Danbury is lucky to have a BBQ joint of this caliber in town. Took my wife and son out for a pre Mother's Day outing and The Cue lived up to all the hype. i can see why they are highly ranked as a premiere spot for BBQ. The cripsy pork belly was absolutely delicious. Crunchy, fatty and savory. The smoked chicken had great smoke and was not over cooked. Perfect bbq chicken. My wife basically said the mash potatoes were the best side of mash she ever had! Sausages and pulled pork were very good. Waitress was friendly and the experience was really nice. We were already talking about coming back while we were eating. Only negative was the brisket we received was dry. I need to be honest to rate the entire experience. Im sure it was just that particular brisket that came out a bit overdone. Baked beans were great. The food coming out of this place is top notch. The spare ribs were the best I have had in a very long time. Melt in your mouth slide off the bone with perfect smoke rings. Fantastic. Love the ambiance and feel of the place. That cabin in the woods home kind of feels to it. This place is a winner ! If you haven't been to The Cue, it's time to go !

It was nice to go to a barbecue restaurant and not have to eat off of prison trays. I enjoyed the ribs. Served a lot of food, all 3 of us took home leftovers. We especially enjoyed the flight of barbecue sauces, service was very good. A bit Smokey but not bad.

While not the traditional mother's day restaurant, The Cue knows its bbq. Also there's free wifi (which is always a plus), wheelchair accessibility, and if you really like the sauce you can buy it separate to take home. The restaurant inside is very relaxed and theres even a bar if you just want to come for the drinks. Our server Ian was very knowledgable and friendly and really helped us out with our menu selections. The menu had a lot of good offerings in terms of cocktails, but for nonalcoholic options there wasn't too much, I think the inclusion of mocktails could go a long way, especially with such an extensive list of drinks. Additionally, while traditional bbq places that I've been to tend to include a main and a couple sides for their platters, the cue only does a main with 1 side from the pit (extra sides are $8 each). For the bread, there was free cornbread with butter which was pretty good, but they only gave enough for each of us to have 1 small piece. I ordered the lemonade with blueberries as well as the beef brisket with mac and cheese as a side. The lemonade was served in a massive mason jar which speaks well to the value but instead of a puree they kind of just put the berries in the lemonade so it was still more lemonade than blueberry lemonade at the end of it. For such a big drink it should include more berries, or a berry puree, especially if it's an extra charge. The entree was similarly massive with 4 long strips of delicious beef brisket. The mac and cheese seemed like it was still cooking in the hot pan and the slab itself was hot so unless you're trying really hard you won't get a cold meal here. The brisket was nice and tender and more than enough. The main attraction though was the sauces. The main dishes "from the pit" each came with a flight of 5 "sauces", 3 of which were bbq then 1 horseradish and 1 vinegar. I don't know if I'd count vinegar or horseradish as a bbq sauce personally, but the three bbq sauces were very good with the original being my personal favorite. When we finished though our server was nice enough to give us to go sauce containers with lids for our leftover sauce! Overall, a very good bbq spot with great portion sizes and excellent service that I'm already looking forward to coming back to.

Craving for bbq?! Search no more! We ordered from this place a week ago and can't get over how good their bbq was! Then decided to bring my "picky sister"! Lol. She loved every of it! We started by ordering our drinks then our server brought 5 dipping sauces and some cornbread. We ordered the 5 meat bbq plus we ordered the brisket (my favorite from my last delivery order) When I say the brisket melts in your mouth, better believe it! We sat and even one costumer approached us and said to order the brisket! After getting our main we got some sides with it, crab fries, coleslaw and their seasonal vegetables. Their cocktails were amazing and were strong! We were so full that we only ordered one dessert which was the key lime! We will definitely be back!

Madeline was a waitress and she was excellent. She explained everything to us. She always came back multiple times to see if we needed anything. The food is excellent. I had the baby back ribs. I only had a half and I still couldn't finish it. truffle fries, Parmesan, not that good they were soggy and no Parmesan or barely any. I couldn't even taste it. Onion rings are out of this world the best of ever tasted, and according to my wife, the burger was the best she ever tasted so thumbs up.

