Very nice place, well maintained and cool even on hot days because of the marina. Low traffic (at least in the small dog section) from what my experience has been so far, which is kinda unfortunate. I may have to try another park in the area as my dog loves other dogs and gets no interaction here :')

Just to correct some misinformation! The supervised city backed homeless camp is in the amphitheater area and NOT in front of the dog park. You enter from the Yacht Club parking lot. I have never seen unattended dogs and the park is clean and safe. We enjoy this park every day with a bunch of large "puppies" that grew up together last year. My only gripe is on Sunday when families bring very small children in with food. Not allowed. ! MOST owners are responsible and supportive of people with young dogs getting used to being socialized BUT dogs need to be watched, this isn't an offshoot of Starbucks! Your dog is YOUR responsibility. Come and enjoy.

Friendly people. Lots of trees. Good place for my dog to run and play. Would like the fence to be a bit higher, but it's a really nice space.

The MARTINEZ Dog Park is fabulous and the perfect setting for my five pound bundle of joy, Willie. The small dog area is so nice with ample shade and sweeping views of the straits. I love the water station and the poop stations. Most importantly, I enjoy meeting "dog people" - the best people around! Many thanks to the City of MARTINEZ for this lovely amenity! Who let the dogs out???? MARTINEZ DID!!!!!

The best dog park around! There are two sections; one for small dogs and one for large. Both are pretty big with plenty of room for the doggies to run, and both have water fountains, poop bags, and benches. Lots of trees for shade and the breeze from the Marina make it fresh even on the hottest of days. Definitely a must-go for both dogs and humans alike!

Two fenced in areas, one for small and one for large dogs, make for a very safe and welcoming space.

There are so many overrated parks around - this is not one of them. I think its an underrated park in an underrated city. Martinez is one of these cities that just isn't Walnut Creek or Danville or Orinda. A more affordable city and a family friendly one. Its good to get out and take a walk. I recommend you do that once in a while and why not try a different park from what your used to every once in a while? If you have a dog they will particularly love it sniffing around someplace new. Some of the park is noticed from the main road - Morello. You might even see some people enjoying the basketball hoop from there. Just the 'curb appeal' of the park will get you interested to see more. When I got here with Sweets had in gear this launch mode I hadn't seen since he was a bit younger. His enthusiasm was intense and I was surprised since for the most part he just likes to stay at home - Netflix and chill. There really is something for the whole family to enjoy here. A very underrated park that you need to make time to see one day soon.

Personally, we enjoyed this park more as it was paved and had more amenities, such as exercise equipment and children's play spaces. It could definitely use more culture and zhuzh as there were many spots where a bit of design (such as a mural) would have improved the vibe. But that being said, it wasn't too bad for a mid-sized neighborhood park. Our favorite areas were the small overlook with stone bench and the bridge that connected back to the trail towards Lakes. Sadly, like Lakes, some of the trails that lead down from the bridge were a bit washed out so we didn't get explore as much as we would have liked but all in all we much enjoyed getting some steps in and would definitely come back - but perhaps on a day where it's not raining.

These two parks are often confused as one park, but they actually intercept each other. This is an excellent place to bring the kiddies as there is a pretty large play structure in tow. There's also a huge grassy field that's perfect for picnicking and other recreational activities. The walking paths are all paved and lead to other trails within nearby Hidden Lakes Park. There's tons of picnic space and each picnic area can be reserved for special events. You'll find a good amount of exercise equipment near a few of the walking paths. Parking is easy and there are clean restrooms on site. This is the perfect spot for a leisurely stroll or a light run. The large grassy field space is also very desirable for dog owners. I immediately noticed how clean this park was as soon as I arrived. They definitely do an excellent job of cleaning and maintaining this area. I'd say that this is one of the better local parks in the area.
