OCEANSIDE PIER is my CHILDHOOD! I remember coming here for Math field trips when I was in school, we would have sand castle battles and measure the geometric shapes of sand castle structures. Ikr, totally nerdy, but they were good times and I can say O-side helped me come to like algebra. Stories aside, the pier is perfect. It's got sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean and its majestic waves. You'll spot pelicans and other feathered friends perched with locals. Sometimes there's entertainers and poets offering unforgettable memories for tourists and regulars alike. Forgot something? There's a booth by the lifeguard tower with snacks, coffee, hot cocoa, and fishing items. REMEMBER: Don't FEED the sea creatures, they'll walk all over you if you do!

Ocean Side Pier is great spot for fishing on the pier, riding the waves, taking a bike ride along the coast, picnic in at the beach, there's lots of nearby restaurants within walking distance, and the house from the movie Top Gun is located across the pier. it seemed pretty safe as we did take a night stroll along the pier after having dinner at a nearby restaurant. also, conveniently located on the pier R restrooms.

This is such a nice walk. It's not too hard to park in the area and it's a pretty easy walk. I have a friend renting a place for a month on the beach and was visiting. After getting donuts nearby, a walk was definitely necessary. It was a beautiful November day and there was lots of people out and about walking and fishing as well as surfing. I like that you can walk halfway across the pier and look down at the surfers catching waves below. It's fun to watch. There are birds everywhere and lots of pelicans and seagulls for photo ops. The walk isn't very long and there's information along the sides. Like a land survey that you can use the QR code stick your camera in the stand they have and take a photo which is sent to the land surveyors. What a great way to keep an eye on the coastline. Unfortunately, due to a fire, you can no longer go all the way to the end, but we are all waiting to see what the new renovation will look like. It's such a pretty walk. The surface is a bit uneven so be prepared if you are with someone who has a little bit of difficulty walking. At night it's lit up by lights, but walking by day is preferable.

Oceanside Pier is a must-visit place if you're in the area. It's walking distance to many nearby restaurants and bars, and is even near the vintage house that was featured in the original Top Gun film. There's not much to at the pier itself, but I think the simplicity is what makes the experience that much more special. The sunset, ocean water, and horizon is a view that's worthy of a long gazing. I did see a lot of families with young kids fishing and patiently waiting for something to happen. What I liked about the pier is that it didn't feel like a typical touristy/trendy pier, but rather a spot where locales take walks and relax. Overall, I'd love to come back to watch the waves and sunset again.

I'm glad Oceanside's historic wooden pier is nearby. Here's a fun fact, it's one of the longest on the west coast of the United States. How awesome is that!! When I'm there, I enjoy being in the moment with the mesmerizing sunsets, amusing people/wildlife-watching, and listening to talented performers. The coastal vibe is always perrrfect! It puts me at ease - I feel sooo relaxed and carefree...taking it ALL in. This iconic pier is definitely a must-see if you're in the area for some O'side spirit :-) FYI: It's in walking distance to shops, restaurants, the farmer's/sunset markets, movie theater...you name it.

Beautiful sight of the ocean from top of the pier.

It's kind of like the no frill pier you can visit anytime - nothing really flashy here but the sight of old wooden pier, with plenty of walkway to conquer, through the end of the pier. Perfect to relax and for people watching, as well as the regulars who come out to this pier to catch some fish. It does have a little bit of odor here, probably from all the fishing that's done here. But the smell of the ocean will overwhelm you in a good way. Very close by to the local shops and hotels in the vincnity. You can get here by car or if you're adventurous, the Metrolink train comes here from the O.C.

I used to live in Oceanside, and I will never get tired of this place. It holds so many memories. I love watching the sunsets here. I also love going here at night because it's peaceful and quiet. There are also plenty of restaurants and shops to check out around the area.

Oceanside Pier is a lovely place to explore and take in coastal views. Places to explore near the pier: Oceanside Pier is located in downtown Oceanside. There are plenty of coffee shops to grab coffee, lots of eateries, curated shops to visit, a beach cottage landmark sits right across the pier where scenes from the movie " Top Gun" was filmed.

One of my favorite places to go to. I've Been frequenting the O'side pier since my childhood. There have been lots of changes to the surrounding area and most recently to the pier itself ... IYKYK. The nostalgia and all the new memories had here are definitely worth it. Amazing place to take photos, eat, fish, surf, play in the surrounding water n sand, etc. Many of us are greatly anticipating what's to come when the end is restored. A local and tourists treasure and staple spot!

Had a lovely day at the pier.Met up with a friend here and we just walked the pier . There were people catching fish on both sides of us. Part of the pier was gated off, but there was still more than enough pier to walk . We found metered parking with time still on the meter -score - but there were some nearby lots offering parking for $5.

The ocean breeze and the views from the historic wooden pier always make a visit here a five-star experience. I love being able to stroll, people-watch, enjoying the sound of the waves and soaking in the sun. 1,954 feet long, this iconic landmark has been around since 1888, and it's a fun experience every time.

