Had a great dinner tonight. Plus great service from our waiter Gerry. We started with the calamari. We both had the salad special which was a different spin on the wedge salad & delicious. My husband got the miso cod which was absolute perfection. I had the pasta dish, wish I could remember the name but it was like rigatoni with homemade sauce & an amazing meatball. The portions were very good, definitely brought home left overs. For dessert we got the butter cake & chocolate cake. I would have given it 5 stars but there was a little issue I won't mention here. Gave the owner a heads up on the way out & he was nice about it. We will definitely be going back for more special occasions. read more

I don't know why we've never been here but, wow was it good! Everyone was so kind. I just loved our waiter, he was so full of life and made us smile. The food was some of the best we've had in a long time. Hubby had the ahi and I had the skirt steak, then we finished with the butter cake which was amazing!!! Can't wait to come back. read more

Probably the worst service ever. Food was eh which has not been my experience in the past, we had three of the pizzas for the group that came out warm, among a couple other items. We were served water that was warm and white stuff floating around in it when he poured it (no lemon in the water that would explain the floaters), took several times asking for ice to finally get it, tried asking for red pepper and kept getting different versions of black pepper (they didn't bring the spicy oil, red pepper and Parmesan cheese with the pizzas), plates we asked to be taken away weren't, but the server kept asking if there were dirty plates to be taken away and never got the ones we needed gone, we brought a cheesecake to celebrate a birthday which was not kept refrigerated and they came out to let us know they would be charging $5 per plate when they bring it out (thanks for ruining the surprise) and didn't bring out the birthday dessert that was requested. Oh and the floating stuff in the water? Said didn't know what it was, water pitcher was just filled and took several minutes to get the server to understand we would not be drinking it and needed other glasses...felt like we were getting pranked the entire time. read more

Odeum has a late night happy hour on the weekends now. It was fantastic to have such a wonderful evening option in downtown Morgan Hill. The bartender is amazing and everyone was welcoming and kind. Our wedding anniversary was today and after a busy weekend with kids' sports, we decided to go out to dinner tonight to celebrate. We made a 6:30 reservation. We were greeted as we entered and seated quickly. The hostess gave us a choice of table, we chose one towards the back. Our server Jerry, greeted us shortly after. The restaurant wasn't crowded, very few tables were seated when we arrived. It was quiet and nice. We had a great dining experience. Jerry told us about the specials. We opted to try two of them, Polenta fries with tzatziki, feta and gyro meat. Not a large plate, perfect small plate appetizer to share. They were delicious. We also had the tomato bisque soup, it was topped with bacon crumbles and a crostini. Very flavorful, we enjoyed it. We ordered the Mediterranean salad as well. Basic Greek salad but very good flavor and chopped perfectly. For dinner I ordered the skirt steak, it was SO good. Cooked perfectly, amazing flavor in the Demi glaze. My husband had the New York steak, also very good. Between the two, I would say the skirt steak was better. For dessert, we ordered the Greek yogurt. It is my favorite so I can never pass it up. It was done well. Fruit, yogurt and honey and had a caramelized pineapple slice which was new to a Greek yogurt dish for me. Overall, we had a very nice dinner for a quick celebration on a Monday. Jerry was delightful and took great care of us. It's not our first time at Odeum, and also won't be the last. read more

This is the kind of restaurant that I want to rave about to all of my friends and family! Every single dish was crafted with utmost attention to detail and every bite I took was a flavor bomb. After we decided on dishes our server recommended the order in which to try the entrées and it made all the difference. We tried Funghi Ripieni, char grilled Octopus, Skirt Steak, and the Baked Brie. The funghi appetizer came topped with cheesy risotto that had a nice crunchy top layer and dipping it into the garlic crema was delicious. The Octopus was expertly grilled to perfection and came with a side of spicy white beans sautéed with escarole. The Skirt Steak came with two different cuts of meat each bite better than the last due to the seasoning and grilled flavor. The mashed potatoes that came with the steak was savory and buttery soft. And finally, the Baked Brie was saved for last because it had sweet notes from the caramelized toast, swirls of honey, and the most unique rose petal, pear, and cranberry compotes. We had the pleasure of meeting several of their staff, the host was really sweet, the first server was enthusiastic about telling us more about the menu since it was our first time, and our second server was so courteous and professional. I adored this restaurant and the ambience of the front entrance / dining patio was a very beautiful & intimate setting. read more