Everything about our experience was great, the food ,drinks and dessert was amazing. I was visiting from out of town and can't wait to go back.

ORIGIN: Joe Yorio, Chef and Owner, opened Cue in 2016. Yorio's knowledge of the industry initially developed while working in the family's New Fairfield restaurant, and expanded through formal culinary training at Rhode Island's esteemed Johnson & Wales. LOCATION: The Cue is located on a thoroughfare that connects Danbury and New Fairfield communities. CONCEPT: Passing by with my car window down, the aroma emanating from the restaurant lured me to give The Cue a try. As the name suggests, The Cue is dedicated to barbecue -- specifically meats prepared in a smoker and sides and beverages to complement them. The restaurant also prides itself as having an unusually large selection of bourbons, ryes, and whiskeys at the bar. FOOD: I had limited time, so I asked to try something quick to go. I ordered the crispy pork belly with Mac and Cheese as chosen side as the host who greeted me recommended it. The pork is thick and perfectly textured-- neither too fatty nor too meaty/chewy. It is perfect for sharing and came with vinegary dipping sauce that nicely offsets the fattiness. (I appreciated that the sauces are served on the side, as this allows opportunity to appreciate the preparation and quality of meat.) The creamy macaroni and cheese included an uncommon truffle seasoning and choice of cheese (grassy Manchego), contributing an earthy aspect at every bite. I returned shortly thereafter and tried baby back ribs with a side of collard greens. The baby back ribs were perfect, and a "flight" of five different sauces elevated the experience through the novelty of being able to try so many. The collard greens were not cooked in classic southern style, but comparatively bright green, crisp, and bitter due to relatively shorter braising time. In viewing others' photos of the dish, it seems collard greens are usually braised longer than what I had been served, so I won't discourage readers from ordering. Complementary corn bread was served, and was a dry rendition as noted earlier by Erica. ATMOSPHERE: The interior is lined with blond wood and decorated with metal farm tools. The space has some unique features, such as large window through which the 22 foot smoker activity can be viewed, dining tables prepared for a wide range of group sizes, as well as a private dining room. A wrap-around patio with umbrella-shaded tables invites outdoor dining -- an attractive option as the restaurant is significantly set back from the tree-lined road. SERVICE: The host was very patient and thoughtful as he recommended some dishes that were quick to prepare, but also guest favorites. I also appreciated the little packaging detail, where the twine handles of the paper bag were twisted together. TIP: A second location opened in downtown New Milford in 2024. Keep an eye out for live music nights at The Cue via website event page or Instagram. Open every day at 11 AM. The owner has extensive catering experience, and catering BBQ events through The Cue is a popular option.

*recently visited the new Milford location but cannot find yelp page* My boyfriend and I have been raving about their pork belly and truffle Mac and cheese. It's so good! The pork belly has a perfect crunch on top and juicy everything else. We loved the array of dipping sauces and enjoyed the brisket and ribs too. We sat at the bar because it was busy but we had an awesome bartender Jake who took care of us and made some great drinks. I ordered the espresso martini and a lemon drip martini. If you're in the area, give the new location on Bank Street a try because the food and service were great!

Absolutely delicious. The flavor of the chicken is definitely from the grill and not artificial. Great portion sizes for the price. Fresh ingredients. This was delivery so I'll have to update when we dine in.

Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right on South Street with its own private parking lot is this gem. What looks like a seemingly medium-sized house on the side of the street is this unique spot. Out back there are several smokers that are fed with wood on a regular basis. Once inside you'll see the rustic concept. Lots of wood everywhere and a pretty open concept. Directly in front of you is the circular bar and off to the left is the main dining room. The lighting is warm and inviting as well. Service: The whole staff really took care of us since we were a pretty big party. We had no issues whatsoever. Food: So I got to try A LOT of things here. I started off with the Just Peachy which is Crowne Royal Peach served with a whiskey-soaked peach and some sweet tea. It was deliciously well-balanced and simple with only 3 major ingredients. Next up was the Homestyle Honey Cornbread. This was very good, soft and simple, I do wish the butter was warmer though so that it was easier to spread. Next up was the Honey Sriracha Glazed Pork Belly. It was so soft, so tender, savory and flavorful. I loved the bit of char from the "skin" and the sweet/spiciness was a great addition. Next up was the Smokey Mac & Cheese that comes served in a super hot skillet and it was SUPER CHEESY, yet very thick as well. This was so delicious, peppery, a bit sharp, but I really enjoyed it. Next up were the Buffalo Cauliflower Wings which are an excellent menu choice for those that don't eat meat. They're served over a blue cheese coleslaw and this was an awesome idea! I was very impressed because coleslaw is usually made with mayonnaise, using bleu cheese was brilliant. The "wings" themselves were crispy and flavorful. Next up was the Farmboys Old Fashioned which is a twist on the original classic. In it is Basil Hayden Toast Premium Bourbon and other secret ingredients. This was delicious as well and was just a hint too sweet to me. Next up were the Super Sloppy Nachos. These are a concoction of melted cheddar, homemade cheese sauce, baked beans, ranch, BBQ sauce, scallions, jalapenos and pulled pork. You can get chicken instead if you wish. These were delicious and very straightfroward, but pretty heavy. I actually really liked the fresh jalapenos that provided a bit of a crunch along with the chips. Very good. Next up were the Brussels Sprouts which are served with crispy pork belly and hot honey sauce. I mean, I guess these aren't healthy as they once were anymore. Lol. These were straight though. I liked how they were cooked and the other flavors involved drowned out the actual Brussels flavor. Second to last was the beef brisket. It was amazing and was so incredibly tender. Just simply amazing. I don't have anything else to say. Lastly, the smoked wings. These were super tender and they still had a crispy skin! The smokey flavor was excellent and there were hints of Cajun, maybe creole in it as well. I loved these so much. Value: Barbecue is usually on a bit of the pricey side, but that's just the way it goes. The food usually takes a lot longer and time is money. That's about it. This place wasn't crazy though and the portions are big so you definitely get your money's worth. In conclusion, I really, really liked this place and just wish it were closer to me so that I could visit more often. However, if you're on that side of the state or not, make your way there to check them out!

My wife and son were super excited to try barbecue at this famous local spot, but we definitely caught them on an off night. Reviews are mostly good for this place, so I guess timing and circumstances are at play. My wife ordered the peach cocktail and they were out. I ordered the RIBS, they were out !!! They didn't have the sausage for the combination platter and came out a couple of minutes later saying they had it (most likely just seared because the smoke was not there when we were eating). They were out of Brussel sprouts. They were out of MUSTARD !! I ordered a house pilsner they were out and I ordered another beer. Need i say more? On a good note they can barbecue. The brisket was very good. Great smoke ring and true winner. The pulled pork and chicken both had good smoke. Chicken was a bit on the dry side, but it was still good. Baked beans were good. My wife absolutely loved the cole slaw. Waitress was very good. Polite, apologetic and serviced us very well. We addressed our disappointment and hopefully by summer this famous BBQ spot can get back on track.

Don't let that put you off. They're one of, if not the, best barbecue places in the area. Dare I say, it's what The Cookhouse wanted to be (save for the walls and proper ceiling). Twins has a somewhat limited menu, though it's in line with what you'd expect from barbecue-only places; that being said, if you can't find something you like, maybe you're the problem. We showed up and ordered the brisket sandwich, pulled pork mac and cheese, and split some sides. Both entrees were to die for. I'm not a cornbread fan, but it was one of the better ones. The coleslaw was coleslaw (New England style, of course). The macaroni salad was the sleeper hit, though! Combine them all with their various sauces and there's something for everyone. Having Tapville Social there was a nice touch. I only had time for one beer, if that, so I tried the house lager. It's a house lager, no complaints. Everything else on the menu sounded familiar or was too stouty for a fatty meal on a hot day. Twins has music and events, so I'll have to go to some before they do whatever this outdoor venue does in the winter.
