I've shopped here often. Today I walked in with 4 horizontal clear plastic 8x10 frames, purchased there with tags and stickers on. The greeter asked how I can be helped. I replied, I bought these horizontal frames BY ACCIDENT but needed vertical ones. She asked "when did I purchase?" And I replied about a month ago. She said. Just moved to gig harbor. Didn't bring my office chair with me from Texas. I don't know what all the 1 star reviews are about. It's an Office Depot folks. You knew what you signed up for before you walked into the place. Anyway, I Came in for an office chair. My budget is $200 or less. I sit in a number of chairs, a few of which are on sale. The chair I like of course is on sale but upon looking closely the sale ended a day ago. Typical me. The chair is $350 while not on sale and $150 while on sale. I called over an employee to help me. The guys name was Andrew. I explained the situation, he totally understood, wanted to help out, checked to make sure he could and then honored the sale price. Andrew went into the back grabbed a new in box of the chair I wanted and checked me out at the sale price. 5 stars easy. He did the right thing; I've been to so many chain places lately that have had terrible employees who not only don't want to help but clearly hate their jobs. If that was this place I would understand the 1 star reviews but that's not at all the experience I had. This is a good Office Depot. If you don't think so, I challenge you to go check out a few other office depots or staples or best buys. read more

This Office Depot is just a cascade of failures in every department, with maybe one qualified employee in the whole store. (and considering this isn't a hard job, that is not saying much.) I started a new business based on working with their copy shop. I hand make board games, and after constructing prototypes with prints from their shop, I determined I could make a good profit and a great product. So I sold a few hundred copies, only to find that their shop is so poorly staffed I couldn't get them to make the copies! Every time I came in I had to stand in a long line, with one frazzled employee taking hours to help maybe 3 customers. And there was always some technical glitch that prevented them from making copies for me, after I stood so long in line. (For example, the line might be a two hour wait, but they won't let me leave a thumb drive...which requires me to spend the whole time standing in the damn store!) "No problem" I say to myself. I've got enough sales, I'll just buy a high end printer, and do the prints myself. So they sell me one. Then I walk across the store to buy the paper they had used on my prototype, and they'll only sell me a few sheets at a time! "We don't carry this paper. And we don't want to run out in the copy shop." Okay, so I will order the paper online. No big deal, I'm patent. Then I run out of ink. So I come back top the store, and find out THEY STOPPED CARRYING THE INK TO THE PRINTER THE SOLD ME. A PRINTER THEY ARE STILL SELLING! This years model of HP printer! So now I have to order that online, too. (Note to retailers: if you force us to buy from Amazon, you WILL go out of business.) So, no matter how patient I was, this store simply failed at everything. Because of this, they are loosing my hundreds of dollars a week in orders to their copy shop, or supplies. I just don't know how this manager of this store is still employed. They need to hire, and train employees, so the store can keep up with the orders customers want to make. And they need to stock the supplies to the products they sell. Seems easy, right? read more

Office depot is horrible. They started doing fedex shipping. They charged more than 90.00 for a small overnight package. The package was never delivered and office depot manager promised to make it right and get right back to me. The package was ultimately lost and office depot said it was FedEx's fault and they werent to blame. After getting one email from the manager she quit communicating and never made it right. I will never shop there again or use any of their services. Customer service does not exist in this store only excuses and non customer service.. read more

The printing department is horrible. I email orders to be printed for my business and when I come to pick them up, they are never printed! I have to wait while they are Printed. There is no point in online printed orders or emailing orders in because they will not be ready. It's frustrating because I have other work to be done at my own job instead of waiting around on something that should be done already! read more

Rich was so helpful to my son and I fix a tech issue. We were disappointed after paying $200 for a cleaning of viruses etc. that his favorite game, still wasn't working. Rich kept working to solve this problem for us and we couldn't be more appreciative of his assistance. read more

The customer service here is terrible! I will never order prints from this location again. I have been going in bi-weekly for several months to get copies made. I've done everything to make this a quick and easy process, I recently have emailed my order in 24 hours in advance in hopes it would be ready. I've even called to be certain they are prepared before coming down, and aside from the long hold time on the phone, they have yet to have completed my prints before I arrive. Expect long lines, and zero sense of urgency at the office print kiosk. Employees waste time while chatting with each other rather than focusing on the customers. I've yet to experience this at any other Office Depot. Gig Harbors location no longer has my business. read more

Every time I walk into here, there are about 10 employees who all ask eagerly if I need any help. On the occasion I do, one of them will walk me to the place I need, and then hover. Sadly, their expertise seems to only extend to navigating me through the store, and not in providing any kind of comparative advice (e.g. which pencil sharpener is best?). I know not everyone can be an expert on everything, but it would be nice if they could offer some kind of an opinion, just to get me started in the correct direction. I also find that the selection, for being such a large store, is lacking in variety. I don't expect Office Depot to be an art store with a wall of difference pencils, but I am constantly disappointed by the lack of real selection. And the prices. Oh, the prices. I always think (without any good reason) that a large retailer will offer discounted prices, but they seem to take pride in making all the prices be as close to MSRP, while still being a few cents lower so they can claim lower prices without any real difference. I don't love Office Depot, but I still go because they are there. I wouldn't miss them if they were gone, though. read more

