This is probably my favorite dog park in the Solano County area. For a regular people park it's…read moregreat too! Lots of paved paths for walking. Baseball fields. A skate park. Exercise equipment. A large field for soccer games. Lots of parking. Restrooms and water fountains. Play structures for children. I considered buying a house in this area partially for this park. The dog park is separated into two areas which are not connected. The small dog park is very flat and down some steps or a slope from the restroom picnic area. The large dog park is to the left and goes on a hill. The large dog park has two paved paths. One is like a switch back. The other goes straight up the hill. There's water fountains for the dogs at both the top and bottom of the park. There are also two double gated entrances. The park has some agility structures at the top of the hill, some metal benches throughout, waste bags and trash bins. The landscaping is mostly dirt/bark. There are plenty of trees in the park so the dogs to sniff. It's a great park for the sniffari type of dogs. It's also quite large! It's great for getting your steps in to walk up and down the paths. Most of the people I've met there have been great. On one occasion I have seen a dog walker bringing in 10+ dogs at once... The only words of caution I have would be to dress for the wind and in the summer I have witnessed a snake in the dog park.

Cordelia community Park is the hidden gym of Fairfield parks! This park has :…read more 3 CTVLL baseball fields, 1 rec baseball field, free open lawn space for soccer, volleyball, golf, workout equipment along the trails, two parks with multiple activities for kids of all ages, multiple picnic and reservation areas for parties with covered patios, barbecue pits and grills, bocce ball courts, 2 ENCLOSED dog parks for small vs large, ample parking , super clean bathrooms (for rec parks), tennis courts, basketball courts, And a skate park! The only downside is no matter what because of the location expect high winds at almost all times of the year and day. One of the greatest things I love about this park and I hope to preserve is how clean it is . Rarely as their trash scattered and almost always the parties pick up after themselves where they can meaning they put their stuff and bag it up and put it in the trash or take it out to the dumpsters. This matters when you have a community space ! there's also bulletin boards throughout that show when the parks are reserved for events or when the tables have reservations for parties. (to book reservations or parties you do it directly through the Fairfield rec and parks website.) Last but not least they have a shared book library . It's been there for about three years now I believe.

There's a few large shade trees and benches for the humans. The park is surrounded by a hugh public park. I saw plenty of walking the trails. Because the dog park is so large,it's set back aways from the parking lot. Just walk past the skate park. I don't understand why this park is not rated higher

In my opinion this is one of the better dog parks in the area. I prefer this park over the Vallejo…read moreWardlaw Park, but there are a few major cons that I can see deterring people. The cons. Parking. Certain times of the year the dirt road leading right up to the dog park will be closed off. It's also a somewhat rough dirt road. When there are sports/practice parking can be difficult. You may need to walk a decent while from the paved lot to get to the dog park. The small dog side of the park is not used very often. It is mostly unkempt grass on a hill. The terrain of the large dog park is an artificial hill of astroturf and mostly dirt. Pros: The community here! The dogs and the people are wonderful. They really embody the heart of Benicia. The dogs are well behaved. The people are kind. People are usually very good about cleaning up after their pet. The park is well shaded and has plenty of seating. The City of Benicia maintains this park well. The poop bags don't run out and the trash is taken out. If your dog can get along with other dogs of all sizes this is a great park. If you have concerns about your small dog being in the large dog area then I can see why this isn't a good fit.

It was a nice park, the swings are placed far away from the play structures though which i think was weird lol. The park has enough shade, i'm not sure if there's any bathroom though. (You know the miniature, faded, blue plastic horse, attached to a giant spring?... 'That if you're not careful, is a perfect receipt for a face plant.) Well, it has been a while since I was last here... 'Now, it's all grown up, it's huge!... 'With a little attention & care, Hillview Park has a lot of potential to be a great park, it definitely has the space for it. HAPA Boy - http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/hillview-park-fairfield?select=W8T_O-SV1Oy2k0yuTiVf6g#VK0tM_j-pcELtI1a6ba_JA The Pack and I arrived a little after 3:30pm. There weren't too many people out, a few people passing through walking their dogs, two guys practicing their "putting swing," which, "NO golfing," was one of the park rules. (Shrugs) No harm, no foul. We stayed for about 45 minutes and by the time we left a half dozen kids were playing a game of football... 'Seems like a pretty cool park. People just don't get it... "Folks, this is YOUR park, provided by the city for your 'parking pleasure,' the least people can do is make some sort of effort to help keep it clean!" I just don't get it sometimes, I'd see the same thing in South OC and it always made me wonder if people really appreciate what they have?... Beautiful parks, well taken care of, watered & maintained, yet people feel the need to litter, not pick up after their dogs and blatantly disrespect the place they call "home." (Sigh) Go figure. My apologies, I digress. However, on that note...
