0 stars! Would not recommend this place solely based on the appalling customer service I received prior to our reservation. I had made a lunch reservation for 8/16 at 2:30pm for a party of 9 to celebrate a 70th bday. We had family coming from SF. Reservation was made 5 days prior on OpenTable. At 11:30am DAY OF the reservation, someone called me from the restaurant to tell me that their kitchen closes at 2:30pm. I asked what this meant for my reservation and all I kept being told was their kitchen closes at 2:30pm. I finally asked if this meant we couldn't get food and finally I was told yes. If we came in at 2:30pm, we couldn't eat. I asked the lady how I was able to make a reservation at that time (as well as the fact that there were reservations available up until 3pm) if their kitchen closes at 2:30pm. All she could respond with was "I don't know". I explained that this reservation was made 5 days prior and asked why had no one contacted me before to lmk (restaurants usually confirm bookings a day before). "I don't know". The lady had no answers for anything nor was offering any solutions. She finally asked if we could come in at 2pm. I explained we specifically booked for 2:30pm because my son was in a soccer tournament until 2:10pm, that was just down the road. And besides, how would that help when earlier she had told me that the kitchen staff leaves at 2:30pm. We would have had to order apps, mains and dessert and received all before 2:30pm? I asked to speak to a manager and was told there wasn't one. Asked when they would be in "I don't know". Asked for the lady to hold so I could discuss with my husband (where were we going to find a last minute reservation for a party of 9), and instead I got disconnected. No one even bothered to call back, and no one picked up when I tried calling back. Clearly they don't care that it was for a special celebration and where did they expect us to go last minute. No care for the customer whatsoever. And clearly they don't want or need the business, based on this experience. Totally unacceptable. And whoever called me to inform me about the kitchen closing at 2:30pm needs to learn how to speak with a customer and go on a customer service course. The menu looks great, but shame that myself nor my family will ever try to come here again. read more

I have been here only a few times! Some dishes are quite good. Unfortunately almost everything seems overpriced. Especially considering how small the portions are. read more

Expensive and apparently they like to serve their customers cheap fish and not what's on the menu. They were sued and lost.

Special special shot out to our server for the night Anthony!! You didn't fail on any of the recommendations we enjoyed every bite even though we were unable to finish ;)) we appreciated your patience with all of our questions and modifications! Thank again. Op let me not forget the bartender that made us our delicious blueberry lemon drops kudos!!!! read more

Amazing! Very seldom do you find a place where everyone orders something different and every dish is exceptional. I ordered the gnocchi and paired it with some of their crack bread. All I can say is WOW! So, so good. I cannot wait to go back! read more

Our server made everything worse. He couldn't remember things. He forgot and messed up things. He was like a pushy sales person who made us over order and then forced us to pay 20% gratuity when his service was not even worth a penny. I have had food at odeum many times and usually I have tipped based on the service I have gotten and normally it would be 25% but here I didn't want to give him even 5% and he said it's mandatory and not a choice and we have to pay 20%. When we booked the table or at the beginning they didn't mention anything about mandatory 20% gratuity. And honestly I am not the person who argues over tipping. But for a classy restaurant to give horrible service when they are not even busy and then to insult us and force us in 20% tip, awful. The server kept disappearing in the middle of taking order and put our order on some other table and then he thought it would be funny to tell us how he messed up. And we laughed but then he kept messing up and forgetting things. And then it wasn't even funny how bad his service was. I mean for a good restaurant to have such a bad server who can't even handle 2 tables. Wow! I don't know what to say. If you respect your guests and don't treat them bad, they will happily tip you and you won't have to force us to tip you. Up your game guys, this nonsense will bring you down! read more

The food was great! Family friendly! We were here due to a recommendation by a friend! But it was just as good as they said! We did the Sunday brunch! Must say you should come on a Sunday just to try that! I have the pizza and it was amazing! Loved everything. We took our daughter and even she had a good time. Also order from the dessert menu and bottomless mimosas! You'll regret not doing it! read more

