Disappointing experience - and we even did not get to eat there due to complete service failure. We booked a table in advance for our anniversary with specific request to be seated outside and we picked a time to see the sunset (all of this was confined). However, when we arrived on time for our reservation, we were told it would take a little while....but we could get drinks at the bar at our own costs. After asking how long a little while is we were told at least 30minutes without an apology and that we could wait in the chairs at the entranceS But who waits at least 30min past a reservation with no place to go and without any remedies from the restaurant? And it was a Thursday - I don't want to know how it is handle on a busy weekend. Thank you, Oceanic - your failure allowed us to explore and experience the sunset at another restaurant in Pompano! read more

Awesome place - food drink and atmosphere- hanging out by the ocean with friends and family!

This place was a big disappointment. Promises of ocean views are just that. Unless there for lunch and sitting along the railing there is not much to be seen. The place is too big and too noisy without any decor to take away the feeling of eating in a barn. All of this might be overlooked if the food was any good which it was not. One of our party ordered the chicken which was indescribable and served cold. Not even an attempt to disguise the fact that it was out of the fridge. Another friend ordered salmon which she left on the plate and I ordered the fish sandwich as I could not find a thing on the menu that sounded interesting. That was a piece of grilled fish on a bun with shredded lettuce and not anything else. No tomato, no sauce, no anything. Just a dried out piece of fish and bread. What gets me most of all with these establishments is that no one ever asks why all the food goes uneaten. Having hosted many a dinner both private and public both in the States and Europe a full plate going back to the kitchen portends bad food. I guess this restaurant knows that is what they are serving so accepts their food to go uneaten. read more

Came for the first time. Had the Burrata, Peruvian Ceviche, and the Mahi Mahi sandwich. Kill me now it was so delicious. Everything was very fresh and filling. I can't thank the team at Oceanic enough for making my wife's birthday dinner so enjoyable for everyone who attended they absolutely loved everything! Our server George was excellent and he was very smooth and professional with his service. He had no problem keeping everyone smiling and well served throughout the night. He even cut and served our birthday cake for us at the end! One of the managers Janelle came over to our table throughout the night and checked on us to ensure that we all were happy and we certainly were well taken care of! I ordered a black grouper filet fo my wife that she loved and I had the NY strip that was exceptional and prepared perfectly! I loved the mushrooms that came with the steak and all the side dishes we had too. Even the house made focaccia bread and salads were so fresh and delicious! I would definitely recommend this beautiful restaurant that sits just feet off the sand to anyone looking for great food and service with a beautiful location on top of it! We enjoyed the cool ocean breeze to keep us comfortable all night as we sat outside and we will most certainly be back! read more

Disappointing dining experience overall. Waiter screwed up our order initially. When food finally arrived it was bland and uninspiring. Drinks and food are relatively expensive for what you get. They list bread basket as an appetizer and charge you $5 for it. I wanted to like this place because it is beautiful setting but you are paying mainly for the ocean view. read more

We had the pleasure to dine at this wonderful restaurant on May 26th. From the kind greeting by the hostess, to our wonderful and attentive server Andrew, and thoughtful "check in" by the manager Janelle, our dining experience could not have been better. Three of us dined together and each loved our entrees, sides, and dessert. I highly recommend the crab cakes, they were by far the freshest, best I have ever had. Visited this restaurant for the first time for dinner. We had a cocktail at the bar which is beautiful and then went to a table by the ocean for dinner. Our server was Sammy who was great from start to finish! The restaurant is beautiful and food was ok. A couple of things to note, music is way too loud, our table of 5 could barely communicate without screaming and I could hear the table next better than my own. Too much blue cheese on the blue burger and not enough other flavors to cut it, maybe add some tomato and lettuce. Cesar salad too heavy on the garlic and wet and wilty. Probably working out kinks, will try again in a while but no time too soon. read more

I've been to many bad Restaurants but this takes the cake. I went here with my wife for brunch and ordered the chicken and waffles and she ordered the steak and eggs. My waffles felt like one you would get at a motel bead and breakfast. The chicken reminded me of some preheated KFC salvaged from the dumpster. My wife's steak and eggs was bad as well so she sent it back and ordered the lobster roll sliders and found a hair in it. I could not take the terrible food. The only shining light in all this darkness was the beach was sunny and the view was nice. I do not recommend going here to dine read more

