I have been to Odeens three times now and just getting to leaving a review. It's a great restaurant. Tonight I had their beat and goat cheese side salad for six dollars and there's smoked chicken wings and men where they both terrific. I've had their pulled pork sandwich and also very very good. Service is top-notch and you get to sit out back and eat outside amongst the golfers and sunset. Highly recommended read more

Poor food, slow service. Closed down at Spins Bowl last December. That says it all. The Ridgebury location wasn't much better. There are better BBQ locations but it'll take some perseverance to find them. read more

Food is quite good, IF you ever get any. Unimaginably atrocious service makes it impossible to enjoy what otherwise could be a great spot to eat. It looks like an understaffing problem combined with complete lack of managerial oversight, leaving one or two waitresses to run around like chickens with their heads cut off trying to wait on an entire patio full of tables. If you're willing to be obnoxious, try waving your hands like a lunatic to intercept the confused waitress as she darts from table to table unsure of who was there first. You might get service that way, but if you're a normal human being that gets the menu and then waits to order, you're gonna sit for an hour before anyone pays attention to you. No ribs, no calamari, no crisps, no turkey! Had a chicken salad sandwich which was just chicken...no walnuts, no craisins. Sandwich was not Texas toast and half was the heel of the bread. Disappointing. Chicken wings were very good. read more

This unassuming, hard to find little restaurant produces some of the freshest food, including soups, sandwiches, salads and of course some of the best barbecue around. The "burnt ends" (crispy pork belly bbq, cubed and served w coleslaw) were over the top delicious! The house salad was the freshest, made with lettuces and tomatoes that were likely picked just hours before. Gazpacho we deep red and velvety, with the perfect hint of dill and cucumber. Again, very fresh, locally grown ingredients. Shrimp and grits were nicely done but I'd prefer more brown gravy in mine. Grits were served with some fried pork belly. One of the best parts was the setting. It's on a public golf course, Ridgefield Golf Course, and the restaurant overlooks the beautiful course with the wooded hills North Salem, NY beyond. It is spectacular to eat out on the deck with the sun setting directly in front. It was a hot day when we dined there, but the fans and the breeze coming up from the hill made it bearable. One thing -- I would like to see more dinner entrees. The simple menu is mostly sandwiches, burgers, salads, soup and appetizers, suggesting it may be better for lunch, although you'd miss the sunset. Another option is to go for a couple glasses of wine, order an appetizer, enjoy the view then go out to dinner. read more

This spot has good food but needs to stay open until the posted hours. The first time I was here I ordered the brisket burnt ends and the wings, both very flavorful and good portion size for the price (especially with the current market situation). The wings were the standout in my opinion, with a lightly sweet and crispy fry to them. Unfortunately, I came a week later and placed an order for the same two items. The waiter took the order and came back a few minutes later to tell me that the kitchen was closed. It was around 7:45 when we ordered and everything I see says the kitchen is open until 8:00 pm or "sunset". Sunset was 8:26 tonight... I think this spot is a hidden gem but I wish they would be true to their posted hours. read more

This place isn't exactly a restaurant so don't expect that type of atmosphere. Service isn't so great, it's a very relaxed atmosphere so go with that in mind. But that's the only real negative if service is something you're really looking for. First of all the patio is really beautiful, gorgeous view. I recommend you bring a pair of sunglasses because I sat facing the sun and I think I got an eyeball tan... The menu is nice, decent drink selection, a couple of specials on the board that the waitress failed to point out and was too late when I spotted them. We ordered a variety of appetizers: the smoked wings, the sausage platter and the cauliflower burnt ends. The smoked wings were great, very crunchy with a generous side of blue cheese for dipping. They have no sauce on them but they're still pretty good. Our personal favorite was the sausage platter. The sausages were fantastic, well seasoned, tender and packed with flavor. The mustard dipping sauce was great. The cubed cheese was a nice addition as well. For entrees we had the pulled pork sandwich which was so delicious with bits of crunchy bacon. Boy was this sandwich so crunchy and porkfect (ah dad jokes). The fried chicken platter, more perfectly fried chicken, can't go wrong. And I had the burnt ends which were cubed with delicious sauce. My daughter had the Mac & cheese which I shared with her. The sauce was delicious and creamy. I do wish there had been some more vegetarian options. They had settler beans on the menu but were sold out. They also had collard greens but I'm not a fan. I wish they had brussel Sprouts, green beans or something. Overall pretty delicious dinner. Great bbq does not disappoint...delicious casa dias and salads too. The chicken wings are a must have. Wine and beer selections are really good and the special cocktails are always tasty and interesting. The atmosphere is casual and friendly. Beautiful deck view of the golf course and sunsets. I had been looking for a good authentic bbq place in the area for a while and now my search is over. Everything I've had from their menu is phenomenal and they do an incredible job with smoking meat. Unlike other local places that just smother it in sauce, their ribs and wings retain the flavor infused in the meat from the smoker. They also occasionally make an excellent pulled pork chili special that we always anticipate coming back on the menu. You also have the option to have your meat vacuum sealed so you can heat it up for dinner or a party at a later time or day. The meat holds up incredibly well under the vacuum seal. read more

Truth in review here folks, Marshal Odeen is a fiend of mine. Having said that Ill share that Odeen's BBQ is an authentic Memphis experience. Born in Memphis Marsh has partnered with John Lloyd, a journeyman writer and truly inspired chef to craft some serious bbq. There's no brick and mortar here so you gotta visit the Ridgefield golf course in season OR check out his website for catering and special events. I've had brisket all over the country. Literally. Some of the local restaurants are doing a good job no doubt. I've Met Rock Brown, Steve Raichlen, Rick Baylees so I think I can confidently share that Marsh and John have perfected, yes perfected their brisket. It's great and if you can get their smoked pastrami you're gonna know life is good. All the traditional stuff is available and legit. Worth seeking out for sure. read more

Odeens is good BBQ for a good price with an amazing deck view overlooking the beautiful Ridgefield Golf Course. Be sure to start off with the tasty bbq rubbed potato crisps. The salads are very fresh and ours even had pumpkin seeds--they are very reasonably priced and individually portioned so everyone can order their own. We love the burnt ends, but the sampler is also a great option. I've also heard the breakfast is excellent. The quantities are not large, but if you get an appetizer, salad, and entree it is enough to satisfy even after a round of golf. The staff here is generally very good and upbeat. There is a tent over most of the large deck so definitely plan to sit outside. read more

We ordered from here through a meal delivery service and this place was absolutely impeccable. Food was still warm and the burnt ends are INCREDIBLE crispy caramelized but also tender bites of perfection. Sausage perfectly cooked with great texture and came with a mustard sauce. Finding this place is the hardest part since their is no sign advertising it since it's in a golf course. The best part is the view you get a stunning view of the course which is nice but I'm here for food not views. Got one of my favorites a pulled pork sandwich which had this really bland crappy sauce that wasn't barbeque but a mustard, mayonnaise hybrid that really wasn't put well on the sandwich only a little glob. So I got a different sandwich without the sauce it was good but it needed barbeque. The fries where good the wings where ok, I guess if you're looking for something unique in the area go here. read more

A lot of people love this place. So I ordered to pick up. The meats were very good, but I didn't care for the sides. I'm not use to sweet collard greens and the corn bread was small which I like but it was a burnt and dry and I ordered 8 and paid for 8 and only received 4. The only thing I would order from them would be the meats. read more
