And he got my stomach flat and my back rolls down from 2 to 1. lol. So that definitely boosted my confidence and I'm forever grateful. I then came back mid January for bbl and lipo 360 and so far I am loving my results. He is so kind. But also know that in order to get answers from him you have to have your questions ready. He soft spoken and is a man of few words. The nurses in the waiting after surgery are a little bitchy but that doesn't bother me because I can be very bitchy as well. That is something that they can work on, is how they treat patients after having surgery. But I also hear this about other clinics not just Smart Plastics. However I will be returning to Dr. Shanklin to finish the next phase of my weight-loss and plastic surgery journey.

But on surgery day, while he was marking me, he changed his story and told me I actually needed a tummy tuck and that he could only take a very limited amount of fat out, saying I needed to diet and exercise. If I'm supposed to diet and exercise, then why on earth am I coming to you? What am I paying you for if that's the solution? It felt like he just didn't want to take out much because he was trying to rush me. He had 10 or 15 more people to do that same day. After surgery, I was in a lot of pain. Be aware that they don't give you any pain medication through your IV in recovery -- the anesthesia only puts you to sleep. You come out of anesthesia with nothing for pain and have to wait for the person picking you up before they'll discharge you. They don't give you any paperwork or paper trail. They make you sign so many papers and don't give you anything, not even your receipt. I asked over and over for my receipt and they wouldn't give it to me. I was in Miami for five days before going back to Los Angeles. On my second day of massages, I kept asking for my paperwork and receipt because I had to pay for my massage package. When they finally gave it to me, I noticed they overcharged me for everything. When I tried to speak to someone about it, no one was there or the office was closed. It's been two weeks since surgery and I have not been checked on. No one has called to see how I'm doing or to express any concern. They shut you down, they overcharge you, and they don't do good work. I noticed he took out very little fat and what he did take out is uneven. I think he did one swipe on each area. It was a waste for me to pay all that money and go through so much pain for a botch job. I'm still in a lot of pain. This is a horrible doctor. Do not go to Smart Plastic Surgery at all. But if you're still thinking about going anyway, do NOT choose Dr. Pittman. They are money hungry. They will rob you and barely do thing.

