They have little holiday parties at the party (July 4th, Halloween, Christmas, etc). This is a great place to make friends. There is a great group of regulars in the morning and evenings. There is a big dog side and also a small dog side. They share a fence line. There are also poop scoopers and a water fountain. Seating is pretty limited to a couple benches. The actually park itself while clean is a bit bare. It's mostly dirt with a few young trees. This is not the right park for a dog that just wants to sniff around because honestly there isn't much here. I don't think I've seen a fight at this park. So if your dog likes to play with other dogs and you want to make friends too this is the place! Since this area sorta backs into open space/marshlands I highly recommend staying current on flea and tick preventatives. Especially ticks. My dog got a tick on his head here. How? Probably from getting close to the bushes on the outer perimeter of the dog park fence.

Recently (2024?) renovated dog park in Vacaville!…read more Of the 3-4 dog parks in town this is probably objectively the nicest. It has the most shade and best views (of the lagoon). The renovation included finally a separated area for small dogs. The fence itself is still a little low (around 4'). The ground cover is still bark. They have working water fountains and poop bags. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here though. When I've been it hasn't been too busy (mornings). The closest parking requires payment. Or you can park at the Butcher Road entrance and walk in. It's a perfect water break stop for if you're hiking Pena Adobe with your dog.

NorCal has been getting pounded with rain for a week straight. I decided to skip the gym and go outside. Andrews Park is on a hill, so, you have the chance to walk at an incline to get your heart up. Which I love! There's a playground, public bathrooms (enter at your own risk), a flowing creek, benches, and a map of the "fitness trail" to follow around the park for exercise.

I recently found out about this place from a friend's Instagram story when they went. So I made…read moresure to plan a hike here for when I had time. I was able to come here in the middle of the week around noon. The GPS made this place easy to find. There is plenty of parking here at pena adobe park and lagoon valley park. The hike is located at lagoon valley park, so don't mix those up. You do have to pay $5 for parking, and the machine kiosk was broken when I went, but you can still pay through the park mobile app, which is what I did. The hike is listed as moderate, but felt borderline difficult to me (maybe I'm just out of shape). There is a lot of up hill when you first start, and because there wasn't a lot of shade combined with me going on the hottest day of the week (low 80 degrees), it did make it feel more difficult. After I parked, I was a bit confused on where to go so had to ask someone finishing up their hike for the direction. I was instructed to go up the main trail past the gate for the main trail to the lighthouse at the top. There are lots of trails here, but the one to the top of the hill is the most popular, and probably the most difficult). Once you park in the lot by the lake/pond, you cross the road to the grassy side and follow that trail to the gate that keeps the cows inside. There is another easier hike/walk your can take around the lake/pond, which is mostly flat. The views on this hike are great. Despite it being a little warmer, the breeze helped a lot. I liked the views and made it to the top after about 1 and a half hours. In total, it took me about 2 hours to finish the hike. And that's with a 20 minute break halfway going uphill. Going downhill is a lot faster. I'll be back for one of the other trails and how to bring family and friends to join.

Nice walk on a dry day. Would be super muddy in the rain. Seems like a place that's only good during a particular weather/season. Parking is $5+. If I lived close by, you would see me going for a walk here, enjoying coffee while getting work done and eating a yummy pastry. The high ceilings and huge glass doors are everything. Vibes are immaculate, 10 out of 10. The coffee is great too. There's seating inside and outside. Service is quick and friendly! There's parking, free water and bathrooms available for customers.

Peña Adobe Park has the oldest structure in Solano County (as early as the 1840s). CA landmark #534. Museum and Adobe tours are the first Saturday of the month. Parking was easy during the week. Peña Adobe Park has a lot of shade and one can also reserve space at the picnic area. The only negative is that the I-80 juts up against the park so freeway noise seeps into the park. Trails connect to the grounds and I was able to go for a hike and see the green rolling hillside around me. Thank you Peña family for making this available. I will return!
