Where do I begin. I went in October to have a MMO. Everyone was super nice, absolutely love Dr. Schusterman, the facility was clean and nice. There was an issue during my surgery and all I ended up getting was some lipo. When I woke up from my surgery they told me what happened and that I would be getting a refund for everything except the lipo. Fast forward to today and still do not have my refund. They keep telling me that it takes 30 to 60 business days however the paper I signed said I would receive the refund within 30 days. Not business days. I really wanted to go back to have my surgery finished but there is no reason why the refund should take this long and unfortunately, I do not think I will be going back. I went in for a blepharoplasty, specifically requesting a "cat-eye" look. Like many others, I was promised everything online and encouraged to pay upfront. But once you arrive, they often push a completely different procedure. You're left with the choice of going through with something you didn't originally plan for or waiting months for a refund,if they even agree to refund you at all. My eyes were severely botched. I cried to their office for four months, and instead of taking responsibility, they kept insisting I needed a coronal lift to see improvement. I asked for a revision because my eyes looked so bad. They guaranteed results and had me pay for the coronal lift. Then, on the day of surgery, the office manager told me that Dr. Schusterman decided I didn't need the lift after all and would perform a revision instead. That "revision" made my eyes even worse. The most heartbreaking part is that because this was considered cosmetic and not medically necessary, no lawyer was willing to take the case. I also had neck liposuction, and now the skin and fat on my neck are hanging, making me look older instead of younger. Please, do your research before trusting anyone with your body. I booked a surgery with this company last year and paid a $4,000 deposit. From the very beginning, my experience with their staff was not pleasant. This review is for Dr. Mark Schusterman. I had a deep plane face lift done along with my eyes and my chin. I have had horrible results and i now have horrible scars that are noticeable. Before i looked very old, now i look old with scars. I cant pull my hair up or back because of an incision scar that runs down my face and hideous scars that run behind my ears (the doctor made no attempt to hide them within my hairline). I'm very depressed regarding this and at some point i intend to have scar revisions. I flew from California in December of 2025, before everything my Doctor had to be changed two times, not because of me. The first Surgeon left and I had no idea, not until I called did they inform me, so then I chose Dr. Salama and once the date got closer they told me he was going to be out on vacation and that I could change my surgeon or the date. My swelling had gone down and my stomach was uneven my arms were very uneven and only a little section was done when I was told the whole bottom area would be getting Lipo when I scheduled. Along with my back the gluteal area and about 3 inches from it was done fine but the rest up to where my chest would be nothing was taken out. Even the lady who did my massages in California said it was not done well and things were very uneven and still are,when I was told 360 would be anything below the chest area and it's clearly uneven and only a small area was done. I emailed the medical assistant and never heard back find out she had left . I wish I would've read the reviews prior to booking with this place. Been waiting almost a YEAR for a refund. UNACCEPTABLE! I've been calling to follow up for MONTHS with no resolution. There's no way it should take this long for a refund. Back in April 2024 when I initially started the process for refund, I was told that it takes 90 business days and that I would be automatically refunded if it reached the 90 day mark. Well again, that was last year. I had to call back again to (I guess) get the refund process looked at again and was told that they would look into it and process the refund asap. That was Jan 2025 and it's now going on April 2025 and I still haven't received a refund. No call back. Very scam-like behavior. Then I look at the other comments and see that others were having the same issue and I see where someone from Avana went ahead and processed their refund. Make it make sense! My surgery was scheduled for July 28, 2025, but it was never performed due to the clinic's lack of coordination between the administration and clinical department. I was required to pay the full amount of $6,100 for a facelift three days before the procedure. Only hours after I made the payment, I was told during intake that I would need a "special clearance" from my hematologist. The clinic knew very well that I had traveled from New York to Miami exclusively for this surgery, and as a result of your lack of responsibility I incurred significant travel expenses. I spent about three years looking into different doctors, and not once did I feel truly comfortable, until I met him. From the start, I could tell he was experienced and trustworthy. I never found a single bad thing said about him, and now I understand why. I struggle with really bad anxiety, and honestly, I almost didn't go through with my surgery because of it. But Dr. Schusterman was so patient and kind, especially on the day of my procedure, that I felt safe putting my trust in him. He performed an extended tummy tuck, lipo 360, and arm and chin lipo for me. The results are better than I ever imagined. My experience following a "Mommy Makeover" performed by Dr. Luster at Avana Plastic Surgery in July 2025 was catastrophic, resulting in severe and potentially negligent complications. The postoperative course was rapidly complicated by a confirmed Pseudomonas aeruginosa surgical site infection. This infection necessitated an emergency explantation of a breast implant, led to nipple necrosis and subsequent loss, and resulted in a significant, disfiguring breast deformity. Furthermore, the abdominoplasty incision experienced dehiscence and required multiple surgical debridements. My wife and I went to Florida for Face and Neck Lifts in June. My wife went on a Tuesday and I was scheduled for Wednesday. I picked my wife up Tuesday afternoon. We returned to our hotel and her neck began swelling. I called the office and was told the