Ocean is truly an amazing dining experience! Going at golden hour is such a treat- the views are unmatched! We did the 5 course tasting menu with the wine pairing and it did not disappoint! We loved the corn chowder, oysters, halibut, and the watermelon salad. We cannot wait to plan our return to enjoy another outstanding meal!

Ocean is a great destination for a celebratory dinner. The service is outstanding and depending on your table, you will have stunning views of the ocean. This is an expensive, fine dining treat with an emphasis on French style of cooking. The menu is offered as a 3 or 4 course prix fixe. We have been to Ocean twice before and the food was exceptional. On this visit the food was very good, but not to the caliber we recall, and several of the signature dishes are no longer offered. The menu options seemed limited as compared to prior visits as well. Several options had a considerable surcharge. Perhaps inflation, perhaps a different chef. The kitchen does not require all diners at the table to have the same number of dishes, wish is welcome flexibility. For our party, some had 3 and some chose 4, to best suit their appetite. Portions lean smaller, but the plates are beautifully presented and I doubt will leave hungry. For main entrees, we thought the Halibut and Branzino were excellent, but we miss what was a stunning lobster entree. Lobster does appear on the menu in one of the appetizers, a beautiful plate of asparagus with a poached lobster tail. While good, there was a very small portion of lobster on the plate. Ocean is worth a visit for a special meal, sit back, relax and enjoy the view along with some beautiful and tasty dishes.

Best culinary experience ever to ring in 2023. The only thing missing was getting to see the ocean whilst enjoying all the culinary masterpieces. We were so impressed by the creativity, originality, tastes, textures and delicious pairings we had not before tried for this 5 course meal. Vichyssoise with caviar was smooth as silk, burrata fantastic, Jerusalem artichoke dish was creamy and delicious and a definite surprise favorite along with the fois gras with lobster and hazelnut sauce. The Wagu beef was cooked to perfection. Both desserts were crowning finishes to an unbelievably spectacular meal which we thoroughly enjoyed. Service was most attentive and the timing of the dishes was amazing, allowing us to enjoy each morsel and digest without being rushed. Although quite pricey, it was so worth it. Such a great experience.

What an amazing dining experience! We arrived for our a reservation a couple of hours early to enjoy sitting on the veranda with some cocktails and snacks. The view was absolutely beautiful. Once it was time for dinner, we were sat at a lovely corner table next to some windows with another gorgeous view of the Atlantic. Dinner itself was delicious! We did the four course option and were also served a yummy amuse-bouche. The food was innovative, fresh, and full of flavor. Our waiter was also very helpful and checked on us frequently enough without being intrusive. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Kennebunkport!

Go to Ocean for the view. The service. The ambiance. The location. The plating of the food. The wine. However, the value on the taste just isn't there. To be clear, the quality of the food, the plating were all great, it was just the flavors and pairing of flavors was underwhelming. We spent $450 (including tip) and I left underwhelmed on the taste of the food. For that price, they should have it be exceptional. To be clear, the knock is on value. If we had spent $200, it gets a 4 star. But at the price paid, I've got to hold them to a higher standard. That is Earth Restaurant-level pricing without the same return on taste.

This restaurant serves up some amazing food. The presentation frames what is sure to be an excellent meal. The service is great. The restaurant is cozy with incredible views of the rocky Maine coastline.

We stopped here for the view while in Kennybunkport today. Had a rose and some oysters and halibut fritters. Both were absolutely amazing!

Sad to report on this our third visit to Ocean the chef has changed and there is no longer a desire to return. The chef change may have come with a mandate to lower food costs !! We'll there an old saying when you take the cheese off the pizza it's no longer pizza !! The micro starter includes 1 scallop sliced thinner than a human could possibly do ..lol and perhaps a 1/2 oz of thinly sliced lobster. The main Dover sole was ample in size but lacking in flavors. The. Rideye steak was slices of steak of unknown origin. It took 3 attempts at getting the temperature correct before I gave up and ate it raw !! It was actually tender probably because of the slicing machine thin cut. Deserts weren't bad ! Management was professional and courteous !! I think they are aware of the situation !!