Oh, Odeum! I definitely have a love and hate relationship with this place! My first trip to Odeum was back in February 2021. Friends raved about this place, particularly their chicken & waffles. My wife and I were so excited to finally get to try it out on our day off, which was a Friday. We placed the first reservation of the day, and we were the first ones there. Our server was AMAZING, personable and made great recommendations. For our first visit, we tried the polipo (amazing!), chicken & waffles (fantastic!), and order of the tzatziki (refreshing!). Our expectations were definitely met and than some! Our second visit wasn't the best. Service was mediocre and our server could've been more attentive. The food was good, so I guess that was appreciated. However, I ordered chicken & waffles to go and specifically asked to have all the sauces on the side. When my to-go order came, it was drenched in gravy and syrup. The server was apologetic enough. Still, the service was definitely lacking. Even my friend who recommended Odeum to us agreed that the service was lackluster. So fast forward 3 months later, this was our 3rd visit. We got seated on time, great! Our server was decent. Food was good. My only qualm was the size of the piece of chicken I received with my order of chicken & waffles. See attached pictures. The server was nice enough to put the gravy and syrup on the side, which is why it looks different from the comparison picture. However, it's clear that they have skimped on their chicken. When I asked the server if they changed their menu a bit and asked why the chicken was so small, he shared that it was brunch size. Nice try buddy! We've always gone to Odeum during brunch and neither times has the portion been THAT small. All I got was, "I'll be sure to share your feedback with the chef." Were they running low on chicken and skimping to make sure they have enough? Seriously! Quite ridiculous to pay for a small piece of chicken and 2 small halves of a waffle (which shrunk from what I remember) for $19. I get inflation, but to mini-size the portions, too! That's just robbery. This experience truly makes me question whether or not I'll return. read more

We drove almost an hour just to go try this place . We live in Oakland and some one told my wife about this place and she asked to go and give a try . SERVICE WAS AWFUL. We arrive before 9 pm on a Saturday night. I asked our server Tyler about the lamb chop shoulder and he didn't know what to say. He only said "it's good" ( you should know your menu ) At the moment I already knew what type of service we were going to get. ( BAD SERVICE) The food was really good. We really enjoy our food. Alright. Time for dessert. Dessert was one of main reasons we came to this place. Guess what. Nope. Our server Tyler told us that the kitchen was already close and can't have dessert lol. I work in the industry and I never heard such a thing. Specially in a Michelin star restaurant. That change our mood and our experience to one of the worst we ever had. On top of that Tyler included a 20% service charge that he did not earn. read more

Came here for dinner tonight and it wasn't what it used to be. This is usually a place we come to to splurge on a fancy dinner. The food wasn't as great as it normally is and our table was surrounded by these black flying bugs. It was causing me quite a bit of anxiety and I kept smacking them dead on our table. It was pretty disturbing and I had a hard time concentrating on the dinner. It's upsetting because it is on the more expensive side and for there to be that many bugs flying around the food isn't good. read more

