I wasn't able to donate last time I went in October because I had a surgery in May. Was kind of annoyed that I wasn't told that until 2 hours into the process but I understand why they have that policy. I do hate how long the check in screens take. I read so much faster than they let you pick your answer. I was surprised when I got a call last week saying they changed it to 6 months after surgeries. I finally got to donate a few days ago. It takes a few hours the first time you go but it's not that long after the first time. Plus, they have decent compensation and bonuses. My veins have always been small and hard to find but the guy taking care of me was able to. I have bad veins so donating was hard on me and long but I don't blame anyone there. I was happy when one of the less experienced people passed me to someone who was and didn't try to make me their Guinea pig Lmao. I've always had problems with doctors even finding them so it's all good. I plan on going back here because I've heard nothing but bad things about biomat. read more

I chose this location because it's clean and the staff are generally friendly, and they used to have chairs available while waiting. That mattered because wait times here can be extremely long--sometimes up to an hour and a half. Recently, they removed all the chairs and now expect people to stand the entire time. That's completely unreasonable. Standing for that long is uncomfortable and honestly unacceptable, especially for a place that knows how long their wait times are. I've asked about it and haven't been given any real explanation. There were no obvious issues with the chairs before, so this change doesn't make sense. This used to be a place I preferred, but this decision has seriously impacted the experience. CSL is closer to me so If they don't bring seating back, I will going there. read more

Second time at octapharma in Fife. First time checkin was long but expected. Phlebotomist was great and donation went perfectly. Second time in, I go a newbie phlebotomist and she managed to do 2 bad sticks on both arms. The worst part is she didn't even ask for help just rushed it and now I'm left very bruised and can't go back for several weeks until it heals. They need better training Update: so damn slow. The place is clean. But the wait times are ridiculous,especially when you are a return donor and have to wait over an hour most days just to be screened. So if you are ok with 2-3 hours to donate, this place is for you. Most of the time coming in it takes anywhere from 1-1.5 hours to be screened. Then you have to wait to get a bed, so it's a good 2.5 to 3 hour process when you visit this center. I think they need to reevaluate there business practices and maybe come up with a better plan because this is obviously not working and they are going to end up losing donors over it. I am no longer going to donate at this facility. They have reduced the dollar amount you are given and the amounts are no longer worth my 3 hours of time it now takes from being in the last chair in line to check in .....until I am walking out the door!! The focus is no longer to get you in quickly . It is at an unacceptable slowdown. Not enough people to take care of the new donor check in process, plus keep up with the long wait in the chairs for donors to get signed in. Lately only one station is open. These past 2 days I registered to donate, went to the facility but left because of how slow the process has become!! I feel like I no longer matter. I am just a plasma donor number! read more

Used to go to one of Octapharma's competitors but they started really becoming ghetto and the staff seemed to care less if you were there or not, not all but most. A friend told me about O.P. and I was really impressed with the cleanliness and newer machines. Konnie is great and always has a smile. Management, however, needs to get more phlebotomists in there not only because of the amount of donors but because it's unfair to overwork the staff especially the ones doing the sticking and / or the disconnects. read more

You can never get a hold of the business after 4:00 because you're on eastern time which is ridiculous because we are on the west coast. I've been trying to call all day because they said there was an issue with the card but they needed to resend our payment and you can't get a hold of anybody at that center because they're closed at 4:00 PM on the west coast read more

This location is always super clean! Majority of the staff is nice and they get to know you when you frequently donate so it doesn't feel like you're seeing strangers. The staff is friendly and works hard. Unfortunately in my opinion I believe they are understaffed and employee turn over is high so new staff are always being trained. My friend has been donating here for her 11th time. She went in today they told her she had HIV. WTF I'm so mad I am going to do everything I can to make sure this doesn't happen again!!! Almost the same thing happened to me at Biomat they told Me I tested positive for the antibodies for HIV. Of course I went right away to the doctors, had a blood test specifically for HIV. NOTHING showed up. A week later again negative. And thank God there is nothing. So beware!!! read more

The sign-up process took a little while but that's to be expected the first time going in for a medical procedure. After all my paperwork was filled out on my physical examination they led me back to the chair and we're very nice and comforting. They were worried about my safety more than anything. sometimes they have their machines working correctly and sometimes they don't and when you waste gas coming all the way here especially your last little bit of gas and they defer you because your pulse is too high the first time and then your pulse is too low the second time there's something wrong with their damn machines I wouldn't go here I would go somewhere else. Three hour wait times are common the center is severely understaffed, the friendly staff do their best often pushing their breaks to accommodate the influx of people. I've heard on more than one occasion that staff have been there all day with no break. With half the beds empty and a line of 12 people waiting for screening because there aren't enough staff god think they would see the issue. I really like this place in and out fast and very nice employees.

I'm not sure what happened but at the end of October they took a turn for the worst. They have 1 person screening donors (always incredibly slow) so it takes about 30 + minutes if there is more than 2 people in line. After the screening process they have very few people working the floor (some are not very good, I have a strong work history with phlebotomy). If their auditor isn't watching expect it to take over an hour to even get started with donating. I walked in at 9 and didn't start until after 10. When I last came here the lady that poked me actually hurt me, it was the 1st time I have ever squeaked in actual pain from a stick...because she chose to poke through a KELOID scar and poked through the vein readjusting so many times. The actual donation process is much slower, I use hydration packs before coming in and dress warm...it's not me. Before the end of October the process was flawless and now it is way more difficult and almost a waste of time, I've considered walking out but I've actually met people who rely on plasma before... if they continue to waste everyone's time I will be choosing a different center. read more
