Food and service are amazing. The ambiance is so welcoming. You won't go wrong with this establishment.

Solid 4 stars - Food(4/5): - Overall, the food is pretty good. The only thing I'm confused about is that it's supposedly a Mediterranean restaurant, but they have items like chicken and waffles? - The garlic bread here is soooo delicious! I would definitely recommend ordering it. - I've ordered the "Bistecca" twice now. The first time, the meat was over salted and pretty tough. For some reason I decided to order it again and this time, it was it soooo tender, juicy, and just delicious!! I don't really care for the french fries that come with it, but the zucchini and the New York strip itself are great! - My boyfriend ordered the pork chops and it was also really good! When he stuck his fork in the pork chop to cut a piece, his fork basically went through the pork chop. It was that tender! I was so amazed. The pork chop was also juicy and not dry at all! Service(4/5): - The first time I came here, I was not impressed. The waiter we had did not seem like he wanted to be there and just gave a bad vibe. I didn't get his name, but I would say that with the prices you're paying for your meal, you'd hope for better service. - With our most recent trip here, we had GERRY. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and just gave amazing service. Thank you Gerry!! Location: - If you don't know where you're going, you can definitely miss it. The restaurant is definitely cute and smaller than you'd expect, but it kind of gives a cozy feel. - There's street parking, as well as a few parking lots, so finding parking shouldn't be too much of a trouble. Overall, if you're looking for a new restaurant in the South Bay, I would give this place a try. read more

We've been to this place a few times, but what a treat tonight being seated at the counter! Seeing all the kitchen workers skillfully keeping up with all the orders is quite interesting. Food selection is plentiful. There's a wide variety to choose from including meats, seafood, pasta and pizza... all dishes are flavorful and well presented. Portions are more than generous. I have been to Odeum 3 or 4 times. The food has always been delicious and we love the ambiance too. Last Saturday we had an outstanding service by Travin . He took his time to give us suggestions on the menu, has a great personality and was very attentive. The manager also came and checked on us to make sure everything was good. So, not only the food is incredible, but also service and ambiance make this place one of my favorites! read more

We made the reservation in Open Table website for 3 people dinner at 5:45 pm on 10/30. The option for sitting in their website is "Standard" or "outside ". We do not want sit outside, so we click "Standard". When we arrive at 5:30, the restaurant had just a few customers and most table inside are still not occupied, the lady at reception told us our reservation is for table outside and directly bring there, we tried to explain it maybe is logic error in their website, "standard " vs "outside" for choosing sitting, and we did not prepare clothes suiting outside, but she did not want listening and showing to help. We had no choose and left. read more

Came with a reservation to the restaurant on time. When they walked us to our seats they tried seating us on the sides of the corner bar next the kitchen/bar entrance. I informed them we rather sit at a table so we can see each, so then they told us to wait for seats. They then came back and walked us to a table all the way in the back corner where it was incredibly hot. At my seat there was a lever from the window that was sticking out hitting me in the head constantly. Then let's get to our dinner. We ordered drinks and appetizers. They served us the $17 Greek yogurt appetizer I ordered with a tablespoon of yogurt and a mountain of bread. I told them there was barely yogurt, nothing happened or changed. Then our food literally never came. They didn't put in our food order at all or something "weird happened" they said. Our server took off several times on us and started bartending. A random person(not our server) came and asked us what we ordered. Then he left. Again, silence then no food or nothing. They told us something went wrong eventually(yea...you forgot to order our food). Let me put it this way. Our reservation was at 630pm. Our entrees didn't come until 810pm. This was our first time out on a date in over a year because I literally just had a baby. I was beyond bummed of our experience. I had high hopes for this restaurant but sadly I'm never eating here again. read more