Reaching out at 1954 feet, Oceanside Pier is the longest wooden over-water pier on the west coast of the United States. Built-in 1888, this pier had it's fair share of ups & downs. The original was destroyed by storms in the winter of 1890, and was rebuilt in 1893. Four more iterations of the pier were built and then destroyed by heavy storms throughout the decades. The current pier was built and formally opened to the public in 1987. In April (2024), the Ruby's diner at the end of the pier, caught fire and destroyed the structure. Rebuilding is set to be completed by 2027. You can still walk most the pier and enjoy the view. We always make a stop at the pier when we are in town. Definitely worth a visit.

Oceanside Pier is a must for any trip to Oside. Great views, right off of downtown Oside, lots of room to get some steps in.

The event offered some food options, beverages, and a beer garden. This was a free concert with some bleacher seats and plenty of standing room by the stage. We got to be right up front and enjoyed clear view of the bands. Jakob Nowell and his band put on a fantastic show and really got the crowd ready for the next band, The Plain White T's. We had so much fun and it was a memorable night.

Hosted by one Super Olympic surfer herself! Great entertainment! We came to support Jakob Nowell for a second time in O'side. We got to see him perform with his personal band Jakobs Castle. It was rocking! Great performance! He's the son of Bradley Nowell and has taken on the role of filling his dad's shoes as the most current lead singer of Sublime. He's also practicing the sobriety life in hopes to keep a legacy going. Afterwards we saw Plain White T's for the first time ever. They were quite good and brought in a lot of exited fans. Even a toddler with a sign by the same name Delilah. Iykyk Super Fun. Beach/pool balls were flying! They got kicked off the stage a few times! Lots of photogs/media for both concerts. Let's keep memories and music alive!!! Great times here!

That is not the case here. The service overall was top notch. The hostess accommodated us despite being late for our reservation and we were able to grab a cozy table by the ocean. We really enjoyed Austin, our server, as well. I always forget how incredibly fresh the food is in California until I get here. Each dish we ordered was outstanding - unique preparation and great flavors. We loved the oysters, whipped feta, artichokes, and mushrooms. The Albariño was crisp and delicious as well. Would absolutely recommend.

I chose…read morethis property because reviews said it was more upscale and geared toward adults, while the other hotel felt more family focused. Check-in was great. The staff were warm, helpful, and even upgraded our room as part of the AMEX perk when available, which I appreciated. Now for the room. The view of the ocean and boardwalk was beautiful, but the room itself felt very average. The mattress was uncomfortable, and there's no bathtub, just a shower. Even the robes felt cheap and thin. For a four-star hotel, referred to as a Fine Resorts hotel, I expected more. As far as amenities, I didn't check out the fitness center, but an employee mentioned the sister property has the better gym. You can use amenities at both locations, but there aren't many dining options here. The rooftop bar is cute with a relaxed vibe, and I've been to Valle for my birthday before, which was fantastic. But for the AMEX-included breakfast, you have to go to the sister resort, which isn't really the atmosphere I want when I book a staycation. I do have to say the blackout curtains were great. They worked perfectly. Checkout was where things went downhill. Around 10 a.m., housekeeping knocked. I put up the Do Not Disturb sign and let them know we had a 4 p.m. checkout. Not long after, someone else knocked. I told them the same thing. Then a third knock. At that point, it was frustrating. The team really needs to pay closer attention to the DND sign and the fact that AMEX guests have confirmed late checkout. When I went downstairs to check out, they said they'd email my receipt, but it never arrived. Overall, the hotel is just okay. The Michelin-star restaurant is the standout, but outside of that, there aren't many food options, not a lot of amenities, and the energy is extremely quiet. If you're planning a staycation, I wouldn't recommend it. You'll end up needing to leave the property to find anything lively or interesting.

Berry Crunch French Toast, same thing. Our friends ate the Stratford Scramble and it was just 3/5 as well. PRICE - considering the food is nothing special, I wondered why we are paying a higher price for it. Definitely overpriced unless you really care about eating at the harbor, looking at the water through some dirty glass. SERVICE - their current set up is to take your order, take your money, and give you a number. That would fine and dandy except that the girl who was taking orders ALSO had to play bartender. The line seems to be so long and take forever because she'll take your order, then spend 5 minutes making drinks or doing something else before taking the next person's order. Maybe this is their way to handle the traffic because tables are full and maybe they are down staff members. Either way, I was disappointed at the speed/organization. HEALTH CODE VIOLATION - the cherry on top to all of this happened since I had so much time in line to observe. The girl taking orders would take an order, process payment by touching the POS system, then scoop ice into a glass for the drink she was making (this time was a Bloody Mary), handle bottles of alcohol, and FINALLY, touch the bacon and garnishes for the Bloody Mary all without washing her hands. No doubt there have been many hands that have touched all of those things and contaminated them, all for her to touch food at the end without washing her hands. The POS system is also about 10 feet away from the bathroom so all of this adds up to something that seems risky and needs to be fixed.