Yasssss! YASSSSSS! Always wanted to try this place and finally did! The food here was amazing and the service was superb! We were seated right away and drinks to follow. We had the pizza, which was delicious and the perfect wood flame crust was addicting. Ok you want to talk about addicting, the crack bread was out of this world! Must order! The stuffed mushroom risotto was so creamy and flavorful. The beet salad was healthy and refreshing. The only dish that I would skip would be the lamb chops, dry and uneven cuts, not worth $23. But everything else was super tasty and wonderful!!! read more

This used to be our go to spot for any meal when we came to Morgan Hill. Unfortunately the service has not been consistent, nor has the food each time we've dined here. Many times we've had to call upon other servers or workers to refill our drinks, bring us drinks entirely or ask for items (napkins, utensils, check, etc). It's really hit or miss with the service. And even when it's a hit, it's simply subpar. I feel that the staff's demeanor really changed once they updated the tipping to a tip pool policy. Perhaps that's just been my experience, but Odeum is no longer my number one choice for meals when visiting Morgan Hill. read more

This restaurant is pretty wonderful. I've been here 3-4 times already with groups of friends and each experience has been pleasant. The Crack Bread I really think is sprinkled with something "special" because it's fantastic. Dangerously good. Chicken & Waffles are a staple. I tried something different on our last visit and got the salmon. I really didn't care for it at all. It was too charred for me and a little dry. I was disappointed because I generally love everything I eat from here! My friend said her sea bass was great though. The service was just OK on this visit. We had to ask for the specials and got a pretty mundane response. They asked if we wanted the appetizer or dinner specials. It would have been nice to know if there were appetizer specials because we already ate our appetizers and we're ready to move onto dinner. Anyway, several of us got the smoked Manhattan. I first had a regular Manhattan but ended up preferring the smoked. Plus, it had pretty cool presentation. We sat outside RIGHT NEXT to the speaker and the music was way too loud. I usually don't mind music at all but this made it soooo hard to hear someone across the table from me. Parking is challenging in the evenings and especially the weekend. It's pretty hidden from the street but the ambiance is nice once you get in! read more

Enjoyed the meal, but it wasn't quite as good as my previous two experiences. It was way too loud, and the main contributing factor was that the music was turned up too loud, so everyone had to talk more loudly. Service was spotty. Three times I had to pull our waiter away from a waitstaff gossip at the other end of the room. I ordered the mezcal cocktail, Sol de Brasil. The base flavor was great, but there was hardly any Mezcal taste. I had to order a shot of the same Mezcal on the side, and that $16 shot divided between 2 cocktails made the cocktail what it should have been all along. (I order Mezcal cocktails a lot, and this is what was necessary to bring the drink up to the level of the ones I've had everywhere else. It wasn't like the first one was made wrong either. The second one was equally weak.) Tyrokafteri was as good as I remember it, but it really makes no sense that they give you so much pita and so little spread. And they have to have heard that a hundred times before. Grilled Prawns, Salmon and Moussaka were all good, but not great. Crack Bread was excellent. The Dungeness Crab Salad was amazing. So were both our desserts: Panna Cotta and Double Chocolate Cake. I do love their policy of sharing tips among all the staff. read more

Made a reservation for five, and in the comment section I made a request for outside seating. The waiter walked us inside where it was SO CROWDED, stuffy and hot. Couldn't even hang my jacket on the chair because the other chairs were butted up against each other. They Told us there wasn't any table to sit outside but we saw there was a couple of tables open. Asked to speak to the manager (who was actually getting dishes off the table) he said he will be back and never came back. So we ended up walking out and went to a different restaurant. read more

We used to love this place for the gourmet cuisine at good value. Now the sharply increased pricing ($65 NY steak, $35 Gnocchi, $18 drinks) rivals upscale restaurants in Santana Row or Palo Alto. No longer makes sense for Morgan Hill. Unfortunately, we won't be going back... read more

I would give 5/5 but they only do brunch on Sunday's! Great food atmosphere is great too! My wife and I had the salmon panini and I had the chicken parm. The salmon panini was out of this world HIGHLY recommend it! The chicken parm was very good too I would also recommend. On Sundays I would recommend the breakfast pizza it's the best thing ever. read more

