My third and final stop of my Lafayette brewery tour. I tried several of their beers including their robot librarian, st nicole, buzzin' cuzzin' i-p-alien and cultural chameleon. My favorite was definitely the the cultural chameleon which is an IPA brewed with all South African hops. If I hadn't been driving and visited 2 other breweries, I would've definitely loved to have hung out longer and tried all of their beer. My favorite brewery in Boulder for unique sours and small batch brews. They hold a running club a few times a month and is the cool neighborhood hangout. The seating area use to be a whole lot more kid friendly, but the back area is roomy and perfect on a nice day. They serve minimal snacks, but always feature delicious local food trucks in the back. The beer is excellent, the place is clean, but they're like a good doctor; great at what they do, but horrible bedside manners. Expect everything great, but they're customer service. read more

This is becoming our fave brewery up in Lafayette. We've got this place twice on random days out and it's always jumpin. The petite saison is a great safety beer but hubs LOVES the Code Name Superfan. "It's like Orange Juice!", he said... if you're in the area (or not...bc we drove at least 20 min) give 'em a shot! Warning great IPAs!! The last time I was there they had 6 different IPAs on tap and all of them were great. Somehow I always land on one of the Double IPAs. The golden ale is also very good and goldeny. Most of the brews would satisfy a beer snob like me. Great bold flavors and a nice AV %. Usually between 7-10%. Yeah only true men and manly women dare to drink the grog at the ODD. read more

This is a quirky little place in old town Lafayette. The beer is excellent. The outside area is nice when the weather is good. They are dog and kid friendly. The food, when available, is from a gourmet food truck, making it all the more quirky. I go there every few months. read more

Great beer, frustrating parent patrons. I reeeeeally want to give Odd13 five stars. After coming out to Colorado to visit its great breweries, we've thoroughly enjoyed the majority of them. While the beer at Odd13 was great, however, the copious amount of kids runnig around was less than odeal. Bringing kids to a brewery is fine; letting them run around like it's a Chuck-e-Cheese is not. The most frustrating part was when one of the parents cussed us out for leaving via the exit because their two kids were pushing on the doors while the parents looked from afar. I highly recommend giving the beer a try. However, unless ground rules are set regarding the bringing of kids into the brewery, it might be best to buy some bottles and drink them at home. read more

Nice spot in Lafayette for some craft brews. They didn't have a ton in the way of IPAs, but the ones we did sample were okay. The Double Dry Hop was probably the best we had. Bad Guy with an Agenda and Eric the Red were pretty decent as well. Lots of babies on this particular day and we left right before the live music started. It's a solid place. read more

Farewell to an old favorite. Thanks for a great run, more than a year in total. Trivia Newton John is retiring from trivia at Odd 13. This has been planned for some time, due to several members moving out of the area. It's been a good time. We've loved the camaraderie at Odd 13, friendly staff, and the chance to come together to demonstrate our knowledge of trivia. We won plenty, lost plenty, came in second or third plenty of times. We kept coming back because the atmosphere matched the skills and interests of our diverse team of players. Unfortunately over time, the friendliness of the bar staff soured. We thought one of them gave up flirting with our attractive team players after announcing a relationship, but it seems the cause was even much more disappointing, if possible. This week, the longtime trivia host leveled a baseless accusation that our team was cheating. Apparently we somehow concocted a brilliant and devious scheme to cycle team members through the restrooms to Google answers. Seems like the kind of work that's definitely worth doing when the prize for winning is not even enough free pint cards to cover half of our team. If you've got a problem with large groups with diverse knowledge, limit the team size. If you're concerned about teams cheating, implement time restrictions. Actually they did that, and all teams continued to score in the ranges that they typically do, as you can see from the accompanying photo. For an institution that has previously decided the winning team by such critical and scientific methods as rock-paper-scissors, it's very strange to us that they suddenly targeted loyal clientele with wild accusations. As previously mentioned, the strength of our team has been our makeup of many diverse players. We have engineers, computer coders, historians, artists, multilingual players, and others passionate and educated in diverse subjects. To these lovely and talented people, the accusation of cheating was shocking and deeply offensive. Not something we expected from a place we've called home. I'm sure that this post will be deleted, but first I hope it is read and taken to heart by the Odd 13 team. What else can be said, but thanks again for the good times. Here's hoping you can do better for the teams of the future, because we surely won't be the only James Holzhauer to ever cross your path. read more

Odd13 is up there right now on my list of fave breweries. Their sour series is really, really great and they are doing some really interesting things with sours and crazy ingredients (I'm looking at you Kale Cucumber sour...). I also love their IPAs--especially their S.M.A.S.H and their session. Yum! The taproom staff is nice, the patio is great for a warm night and they bring in some legit food trucks every night. Spending more time up in Lafayette isn't all that terrible when I know I can swing by and grab a great beer here. read more

