Starting with a LOW MOON MANHATTAN

Fixed menu came with some solid decision making. Very fun and approachable menu. Views...off the charts! The Bush compound takes up a big percentage of your sight, which is really rather awesome! We did not enjoy the navigation. Parking is in the back and there was no signage indicating where to go. Thankfully, we guessed correctly. Once inside, we were not quite clear if we were in the proper spot? Nobody at the front desk, nobody at the server station...if felt off putting. Not welcoming. To add to this, we were asked to have a seat by ourselves in another room? Why...no clue? We showed up at exactly our reservation time. It just added to the "this place is not very comforting".

Ocean is truly an amazing dining experience! Going at golden hour is such a treat- the views are unmatched! We did the 5 course tasting menu with the wine pairing and it did not disappoint! We loved the corn chowder, oysters, halibut, and the watermelon salad. We cannot wait to plan our return to enjoy another outstanding meal!

Ocean is a great destination for a celebratory dinner. The service is outstanding and depending on your table, you will have stunning views of the ocean. This is an expensive, fine dining treat with an emphasis on French style of cooking. The menu is offered as a 3 or 4 course prix fixe. We have been to Ocean twice before and the food was exceptional. On this visit the food was very good, but not to the caliber we recall, and several of the signature dishes are no longer offered. The menu options seemed limited as compared to prior visits as well. Several options had a considerable surcharge. Perhaps inflation, perhaps a different chef. The kitchen does not require all diners at the table to have the same number of dishes, wish is welcome flexibility. For our party, some had 3 and some chose 4, to best suit their appetite. Portions lean smaller, but the plates are beautifully presented and I doubt will leave hungry. For main entrees, we thought the Halibut and Branzino were excellent, but we miss what was a stunning lobster entree. Lobster does appear on the menu in one of the appetizers, a beautiful plate of asparagus with a poached lobster tail. While good, there was a very small portion of lobster on the plate. Ocean is worth a visit for a special meal, sit back, relax and enjoy the view along with some beautiful and tasty dishes.

Best culinary experience ever to ring in 2023. The only thing missing was getting to see the ocean whilst enjoying all the culinary masterpieces. We were so impressed by the creativity, originality, tastes, textures and delicious pairings we had not before tried for this 5 course meal. Vichyssoise with caviar was smooth as silk, burrata fantastic, Jerusalem artichoke dish was creamy and delicious and a definite surprise favorite along with the fois gras with lobster and hazelnut sauce. The Wagu beef was cooked to perfection. Both desserts were crowning finishes to an unbelievably spectacular meal which we thoroughly enjoyed. Service was most attentive and the timing of the dishes was amazing, allowing us to enjoy each morsel and digest without being rushed. Although quite pricey, it was so worth it. Such a great experience.

What an amazing dining experience! We arrived for our a reservation a couple of hours early to enjoy sitting on the veranda with some cocktails and snacks. The view was absolutely beautiful. Once it was time for dinner, we were sat at a lovely corner table next to some windows with another gorgeous view of the Atlantic. Dinner itself was delicious! We did the four course option and were also served a yummy amuse-bouche. The food was innovative, fresh, and full of flavor. Our waiter was also very helpful and checked on us frequently enough without being intrusive. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Kennebunkport!

Go to Ocean for the view. The service. The ambiance. The location. The plating of the food. The wine. However, the value on the taste just isn't there. To be clear, the quality of the food, the plating were all great, it was just the flavors and pairing of flavors was underwhelming. We spent $450 (including tip) and I left underwhelmed on the taste of the food. For that price, they should have it be exceptional. To be clear, the knock is on value. If we had spent $200, it gets a 4 star. But at the price paid, I've got to hold them to a higher standard. That is Earth Restaurant-level pricing without the same return on taste.

This restaurant serves up some amazing food. The presentation frames what is sure to be an excellent meal. The service is great. The restaurant is cozy with incredible views of the rocky Maine coastline.

We stopped here for the view while in Kennybunkport today. Had a rose and some oysters and halibut fritters. Both were absolutely amazing!

The desserts are pricey (most are around $15-20), but the portions are big enough to share with at least 1 other person. I got the Chocolate Chip Cookie Royale, which really hit the sweet-salty spot with a warm choc chip cookie, salty sweet cream ice cream, salted caramel, sesame brittle, and tahini whipped cream. Knowing they prioritize locally sourced ingredients only made us appreciate the experience even more and left us excited to return. The croquettes were light, crispy, and full of flavor. While the fondue wasn't our favorite, it's easy to understand why it graced nearly every table around us. My partner declared the steak frites the best he's ever had--and those fries absolutely lived up to the praise. As for my haddock Wellington, words don't quite do it justice. Crispy yet delicate, light yet deeply flavorful--it was one of those dishes you keep thinking about long after the meal ends. I already can't wait to have it again. Until next time, Chez Rosa.