This used to be one of our favorite places to eat over the years. The last 3 times we have been disappointed with the service and especially the food. Our last visit we tried the schnitzel and the steak and it was bland and not up to our standards. We were sat in the back area and noticed as we sat down everyone was wearing their jackets. Wesson found out it was because it was freezing cold. I had to ask the waitress 3 times to correct the problem and by the time they finally closed the kitchen door and turned on the heat we had finished our meal. Unfortunately we will not be returning which is a shame as we loved coming here over the years. We don't mind the high prices of dining out now but you must perform at the highest standards to change the highest prices. read more

This is a must see and go eat place especially for the great food quality, wine and service. The Chilean Sea Bass was so delicious and so were the Stuffed Prawns. One downside was the table we were dining on was a bit unsteady and sticky for some reason. read more

Great spot for a more refined lunch near downtown Morgan Hill. Large outdoor seating area (but not sure about how well they are adhering to the greater than 6 ft apart spacing guideline). Everything was very fresh, good attention to detail (e.g. Fried herb garnish on the Herbed French Fries), perfectly seasoned and tasty. Complimentary toasted focaccia with olives and olive oil were presented shortly after we were seated. We ordered: * Mapakia (Shaved Brussels Salad) - Really good, fresh, light flavors. Personally, I would have liked a bit more pear in the salad, as I think it needed a bit more sweetness to balance the lemony dressing and slight bitterness of the Brussels. * Odeum Gyro - Solid lunch option. Fries were ordered on the side instead of stuffed in the gyro (thanks to our server Maria for letting us know we had this option!) Gyro meat blend was tasty. Arugula salad was good. Fries were nice and hot. * Chicken Souvlaki Entree - with extra grilled veggie instead of fries. Chicken was most and tender (but I wish there were 2 skewers instead of just 1). Grilled veggies were really good. Eggplant, zucchini, red pepper, Asparagus...all perfectly grilled and tasty. Complimented with some yummy tzatziki. read more

We love Odeum; it never disappoints! The food is always delicious, the cocktails are great and the service is excellent! We like to eat outside in the warm weather and recently we ate indoors because of the weather and it was great too! We will be going again! read more

If there is ONE thing you take from this review, please - if your diet and allergies permit - order the sea bass and the crack bread. We recently went here for a dinner and thought those two items were among the best at the table! Others ordered pizzas and a pasta dish, and both were tasty but the fish and bread were unreal! In terms of drinks. Odeum offers a fully stocked bar so you can order your own beverages but their wine and cocktail lists are both fun and expansive. As a new resident in Morgan Hill, I am so excited to revisit this restaurant and would absolutely recommend visiting if you're in the neighborhood! read more

We sat at the bar and watched the cooks at the pizza oven. My Margarita pizza and Mediterranean were tasty but after watching the stuffed mushrooms and the homemade pita bread with four dipping sauces being prepared I wished I'd ordered them instead. I guess I'll have to go back. read more

This is my absolutely favourite restaurant in Morgan hill. Service is excellent. There outdoor sitting is good and the best thing about odeum is obviously the food. The last time I went they got rid of steak tartare from their menu, please bring that back. Their appetizers are to die for. And deserts are awesome too. And their pizza. I can never go there and order only a couple of items. So I prefer going their with friends who let me order for everyone and we share because I literally order everything lol!! read more

What can I say... this is the perfect date night restaurant in Morgan Hill! Yes it is a more expensive restaurant but everything is worth the $. Crack bread 10/10. Roasted lemon potatoes 10/10 The salmon seafood soup was out of this world. Will be back again to try the rest of the menu read more