I agreed to have the cashier sign me up for black ink delivery once a month. Two days later I changed my mind (6/6/21)and called to cancel using the 1-800 number on the receipt. I had been signed up by the cashier for color and black ink, the billing was in process.I asked to stop the order and cancel the subscription. I was billed again 2 weeks later, I called again to the 1-800 number. July 1 I see pending 14.99 I call bank put a stop, call 1-800 number for a third time. I have them send me an email that specifically says subscription is closed. I look for way to stop the emails found at the bottom of one of the 10 emails I've been sent by Office Depot. Not a simple click and unsubscribe button. I looked it up online, how to cancel getting emails from them. Got a response a few hrs later that they'd received my request and it will take 8-10 weeks for them to stop sending me emails. Don't sign up for anything with them, what a hassle, I thought getting ink delivered might be easier but they were charging me for ink I hadn't received and was on back order‍I hope this helps someone. read more

It is just fine for an Office Depot with all the expected supplies and doo hickeys. Why it only gets 3 stars is that every time we go in, there are almost no other customers in the store but many employees just trying to look busy. They only ask if we need help once and leave us alone after that, but with all 4 employees asking... Then they are amazingly gone when it is time to check out and the poor copy girl always checks us out. Parking is never an issue and it is conveniently located, but nothing makes this location stand out over other Office Depots or other office supply stores. read more

I ordered some printing online and then picked it up at this branch store. Because of a glitch in the website, I received a double order and was charged twice the amount on my credit card. However, customer service for Office Depot was very prompt efficient and courteous in clearing up the problem and crediting my account. I feel confident in trusting Office Depot with my future printing orders because of this. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. My 70 year old mother bought a computer there and the salesman told her it would only be $150 bucks to have updated software installed in her house by one of their techs. When she went back a manager told her it would be $350 dollars. The salesman was right there. My mom asked him to repeat what he had said early. He flat out lied and denied ever saying the original quote of $150.00. My mother promptly returned the computer and went to Staples where the service was ten time better. My family and I will never step foot in the Office Depot store again. read more

I would not even dignify the customer service as poor here - it was MUCH worse, TERRIBLE is not a strong enough word. I walked in there March 30th in the afternoon to return ship my climbing shoes via UPS. I walked up to their shipping center and encountered two employees - one a heavy red haired girl and the other a tall brown haired guy with glasses standing around talking with some girl on the other side of their counter. I stood an placed my box on the counter expecting to be attended to or at least acknowledged to hold on for a minute but neither happened, they both looked at me and returned to their conversation. It was not until a skinny tall brunette girl walked upto them and asked one of them to take care of me that the guy claimed he was training the girl (YEAH RIGHT) and again continued back to their conversation. Only after I repeatedly waved and said "hellooooo" to them did the guy begrudgingly tear himself away from his conversation to reluctantly prepare my box for shipping. It literally took 30 MINUTES to return ship a prepaid package, what a joke! I walked around the floor looking for a manager to figure out why these lazy employees were allowed to slack off and poorly treat their customers, and none were in sight. I utilize office services on a weekly basis and am so thankful for an actual UPS store, I was just unlucky they were not open on a Saturday. read more

Ever observe an employer treating an employee rudely and think wtf? I was appalled to witness how an overweight female manager degraded an employee when he asked for help. I have always had good service here. I have bought my laptops here for years, and find the tech dept very helpful.

My story is short and not so sweet. I was told by sales person that is I purchase a computer I could get it set up and serviced in my home for $150.00. This would include setting up "office and connecting to Wi-Fi and my printer". I was very specific to clerk. He acknowledged most definitely. I expected to pay for "office" separately from the computer. I purchased computer to be delivered to my home. Computer was delivered. I had to return to Office Depot to set up appointment for servicing agent to come to my home. I was told that in no uncertain terms that the charge would be $150.00 for home service, $89.00 to install "office" in my computer and $89.00 to connect to my printer. Original sales clerk told his supervisor the he "would never" say there would be no extra charges. He Emphatically expressed this to his supervisor, in fact, just as Emphatically as he told me there would be no extra charges. Needless to say, I returned the computer the next morning. Same supervisor was there and VERY curtly took my return. I will NEVER set foot in any Office Depot again. I am done! Customer service and attitude are the worst I have ever encountered. The people who work here may be nice but boy oh boy they are HORRIBLE when it comes to assistance and basic knowledge. Every time I go in here it is time wasted and bad customer service. The worst experience was the fact I had plenty of time to renew my passport in time for my upcoming trip but was completly screwed when I chose this Office Depot to take my passport photo. Long story short 3 weeks after I submit my passport to the agency I am notified that the photo is unusable due to size. Now I have to pay an additional $75 expedite fee to get it on time for my trip. I go back to Office Depot to get my photo retaken (for free - wow, so nice of them) the guy says "This photo is totally wrong, I can't believe they gave this to you". So my suggestion is TRAIN YOUR FREAKING EMPLOYEES!!! Not to mention the time wasted when I order things online and go in to pick them up. Orders are never ready, employees don't know where filled orders are kept or how to even look them up. It's just a waste of time and effort to go to this store and so very frustrating. Guess I will just pay the bridge toll and go to Tacoma in the future - it will probably save me money in the long run due to the totally incompetent employees in this store. read more