This was our second visit to Odeum and I found the food to be just ok and the cost to be over the top for what we got. However, the service was friendly and accommodating. I ordered the Ahi Poke for a starter and the Fillet Mignon. The ahi was pretty good. The steak however, was really not worth the $49.95 that they charge for it. It was an 8 oz. termed "Midwest" steak. That is what I would consider a petite fillet based on just about any good steakhouse, that you can usually get for around $35. The meat, not being labeled, grass fed or locally sourced or anything else special was (I felt) overly seasoned and slightly overcooked for medium rare. The accompaniments were fine as I customized them to my liking so I can't fault the restaurant for that. My husband had soup, a salad and a primi of charred octopus which I found to be overly dry. Pulpo is one of our fav's and I have had it at several local restaurants done to perfection so it is not that we are not familiar with the texture or style of dish. I give them high points for plating as everything looked very appetizing, but if it doesn't taste as good as it looks, then the plating loses it's value. Suffice it to say, for a bill of $122 with only one main entree and no drinks other than one bottle of sparkling water, I think they charge too much for what they are selling. Understanding that if the food was stellar, I wouldn't have had an issue, but you can't do mediocre food at a 5 star price. Sorry to say, but they're coming off our dining list. read more

I'll preface this by saying I usually love Odeum and have been going there for years. Lately things have started happening though that just signal Odeum is going downhill like so many other once great restaurants. The dinner: Last night we went to the restaurant for Valentines Day and were unaware that they would only be serving an exclusive valentines menu. With no price listed on anything (food or drinks) This kind of behavior is not signature for Odeum. I had to go online to find of what the cost per person was and online it said $89 (which again, is pretty obscene and not at all exemplary of their normal dinner menu) but in reality when we got the bill it was $100/per person. The food was fine but without Odeum signature dishes (the octopus, the Moussaka or Saltimbocca) It was overall disappointing. I hated not being able to order our favorites and not being able to order them for much cheaper than $100/per person. The seating: This has been an issue for awhile. Odeum used to have wonderful thick, sturdy wooden tables and chairs. Awhile ago they switched to cheap metal ones. Almost every table wobbles. I know this because we switched tables twice and both were ridiculously wobbly. I also saw other customers fuss with their table. Tip: if every table you have wobbles- get better tables. Another change is that management is trying to squeeze as many seating stations as possible in their pretty small floor plan. Obviously this results in cramped and uncomfortable atmosphere. The Service: This used to be a signature for Odeum, wonderful servers. When they sat us at our first table that was terribly positioned next to the kitchen we had a male server that was wonderful, so kind and fast and thoughtful. Unfortunately at our next seat we were with a female server that just wasn't on her A game. Every time she did anything (get a pen, get the wine opener) she had to dig through her pants pockets for 5 minutes because her nails were so long it was hard for her to pick up small objects. I like long nails but waiting tables isn't the best place to have them. Overall: I've spent lots of money on dining experiences and if I thought Odeum's $100/prix fixe was worth it I wouldn't be writing this review. In the end, though the cost was not indicative of this restaurant's regular menu, it's because of the whole experience that made this visit a dud. read more

Service and ambiance is second to none. The food is not worth the high prices. Ordered humus flat bread appetizer and it came out burnt. How does that even get plated. The Chilean Sea Bass was over cooked, chewy, not fresh and too salty. For the prices these guys charge, I won't be going back. read more

A fall from grace. Shame, shame shame. Odeum was once great. It now sucks! We went on 4/8 only because we had a gift certificate from friends. Our prior experience was that bad. This was worse. Our server was fantastic, and the cocktails were great. But, what the chef let come out of the kitchen was terrible. The octopus appetizer which has been so good, clearly had been sitting around for a while. The first plating of NY steak special, medium rare, came out thin, gristly and 2x well done. It went back right away only to be replaced by another poor and thin cut that was simply raw. An FU from the kitchen. Never, ever going back again! read more