doctor would call back in 20 minutes. He did not call. I called again several times. Finally I call for emergency care. We would up at a trauma center where an active beefing vessel was found in my wife's neck. She spent four days on a respirator and was discharged a week after her surgery at Avana and two additional surgeries at the trauma center. Clearly neglect surgery and I nearly lost my wife! Doctor Mameniskis did my upper and lower blepharoplasty He did a terrible job. The scars are uneven, the stitches were barbarically done and pulled so tight it left folds and ceases on my skin. He made the procedure significant more painful and uncomfortable than it needed to be and I now need corrective surgery. Okay WORTH THE READ! For starters they are good with responding to emails and calling you back etc! I booked my surgery a year out and I will say don't book just save and wait for the sale! I booked my surgery feb 2022; surgery was Jan 5 2024, so I had plenty of time to save on my own and wait for the sale! I paid $5700 for Dr. Moridian & then they had a sale for $4700 (black Friday/Christmas) Nonetheless it is what it is. Now everything was done now time to fly to Miami. Pre-op was easy, I met w my doctor and he told me he wanted me to get cell saver (extra $600) I did it bc it's better but now we're at $6300. PREOP was RUSHED. Everything there is RUSHED that's the ONE of the things I hated about AVANA. I had so many questions and I just felt like I couldn't think bc I felt like they were just trying to see me and just be done. Doctor saw me and told me what he's gonna do and it was so quick like maybe 5-10 mins TOPS. Like idk about you but I feel like we should have more time? Like we're about to undergo surgery and why is it so rushed? I wanted to ask things that came to mind and I just was like "I guess I'll save it for tomorrow (day of surgery)". DAY OF... I was the first patient for Dr. Moridian for the day, so I was excited about that. Again rushed; we chatted for like 5 mins guys.. then he marked me up and told me he was gonna see me in the OR. I will say I did like Dr. Moridian, he's very nice and very confident. Then I met w the anesthesiologist and he took me to the OR. And that was it I woke up with a new body! They came over to me and told me to get up ( I just woke up form surgery and their telling me to get up?) idk if my legs work yet lol like I was dizzy, nauseous, I was having hot flashes and felt like I was going to faint, and very scared. I got up; with any strength I had and they put me in a wheelchair. I felt like I was slowly fading away. They didn't care; they wanted me OUT!!! I thought the doctor would come after and see how I'm doing . NOPE. They kicked me out of that place so fast like they had to pick up their kids. They also make you pay for your meds! $160; for oxy, nausea medication and antibiotics. Next day was my first massage.. AVANA- pls do better. Your massage rooms are uncomfortable and dingy. The blinds don't close so you essentially just naked in front of the parking lot.. the ladies all the do is talk about the newest gossip.. I bought the 10 massage package; $850 comes with 2 fajas, 10 massages, IV DRIP (dk if I actually got it) & board and a bbl pillow. Do yourself a favor and DONT; there's plenty of other places that will make you feel more comfortable getting your massages, or at least give you a bra to get massaged in, so your not flashing the entire parking lot. The bbl pillow is cheap and the board I did not use. Just get everything yourself trust me. Overall the ladies WERE kind. But I feel like they can do way better to make us feel way more comfortable. Conclusion.. if your looking for a doctor to communicate with you - not the place for that. Everything is rushed. After post op my doctor came in for 3 mins.. said I looked good and was running out the door trying to ask him questions. 4 stars bc I love my body! I came here to AvanA because it had great reviews. I bought the promotion for my mother a bbl and tummy tuck. We took lab tests here in Los Angeles. Story short ekg came out bad And The glucose levels weren't as great. AvanA still did my mother surgery but said they would be able to do the tummy tuck and I need a refund. After surgery my mother started feeling very sick to the point that she would faint everyday after the post-op procedure massages. Turns out my mother needed an emergency blood transfusion. My mother has her massages done at AvanA ! They said she was fine and that it was fine if she bleed out a lot from the deranged tub. MY MOM HAS LEUKEMIA NOW ! It's been since April and we still haven't gotten a response from them about our refund! It's now November going on to December. How long do we have to wait if she didn't get the tummy tuck or the iron shot. We need our money back obviously To help us pay my mother's treatment because now she has CANCER ! I went to Dr Scurlock two times for a BBL reduction and reshaping. This man never took fat out of my butt he only went around the perimeter of my bottom. And has the nerve now to be upset because he didn't do his job and I'm putting him on blast all over the internet. This doctor has many dissatisfied patients but he hushes them with lawsuits. I have pictures and proof of many women who have been traumatized by this doctor. His concern is being on social media and his family and your money nothing else. Deal with him at your own risk but I would advise you to take your money elsewhere. He is a hit or miss doctor with more misses than not. This place is complete scam when it comes to getting a refund. I request a refund 3 years ago and still haven't received anything. They stated that they'll refund the money back to the payment method I used to pay for my surgery. I informed the refund department that the payment method I used to pay for surgery the account has been closed. I also sent over documents informing them the account was closed. Two months after requesting the refund Avana claimed they refunded the money to the closed account. I spoke with the bank "Wells Fargo" they stated that once an account is closed any payments sent to the account will return back to sender (which is common sense) I emailed the refund department the information informing them that Wells Fargo never received the refund. Avana claims they never received a return check from Wells Fargo. Three years later I'm still having issues getting my refund and the staff isn't helpful at all. read more