Valentine's Day :( Yes, probably the busiest day for any decent restaurant, I get it. My girlfriend is a waitress and I grew up in a family restaurant. Awful- Probably the worst dining experience and most expensive I've ever had. Totally ruined our special night. My gf spent 2 hours getting ready for this and we dressed up. Reservations for 9pm, we get there on time and waited for a half hour. Last to be seated even though many other people came in after us. Table was squeezed in and staff constantly zooming past us and loud! We moved to the outside where it was not as chaotic. At 9:40 we are presented with a "tasting menu". I've been to a Michelin star restaurant tasting menu and this was not one. This was a LAZY "wedding" menu designed to feed hundreds with no fuss. No option to order from the regular menu. Open table app never said this and we thought, "too late to DoorDash at home, everything is closed." $125 per person, no wine included plus a mandatory 20% tip/service fee. Had a couple drinks for a Total of $395! But that wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fact that the food was basic; mediocre and burned our steaks. Course 1 - A meatball in marinara sauce, tepid and ridiculous. Course 2 was a salad (nothing remarkable) or a pasta in meat sauce. Plain. Course 3 - At almost 10:45 we get our "filet Mignon". I asked for medium, it was well done with a charcoal crust. My gf's filet was a charcoal briquette. Yes, she asked for well done, not burnt. Also, they were under-sized- no way they were 8oz, maybe 4! At 11:00 pm I sent back the steaks and asked to remake and take them home. Night ruined, wallet drained. I asked for the GM and told him what happened, did nothing. I vow to tell everyone about this money-grab. Chef Calisi should be ashamed. Plating bad, course 1 &2 mediocre, service slow. filet Mignon burned - see pic. Created a "wedding" menu and have the audacity to call it a tasting menu and charge people $400. For an extra $45 per person, they had a wine flight for each course. I didn't get that because I wasn't sure what's the best wine to pair with a meatball.. read more

Food here is absolutely amazing. Worthy of its Michelin Star!! Service was a bit slow early on. It picked up midway through our meal. The food did not all come out at the same time unfortunately so a few people had to wait 20 minutes before they received their food. Drinks here were standard. The food was really the highlight. Of what our table ordered, the salmon was the best dish, followed by the sea bass and Korean short ribs, and then the gnocchi. The gnocchi was delicious but not revolutionary. They claim to have a wheelchair access point but in order to use it, you have to go through their kitchen through very narrow hallways that it defeats the point for anyone in an actual wheelchair (Not to mention all the stares you get from going into the kitchen when you're leaving). read more

Wish I could give zero stars. Many things went wrong during our experience today. Went with our family for Mother's Day. Our reservation was at 1:00 and we didn't get seated until 1:30/ 1:45. We had two toddlers in our party and the restaurant was out of high chairs and booster seats. A couple from another table gave us their high chair since our daughter was a lot younger than their child. The high chair had broken safety straps so I asked the manager if we could get a different one and he stated that all of the high chairs had broken safety straps. This is extremely dangerous and unacceptable for such a "nice" restaurant. Then when it came to ordering we were told since our party was so large we had a pre fixed menu and only had 4 options to choose from after we had been emailed the full menu from the owner saying we could order off the regular menu. We told the manager we did not want to eat those items and come to find out our pre fixed menu items had already been cooked and was ready to be served!!! Needless to say we finished our drinks and left without dining. We have been loyal customers for 5-10 years and will never come back. read more

This review is strictly based upon the cost and value of the food and service we received. I will start with the service. Our waiter was nice but for the price of the restaurant, there was nothing spectacular about the service. Again, he was nice, but nothing about the service he provided stood out. My wife ordered the chicken parmesan, my son ordered a cheese pizza and I ordered a normal salad with chicken as an added protein. We all drank water. No alcoholic drinks were ordered during our meal. When we finally got the check, my stomach almost dropped. $132 for those 3 items, none of which blew our minds in terms of quality and taste. I am all for eating at a restaurant, but I have an expectation that I better get what I am paying for when it comes to service and food. The other issue I had was that my salad was listed as an $18 or so salad. The menu was a bit confusing so it was hard to decipher what the cost of each protein was going to be but I assumed the chicken protein wouldn't be that much. It turns out I ordered a $30+ salad! Again, nothing spectacular and to make things worse, the added chicken protein cost almost as much as the salad itself. Needless to say, I told my wife that we won't be going back for a regular dinner meal. Maybe we go back for a happy hour special, but I cannot justify spending $130 for 3 entrees and no alcoholic drinks. Sorry Odeum, but you get a 2 out of 5 stars. read more

Great place in Morgan Hill to get some good eats and drinks. Had dinner on the patio but they had heaters for every table. Got the stuffed mushrooms and they were delicious. For the main entree, got the steak. It was also good but the last steak I had was in Vegas and it just not on that level. Paired it with the Justin Cab from Paso Robles and it was a perfect combo. Also had the Man in the Mirror cocktail which was perfect. The service and ambiance was fabulous here. Great place for the weekend.. read more