We enjoyed dinning here last night for our bff anniversary occasion. It is a cozy and cutest restaurant in town. Employees are attentive, super nice and friendly. First, let me say that this is simply my personal opinion. I waited a full 24 hours before I wrote this just to be sure that I was not reacting to what I felt was a meal that did not quite meet my expectations. My wife and I went to Odium for a special dinner on Saturday evening. As we approached the main entrance we saw a lovely patio. Unfortunately, there was a small child crying rather loudly. And we decided that that was not the spot for us to have this quiet fine dinner. Imagine our surprise when we open the door and found the restaurant full of smoke from the grill. So much so that we ask if we could sit at the patio. Unfortunately, all the outdoor seating was reserved. It was a good 10 minutes before the air cleared. We were seated promptly and I will say that our waiter was absolutely perfect. He was knowledgeable and informative and attentive. We only had one criticism. Near the end of the meal, he came back and asked us if we were done. He did not inquire if we would like dessert and we had to ask him about dessert. Unfortunately, when he was telling us the daily special we were unable to clearly hear him because the music was so loud. Unlike the dining experience I was hoping for, this appeared to be a rather noisy crowd. About a half an hour after we arrived they did turn the music down slightly. Still, it was difficult to carry on a conversation across the table. My wife ordered the Tropic Thunder. Although I do not like banana I did try a taste and it was quite good. For an appetizer we ordered the Almond wood-roasted eggplant, Mint, Lemon, Garlic and it was delightful and the pita bread was absolutely to die for. We also ordered the Morgan Hill mushrooms that were stuffed with a very spicy stuffing that was excellent. My wife does not particularly care for spicy food but she ate both of her mushrooms and raved about them. She ordered the pork chop with mashed potatoes and I ordered the lamb with creamed spinach and small potatoes. She asked for her Porkchop to be medium well done and I asked for my lamb to be medium rare. The food arrived in good time not too fast not too slow. Unfortunately, the crew plated the spinach and potatoes too soon and they were only lukewarm. That said they were very very good. It is too bad they were cold before I was half through with my dinner. My lamb chops were, unfortunately, nearly raw. Only the edges were done properly. The seasoning on the lamb was wonderful. These guys really know how to prepare their seasonings. But, at that point, I did not feel like sending our food back. The noise was intrusive and facing me just two tables away someone was taking flash pictures with his camera. My wife's Porkchop was huge. The mashed potatoes were perfectly prepared. They two were a bit on the cool side. The Porkchop was only medium rare. She did take it home and when I cut into it I saw that portions of it were very rare. For dessert, we ordered the TORTA AL LIMONE to share and were not disappointed. The quality of all the food was excellent and beyond reproach. I congratulate the chef on finding suppliers who give him the highest quality products available in the area. I would say this is a place to go if you're up for spending a whole lot of money and are looking for a noisy environment. It's more like a fancy pizza place than a fine dining restaurant. I was clearly overdressed in the sport coat and slacks. Many of the customers were in Hawaiian shirts and T-shirts. I will give this another try and post an update. read more

Well here it is. 3rd time in the six months was the charm. Three straight absolutely terrible experiences. 7p res, get a table outside. (Now one of three seated tables total outside) 1. Bird poop on the table, white paper was tinged yellow and crispy from being in the sun. No problem, swap the plate, napkin, silverware out for new ones. They come and dirty fork which the bus boy proceeds to scratch off with his finger something stuck on it and puts it down.....Note this fork will never be used for food consumption tonight 7:15 now and a waiter shows up to take order, we order our drinks, apps and meal...5 min later our drink arrives, still not our second app though...meanwhile the bottle of wine I ordered with dinner has not shown up. I assume manager informs me that bottle sold out last weekend and would I like to pick something else, sure. One would think he would come ready with a wine list but nope that comes back out 20 min later...... Thank goodness my other half and I like to chat because nothing else happens until 7:40 when a dollop of hummus and over grilled hard pita comes out...5 min later our drink arrives, still not our second app though...Let's put this together at this point empty drinks empty water, hummus plate empty. Everyone now around us as it filled in, eating and drinking. Manager comes by at 8:15 asks how everything was. My man I'll take the check, he says great and turns to go get it. He came back with the check and I had to then inform him we had not received our food nor our second app. "Do you want dessert?!" Sir check, food in to go boxes and be quick. This is beyond terrible for what Odeum purports itself to be. I will preface the following, I don't mind the added 20% to the check, I will leave more for a great experience...Odeum and management what you are doing is laughable and frankly embarrassing, as a local who supports local small businesses I cannot bring myself to visit your establishment anymore. This is a sad attempt at modest upscale dining.... I read more