This place is sweet! We got here about 10 minutes after it opened on a Saturday a couple weeks back and was very impressed by the whole experience. From the minute we got here the bartender was friendly, the artwork and ambiance were awesome and the beers were delicious! They had some interesting takes on a couple different beers that all worked really well. I enjoyed the Black IPA and the Red the best, but overall everything was fantastic. I didn't do a whole lot of investigating around the actual space, but it appeared to be really large in comparison to the usual brewery. The patio was expansive with a food truck out there and looked like they had some foosball tables in the back for the fidgety. I highly recommend making the trek up to Lafayette for this great brewery! I am sure I will be back! read more

I don't know what it is about this place -- maybe I just have bad luck. I've been here twice now, both times receiving awful service but great beer. The first time I came with my wife and my son and we were ignored for ten minutes after we picked a table and sat down. Once we got a server, we at least got some good beer. Last night, I came on my own and was ignored for a good 15 minutes until one of the bartenders had pity on me and came out to my table to take my beer order. Odd 13 has the feel of a place run by teenagers. I ordered from the rotating food truck and got an awesome burger (Burger Radio) and the beer was great. For some reason, though, both times I've come here I've felt unwelcome. It feels like I'm imposing on the staff just by showing up. I think they cater to regulars and don't have a hostess to seat you, so you're pretty much left to fend for yourself. I could chat them up and break into their circle, but sometimes I just want to chill and drink a beer. If you come, I recommend going to the bar and treating it like walk-up service. Then take your beer to a table. read more

My previous review filled with wit and wisdom powered by Odd13's amazing beer was somehow deleted. While I haven't had any of this magickal nectar today, I will attempt to convey my love for Odd again. Let's start with the most important part of any brewery, the beer. Odd13's beer is THE BEST I've ever had. Period. I've had beer around the world, and Odd's beer is unbeatable. Better than the huge beers I had in Octoberfest Germany, better than the pints I've shared with friends in England over fish and chips, and even better than the sweet mead I shared with my hobbit friends in the shire. From Eric the Red to my sweet temptress Succubus, the beer is OFF THE HOOK. Yes I have hobbit friends. Get over it. Secondly, lets talk about the atmosphere; Odd13 is as comfortable as my home outside of the fact I must wear pants. Seriously, the amazing vibe is created by a staff that love what they do and want to help you have the best experience possible. Family friendly, but at the same time a great time for a rowdy group of friends. Since Odd13 has been opened I have NEVER had anything less than a stellar time. This could possibly be a fluke if someone went to Odd on occasion, but as a weekly regular I feel it is the norm. There could be standing room only or just a few regulars and I KNOW I'm going to be treated right. The staff, brewers, and owners are all class acts with a enviable knowledge of brews and lighting quick reflexes to pour me another....and another....and another.... Lastly, let me tell you about the food. For a place that doesn't sell food, I've had more great meals at Odd than nearly any other spot in Boulder County. Each eve a food truck arrives and serves the entire brewery with some of the tastiest dishes you could hope for. If you don't like one food truck, YOU ARE IN LUCK as tomorrow there will be something new. In addition to the food trucks, many of the local restaurants happily deliver if you place an order. Where can you go to get Mexican food, Italian, New American, BBQ, Burgers, and more? Odd13 of course. Take it from someone who eats and drinks more than he should, you DO NOT WANT TO MISS Odd13. Throw out the plans you had for the night and get over there. If you see a big bearded gent by the name of Z, feel free to buy me a beer for introducing you to your new favourtie hangout. read more

I was up north for a kid's birthday party and halfway through the tired crying kids and excited screaming kids I thought, man I need a beer. I was only 3 miles away from Gravity Brewing in Niwot but when I yelped them for their hours, I noticed that Odd 13 was having their grand opening today AND it was on my way home too! Score. Place was packed and they had live music and a food truck but more importantly, they had some pretty good beers. I only had a flight of the 8 beers they had on tap and I don't believe there was a bad one in the bunch. The IPA's were pretty good as were the Red and their Coffee Stout. I'll have to get back for some more sampling soon. If I had had the time (and a more cooperative DD) I would have also tried the other new brewery in Lafayette (Front Range) but C'est la Guerre. There's always next time and I'll have two reasons to come to Lafayette. read more