I love that it's a bit out of the way of the downtown area so you can park and relax in a beautiful setting. We started with cocktails and drank them outside while admiring the beautiful property, i highly recommend getting there before your reservation so you can enjoy a drink on a nice day outside! I got the Tideline cocktail and substituted the tequila for mezcal after the bartender suggested it and wow! A great drink and i was impressed how fast the service was. Once we sat down inside we ordered a lovely Gamay for the table, you really can't go wrong with any of the wines on the menu they have a great selection. We ordered quite a few dishes to share between the three of us and the server brought them out in a 3 course style per her suggestion. We started with the citrus and fennel salad and grilled raddichio and these were both so fresh and delicious, we had to leftover vegetables this were exceptional. Then came the asparagus pizza, pork and beef meatballs, and the focaccia as our second course. We almost skipped the focaccia- that would have been a huge mistake. That is a must order, the texture was biscuit like and the seasonal flavored butter was divine. The pizza was really blowing us away with the white sauce and the chili crisp combination. The dough is so light and crispy as well it was wonderful. The meatballs were huge! and came with delicious grilled sourdough. The pasta and lamb shank came out next and at this point we couldn't see how it could get any better but then it did! The lamb shank is huge and cooked so beautifully. The pastas were definitely the standout bites of the course. The carbonara noodles are thick and cooked perfectly and the sauce is so rich a creamy. The Tortelli pasta was my favorite, the pockets stuffed with a gooey filling and the fava beans added a great texture to the dish. We were in carb heaven. We somehow were able to fit dessert in and i'm so glad we did not skip it. We ordered espresso martinis to accompany and this is without a doubt the best espresso martini i have ever had. We substituted tequila and they were completely delicious. I don't remember exactly what the names of the desserts were that we got but one was a a chocolate mousse with a peanut butter sauce and crunchy peanuts which was so yummy. But the favorite of the table was the pistachio one. It was like an ice cream bar with crunchy pistachios on it. Get this one if you go! This was an unforgettable meal from service to food. The staff is incredible and really treat you wonderfully and the food is so good i really didn't expect it to blow me away as much as it did. Staying July 27 - Aug 1st, 2026 (5 nights) Things started badly from the second we approached the front desk. We arrived a little after 3pm on Mon. July 27, 2026 for check in (guest check in is between 3-9). We were told the room wasn't ready, no problem. Decided to grab a drink and wait outside, beautiful weather. Gorgeous area, directly across from the beach. Around 4:15pm we were told the room was ready. Great! We carried our luggage up and were ready to relax/shower before dinner. Walked in and were immediately hit with a VERY strong chemical smell. Sat down and started thinking this doesn't seem right. My eyes and throat started to burn. Seemed like something strong mixed with bleach. We opened the windows and decided it's best to ask the front desk for help. Went back downstairs and spoke with the manager - David. Very kind and tried his best to help with the odor. He informed us that all the rooms are filled, but he could try and air the room out with fans and get rid of the smell. Again no problem, things happen. Head back to the lobby to WAIT. Around 5pm (we still had the keys) my husband -Darren decided to go into the room and check it out. David greeted me as I was sitting on the sofa in the lounge/restaurant around the same time. He told me that the room was ready, he had let the room air out for the last hour. It no longer has the chemical smell, but it does kind of smell like the restaurant. That was strange, but at this point we just wanted to get settled. I got up and walked towards the stairs as Darren was headed back down. He informed me that the bleach and cleaning spray was still beyond strong. My husband is not usually affected by strong scents, and was getting a headache. I did not go back to the room, as I didn't want to get sick. Back to the front desk, told David that it is still very strong and he said that we should have informed them that we had an opposition to strong smells before arrival. I thought that was crazy, I've never had this problem at any hotel up here before. Now he has made us feel like we are being a problem for speaking up about the smell and voicing concerns about getting sick. We asked if we could change rooms for the night and he explained the hotel is fully booked. He would need to talk with the general manager - Bridget. So we sat back down in the lobby. By this time it was 5:15. We moved out to the porch and around 5:30 Bridget met us. She was very kind and understanding. Stated again that the hotel was fully booked, no rooms available and offered to cover a dinner as an apology during our stay. I looked online at some of the sister properties around town, that they market as "connected" with shared amenities and services. We have actually stayed at a couple previously without any issues. I suggested we changed to one of those, because they have availability for the dates of our stay. Now it's 6:15-30 or so. I was told I would have needed to have cancelled my reservations 14 days ago to make that happen, as the systems are not connected. What? We want to stay at Tides, that's why we booked here! Why would we cancel our reservation ahead of time? This chemical situation was out of our control when we arrived. She suggested that we could move into a different room just for the night and then switch back to a room in our category tomorrow. Perfect, that was totally fine. We were still made to feel like we inconvenienced staff for something that was out of our control. Brigette gave us the keys to room #305, we carried our luggage up and settled in at around 7pm (4 hours waiting in lobby to get everything figured out & into a room). The next day, around 12:15 #201 was ready. Checked back in around 3-3:30, took our luggage back up and settled in after our outing. Checking out this morning. Said "Good morning and told the women at the front desk we are checking out. She replied "Good morning, so did you enjoy THAT room?"... We nodded yes, said have a good weekend and left. What a kick in the teeth to end our stay. We both left sad and disappointed with that comment. The staff all knew that we asked to change rooms because of the smell? Service, cleanliness and feeling when in this hotel are way out of wack and terrible. This will be a one and done stay for us at Tides.