The service and the ambience was great! The servers were very attentive and quick to communicate with us. The only reason I knocked off two stars is that the seafood was pretty salty. What a gem in Morgan Hill. I've been hearing about Odeum from a friend of mine who lives in the neighborhood so visits the restaurant frequently. Needless to say, I couldn't wait to try the food based solely on his great taste in restaurants. Myself & three friends went in on a Sunday for brunch. Walking up, the restaurant has a bit of an industrial look, I was told it is because it's a converted granary. The surrounding grounds are quite lovely. The front patio is surrounded by trees & lighting for evening al fresco dining. You get that warm Mediterranean feel just from the outside ambiance. We didn't have a reservation, but were seated promptly inside because it was a pretty hot day in the Hill. The interior is an extension of Mediterranean warmth. There is cozy seating in the main dining space where you can see into the kitchen, a small bar area, & an additional dining space in the back. You can tell that warm friendly service is top priority here - service was excellent! The star of the restaurant truly is the food. I don't think I've ever had brunch prepared so creatively with unexpected ingredients & levels of flavor. Our server recommended the bacon Bloody Mary & chicken and waffles. Three of us went with the recommendation & enjoyed the chicken & waffle. My husband opted for the steak & eggs. All of our dishes were beautifully plated & presented. The chicken & waffles was a unique mix of sweet & savory. I was pleasantly surprised by the grilled asparagus & Kalamata olives, as well as the delicious gravy. It's definitely a must try dish. My hubs steak was perfectly prepared & flavorful. Truly, no complaints on any of our food & drinks ordered. Their brunch is very well priced for this level of fine dining. I will say their cocktails are pretty steep, we were sticker shocked by the prices. Despite that, I CANNOT wait to go back especially after hearing their imported octopus is to die for. Beautiful job, Odeum. read more

When you're upset at a situation, sometimes the best thing to do is to walk away. I did a lot of walking away during my dinner at Odeum. Walked away from my table and walked away from writing this review to collect my thoughts. And I'm glad I did, because in the end a cooler head prevailed and I am now able to write a fair objective review. No, it shouldn't take an hour to get my food after the order was placed. No, it shouldn't take another hour to get my dessert. Desserts are pre made, just slice, sauce, and plate it up! But yes, you did try by giving us free appetizers. Yes, you did try by giving us a bottle of champagne. Yes, the chef did come out and greet us. And yes, the food was good. Odeum, you escaped the one star hall of shame this time. I'll leave the door open for a return visit, but may need some convincing. read more

Currently the best fine dining that Morgan Hill has to offer. We were seated a 630, just before it got really busy around 7. The toasted pita strips with dipping sauces were an amazing appetizer. For the main course, I had the homemade pasta, Pappardelle zaffrondo with scallops and shrimp. Think creamy pasta meets paella. It was rich and delicious. For dessert we shared a Galaktoboureko. It's been a few days since I posted my initial review and I have called Odeum almost every day trying to get my money back. A couple of times there has been no manager on duty, I left a message and did not get a call back. 2 days ago I got a hold of Jerry who said he was a manager and would take care of the issue, nothing happened. Yesterday I stopped by, no manager on duty. I called later and spoke to another manager, Chris. He said that he thought that my money had already been refunded and would take care of it immediately. Here it is the next day and my account has still not been credited. I will be stopping by again today and I will sit there and watch someone refund my money. Odeum may serve good food but they sure seem to have an issue with their billing and good luck trying to get help if you have ever a problem. read more