We were there Sunday, I ordered off the brunch menu, Surf and Turf benedict, my wife had the pesto chicken something. Everything was good, the waiter was a little "speedy", but well intentioned. Wow, really disappointed in what I saw at Oceanic tonight. I was there a few weeks ago for lunch (my first time out at a restaurant since February) and had a much more pleasant and safer experience. Tonight, I saw several male busboys and food runners wearing masks below their noses. I was going to mention it to the manager until I noticed that she was wearing an ill-fitting mask that kept sliding off of her face. Clearly, wearing a mask correctly is not a priority at this restaurant. I believe the manager's name was Janelle. There were also many guests walking around the restaurant without masks on and no one was saying anything to them. I do like this restaurant, but I won't be returning any time soon . There are plenty of other restaurants (like Houston's) that take COVID and the protection of their guests (and themselves!) seriously. read more

The food is great, dinner was so good, the wait staff is very attentive, personable and great customer service. However, the Oceanic needs to clean their sidewalks. They need to look at the beach house next door as an example. The Beach-house power washes their sidewalk and we do not want to walk on dirty sidewalks and bring that into our condos. As a good neighbor they should accept responsibility of keeping the sidewalks clean. Will eat there again. read more

First time eating here. Was headed to The Beach House but decided to try this place instead. Sooooo glad we did. Romero was our server and he is a charming man. Don't understand the 4 star review it's 2.5 /3 at best! Hostess absolutely did not have any life in her, feels like an absolute tourist trap! We are local and we're really looking forward to trying this place out.. it has amazing views, great decor... BUT it was so impersonal!! Wait staff couldn't manage her tables, threw food on the table, food did not have any particular good taste to it so nothing over the top especially for the prices they charge! We won't be back! So disappointing!! I mean you'd think hospitality would have been revived after everything it's been through... I don't get it. read more

After being told that this restaurant was fantastic we made reservations and had dinner there this past Saturday. The restaurant itself is gorgeous, the location couldn't be any better being right on the ocean in Pompano Beach. The menu read well and we were very excited to enjoy drinks, appetizers and our entrees. Right from the start things went wrong they didn't understand how to make a dirty martini and we ordered three appetizers... tuna and lettuce wraps, beef tenderloin skewers and bread was not complementary, so we had to order the bread basket as well. The tuna was mediocre at best, the beef kebabs we sent back because they were brought to the table cold and the bread which was not complimentary was stale. The manager did come by, she appeared a bit rough and crass for the setting...she had the beef skewers redone and the bread re-brought to the table. They were both OK and nothing special even a second time around. We all had fish for dinner.. two of us had salmon which was supposed to be one of the highlighted entrées, another had a whole fish and one had swordfish.. NOTHING was exceptional, in fact both parties who ordered the salmon found it distasteful and barely ate it. The extra side of brussels sprouts were tasty but nothing that was brought to the table was hot other than the coffee at the end,everything was mediocre. This was not a cheap dinner by any means, this is not a restaurant I would return back to voluntarily for brunch, lunch or dinner again. In my opinion, if you're going to have a restaurant this beautiful, and such a picturesque setting and such a well thought out menu with pricing as it was... then the service, quality of food, should be exceptional. This was NOT exceptional it was not even great, it was not even good!!! it was POOR TO MEDIOCRE. I would strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant. read more