I've been going to Odd13 regularly for a couple years now - one of the best local breweries to have a relaxed group hangout! They always have a variety of beers and have even made a couple IPA's that I've enjoyed - that's unusual for me. Tuesday night is trivia and the staff writes their own so you can always count on it to be unique and a good time. There is a rotating food truck schedule, so food is always available in the afternoons/evenings. We hosted an event at this brewery in August for about 50 people. They were a pleasure to work with, reserved space on the back patio for us, and even notified that night's food truck to expect extra people. Lance, John, and Lisa received kudos from our guests, many of who were from out of state, on their patience and advice on what each person might enjoy drinking. read more

I really like the beer. I have for years now. But the awful people who have become the regular crowd here. It's apparently now a daycare for badly behaved children so their suburban parents can get drunk. It's a shame. Again, great beer. But it will only be bought elsewhere now. read more

One of my regular spots. They do several different styles and do them all well. It is a friendly space and the staff are welcoming. Parking can be an issue when they are busy but otherwise a solid place to go. One thing I love are the character paintings representing their different core beers. Very well done. read more

The bartender was sweet and truly wanted us to enjoy our drinks and experience (we accidentally stayed past 10 PM and she insisted on us staying until our flights were done). Lafayette continues to be the home for new breweries, but Odd13 continues to be my favorite. The building itself is old and no frills and totally unpretentious (thank God). The walls are decorated with the awesome Odd13 hero/mascot artwork and there's plenty of tables and seating. There's always a food truck, and you can bring food from the outside. Staff is knowledgeable and super friendly- and always willing to recommend something based on what your looking for. Codename Superfan is one of my all-time favorite New England IPAs, and is among good company with the rest of the beer list. It's kid-friendly, but not overrun by kids. Definitely a solid brewery who knows what they're doing (and keep doing it right). read more

Anyone notice several of the bad reviews on the bartender on Yelp and even google reviews? This is only my second review ever but felt compelled to say that I'll never go back to Odd13 nor will I buy their beer as a result of the way the jerk bartender treated my co-worker and I. We work one block down and have enjoyed the place and beer. Brewery's are supposed to be a joyful, happy environment. The bartender treated us awful, was clearly annoyed we were there, annoyed with the questions we were asking. He is an outright total snob and jerk. I'm embarrassed foe him and Odd13. read more

As a gluten-free faerie princess, I cannot drink anything here but Izzy's. Even so, the concept is cool. Very Louisville- Prospect-esque. This place brews its own beer and tailgates with a food truck-- a different one every night. Friendly beer servers made their way over to me several times to make sure I was hooked up, even though I felt a bit like I was in the wrong place not drinking beer! This particular night there were at least 4 baby strollers sitting about, lots of couples and toddlers. For the most part it seemed to house laid back and happy beer connoisseurs. I would definitely go back to visit with friends if I were just going for lunch or something. If they didn't have anything GF in the food truck, I would be pissy. I worry for the witch next door. I saw a beanbag being tossed back over the fence coming from her way. read more

A (mostly) gluten free brewery! They have really cool artwork for each brew, and these large pieces are hung all over the place. Also, find several foosball tables w/league, friendly bartenders, and reasonable costs. I'm giving three stars because of the small-ish courtyard and no fire pit. The outdoor seating area is good but compared to most breweries its not up to par. Also, there are frequently quite a few kids running around and this negatively impacts the mood. The selection of beer here is excellent and tasty! We've been in numerous times and enjoyed some really good IPA and Stout. We lean toward dark beers and they always seem to have one that pleases! There is normally a decent food truck in the back, and a good amount of seating both in and outside. Sometimes you can catch a limited release and score something really delicious to take home! I found six packs reasonably priced for about $10 but some double IPAs close to $20. All in all, its a solid place with yummy brews and cool artwork! Its also off the main street so there's less traffic and good parking. Remove some kids and spruce up the patio...then I could see five stars. It's worth a stop in to see what they have to offer! read more

I've been waiting for Odd13 to open these last few months. They're located diagonally across from my chiropractors, so I've tracked their progress. You probably shouldn't drink beer after a chiropractic visit, but they just opened. I can cheat, right? Anyway, we stopped in and shared a sample of 6 beers. Two weren't available and they're batching 3 new beers that will start being available very soon. My favorite was Eric the Red and, I think, the Succubus. Every beer had a very similar light mouthfeel. Most breweries I've visited have a range of viscosity. This isn't a negative, but a general observation. I did enjoy their flavors except with the darker beers where stouts and coffee taste isn't my thing. read more

