We were onboard with Chris and Ivy on Monday, and what a wonderful experience it was! The Common Dolphins (thank you Chris for teaching us that) and babies, sunfish (not anything like Minnesota sunfish, that's for sure!) The highlight was a rare encounter with a Blue Whale! I was showing my BFF from Minnesota, the incredible life adventures of California. Nailed it! Thank you all. read more

The boat ride was invigorating, seeing dolphins was exciting, the crew was excellent...worth every penny even without seeing whales that day. read more

See all

A wonderful experience for the whole family! We saw two blue whales and a large pod of dolphins during our two-hour tour. Want to give a shoutout to Saxon, who was very informative and made the trip special for the kids by pointing out the best spots on the boat to watch the action. read more

Did dolphin cruise yesterday. I call it a dolphin cruise because not a whale in sight! Disappointed for sure. We were hoping!!

It is a wonderful adventure. Very informative and interesting. And yes we saw a whale!

We had an amazing experience!!! I would 100% come back and continue to recommend friends & family to come! The guys were great, they made us feel safe and had good laughs with them! We saw over 1,000 dolphins on our ride!! I was not only in disbelief but the ride was breathtaking!! We watched a stampede of dolphins, I never see anything like it! read more

This is the most fun whale tour I've been on. Everybody is super nice and they let me take my stroller on the boat, which I didn't think was possible. Highly recommend. I'm excited to book again soon. read more

We surprised our grandsons with this trip! They were so excited. We saw dolphins right nest to the boat and the boys said it was the best day ever. The crew was amazing, we had the privileges of having Teconn (spelling). he is great! Very knowledgeable and interactive with everyone. Sean was great also. I know we will be back. read more

I will always return to Oceanside Adventures anytime I visit Oceanside. Their tours never disappoint! I have been on more than a dozen of their tours in the last 6 years and each time we have seen, at the very least, dolphins and sea lions. Often we have encountered whales of many types, too. The captain and crew are not only knowledgeable but also entertaining. I highly recommend this tour when you're in Oceanside! read more

This was are second trip, we enjoyed our first one so much. We saw thousands of dolphins surrounding the boat on all sides. So great!

Wonderful! The boat is comfortable and well maintained. The staff is friendly, professional and informative with interesting facts. We enjoyed hanging out with a huge pod of offshore bottlenose dolphins, seeing a fin whale, two humpback whales, a bird with a remora in it's beak and two absolutely amazing blue whales! So much fun! read more

Awesome time! Awesome and knowledgeable crew (Jim, Clara, Tico and Captain Chris)!! Can't wait to do it all again. We saw multiple blue whales and a calf. SPECTACULAR!!! read more

We just went on their whale watching tour and it was amazing! We saw several whales including Blue Whales, Hump Back Whales, and a Minke Whale. The captain was knowledgeable not only where to find the whales but also shared much information about the different types of whales. Tikhon was helpful to all of the passengers and was able to answer any questions. read more

Went out yesterday on the 2:30 cruise. Captain and crew were super knowledgeable and we learned so much about whales and dolphins. He made sure that we got to see some animals! He went out of his way to find an enormous pod of dolphins. I would definitely go again! read more

Was a wonderful experience! Money well spent. Time on the water, and the fresh air, just amazing. Chris and Kenny are good at what they do. On the tour we went on, we got the rare luxury of seeing a Fin Back Whale breech (leaping out) of the water. it was just breathtaking! Definitely recommend. read more

We were hosting a friend from North Carolina. It was her idea to go whale watching. I had been on a previous excursion in San Diego and wasn't that excited, but the tickets were bought. Oceanside Adventures changed all that!! This beat SD's experience hands down. The catamaran was open and roomy with 360 degree views. We saw sun fish, a very unusual jellyfish, minke whales and dolphins a plenty. Chris was our pilot and guide, Ivy, our hostess, deck-hand, and spotter. They were both welcoming, friendly and passionate about their roles. They were knowledgeable and went out of their way to make it a special adventure, tracking an abundance of local marine life. We highly recommend your next whale watching tour be with Oceanside Adventures!! read more

Lovely day to be out on the ocean (1/6/24). Like the boat, giving everyone great views. Saw only one fin whale, but it surfaced about 19 times when we were tracking it, once pretty close to the boat. The crew was sending out a drone to film it, so looking forward to that getting posted. read more