Odeum seems to have become the place for my family to go to when we are celebrating a special occasion :). Last time I went, I had just found out that I had passed the California bar exam! That dinner was a blur because it was a profound moment for me :). Good thing I went back tonight to celebrate my brother's last night in town because I feel like I can write a review with a much clearer head tonight :). I really like the ambiance of Odeum. It's casual but still cozy and elegant. I liked the lanterns on the stairway leading up to the restaurant and the colorful appetizer plates and paintings keep the atmosphere fun :). The menu is amazing. I had such a hard time choosing what to order tonight because every entree sounded SO good. And, I'm happy to report, nothing disappointed tonight. Their portions, including their desserts, are very generous as well. We had (see pictures!): Polipo Appetizer ($13.90) - Charred imported Spanish octopus, sautéed escarole and cannellini beans, lemon olive oil, chilies. This was just fabulous. We ordered this last time too. It might just be the best thing that I've had off of their menu. Definitely not to be missed! The octopus is cooked perfectly - tender with a slight char on the outside. The light citrus and garlic flavors in the sauce are just heavenly for seafood. Parparadelle ($23?) - Veal ragout with parparadelle and slices of asparagus. The texture of the parparadelle (which is now my favorite type of pasta) was excellent. The sauce was hearty and had a great sharp cheesy flavor. The thin slices of asparagus added contrast and texture. I love a good meat sauce and I would highly recommend this dish. Weiner Schnitzel ($23.95) - Natural pan-fried Karrabuta pork cutlet, German-style potato salad, cranberry orange jam, Parmesan spatzle. This is definitely one of their more interesting entrees. It's not Greek or Mediterranean, but wow, it was really good. If you like sweet and savory flavor combinations and enjoy the hearty flavors of German food, this entree will not disappoint. The pork was crispy and the spatzle was very flavorful. The potato salad was also creamy and added a nice contrast to the rest of the flavors on the dish. Very tasty and I'd recommend it! Lamb Shank ($25?) - I can't find a description of this dish on their online menu, but it came with a delicious cheesy risotto and steamed brussel sprouts. The meat was very, very tender and the shank was huge! I usually like a bit more sauce on my meat, but I can understand why a purist who enjoys a good steak might prefer this. Lamb Souvlaki ($25.90) - Grilled Australian lamb sirloin, zucchini and eggplant skewers, lemon dill yogurt, citrus vinaigrette. I had this entree last time I dined here. This is one of their more Mediterranean entrees and I thought the flavors were really interesting and I remember liking it a lot. However, I think they over-charred my lamb. The inside was perfectly pink and tender, however. I still think it's worth a try because it seems like it's one of their signature dishes. Chocolate Mousse ($10.50) - Valrhona Chocolate mousse, raspberry glaze, brownie crisp, sweet crème. I can see why other yelpers have described this as a chocolate panna cotta. It probably has gelatin in it, and it is maybe a tad too thick. It's also a really generous portion, which, of course, I appreciated. The chocolate flavors are rich and the light creme fraiche on the top balances out the deep chocolate flavor. I can see why our server said this was his favorite dessert :). read more

My beau and I decided to come here for dinner since we were too lazy to drive far for a good meal. Based on the reviews and some compliments from a few of my friends, I figured that I'd have no issues with this restaurant. When we arrived, I noticed the nice decor and outdoor seating. Since the weather was starting to get chilly and the sun was coming down, I'd opted to sit inside to get away from the bugs. ***Here's a tip, if it's really busy and you're a party of two, then they'll sit you in the middle of the restaurant right where all the waiters/waitresses come in and out. The seats and tables are way too close and it starts to become a nuisance with people trying to move past your table. I'd definitely suggest you request a table outside or wait a bit more cause your whole dining experience will be ruined. *** Luckily we were able to change tables. So here's why I gave this place 2 stars and not the outstanding 4 that everyone's been giving them. The service sucks. It's horrible and I'm sure Sal, the owner, noticed it yet decided to ignore it. The front desk girl is not as friendly and would disappeat from her stand doing god knows what. I understand that they were probably understaffed that night, but asking for our bill took a good 30 minutes and another 40 for them to just take it. (I was getting to the point where I was going to scream "Take my money, please!") I also find it pretty sad when the bus-girl refilled our water, packed our food, took our check, and help us find our waiter. The food was good with some exotic twists but I was really turned off from the service... but the tzatziki dip served with pita bread tasted delicious and the panko encrusted pork chop was so huge, 3 people can share it. read more

We had a FANTASTIC time at Odeum Restaurant last night. My husband and I weren't super hungry, so we decided to split several things in order to get a good sampling of menu items. First of all, I called Odeum first to ask about gluten-free selections and see if we needed a reservation on a Thursday night. I ended up on the phone with Salvatore, the chef, who told me there are a multitude of dishes that are gluten-free and to ask for him when we arrived. Wow! When we were seated (we got there at 9 p.m., so we missed the rush and had a relaxing time), Sal came out and pointed out the items that are gluten-free. I loved having so many choices! We started with the stuffed grape leaves (I am not a huge lamb fan, so I let hubby have the majority of them). We then ordered a fantastic beet salad to share. We had a hard time choosing the main course because they all sounded so good, but we finally decided on the pork chops. YUM!! There were so many incredible flavors happening with this dish, including roasted pear, sauteed spinach, cannelini, potatoes... not to mention the taste of the pork chop, itself. After resting ourselves a bit, :) we decided to have the yogurt with lavendar-infused honey and fresh fruit for dessert. Our server, Jorge, was fantastic, and every single person who worked there did their best (successfully) to make us feel welcome, comfortable, and satisfied with our dining experience. Jorge said they try their best to see that we come in as customers and leave as friends. LOVE the idea of Parents' Nights coming up on Monday nights! and Sal, we'll be looking for that gluten-free menu in the future, so you can stay in the kitchen making amazing dishes! Thanks! Well done!!! We'll be back. :) read more