And welcome to East Boulder County. After a few attempts at trying to come to Odd13, and finding a closed sign on the door, we finally made it on a time when they were open. The first thing I noticed about Odd13 was something noticed before we ever got to the place. It was the buzz. This little brewery quickly created quite a good buzz about itself, very quickly. Several people, whose opinion that I trust, (and several of those that I don't I might add), had said we HAD to go check this place out. With that in mind, we made it a point to get there, and it did not disappoint. Great layout, very open. When we were there, it was pretty full, with a Birthday part in full swing, but even those seeking a more intimate moment seemed like they were getting it. There is no food per se, at least nothing permanent, but they do have food trucks, and built around having them there. They also allow you to bring in other food, or even have it delivered. My Negatives about the beer are that the Sour, isn't very Sour, and the Brett isn't very Bretty, but they are VERY good for what they are, just in the way they are titled, I was expecting more of each of those components. That said, we enjoyed every beer that we tried, and the pumpkin (which I am sure is a short time item), was fantastic. Very rarely do I enjoy pumpkin beers, but theirs was very balanced, full bodied, not over spiced. I was impressed. The staff was prompt attentive and friendly. Odd13, I really want to love you. The vibe is cool, you're close to my house, there's a patio and a different good truck every day, you can even get your own food delivered but here's the catch: every beer I've had is sooooo hoppy! Like hops overload. Last time I went, there were zero dark beers available. No browns, no stouts, no porters. A black IPA was recommended by the bartender as a substitute but was undrinkably hoppy for my palate. I tried a porter they had in the past and it was hopped with spruce or something that I didn't enjoy so much. Please add some range to your beer menu! This place is great if you like hops. They've always got reds, IPAs etc that my friends really enjoy. I'd come more often if even one of their beers on tap was even a little malty... read more

I love Odd. We live only 1/4 mile away and this is our go-to spot. Always very friendly service & consistent, tasty beer. I'd love to see them branch out a little away from IPAs and Pale's and maybe some more seasonals but generally I'm very pleased and continue to come back for more! I like this place! It's just what Lafayette needed! They attract a variety of terrific food trucks, and you can always find a beer to pair with whatever you ordered from the truck. Ryan and his crew are prodigious brewers! There's something new to try every week, along with many regular brews. Eric The Red is their staple India red ale, and they do some great Belgian styles. I've become a huge beer lover... Thanks to my love. He has trained me well and now I appreciate and have a warm place in my heart for Odd13. I'm a particular fan of the Saisons. They also have a nice selection of sour beers. The Humulus was my favorite. It has undertones of cucumber and mint. So unique and delicious! A perfect smear drinking beer. The atmosphere is either hopping, which is always fun, or super local... Which is great too! In the past, I noticed that it was excessively loud in the primarily cement room where they serve l but now they installed fabric panels to absorb the sound. The overall effect is to absorb the sound waves and it works! This adds to a much cozier feel. It was nice that there was a food truck! They have a new one almost every night. I really like Odd13. I have only a passing interest in craft beers, am not a beer snob at all, and I don't go out in search of breweries. Brew-pubs have been in vogue for over a decade and they don't thrill me any more. But Odd is not like those typical places -- it has a different feel. This is just a really nice little spot, with really good beer. It is pretty open, with good sturdy tables and chairs -- hanging with a few friends or even a group of 10 people, they seem to have enough space. In warm weather the back patio is really quite large, with picnic tables giving it a beer-garden type of feel. At first I thought it strange that they have food truck service and no kitchen, but I kind of like it. The focus is really on the beer after all. I also loved that there was a small trio playing live rock covers one night when I was there -- just a perfect venue for that kind of thing on a friday night after work. This place is striking a balance between local joint and a draw for out-of-towners in search of really good beers. And the beers are really, really good. Did I mention that? read more

Often loud and crowded. Good beer for the most part, but usually not a place to go if you want to carry on a conversation. Their website says: "We love music, foosball, and sports almost as much as we love beer." I think that says it all. This isn't a place I'd go to looking for great beer, but instead a place I'd go to with friends who want to play foosball. The food trucks, when they have them, are usually enjoyable and a plus. This is the closest brewery to my home and I am glad. I enjoy all the different IPA's that ODD13 tests out. They have a good selection of beers, but they always have multiple IPA's and a couple good sours. If you like IPA's or sours, give this place a try. read more

This place is among my favorite spots to get a beer in colorado, and that goes to say a lot with all the craft breweries in the state. Their sours are the most perfected one's I have ever tried, no other brewery comes close. All the beers are very drinkable, they give you a full pint instead of the usual stingy 10oz you get at other breweries.. This has quickly become my favorite brewery, love the comic theme they have too. Only thing I can do without is the tiny plastic growlers they sell. Not that big a deal I guess in the long run, I just bring my own glass one from another brewery. read more