Came here for a girl's night and honestly had high expectations, albeit the service was def. an issue that night we gave them the benefit of the doubt since it was super busy and first time they opened for outdoor dining during COVID. Regardless I think food still also fell a little short for me and just landed it where it's at - I would def. come back and give it another shot since some friends have told me otherwise. The outdoor seating area was nice and intimate + heating lamps so it's not too chilly - my girls/I sat on the patio area so we avoided the dirt path area which is not a big deal - but I think not really ideal as well. Menu has a wide variety of starters and entrée + great cocktail list as well. Reservations can be made online (which we had) so seating was quick and efficient. Now service was a little bit of a mess that night, our waiter was very slow to take our order and then after he kind of just became a ghost. We legit had to ask whoever walked by for extra napkins, where our drinks were, etc. Food also took a while to come out and when it did, it was all entrees first - we didn't even receive any of the appetizers yet...which eventually came out half way into eating our entrees. Getting a 2nd round of drinks took another 20 minutes wait, and then when it finally came to getting the bill it was just an ordeal all on its own and I stopped counting the time. I'm guessing it was an off day, but it was prob. one of the slowest service I've had in a while. Food talk: (1) Margherita Pizza - my least fave, really bland and kind of tasted like a frozen cheese pizza. There were no dollops of sauce or fresh cheese and or basil? Unusual for a Margherita, no? (2) Brussel Sprouts - this was OK, nicely seasoned and great toppings but just came to us cold & the brussels were pretty much soggy. (3) Baked Cheese - this was tasty, the bread had a nice toast to it while the fruit compote and honey with the cheese was the perfect blend of savory, creamy, and sweet. (4) Baked Paccheri Pasta - this was also really good, rich and creamy sauce with great flavor while the pasta and chicken was cooked perfectly! (5) Pork Schnitzel - def. larger than I expected but also pretty good, very tender and flavorful + lemony buttery sauce & cheese to top it off. Good for sharing but a little too heavy for one. (6) Margarita cocktail - perfectly refreshing and boozy, def. a tasty well crafted drink. read more

I had this Resturant in my list for a while, till finally I managed to visit last night. We didn't make a reservation, so was told that there is no table for the two of us, but offered a seat on the bar, which we accepted. The whole Resturant is tight and crowded. Not much space between any two things. I failed to understand the cuisine, too many entrees made with pork, compared to similar Resturant. Our server was nice, compared to the one who almost turned us away for daring to come without a reservation. We got the cowboy steak, was not asked how we wanted cooked, so I appreciate that I remembered to Followup, as I don't like medium rare. It is a pricey Resturant for sure, while I appreciated seeing how the food is cooked, there is nothing special for me to come back to. Even the yogurt dessert in the picture. read more

Not exactly what we wanted (they only serve their brunch menu on Sundays), but we had a decent meal with super large portions and the service was very good. My son got the margarita cheese-only pizza which turned out to be really great. He couldn't eat the whole thing it was so big and we all had a slice and agreed we would love to eat that pizza over and over again. The hummus appetizer seemed out of proportion with a tiny little scoop of hummus and two full pitas. Tasted good, but kind of didn't work as an appetizer if you were super into hummus. Also, the special lentil and sausage soup was a bit bland. Chicken Parmesan was a stand out and so huge we basically took a full order (half of two orders) to go. Overall good place and a step above our expectation and your average line cook restaurant. Wish they were serving brunch on Saturday, but made the best of it. read more