Very awful experience from beginning to end at Oceanic Restaurant in Pompano Beach. To start with, we called and made reservation for 10 people at 7 for an outside table. When we got there on time, they had given away our table to another group. They couldn't find a table either outside or in their main dining room and seated us in a secluded large room. After our cocktails arrived, my Cosmo was beyond drinkable and to improve its taste, I asked our waitress to please bring some lime juice. She said she will be right back but didn't return with my lime juice. I had to get up and go out of our secluded room to the Front Hostess and Nicole took my cocktail and added lime juice. Don't know how much lime juice was added but didn't taste good and I told our waitress when she finally returned without lime juice about it but did nothing. To offset the bad taste from my first cocktail, I switched to White Russian which was slightly better but not perfect. We ordered couple of hors d'oeuvre. Sun-kissed shrimp was good but calamari was awful. Children's pasta was tasteless but children's hamburger was not bad. Out of six adults, two ordered filet mignon and rib eye steaks and they were dry and nothing but full of salt--beyond eatable. Three other adults ordered salmon which came with wild rice and vegetables. Trust me it was nothing but full of sodium--probably good if you want to have high blood pressure (or good for anemic). On top of that, the waitress forgot to bring my daughter-in-law's dinner and after few minutes we asked the waitress about it and she had obviously forgotten and brought it. My DIL's Shrimp dinner was the only one eatable. Once again, I went to the Front Desk and spoke with the Manager and explained to him everything who told me he would address the issue with everyone involved and offered to send us complimentary dessert but we got charged anyway for three children's Gelato @$9 per child ($27) plus tax and tip.. However they didn't charge for my wife's birthday dessert. (My son. DIL, granddaughter together with my niece, her husband and their children came all the way from NY to celebrate my wife's birthday.) To make us feel better, at least the Manager could have done was to offer discount or not charge for certain items. (BTW, with tip we spent almost $600). However, he failed. To add insult to the injury, this restaurant has a newer electronic system of charging with built in tip of minimum 18% and upwards which needs to be signed while the waitress is holding that electronic machine. If you want to give less for lousy service, you are unable to do so without embarrassing yourself in front of the waitress. Tell me is this anyway to run a new restaurant that the owner has spent so much money to make it attractive? read more

I met a friend at Oceanic for lunch yesterday. I walked there from home, but she had to drive all the way across town. What a huge disappointment!!! The lunch menu was crazy expensive. I had a $16 hamburger which was literally the size of a silver dollar. The fries that came with were obviously frozen and were served cold. My friend had the lobster roll ($20) and it was small and unimpressive. Her fries were also cold. The view was beautiful but I will never go back. You can get the same view next door at Beach House and the food is 100 times better and the prices are much more reasonable. Avoid Oceanic! There are too many really good restaurants in this area to waste your money on this one. read more

Avoid this place! Very expensive and no where near quality!! My fries were ice cold and looked like they came out of a Dollar Store bag. Stuff was cold because of terrible service--it sat on servers shelf forever! Sure great view, that's about it. Better restaurants in area with much higher quality food, cheaper, better service, and guess what? THE SAME VIEW!! Like right next door The Beach House which is very good. After I left I shopped at Costco-- filled the empty void in my belly with a $1.50 hot dog! I don't believe Oceanic 5 stars no way-place is all glitz no substance. read more

I walked up to the guy selling cocktails at the front door, March 22nd about 2pm and asked to use the restroom. He said if I buy a drink, I could use restroom. I'm very disappointed that I would have to pay to use restroom. I left at once. If you had a no star rating, I would select NO star. Bad customer service decision. read more

Oceanic opened during a difficult weekend. Hurricane Dorian uncertain path brought several challenges welcomed only by the management and wait staff at Oceanic. To our surprise the decor and cozy feeling of the restaurant was only surpassed by the way the management recovered after an absolute failure of service to me and my family. The greeting was phenomenal the walk to the outstanding views was above par. Once we were seated, we encountered a wait staff that identified himself as NOT out waiter but was kind enough to ask for our drink order, which took about 20 minutes to arrive. Needless to say the ordered food was completely served incorrectly and not as expected; however, the management performed outstanding service recovery to make everything better. read more

My husband and I went to Oceanic last night for a second time to a cocktail an appetizer. We sat at the bar and ordered the Beef Carpaccio. Everything seemed very good until I got to the car and felt deathly ill. My husband didn't eat any of the Carpaccio so I know that is what made me vomit. He was fine. Had dinner there last night for a birthday celebration. We waited an extremely long time for our food. I spoke to the manager and he checked on our food and said the order was only in the kitchen for 22 minutes. Hard to believe since we were sitting for an hour and a half.
