We were then told we had 45 minutes to choose from 2 other doctors that we never heard of before or cancel the surgery and get a refund. After talking to my wife for a few minutes we decided to cancel the surgery and asked for a refund . We were then escorted back up front and were simply handed a piece of paper ( sticky note ) that only had an email address and we were told we would have to email them for a refund, when I began to ask questions and complain about this they acted like they didn't speak English anymore . My wife then began to search for Dr Loessin on google and found him in Miami Lakes at another company called Harmony Cosmetics, my wife then called there office and made a same day appointment with Dr Loessin. When we arrived and explained our situation to Dr Loessin in person he agreed to perform my wife's surgery the next day . Dr Loessin also explained that he had left CG COSMETICS 3 weeks prior due to reasons that he could not disclose. We then went back to our hotel and emailed CG for a refund since they had lied to us about the doctor resigning that morning and tried to pressure us into having another Dr who we didn't know , perform the surgery, be advised at this time they were in breach of contract as the agreed upon Doctor had left 3 weeks prior and could have told us about it , giving us plenty of time to research another doctor . We also explained that they were going to file complaints with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and the Florida Board of Medicine as well as file fraud charges with our credit card company . Now CG did respond saying sorry and that they would look into our refund within 30 business days , it has been almost 2 months now and haven't heard anything from them despite several emails demanding our money back due to a breach of contract. These people in my opinion have committed fraud and need to be held accountable! If anyone reads this please reconsider using CG Cosmetics, this has been the worst experience we have ever been through. They are unprofessional and have no morals or integrity. We are still out of pocket thousands of dollars on hotel and airfare that could not be refunded because of CG's deceptive practices. The clinic staffs are very busy. Long waiting time in the waiting room even if you have a 9am appointment, you will be seen past 12noon based on experience. Post op nurses here are always on a rush, they also have earbuds on their ears talking spanish non stop and I cannot understand anything. Even if you're in excruciating pain they don't care, as soon as you wake up they want you in a wheelchair and get out even if you ate groggy. Its affordable here compared to different states that's why most people travel here because the amount you spend will be a quarter of what's for example in the Bay area. But expect you are just a number here. People go in and out and that's it. If you have a problem or complication, you are on your own. Its hard to communicate to the staff even if you are dying or what. Emergency room or PCP will not help you if you have a complication as well. Dr Kaufman is 5/5 but the clinic staffs is 1/5. They recently increased their prices and it takes couple of months to get a schedule.

The day i left for my surgery i was in contact with another fantastic person this time would be the OR Nurse and my God did she made me feel at ease when i Arrived I was probably nervous I can't lie but all my worries and concern if any where long gone when I met Belkis she was very attentive before and after surgery. I felt very comfortable with all the staff in the office down to even the receptionist they where always on top of me asking how i was after surgery. I had a tummy tuck on…read more03/19/26 with supposedly "Dr. Amin Atul" during the consult when the surgeon is supposed to come in and mark you instead of the surgeon I was greeted by his nurse practitioner after he left the room I stated to the anesthesiologist "hey that's not my surgeon" his response in Spanish was "don't worry that his nurse practitioner he was a surgeon in Cuba" (I wish I was lying.) which leads me to believe they are using Dr. Amin face but in reality it's the nurse practitioner performing these procedures. 24 hours post op I went to my first massage done by Ana I had what looked like a purple bruise below my belly button and I was told by Ana in Spanish "that is a complication from surgery and it happens often" I trusted her. 1 week passes by I had the appointment with the surgeon, I already had what was an open wound with draining as you can see in the photos attached. I was told it was normal and Ana continued to wrap me in the abdominal binder everyday tighter and tighter which wasn't the correct thing to do with an open wound. One point the nurse practitioner sees me and prescribed me a cream, the next day I told Ana and the medical assistant Niubi that the cream he prescribed cost to much and I didn't have the money at the time if they can call him and ask if there is anything else I can use. Niubi came back and said you need to use what he sent you. A week passes by I tell the nurse practitioner I couldn't afford the cream he looks at me and says "why didn't you tell them?" I said "but I did" he looks at Niubi and says "when that happens you need to call me and tell me because I would have given her the cream" THEY DIDNT EVEN CALL HIM AND TELL HIM I COULDN'T AFFORD IT. This continued on for about 1 month they finally decided to do a culture and send to the lab because now I was draining green pus with a horrible smell they started me on a antibiotic. I got a call 4 days after the culture that