Bartenders were very attentive, friendly and made wonderful recommendations of drinks to go with my dessert. I decided on their ice wine, first time I'd heard of it. It's delicious! I chose this rich butter cake, shoot I forgot the exact name but it was pure DECADANCE. Eat bite, I had myself a little moment lol. Not being very familiar with the area, my girlfriend recommended Odeum as a good location to link up, chit chat, & stuff our faces with food. Being the big girl that I am, with an even BIGGER appetite, I happily agreed. I was quickly in awe of the beautifully decorated patio and I couldn't get over the cute factor [ranging from the lamps placed along the steps to the birdcage chandeliers]. My guy and I arrived first and were immediately greeted. I believe our server for the night was Jerry- attentive, very personable, kind, & friendly. Customer service truly doesn't get any better than him|that!! Our spread for the night consisted of: -Açaí Sling Cocktail -Margaritas -Pita Bread -Calamari [served with fresh grated parmesan & chili infused vinaigrette] -Brussel Sprouts- [wood fire oven roasted with bacon] -Funghi Ripieni [stuffed mushrooms with risotto] -Sautéed Mushrooms -Skirt Steak [cooked medium|rare on a bed of dijon potato purée] -Lamb Chop [served with crispy polenta cake & garlic sautéed spinach] -Branzino [grilled sea bass with fennel & croquette] - Mille Feuille [layers and layers of fillo dough, toasted almonds, & custard??] Looking at that food list, I clearly did not come here to play!! Food was delicious- seasoned well, good sized portions, & beautifully plated. Drinks were strong, Odeum doesn't mess around with the alcohol aspect but the ice factor was definitely excessive. Our beverages stayed cold but consisted primarily of ice cubes- meh. Mille Feuille was tasty- not overtly sweet and the many layers of fillo gave such a pleasant texture. I couldn't have hoped for a better night, a greater restaurant to enjoy dinner, or a better server. Shout out to Jeff for being amazing from start to finish. Boy. It's been awhile since we last ate here but every dish was over the top. The hummus tasting platter blew our minds away. That's a must get. Each pasta dish was executed so perfectly. The noodles were cooked to perfection. The sauces were so flavorful and delicious. The salad was beautifully presented. The only terrible thing that happened was getting our dessert and tea. There was a miscommunication on what was available and we were told the ones we wanted to order were available but then not but then available. I knock off 1/2 star for that. The service was very goofy and not on top of it even though the service was very nice and friendly. Yelp can't let me give a 4.5 star rating, even though that's what this restaurant truly is as of my last visit. But I upgrade it to a 5 because yes you should come here and eat if you're debating. I can't wait until our next visit and I hope our experience pars up to the entrees and appetizers we ordered the first time around. We ate inside the first time but next time I want to try outside. The Brie was great but half of the bread was burned black. Moussaka main and the Trout were amazing while the Lamb chops were terrible - burned and dry. Skirt steak tasted like marinated mustard, no other taste to it. The panna cotta didn't have any flavor. Awesome cocktails. Food and service have slid downhill. I ordered the Saltimbocca which was a special. It was delivered cold. The potatoes were over cooked and hard. The vegetables on the bottom were soggy, the Prosciutto tasted like salty fried Bacon strips and over powered the Veal. I barely ate half the dish and quit. My Wife ordered a salad with dressing on the side. It was delivered with an excessive amount of dressing on the salad. The waitress after taking our order disappeared. The food delivery server could not identify what she was delivering and told us the veal disk was a Chicken Kabob bordered by another guest. This restaurant is a mess! Simply disappointing! On Mother's Day, we arrived early for lunch and placed our order from the incredibly over-priced pre-fixed menu at around 11:40. Our food arrived over an hour later and our entire order was cold and soggy, especially the chicken and waffles. My wife only had a few bites but decided not to make a fuss about it, as she simply wanted to enjoy the day without any hassle. My steak was cold and overcooked. In the meantime, another family was seated next to us. From the moment of their arrival, a middle-aged woman asked several servers to take our umbrella away to shade their table. I couldn't believe the nerve of that entitled woman to ask repeatedly for another table's umbrella. Shockingly, one of the servers grabbed our umbrella and actually began walking away with it! With a defeated and disappointed look, I told the server to just give us a few minutes so we can close out the tab and vacate our table. We even told the server about our cold food, and he nonchalantly acknowledged it. For a party of five, including two small children, the total amount was $279, not including the tip!! We wasted over $300 and wasted a day at a restaurant that is seemingly showing patterns of bad service and bad food quality. Shame! read more

Fine dining prices for small portions of very average food. The last time I ate here was prior to covid. It was overpriced then, but the food was much higher quality, which made their prices somewhat justifiable. They've since swapped staple menu items for less sophisticated dishes with smaller portions. It's a shame really, that the only remaining high end restaurant in south county has come to this. P.S.
