It was Gr8 viewing on a catamaran! My G'son & friend were visiting from MS and they enjoyed the smooth ride, unobstructed viewing, cordial staff and pod of 500 dolphins. Went at the end of July and ran into a pod of 500-600 dolphins! It was amazing. So many baby dolphins too! My kids loved it. My son got a little sea sick once we got farther into the ocean. The reservation process was easy, boarding and safety announcements were clear, and as we got underway, our Captain Chris used the ships PA system to explain what we were looking for and where to look...he explained the migration habits of whales, and the different types of marine life we were hoping to see, and the First Mate Cindy circulated among us to point out where the whales were ...we found several pods of whales, 10 animals total, a few bottle nosed dolphins came right by the boat, and we saw sea lions hanging out on a buoy as we returned to shore...what a wonderful two hour experience!! 2nd time not seeing any animals but not the tours fault at all. The first trip was great despite no animals because the crew still shared lots of information. The second trip none of the crew interacted with the guests. It would be nice to at least learn something especially when no animals can be found. Very loud and drunk guests on the second trip as well and no one attempted to curb their volume or cursing despite young children on board. Hopefully the next trip will be better. read more

The experience was better than we had expected! The website is easy to navigate and book. The instructions on the confirmation email was very clear and the staff was helpful. There were 2 crew members (can't recall their names) did an excellent job with navigating the waters looking for wildlife while sharing information. While we did not get to see any whales, we saw a lot of dolphins which was really incredible. My parents even spotted a few baby dolphins (awww)! It did get a little foggy about halfway through the tour but that couldn't be helped. All in all, a great experience and would love to go again! read more

What a great time ! This was a special "eclipse" tour - we had two Captains one drove the boat and Captain Joe looked out for guests along with Candice - they even brought Krispy Kreme eclipse donuts for everyone! But to the cruise - I enjoyed it more I think than the larger boats out of San Diego harbor and as an added bonus it is closer to my home and easily access from coast hwy , hwy 76 or coming off I-5 so a great place to take out of towners . The boat (ship?) was smaller than those in SD but you get much closer to the wild life - that was amazing! Still it's large enough to feel free to walk around on - there's a restroom/ head and a small bar where they sell drinks and soft drinks and some beers (cash bar) It was a real good time and I really enjoyed myself and will definitely go out again read more

We ended up seeing dolphins and a group of false killer whales, which they had only seen twice in two years! It was a very cool sight! They even let us stay out a bit longer to watch them. Even if we hadn't seen anything, just getting out on the water was itself a good time! The ride was smooth on the way out, but was a bit rougher at times on the way back, which I had expected could happen.I took some dramamine, because I've been known to get sea sick, and I felt just fine! We went at 12:00 and it was a windy, but sunny ride out. On the way back the sun had disappeared and was pretty chilly, so bring a warm jacket and/or blanket just in case. No fishing experience, no problem. Went out on half day with family that included 12 yr old girl and 14 year old boy. We rented poles on boat. They had poles all set for us. They provided a short tutorial once out in fishing area. Crew was patient and helpful. Lines got tangled and immediately they helped. Food in galley was delicious and good value. Caught lots of fish. On way back to harbor the captain slowed down so we could watch some dolphins. The boat was very clean. Loved observing crew clean the fish while sea gulls and pelicans scooped up the scraps.