I had staphylococcus growing, I asked the medical assistant so what's the game plan with this draining and this smell and she said yeah we have to wait for another culture but the drainage and smell is normal. I went to the hospital that same night because I knew something was off. Everyone at the hospital was shocked; shocked to hear I never met the surgeon, shocked to hear they never did an ultrasound, shocked to hear how clinics like this are still able to be open. It's disgusting, they don't care about anyone. This is a literal chop shop. Once they get your money they are done with you. I also want to mention that the medical assistant Niubi went to a cheap nursing school and the board ended up taking her license from her bc the school wasn't accredited by the state of Florida, I know this because in conversation she told me yet she's the medical assistant at this wonderful clinic. She and everyone else there including Ana that after me defending myself and saying it ended up getting that bad because of her my last massage that I paid $400 for 5 massages was about 10 mins all because I had defending myself the day prior. All of them including who they call the nurse, a shorter man who also stated he is part manager are all so rude and unprofessional once you start defending yourself and realizing all the thing going on at this clinic. Point of the matter is, I never met this mystery surgeon, I've never seen him walk in that clinic. They didn't do an ultrasound to see where the drainage was coming from. I ended up with a $67,000 bill from the hospital because the hospital needed to fix a mistake they did not make. And he got my stomach flat and my back rolls down from 2 to 1. lol. So that definitely boosted my confidence and I'm forever grateful. I then came back mid January for bbl and lipo 360 and so far I am loving my results. He is so kind. But also know that in order to get answers from him you have to have your questions ready. He soft spoken and is a man of few words. The nurses in the waiting after surgery are a little bitchy but that doesn't bother me because I can be very bitchy as well. That is something that they can work on, is how they treat patients after having surgery. But I also hear this about other clinics not just Smart Plastics. However I will be returning to Dr. Shanklin to finish the next phase of my weight-loss and plastic surgery journey.

But on surgery day, while he was marking me, he changed his story and told me I actually needed a tummy tuck and that he could only take a very limited amount of fat out, saying I needed to diet and exercise. If I'm supposed to diet and exercise, then why on earth am I coming to you? What am I paying you for if that's the solution? It felt like he just didn't want to take out much because he was trying to rush me. He had 10 or 15 more people to do that same day. After surgery, I was in a lot of pain. Be aware that they don't give you any pain medication through your IV in recovery -- the anesthesia only puts you to sleep. You come out of anesthesia with nothing for pain and have to wait for the person picking you up before they'll discharge you. They don't give you any paperwork or paper trail. They make you sign so many papers and don't give you anything, not even your receipt. I asked over and over for my receipt and they wouldn't give it to me. I was in Miami for five days before going back to Los Angeles. On my second day of massages, I kept asking for my paperwork and receipt because I had to pay for my massage package. When they finally gave it to me, I noticed they overcharged me for everything. When I tried to speak to someone about it, no one was there or the office was closed. It's been two weeks since surgery and I have not been checked on. No one has called to see how I'm doing or to express any concern. They shut you down, they overcharge you, and they don't do good work. I noticed he took out very little fat and what he did take out is uneven. I think he did one swipe on each area. It was a waste for me to pay all that money and go through so much pain for a botch job. I'm still in a lot of pain. This is a horrible doctor. Do not go to Smart Plastic Surgery at all. I reached out right away with photos and a phone call, but it took about a week to get a response. I was told to use Polysporin, but the wound seemed to worsen. I sent additional photos and updates but experienced a much longer delay in hearing back. Out of concern, I went to the ER where tests confirmed there was no infection, but I still had an open wound. I eventually went to a post-op specialist I've trusted from previous procedures, and with their guidance, the wound began to improve within days. What made this even more frustrating was the way the booking process was handled. I was expected to review documents, sign agreements, and make payment within a very short timeframe during the same call. I did not feel I was given a reasonable opportunity to fully understand the terms or the possibility of a surgeon substitution before committing financially. The identity and qualifications of the surgeon were a major factor in my decision to proceed. Learning about the change after the fact significantly damaged my trust and confidence in the process. When patients are making important medical decisions, transparency and clear communication should be a priority. Based on my experience, I felt pressured during the intake process and disappointed by the lack of clear communication regarding a change that directly affected my decision. As a result, I chose not to move forward with treatment and requested a refund of my deposit.
