The whale watching tour was the highlight of our trip! Although we didn't see any whales, we did see a huge pod of dolphins. It was so cool to see the dolphins swimming along with the boat. My daughter absolutely loved this experience. We will absolutely do this again. Recommended! read more

A great 2 hour boat ride. Although we didn't see any whales we did see a pod of about 200 common dolphins. The captain and deck hand were very informative and ready to answer many questions. read more

Great crew and boat! Even though we missed whales we saw multiple pods of dolphins and got great shots of their antics.

Good experience - 2 hours on the water. We observed a pod of common dolphin. Overall, good value for what you pay.

We went on the 9:30 am cruise. The sears were comfortable and great view anywhere you sit. We were lucky to sit at the bow of the ship. The crew found a pod of 600 dolphins! Never saw so many dolphins all around our boat! We're going to go back with the grandkids soon! Great experience! read more

Took the grandkids over the weekend and we were so happy to see a small whale and pods of dolphins. Unfortunately most of our family got a bit seasick once we got out to the ocean. Overall we had a good time and staff was great. I would recommend them. I was hoping to try the sunset wine harbor tour but not sure how far we would go out to sea incase the hubby started getting sick. . read more

You have to book a tour with Oceanside Adventures if you are ever in Oceanside! I'm be gone whale watching several times but I haven't had a ton of luck until Oceanside Adventures. I booked their 2 hour 2:30 pm tour, expecting to enjoy a glass of wine on a boat but they exceed my expectations. I saw a blue whale, a dolphin nursery, and a rare white spotted dolphin! The tour guides are very friendly and laid back, they offer blankets on the boat should any passengers get cold as well. read more

Our family had a blast on our ride! We got to see tons of different sea life. The captain was great about providing details and helping us spot different things. So much fun! read more

So much fun!!! There were only eight people that ended up going on this trip so it was nice to basically have the run of the boat. The Captain, Chris, and the deck hands- Aubrey and Katelyn- were all very knowledgeable and hospitable. It was a great experience from start to finish. We saw hundreds of common dolphins and then as we were heading in, there was a pod of Risso's dolphins that we came upon. Captain Chris announced over the speaker how unusual it was to see these creatures especially so close to shore and he gave us a little education on them. I definitely plan to go back on another trip, it was the perfect amount of time on board and the crew was so welcoming, they did a great job making sure we knew about the safety features as well as educating us on the animals we were seeing. Very cool time! read more

Chris and Ivy did an amazing job on our tour. The captain Chris was very informative about the wildlife we saw (Sunfish, Sea Lions, and hundreds of common dolphins). Ivy was working on the deck and so helpful as well. The boat was clean and well-kept and the tour was quite timely. read more

We had a great time on the whale and dolphin watching cruise. We didn't see any whales unfortunately but we did see a lot of dolphins and sea lions. They only allowed a limited amount of people and everybody had masks and had hand sanitizer upon boarding the boat. We will definitely do this again. read more

it was very enjoyable and the crew was very kind and knowledgeable. We did not see any whales but enjoyed watching the dolphins. The ship was very clean. i will be going out again for the 5pm trip. I will also bring my grandsons next time. read more

We did the whale and dolphin tour and loved it! We saw tons of dolphins, jellyfish, sea lions and a sunfish...no whales but it was still amazing. The captain was very knowledgeable about marine life and we learned some cool facts. My special needs daughter even loved it! I can't say enough about our Captain Chris and Tikhon, they were both completely amazing. So much knowledge, I truly wish I had been able to record Chris's PSA about Mylar balloons, I would have shared that on every social media platform. We didn't get to see a whale, but the super pod of dolphins that Chris found for us was better than I ever could have imagined!! If I ever come back to Oceanside again you can guarantee I will go out on a cruise with them!! My aunt has been on over a dozen of these types cruises between California and Hawaii and she said Chris and Tikhon were better than any of the others. read more

Exceptional 2 hours plus spent out off the coast of Oceanside! Though we did not sight any whales on this excursion ( unlike our first trip) the dolphins were plentiful, playful and amazing. Strongly recommend and encourage others to give this boat, crew and company a few hours of your time and know you will not be disappointed. read more

Pain turning into joy, thanks to the employees on board A somber event turned into a blessing....did a burial at sea and the staff was so accommodating. They were there when you needed them, but were in the background so we could all experience the burial with the family. They came up to the kiosk and took all the flowers and jackets and ashes down to the ship.... They answered any questions and we used their radio to play songs and had a poem read. We saw dolphins and the captain came to us and said this would be a wonderful place to put out the ashes...My husband had rigged he basket to tip the ashes in the water and it was the most amazing picture to see the ashes float on top of the water with the flowers dancing on the water. I cant give a high enough rating to this company........ read more