Over the years I had gone here several times and I was always the person who ordered something less thank great. My beau being the amazing guy he is would always offer to trade because his meal was good. We started grackles recently and either they've upped their game or I'm getting lucky! We've gone twice in the last few months and ordered a pizza and salads. I live their thin crust and the pizza oven is mesmerizing to watch :-) they had a special salad for fall with candied bacon that is sadly not in the menu but their shredded Brussels sprout salad is delightful lemony crunchy and salty. You can't tell you're eating raw Brussel sprouts. We've also had a few entrees that have been very good. I had a salmon on a bed of spiralized zucchini and a spicy tomato sauce while my honey had the shank. All very good. They have an extensive wine list, short beer list and a nice cocktail menu. read more

My family and I went for the new year's celebration, we are so disappointed. We had to wait outside in the cold because they were 45 minutes behind, the deck was slippery and few guess almost felt. Food was just okay it was supposed to be a five course prefix menu, but it was only four course and if you wanted lobster you had the pay extra.poor service the chef was more concerned about his friends and family than the customers. The band played loud rock music. The waitress's ass was in my face the entire night because there was no space. I have recommended this restaurant so many times and they had poor service. I will not recommend this restaurant ever again. my daughter pointed out how they constantly have new staff and it only gets worst. read more

Food, excellent! Server (Jesus), phenomenal! However, the prejudice outweighs all. If you look Under 50yrs of age, if you are not dressed like you drive a Mercedes, or if you don't look like a instagram model, you will be seated after all those who are. It doesn't matter if you have a reservation or not, the above will hold true. Just an FYI: I look like I'm in my 30's. I've been there multiple times and the one time I went straight after work and had on a suit, my reservation time was upheld AND I was seated inside in the middle of the restaurant. The times I wasn't dressed to the nines, I was seated 30 minutes to an hour after the reservation, people who were dressed nicer than my party and me were seated before us even if they didn't have a reservation, or were given seating inside and my party was put outside. I will not be going back to this restaurant nor will I be referring it to anyone every again. read more

This was our first time eating at Odeum (Sat. 10/1) and unfortunately, it was not a great experience. We didn't get seated at our reservation time, even though there was a 4 top there that was empty. I bit down into a piece of broken porcelain in my Brussels sprouts salad which they took back and remade, however, I asked for no bacon originally and they put it in the 2nd batch which was then sent back again. Server said he would just give me another espresso martini for the salad mishap but it was charged on our bill along with a $78 bottle of wine that we never ordered. We didn't catch that when the bill was presented to us but we called the restaurant last night and emailed and haven't heard back from them. I also called the restaurant prior to us arriving as we were there to celebrate our friend's birthday. I asked the hostess to let our server know we were celebrating a birthday and she said the restaurant sang and did a special dessert - that never happened. I heard nothing but great things about the restaurant but it was and disappointed last night. read more

So disappointed. I made a reservation over 3 weeks in advance knowing it would probably be busy tonight. I the reservation was immediately confirmed and I also called earlier today making sure it was confirmed. We arrive to check in and I tell the hostess about our reservation and she says "We're busy right now, you're going to have to wait." Mind you, this is at 7:27pm for our 7:30pm reservation. I said our reservation was for 7:30 and she said "Yeah well it's a Friday and we're really busy you have to wait." I asked how long and she said "At least a half hour." I was disappointed she wasn't at all remorseful and acted as though I were silly for assuming our reservation meant we'd be sat upon arrival. She also made snarky comments about my party to her coworker as we left to wait. I was so excited to try the food but we ended up going to Ladera where we were seated immediately and had great service. Will not be returning. read more

Walked in on a Saturday at 5, right when they opened, to see if they could seat 2. She was able to seat us before a two top reservation at 7 - yay. From that interaction until we were fully seated, all the waiters STARED at my boyfriend and I. He seems to think it was just at me, but either way it was WEIRD. It came off disrespectful as I felt they were judging us. Not only that, but they're working, they should've smiled and made us feel welcomed. They instantly gave off a huge stuck up vibe. They were all talking to each other for about 10 mins until Chris came over to serve us. FYI - the main area is small so we could hear what they were talking about and how they were talking. After just that I was severely turned off to this place. The food was okay, I really liked the roasted cauliflower. Service I'm sure is great for couples, large groups + obviously wealthy people, but it was disappointing for us. Please teach the staff to appreciate ALL customers and be more professional. read more