Dr. Bazell is warm, friendly, and has an excellent bedside manner. He took the time to explain everything in detail on the day of surgery, listened to my goals, and also gave his professional recommendations. I truly believe the best results come from good communication--sharing what you want while also trusting your surgeon's expertise. The office staff and surgical coordinator were kind, professional, and reassuring. Even though the clinic was busy, I never felt rushed and all of my questions were answered. Recovery is surgery, so expect some pain, bruising, swelling, and drainage, but following their instructions has made the process much smoother. I've also had three lymphatic drainage massages with Yudy, and they've been a huge help. She is caring, knowledgeable, and the massages have helped reduce my swelling and discomfort. My doctor Marshal Deirdre is the very best, the top, and I would never change her. The anesthesia person as well was best I have ever experienced, like peaceful calming and sleeping experience. Now, the way this clinic works is absolutely absurd and very dangerous. After my triple Surgery (eye lift, breast and vaginoplasty), the clinic called my husband to pick me up. I wasn't totally awake from anesthesia, after i arrived home, wich i can't remember anything in that interval, maybe one hour later i start being awake at my house. Next day i had at the same clinic 15 min care and sent home with no very clear instructions. I was given a phone number to contact a nurse Fanny and I was let go. After I got some minor complications happened within the 2nd day after surgery, so I text Fanny, but took between 24 and 48 hours to get an answer. Now, i am unclear if in my case i need any dilatation, but there is nobody wanting to answer me this question, after texting and calling the clinic, got no answer. They message is clear: we are done with you! I will avoid large loop doing anything in this clinic. As per saying: the cheap results expensive. And they are not really very cheap, maybe some hundred $, comparing with may high class competitive climics that offers constantly discounts and care after surgery. My advice: DON'T TRY THEM! I am a very healthy and strong person, I recovered well, but I am thinking on some not so strong or healthy, that may have complications after the surgery, this clinic will just close they door on your face after take your money and give you what promised as a service. This is my experience only! I can not even believe most reviews on here as for my experience this place should AT LEAST have 4.5 stars. But I am not invalidating those really bad reviews, I just couldn't, nor can't relate my experience was soo good I'm writing this 5 hours after I came back home. (Also this is my first surgery so I am ignorant to better experiences... This is the only one known to me thus far, and it was very very good.) STEP 1 - BOOKING: Was very easy, my procedure was $2,500 + the surgical bra which was $55. In total: $2,555.00 . To secure my booking I had to pay $255.50 and as of for me since the day I payed the booking fee -- Mia Aesthetics staff would call me every Monday to check up on my LAB work and clearance... There was definitely pressure but like when people are strict and are serious about their job it shows and I like it!!. STEP 2 - LAB WORK/Clearance: Mia Aesthetics staff were very patient with me and continuously gave me more time to submit LAB WORK/clearance. I am a very busy girl and could barely make it to most appointments but everything worked out perfectly and smooth. 10/10 LAB WORK/Clearance experience (Note: if you have insurance you'll pay $4.99 for all this paper work to be done, which is amazing!) +Bonus - DRUG USE/NICOTINE: Marijuana doesn't matter, at least not that much as it is the only drug not subject for cancellation. I still did quit: Alcohol, marijuana and nicotine use 2 months before my surgery... However if your job demands you to go outside to get water for yourself, food supplies etc... Then you know how hard it is to (not) find someone sparking up a cigarette or vaping everywhere you go. I would wear masks, take long paths JUST to not get second hand smoke, and required my husband, my sister and anyone around me to smoke outside of my house (not just outside my room) and wash their hands afterwards. STEP 3 - PREOP: Amazing pre-op experience! Took less then 30 minutes and I went by myself, all good They'll ask you to sign papers of approval, then direct you to a room where they'll: check you BMI, check your weight/height, ask you how long ago you quit any substances and will be taking your before pictures! STEP 4 - SURGERY DAY: (Note: I coudn't eat or drink anything for 8 hours before the surgery which was the hardest part as I am addicted to drinking water every second... They did provide Gatorade after waking up.) I came in and they asked me to sign some more papers, my surgery was scheduled for 6AM but I was asked to come in at 5AM. I live here in Miami so the commute was splendid. So yeah they asked me to sign some papers, in less than 10 minutes things got REAL... they directed me to a room where they tested me for nicotine, drugs and other things... (Which by the way they'll only test you for nicotine if you have complications if not they won't... If I knew that I would've saved myself the dirty looks of people when I held my breath around them just because they were smoking and I was scared my test was gonna come up positive because of second hand smoke)... Anyways the medical assistant was nice she was very helpful and accommodating, gave me the princess treatment and then the doctor came we discussed sizes and medications... Then the anesthesiologist came by and we talked about if I had any allergies, etc. I wanted to hug her afterwards 'cause she is truly amazing (I can't really remember names, I can barely remember my family bdays) but she was brunette AND also I was so so cold due to the anesthesia so I wasn't gonna do all of that just to hug her, but she was that great and motherly that I was hurting from my breasts and I was still thinking "omg give me a hug you're so nice" SHE WILL HAVE YOU CLOSE YOUR EYES AND OPEN THEN BOOM... Big boobs! ... They then carried me through the back and my sister was ready to pick me up (I came out at 8AM... They whole process probably took 2 hours. To come: STEP 5 - POSTOP: I am having my pre-op tomorrow at 9AM then on Monday at the same time so this review isn't done yet! They sent me an email saying I was cleared then basically took the clearance back. I'm filing a law suit because the policy says nothing about non-refundable if they cancel on me. Why pay for their negligence in reviewing my file previously. They said administrative fees. However, I submitted documents on Sunday when they sent them to me and by Tuesday I was approved then denied. So 2 days of sending me an email means no refund is a joke.

This team blew my mind and I'm not sure if it's just because I'm used to snotty LA doctors but this team brought me to tears. They left me in awe. The clinic operates very quickly, and at times it can feel like you're just another number being moved through the process. For example, my surgery was scheduled for 1:15 PM, but I didn't go back until 8:35 PM, which felt extremely unorganized and unprofessional. Post-op care was another area that could be improved. I didn't see my surgeon again after the procedure, and the follow-up felt minimal. Since this wasn't my first surgery, I was comfortable navigating recovery on my own--but if this were my first experience, I could see how the lack of guidance would feel overwhelming and even a bit scary. I also wasn't impressed with the post-op massages. They are listed as 30-minute sessions but felt much shorter and rushed. In my opinion, they weren't worth the cost, and similar care could be done at home. That said, I do want to give credit where it's due. Dr. Miller did a phenomenal job. My breast augmentation revision looks very natural and proportionate, which was exactly what I wanted. My Lipo 360 results also turned out really well, and I'm happy with my overall outcome. If you are looking for an affordable option, this clinic may work for you. The clinic staffs are very busy. Long waiting time in the waiting room even if you have a 9am appointment, you will be seen past 12noon based on experience. Post op nurses here are always on a rush, they also have earbuds on their ears talking spanish non stop and I cannot understand anything. Even if you're in excruciating pain they don't care, as soon as you wake up they want you in a wheelchair and get out even if you ate groggy. Its affordable here compared to different states that's why most people travel here because the amount you spend will be a quarter of what's for example in the Bay area. But expect you are just a number here. People go in and out and that's it. If you have a problem or complication, you are on your own. Its hard to communicate to the staff even if you are dying or what. Emergency room or PCP will not help you if you have a complication as well. Dr Kaufman is 5/5 but the clinic staffs is 1/5. They recently increased their prices and it takes couple of months to get a schedule.
