Archie's second time at a dog park.
    Marie B.

This is an awesome dog park for both large and small dogs. The small dog park is just large enough for Archie (23 LBs) to run around. There is a huge area for larger dogs to run around and plenty of benches spread all over. I like that there is a hiking trail as well in the same area. The water stations are in good working condition, we bring our own bowl though. Poop bags are available as well. The only negatives are: some owners are too busy socializing to see if their dog does his business somewhere and therefore poop left behind. The small dog area is dusty where the grass is sparse and we always end up doing a good wipe down after every visit. The ground in the small dog area is also very uneven, watch those ankles. Lastly, beware of foxtails if going for the short hike.

All of Sully's friends (and Sully the Boston Terrier) patiently waiting for their treat.

Nice park and nice people. If only it was open on Sundays! Many of the people here have been coming for years. People interact with all of the dogs. There are also walking trails (on leash) surrounding the park. The small dog park (25lbs or less) is right next to the large dog park and they love running the fence with the big dogs.

I love this dog park and never had a problem until today!! If you see a man and women with a yellow lab and Dalmatian, please take a photo of them and send it to me. Or try to get their car information. Their dog bit my dog and they ran away from me and gave me NO contact information. I now have to go spend over $200 to get my dogs wound to be cleaned out and examined. NOT OKAY! Please contact me if you know these people. Thanks.

Love it! Lots of grass for my little girl to run, run, run! We met many nice, small dogs and even ran along the fence next to the large dogs. I think I had more fun that my dog 'cause I was chatting with other dog lovers!

Great park but it's closed during shelter in place. As of 1/2 it's open again! Also, the surrounding area has a beautiful hiking trail, which I highly recommend you check out if you want to feel like you are submerged in the jungle.

This is a dog park tucked back in the hills. Nice benches to sit on while the pups played. Very busy, the large dog area had many pooches. We shared the small dog enclosure with just a couple of puppers. The reason one star is deducted is the rough ground, it is gopher hole city. Watch your step! All of the other owners were super friendly. My girls enjoyed their playtime.

My German Shepard always has fun with new friends she makes!

Great dog park hands down! When you and your pup are done playing with new friends. There's a great hiking trail with water stations behind the dog park that you both can enjoy!

I found a great new dog park to add to my 'doggie fun day' rotation! Yes my little Fiona-bear is only about 22lbs, but I can tell she enjoyed it. She stayed right next to me the whole time, sniffed a few spots, trotted away, did her thing, ran away from some big dogs, and came back to my side; yup that means she enjoyed it! This place is fantastic! I can't say much about the small dog side. Although it looks like there's plenty of room for them, with a lot of healthy green grass. As for the large dog area, it's HUGE! There's a water station with hoses, buckets, and plenty of benches. What more could a dog ask for!?!?!? What more can you ask? Well I've got the answer. I think the highlight of this place is the ample amount of trees. This place provides plenty of shade versus the popular ones like Heather Farms (Walnut Creek) or Memorial Park (San Ramon). And of the three, this one is the largest. We'll be back!

This dog park is closed more than any other dog park I've ever been to. But it is a big open space.

The grass is lush and well kept, and there are even trees being planted for future shade! What I love the most is how HUGE the space is for the big dogs. Just make sure to pick out a poopy bag from the front of the gate before you get in because the one inside is pretty far off. The only thing though is that it's just a damn shame there are still some nasty pet owners who don't take responsibility for their own pet and pick up after them. There was a large pile of poo laying out there for my boyfriend to step on... so be careful?

This is located in a newer developed neighborhood called (you guessed it) Highlands Ranch. They have 2 play structures, a baseball field, basketball court, tennis court, volleyball area, and a soccer field. They also have a large, covered picnic area right in the center of it all. You can reserve this space from the city of Pittsburg on non-holiday weekends. The only bad thing about this park is the wind. We all know that when we are playing a sport, the wind can carry the ball in unwanted directions. That's my only reason this park didn't make the 5 stars cut.

If you want a small fenced area or separation between big and small dogs, this isn't the spot for you. If you enjoy walking while your doggo romps and runs around, or watching other dogs play, this is your dream come true. Now for the caveats: Beware that there are lots of foxtails in the summer. Low tide reveals a silty, bottom-of-the-bay mud that is sticky and very STINKY. Puddles after a rain can also be stinky and silty but they're doing a better job using wood chips to help cover many of them.