My family had such a great experience with Oceanside Adventures today. We saw a pod of common dolphins which was worth it alone! The captain made sure we hung around the dolphins for quite some time and told a lot of great facts we had no idea about dolphins. The ship is clean and beautiful and well kept. The crew was super friendly and helpful! Highly recommend Oceanside Adventures! read more

No fishing experience, no problem. Went out on half day with family that included 12 yr old girl and 14 year old boy. We rented poles on boat. They had poles all set for us. They provided a short tutorial once out in fishing area. Crew was patient and helpful. Lines got tangled and immediately they helped. Food in galley was delicious and good value. Caught lots of fish. On way back to harbor the captain slowed down so we could watch some dolphins. The boat was very clean. Loved observing crew clean the fish while sea gulls and pelicans scooped up the scraps. Fun day and will be back. read more

Great experience, lots of things to see, nice and clean boat. Friendly staffs, highly recommended

I went on the 12pm tour last month for my birthday. Chris and (I think) Tecon were our crew for the day and they both did a fantastic job. We traveled with a pod of dolphins, and while we didn't see any whales, it was a breathtaking experience to see so many dolphins. Many of them were doing tricks and showing off for us humans on the boat. Definitely worth it! read more

Booking online was easy and seamless. It was easy to find check in with the instructions received. The staff were incredible! Amazing customer service and they provided so much information on the various animals. We learned so much! They even had toy sea creatures for the kiddos to play with and learn about. Snack bar is limited and cash only, but you can bring small snacks and non-alcoholic beverages of your own on board. We saw 2 gray whales and sea lions. We would definitely tour again with Oceanside Adventures! read more

The captain we had is knowledgeable and works very hard to get you whale and dolphin sightings. The crew is very helpful. The boat is clean and well kept and being a catamaran it will give you the smoothest ride possible for the sea conditions. Oceanside harbor is just a couple of minutes from the ocean, so no long rides through the bay to get you out to the whales. Two hours might seem like a short trip, but almost all of those two hours are spent on the ocean. You can't go wrong with Oceanside Adventures. We went out with them yesterday. We were expecting to see Gray Whales as they are migrating this time of the year. But a couple of off-season Fin Whales had been feeding nearby for the past two days and their off-duty alternate captain was actually hanging around with them in his private boat to make sure our captain could find them. That's great service, and shows that these guys must really love what they do. (I would - I am envious.) Fin Whales are the second biggest whales on the planet and while not really rare here they certainly not common. So we were very happy to see them. We passed through an immense group of Common Dolphins on our way out and we slowed down so that we were surrounded by hundreds of them. They had apparently also heard how well the Fin Whales were eating - they were headed directly for them. After viewing the Fin Whales for a while we went off in search of Gray Whales but the captain sighted two more Fin Whales! So we went off to see them. They were apparently headed down to meet the first two. And then along came a fifth. Whales can communicate over long distances and Fin Whales are very fast. These had apparently heard of the feast that the first two were having and wanted in on it. We ended up spending nearly the whole 2 hours of our trip, plus some, watching Fin Whales. This was a very unexpected treat. The boat is docked right in front of an assortment of harbor side restaurants and cafes. So it is easy to get a meal before or after your trip. No need to bring anything. They sell snacks and drinks on the boat. Dress warm - no matter what the weather is like ashore. read more

We had a great time taking our 5 year old whale/dolphin watching! First of all they are not following the Social Distancing requirements for COVID-19! Secondly this is the rudest most unprofessional service I have ever experienced! The owner "Captain Shane" should not be running this business or working with customers!! Please save yourself the embarrassment and the disappointment of dealing with this company!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! DO NOT BOOK HERE if you want to be treated with kindness and respect or see any dolphins or whales!!!! This was not our first time of being disappointed with this company but it will be the last time!! read more

I highly recommend Oceanside Adventures! We went out on one of their Saturday tours and had a terrific time! The staff was professional, the ride was smooth and we saw tons of sea life! Despite not seeing any whales, I had a great time. I really enjoyed the unusual style of the boat (very flat and open, which made getting close to the dolphins really easy). I'm used to the 2 story ones with an indoor section, and I prefer the flat and open one instead! Very informed and pleasant crew. Small parties makes it less of a rush to elbow people out of the way to get a view. And a glass of California Chardonnay is about the same price as a packet of m&ms (this is a commentary on the wine not the m&ms). I came for the whales but I'll stay for the wine. read more

This was amazing! We came upon a pod of over 500+ dolphins! They were everywhere. We had plenty of time to capture pictures and videos of them. We had a wonderful time on our Oceanside whale watching adventure. First we saw hundreds of dolphins that followed our boat and entertained us for quite some time.