We went on a 9.30 am cruise on the Saturday of Thanksgiving week. It was our second whale watching cruise ever; the first was with another company in Newport Beach. We like this one with Oceanside Adventures way better. The catamaran, including the bathroom (an important point for me and I think many women can related), was clean and comfortable. The crew onboard made the difference. They went around making conversation with everyone and sharing bits of information throughout the length of the cruise. You can see that they enjoy what they do, which in turn enhances your experience. We didn't see any whales during our cruise but we saw hundreds of dolphins, many in large pods. Some even swam alongside our catamaran. After the cruise, we had lunch at Joe's Crab Shack. It was a lovely way to spend Saturday morning. read more

So much fun! The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. We had a few fin whale sightings on a lovely very calm afternoon boat ride. Could not have gone any better! read more

Right outside of the Oceanside Harbor we saw dolphins and pelicans feeding. The crew was very informative. We weren't able to see any whales, but the cruise was fun and didn't feel like two hours at all. I will definitely go again and bring others. So worth it! read more

The three of us were so excited to go on this tour. We went and didn't see anything. They graciously gave us another try. Again, we saw NOTHING!! Very disappointing. Of course, no refund or credit. read more

Did a 2hr whale watch tour with my brother, sister in-law, and my nephews. No whales..... BUT we did see a super pod dolphins that were active, jumping and fun to watch. It was pretty special. So glad I had the day off. I would definitely do this again and recommend it to anyone who loves seeing animals in the natural habitat. Captain Chris and Kyra were excellent hosts and did a great job explaining fun factoids and made the experience great! read more

I booked the boat for a sea burial service for my Dad and was very happy with the service. I called a few times with questions pertaining to the ash scattering permits and floral recommendations. Their customer service was excellent. Right before the ceremony we came across a dolphin pod that none our family even expected to see. It really lightened the mood. The people working on the boat were very kind and helpful. They helped us connect our phone to their bluetooth to play our music through their speakers and gave us the coordinates of where we scattered the ashes. It was a perfect way for our family to honor him and we will forever be grateful for Oceanside Adventures. read more

Went 3/16/24. We didnt see any whales but came up on a school of dolphins. They were very fun and interactive with the boat.

I thoroughly enjoyed my two hour shared trip. We didn't find whales but spend quite a bit of time with a few pods of dolphins. The captain and crew were great, as was the woman who checked me in. The price is reasonable. I would do this again. read more

Crew was great! Fun trip - No whales but maybe next time! So fun just to take a ride - saw lots of Dolphins - Worth the time!

Have a 6 year old that wanted to see dolphins; I expected this sort of thing to cost quite a bit and it to be hit or miss as to IF we would see anything at all. Figured that I would inquire. I was VERY surprised at the pricing. It was pretty reasonable for my Whole family of 7 people so we executed it. The day of, we got there early, the boat was bigger than we thought, tons of room to be socially distant while enjoying the ocean. We were gone a while and enjoyed seeing sea lions, and a couple kinds of dolphins. It was awesome to be out on the ocean and we could stand up, it wasn't scary, didn't have to put life jackets on everyone or anything. When we saw animals, they were super knowledgeable to explain all about them and everything to where we learned some cool stuff about them. The staff was super knowledgeable. If you go... bring some cash! You'll want to tip them and they sell snacks and drinks too. Bring some cash. read more

Great staff with knowledge of local sea life and entertainment during the tour. The boat ride and captain providing the tour gives a gentle trip in the bay and 3-4 miles out to sea. read more

What a great Father's Day! Shane and Chris did a great job of finding a a couple of huge dolphin pods feeding. It was so awesome seeing all the babies too. It was also really cool hearing about what and why they were doing what they were doing, Shane was really good at that. Just a great day and can't wait to go again. We actually signed up for the wine cruise in July before we left! Great Job Guys! read more

My husband are so fortunate to live in Oceanside and we go on whale watching dates often. It is always a good day with this company!

We had a fabulous crew and captain and in only 40 minutes, we are on feeding finback whales in only 150ft of water. They kept circling the boat and we were the only boat. It was amazing. And on the way in found a giant pod of common dolphin playing around the boat. Having a naturalist on the boat was really interesting. What a great outing. read more