A very disappointing experience tonight. We were so looking forward to a great evening with friends that we had not seen in a year and it was a let down. Reservations were made requesting outdoor seating and it was not granted. We were seated inside where the music was playing so loud that we were yelling across the table trying to converse. We asked several people, numerous times to please lower the loud music and and the owner was not having it. Our server was overworked and not very personable. Food was very tasty with a beautiful presentation but not everyone got served at the same time. Some of us were almost done with our salads before the last one was delivered. I left the restaurant with a massive headache. It will be a long time before I go back! read more

Odeum is most definitely a sub par restaurant. Had a terrible first experience there. I had the gnocchi and the sauce tasted like something from a ragu jar. The service was mediocre but then they miscalculated the bill. Overcharged of course. I paid the 20% service charge along with the rest of the bill of things we ordered and the waiter followed us to the car saying we were $9 short. He realized they were wrong but this place is definitely overpriced . Hope this review helps y'all. read more

Odeum focuses on Greek/Italian cuisine. And as someone who is an even mix of Greek and Italian (and having spent my summers in both Greece and Italy growing up), I feel well-suited to endorse this amazing place. And I ate here with my mom, who actually grew up in Greece and then emigrated to Florence where she lived for 10 years. So this review is effectively from both of us. We are very difficult to please when it comes to Greek / Italian cuisine! My mom affirms: this is better than Evvia, Kokkari, etc. The Polipo (octopus) blew my mind. I haven't had Octopus this delicious, ever, including all of my experiences in Greece. I am, for once, at a loss for words. When I finished eating it, I spooned the juice that remained at the bottom of the plate and slurped it up like a crazy fool. How on earth did they make it so delicious?? The Odeum gyro was better than any I've ever had, including in Greece. Damn you, Odeum... now I feel like I need to go back and re-rate / deduct stars from other gyro places in the bay area! This place literally recalibrated my expectations for what is possible from a California restaurant doing Greek/Italian cuisine. The "Pasta Special" was a pappardelle with crab meat sauce. It was delicate and delicious. The pasta was perfectly cooked, even by Italian standards. I don't think you'll get tastier pasta even in Italy. And the mille-feuille... ohhh my god!!! No seriously. I almost hate to keep saying this because it seems like hyperbole, but it was on par with the best I've had in France. Really. And it was enormous, by the way. Probably could have served 4 people. We took the balance home and I'm looking forward to snacking on it later... :) The service was wonderful. We walked in looking pretty frumpy. We actually found this place by accident 2 miles into a long walk in the area, then checked Yelp and were surprised by the great reviews and decided to give it a try. We walked in sweaty, in hiking pants, tee-shirts, and super weird-looking wide brim hats. The waiter seated us at a 2-top in the middle and then the chef came out and personally asked if we would prefer a 4-top on the side since there weren't many people in the restaurant and it would be more comfortable for us. Wow! I don't think I've ever been that impressed that early by such kind service. And, for the record, that was before I checked in on Yelp... ;) Throughout the meal the service was attentive, friendly, and authentic. We loved our waitress, and all of the staff that we interacted with. An amusing aside: half-way through, a group came in and sat down for lunch (after the lunch rush, around 2pm). They were wearing shirts that indicated they worked at a restaurant nearby. You know it's a good sign when people who work at restaurants come to Odeum as a special group treat! I was really, really impressed. Well done, Odeum! I look forward to coming back to this place again in the (near) future. If you're within 60 miles of this place, I highly recommend you plan to eat a meal here. read more

