from your home/office. They do have an ink cartridge recycling program that leads to a small discount on a future purchase. There's even fax machines sold here. For those of the more recent generations, the fax machine was popular pre-email where you could transmit a document over a landline from one fax machine to another. Cool, huh? read more

I ordered several 2" d-shaped heavy duty binders online for store pickup. Even though I'm vaccinated, I'm still very high risk. So my husband picked the order up for me yesterday. Unfortunately I didn't realize the 2" binders are actually 3" wide so I needed to return them today and get smaller ones. Because I wasn't able to go inside the store, employee Deshondre helped me. It was pouring rain at the time. In spite of the rain, Deshondre came out to my car to pickup and return the large binders then brought out a refund. Afterwards he brought out several for me to choose just the right size. Then Deshondre helped me order the correct size online (with my phone) for store pickup so he could bring them out to me. He went above and beyond to help me in the pouring rain. I'm very impressed with the customer service here. I will definitely shop here again. read more

I strongly recommend you never buy a tech support agreement from Office Depot/Office Max! I have no issue with this particular store but they put you on automatic renewal and it takes an act of god to cancel it. I thought I canceled but my account was charged anyway. When I called they acknowledged the cancellation and told me I would get a credit in 5-7 business days. On business day 7 and 8 I used live chat and was told the credit was in process and I would get an email regarding when the credit would post. After no email I called again and was told the credit memo was created and would post that day but it didn't! Today is business day 12 since I canceled and on my call today I was told that it takes 7-14 business days to process the credit! Earlier they told me 5-7! Assuming today's person is correct the credit should post by Friday but I am not holding my breath! Worst case they are dishonest, best case they are incompetent! My go-to spot for copies and office supplies. While the dirty carpet and rickey workstations on the CopyMax side of the store suggests a rehab in a few years, I still waaay prefer it over nearby Fed-Ex/Kinkos. Why? Well, for one it's rarely busy. This means I can easily get some 1:1 time with a staff member at CopyMax, as I'm usually printing a variety of things in all shapes and sizes. Plus, stress levels go down when there isn't a long line of customers waiting impatiently behind you. Another reason is that they're more lenient on printing trademarked images. As a Yelp marketing guy, I naturally have to print up a lot of stuff with Yelp logos on it. Over at Kinkos, they won't touch the trademarked stuff unless you give them an official OK from your companies legal department. Ugh, not gonna bother with that. So if you don't want the long lines and headaches typically brought on by a trip to Kinkos, head to CopyMax instead. read more

Over priced, "high end" office supplies and equipment. Oh and coffee machine if you want those, they have a rather strange mix of things. I went there looking for a planner (along with three other office max/depot stores today) and still did not find what I needed after being told it was here. The selection was the best of all the stores I visited today, WAY over priced though. The furniture section however was a little worse for ware and there was a desk in shambles in the back that said "need parts to complete assembly" with so me dudes name.... I mean come on put that in the backroom or something, it looks tacky. The employees were no where to be found in this store until I went to the register and interrupted their group conversation (4 of them) to ask where the bathroom was. After asking for / finding the bathroom I wish I wouldn't have. The ladies bathroom would make a filthy back-roads bar look pristine. I considered taking photos, but... I don't think you should post things that nasty. The toilets were covered in feces and the like. And I'm not talking just 1 toilet, all 4 stalls were filthy. Now, yes, it's an office supply store, but that is SUPER gross. The second time I went looking for an employee he just simply walked away from me. I gave up and left. Dear OfficeMax, you would have gotten a 3/5 from me until I checked out the facilities. Please take sanitation more serious. read more

This is one of the crappiest office supply locations I have been ever been in. The copy area was dirty. 1 copy machine had a broken sign on it and the other copy machine did not work right either. The employee working in that area, Aaron, was entirely unintrested in figuring out why the machine didn't work or in offering to make my prints on one of the non self-serve machines. Customer service in this store is extremely lacking and the whole place needs a face lift. I stopped to talk to a manager on the way out and she blew the complaint off as if that is how service is normally done in this store. read more