The food was amazing! Our server was very kind. It was our anniversary dinner and it did not disappoint! Our dessert was very special

The desserts are pricey (most are around $15-20), but the portions are big enough to share with at least 1 other person. I got the Chocolate Chip Cookie Royale, which really hit the sweet-salty spot with a warm choc chip cookie, salty sweet cream ice cream, salted caramel, sesame brittle, and tahini whipped cream. The savorier elements allowed me to keep eating and not get overwhelmed by sweetness. My friends got the vegan peach crumble and chocolate cake and enjoyed theirs as well. The view was incredible and they had lots of umbrellas to keep the hot sun off you while you are dining. We originally stopped to get a quick snack but our baby ended up getting hungry, so our quick stop turned into a full blown stop. The staff were super understanding and showed my husband a private corner near the entrance where he could change our baby's diaper. They also were very chill about me taking an extra moment to feed our baby. It was truly the best (and most scenic) place to regroup and take an hour to get a snack and care for the baby. We ended up ordering oysters and a poke bowl. The oysters were super tasty and fresh. The poke bowl was loaded with fish and veggies, but the rice was obviously a day old and was a bit hard and clumpy. The sauce on the poke bowl was also a bit salty. I ordered an Aperol spritz, which was perfect and complimented the sunny beach vibes well.

The servers were extremely friendly, fast, and professional. Food? Solid, but nothing to specifically come to this place for. It's your typical, upscale American cuisine, with a tiny portion of the menu dedicated to Asian-fusion esque food. I came up on a day trip so I was satisfied with my general go-to dish when coming to restaurants like this, which is a fish sandwich or fish n'chips. We also got an order of crab cakes because I wanted to eat something that was locally sourced and well, it was fine. Again, I wasn't blown away, but I wasn't offended by it either. Are there probably better restaurants in the area that has better food for your buck? Most definitely. Is this a bit of tourist trap that actually has decent food? Absolutely.

I love that it's a bit out of the way of the downtown area so you can park and relax in a beautiful setting. I got the Tideline cocktail and substituted the tequila for mezcal after the bartender suggested it and wow! A great drink and i was impressed how fast the service was. Once we sat down inside we ordered a lovely Gamay for the table, you really can't go wrong with any of the wines on the menu they have a great selection. We ordered quite a few dishes to share between the three of us and the server brought them out in a 3 course style per her suggestion. We started with the citrus and fennel salad and grilled raddichio and these were both so fresh and delicious, we had to leftover vegetables this were exceptional. Then came the asparagus pizza, pork and beef meatballs, and the focaccia as our second course. We almost skipped the focaccia- that would have been a huge mistake. That is a must order, the texture was biscuit like and the seasonal flavored butter was divine. The pizza was really blowing us away with the white sauce and the chili crisp combination. The dough is so light and crispy as well it was wonderful. The meatballs were huge! and came with delicious grilled sourdough. The pasta and lamb shank came out next and at this point we couldn't see how it could get any better but then it did! The lamb shank is huge and cooked so beautifully. The pastas were definitely the standout bites of the course. The carbonara noodles are thick and cooked perfectly and the sauce is so rich a creamy. The Tortelli pasta was my favorite, the pockets stuffed with a gooey filling and the fava beans added a great texture to the dish. We were in carb heaven. We somehow were able to fit dessert in and i'm so glad we did not skip it. We ordered espresso martinis to accompany and this is without a doubt the best espresso martini i have ever had. We substituted tequila and they were completely delicious. I don't remember exactly what the names of the desserts were that we got but one was a a chocolate mousse with a peanut butter sauce and crunchy peanuts which was so yummy. But the favorite of the table was the pistachio one. It was like an ice cream bar with crunchy pistachios on it. Get this one if you go! This was an unforgettable meal from service to food.