Went here for dinner, apparently they just finished their renovation which means the interior has a whole lot of red. But okay i'm here for the food. For our dinner, we had beet salad, the octopus, swordfish and salmon for entrees. 1. Beet salad is 8 thinly shaved beet slices with stuff sprinkled on top, my date liked it, I let him have all of it because I can surely make this in my own kitchen. 2. Octopus is slow braised for hours so it's nice and tender and flavorful, might be my favorite of the night. 3. Swordfish came out with a nice sear but it's overcooked so it's a little dry the sauce's great though. 4. Salmon was cooked medium and flavor was good, i enjoyed it but nothing I'm like WOW this is to die for. The service that fellow yelpers seem to rave about, I dont see it. Yes the staff was pleasant, but our server was being a butterfly dashing from table to table, he'd come by say a few words about what we're eating and before we could even reply he's already at the next table doing his thing. If he thinks this one-sided conversation is making us feel welcomed.. no. read more

Food was terrible. $34 for a salami pizza! Plus the crust tasted like cardboard. Plus the appetizers were super greasy. Last, the whipped cream on our dessert was rancid! Finally, the service, at best, was mediocre. read more

Finally, a restaurant equal to French Laundry in quality and pairing. Been there twice, superior fresh quality, consistent friendly service warm and welcoming atmosphere. We tried the Grass fed NY strip steak, scampi pizza, mussaka, spaghetti pancetta, and salmon salad- none disappointed, all scrumptilitious! If you are a quality food hound(QFH) this place is a gastronomic treat! Yes, run an extra lap (or two) because their dessert selection is equally great. This restaurant will be the new standard for our quaint city to live up to. Chef Salvatore clearly knows food and pairings, what a great adventure! Thanks for enriching our community! read more

Disclosure: this is a high end fine dining establishment. Expect to pay mid to high $20s on many entrees and up to the $30 range on some. It is worth it knowing that u are receiving an amazing gastronomic experience. If you're looking for cheap eats..I suggest go somewhere else. Father's Day madness..I'm sure every restaurant in MH were busy for dinner. We got lucky by snagging a table for 3 without reservations thanks to a no show. Being first timers we didn't have too high of an expectation. Let's just say we walked away impressed and satisfied. Let's start with the restaurant's appearance, like what most people said..it's rustic. Located away from the main downtown street in a nicely renovated granary by the rail road tracks. Off the beaten path as many describes it. There's no abundance of parking but street parking is readily available (it's located among residential homes). As we walked to the restaurant there were rows of matured fruit trees in full bloom. Walking up the outside patio into the main door we were awed by the small interior space but nicely decorated seating room. It seemed tight but there's plenty enough tables and it appeared they have an extra room towards the back for big groups. Jakob, our server did an awesome job describing each entree that he recommended. He gave us an excellent service. Except for forgetting to deliver the hubby's beer he was very attentive while the other servers kept our glasses filled with ice water. The food: My DH ordered the Moussaka, a combo of baked eggplant, potatoes, ground lamb, topped with crispy Parmesan cheese..he devoured it! I ordered the Kotopolo some lemony tasting risotto accompanied with perfectly cooked veggies topped with crispy chicken..it was delish! The risotto was cooked to perfection with the creamy lemony sauce. For our 7 y/o she chose the Funghi pizza..brick oven cooked pizza topped with mushrooms and truffle oil..mom and dad had to take a "mommy and daddy tax"..we all liked it. To end the night Jakob recommended the...ready for this...Galaktoboureko..yup, that's what I said! Lol. It's a phyllo dough wrapped semolina flour mix with cinnamon ice cream and whip cream on the side. It was presented so beautifully and was gone in a few minutes. The bill came to a little over $90 (we ordered a beer, no sodas). It is pricey, no doubt about it but if the quality of food and service remains consistently good..I will pay that amount again. There's not a lot of restaurants in MH in the same caliber. Ladera Grill and Fuzia and maybe the new French restaurant could be a close competitor but Odeum is definitely a gem in MH. I hope they continue to better themselves to stay on top of the game. MH is fortunate to have Odeum in town. read more

Reservations for dinner required. Restaurant is located in a residential street, but there is a parking lot with plenty of parking. White table clothes, seats uncomfortable, space a little tight between each table... If you have a baby, I would not suggest to bring a stroller here.. I'm glad I didn't bring my baby here. Food, it's very good! Can't go wrong with your order... Gnocchi is exceptional and so is the chicken & waffles. One big con, ordered $300 worth of food & was asked to leave after 2 hours so the party after us could be seated... I thought that was rude because it takes time to eat appetizers, 1st, 2nd, & desserts. I drove all the way from San Jose to try it for date night with hubby... Disappointing customer service to a fabulous dinner. read more
