The doctor owners, the father and daughter duo, must train their staff better to be more culturally sensitive when working with Southeast Asian patients and not insult our racial features. Is the Optician racist? This was the only takeaway I had walking away from this experience. Not to mention the awkward front desk situation. They have two front desk people, when you are talking to one, the other front desk person just stare at you the whole time. I felt so insulted and racially profiled that I asked my husband to call and cancel my lenses with them. Also, how are lenses $240 after insurance?!!! On glasses USA you can get at least three pairs including lenses for that price.

My son has been coming every week for his contact lens training and they even know him by his 1st name now. The front desk personnel are friendly and accommodating and Dr. Wong is amazing as usual. Although this place wasn't a Yelp discovery, it's far and away THE BEST find of all since my move here. Abundant natural light makes the place absolutely ideal to try on frames, and the staff honestly knows all of their products inside and out. This is the Apple Store of optometry. Dr. Lawson is simultaneously warm, engaging, professional, fun, erudite, practical, empathetic, thorough, and sentient of patient needs. Donna and Christian were completely focused on taking care of every aspect of my first visit. Christian was not just versed on the vast frame collection, he had a natural eye for suggesting which frames would look just right on me. I really appreciated that as I had a difficult year medically. But I had a number of problems with Cascade Vision. 1, they are *constantly* upselling, which I would have thought impossible for a doctor's office, but there you go. Every time I went in, whatever I went in for, there was always a necessary, over the counter product or not-covered-by -insurance procedure pushed on me which (surprise, surprise) they had available at the counter or through a special pharmacy. This gets tiresome. It also erodes trust in whatever advice the doctor is telling me about my condition. 2, I was having trouble adjusting to the glasses I bought there, for longer than the usual amount of time adjusting to a new prescription. I came back to have them checked out, just in case there was an error because everyone makes mistakes occasionally --that's human nature. The opticians got very snarky and overly defensive about that. A patient should be able to have their prescription checked out without questions. 3, I was misdiagnosed with a stye which turned out to be ocular rosacea. I saw 2 different doctors at Cascade Vision over about 3-4 months for this problem, at least a couple times a month, sometimes weekly. It seems extraordinary to me that they didn't recognize an ocular condition, which has the potential of damaging my cornea. The advice I was given (and of course, multiple products to buy!) to treat the "stye" was of course a complete waste of time and money and could have worsened the rosacea. 4. I had a diabetic eye exam and requested that the results be forwarded to my PCP. I had to make multiple requests over 6 months for that to be done, which is ridiculous, considering it could be sent in an email.

Not even close. I decided to do an eye exam online and it was $79.99 INCLUDING 6 months of contacts. If you don't have insurance....definitely don't give your business to them. If you do have insurance...don't give your business to them because you know they are just using and abusing the system. Go to Costco or literally ANYWHERE else besides here.

I remember someone telling me that people are more likely to complain about a bad experience than compliment a good one. I was seen first by Eileen who did my testing, the dreaded puff test, colorblind check and retina scan. She was kind, patient, and that part flowed really well, she asked about my medical history and any problems that I might have had with my vision currently. 5 stars for Eileen for laughing at my 'dad jokes' that I'm sure she hears every day, lol. Dr. Ma's exam was next. VERY thorough, unrushed, and detailed. She answered all my questions was very supportive when I freaked out over the word "bifocal" then delicately switched to "progressive ". She went over all my results gave her recommendations and even made suggestions on getting a second pair of glasses for work (on the computer) so I don't get neck strain adjusting my head for the "progressive " lenses. I went in to have an annual exam as part of my driver's license requirement. While I respect keeping dangerous people off the road, they refused to offer a prescription to meet the requirements. After meeting with the surgical team, i was told a prescription would be fine as I did meet and pass the states requirement, but a prescription would be helpful for my vision until such time surgery is scheduled and repairs my vision. I then went back to Coal Creek Family Vision, scheduled an appointment for prescription the next day... They refused to see me at my scheduled time as they were reviewing my information. I was then told a different Doctor would be taking over... it has now been about a month and no communication from them, but they did bill me and my insurance... I would not recommend them and found the manner in which they handled a sensitive matter at a stressful time to be less than desirable.