Let me preface my review with this opening statement...I used to really, REALLY like OfficeMax. The people working there were nice, the price incentives and promotions were well worth giving them repeat business. Now it seems the opposite is true, and I have to wonder if it is due to the OfficeMax/Office Depot merger effect. Part of my job with my company is to purchase office supplies....and I buy a lot of them, primarily paper, printer ink, pens, and so on. Since the merger, the prices on ALL of these items have gone up. There are no longer $15 in-store gift cards earned with each ink purchase over a certain amount. The managers of the stores I have been to (Tom at this location and the unfriendly, bald man with the beard at Shadow Lake) are apathetic if not rude now, and it seems this Dodge Street location does a shitty job of ordering because they are always out of printer ink. It would also be so very nice not to be told how stupid I am for not signing up for their rewards program......every......single.....time.....I go into these stores. We can all say what we will about WalMart, but this is one line of bullshit we don't have to deal with there. The prices are low, period. Now that they enjoy a monopoly in this industry, perhaps the OfficeMax school of thought is "Why bother with these idiot customers. Where else are they going to shop?" Well, I can answer that: At my urging, my company will now be shopping online for our supplies. We have found that we will save nearly 30% on the same products, while circumventing the frustration of getting to the store just so we can be told they are "out of stock" on some very basic item. Thank you, OfficeMax store managers for saving my company money by pushing us away to seek more cost effective and friendly alternatives. I ordered something online and it said it would be ready to be picked up the next day. When I didn't get a text saying it was ready that day, I decided to give them till the next day before I called the store. When I called the next day, the guy who answered said everyone in the printing department called out sick. I understand people get sick, but why wouldn't you send an email out to customers letting them know there was going to be a delay? So if you know they needed it by a certain day they could go somewhere else to have it done? It's very frustrating. Will not be ordering prints from here again. read more

Customer Service Pro Tip: when a customer makes eye contact and asks if you can help them find something, don't mumble into your walkie-talkie and walk away. Jordan in the printing center is fantastic! I was having a hard time finding someplace that would help me print 200 baby shower games I purchased off of Etsy on 5x7 cardstock. I called and he took the time to help me get my options figured out. When I got into the store a short while later, he was very busy and the other customers were being very rude and impatient. He took it all in stride, got everyone what they needed, and was very kind and helpful to all (even those who acted like they didn't deserve it). By the end, I wanted to give him a big hug because he was wonderful and other customers were being such a pain. I would not hesitate to ask Jordan for help again should I ever need it. For those who like office and writing supplies, this is an interesting place to browse. The store is not usually crowded so it is easy to get in and out quickly. On this visit I purchased a printer cartridge quickly located by a helpful employee. This store always seems to have what I'm looking for. Pretty disappointing trip today. I went to this location on Dodge to make a few copies. Since the copy machines now require a card of some kind, one has to dig through the glove box of one's car to find one. Not knowing how much money was left on the two Office Max gift cards I found, I took them into the copy-side of the store and prepared to make some copies. I placed the first card in and swiped it, and got the message BAD SWIPE. I tried again, got the same message again. I tried the other card, got BAD SWIPE on that one too. There were three people in line waiting for help from the lone guy working on the copy side, so I went looking for someone on the office supply side. After standing in line behind two people, the cashier proceeded to run my card and got an ERROR message. She then punched in a bunch of commands on the keyboard of her register, and one card showed a balance of $7.94. Jackpot!! I told the cashier that I got a BAD SWIPE message on the copy machine, and she informed me that I should manually enter the number on the machine instead of swiping the card. So, back at the copy machine, I loaded my 4 copies into the tray, punched in the card number, manually, as instructed, and it looked like everything was going great. I hit COPY, and the first page of the originals slid into the machine followed by a crunching sound as my original jammed in the machine. I looked over for help; now there were only two people in line waiting for the assistance of the guy behind the copy desk. So, I took my remaining three copies and went to the other copy machine, keyed in my card number manually (I am getting smarter as the ordeal continued), and get the message CAN'T PROCESS CARD (or something of that nature). To review, the first machine is jammed, and the second machine is refusing to take my card even though I know there is $7.94 on it. Admitting defeat, I go stand in line (two people ahead of me now), and the guy behind the copy counter goes to sit down with one of the original two people in front of me. Looks like that customer has a very detailed design project to go over, so it will be a while. I give up. I rescue my remaining three original copies, walk over to the office supply side, plunk down the Office Max gift card with the $7.94 credit and tell the cashier "Keep it, this isn't worth the trouble". I will find someplace else to make copies. This store has made the copy process so difficult and cumbersome compared to what it used to be. There is hardly ever a time when there isn't some kind of issue to have to deal with to make copies here. It's almost like they really don't want the business. read more
