What an amazing experience!…read more I was looking online for a good Vietnamese restaurant, and there were several options around the area. At the end, my party decided on Pho Viet -- based on reviews, menu items, and proximity. We ordered several items: the fried egg rolls were amazing! They were filled to the brim and served with some lettuce, cucumber, and a daikon carrot slaw. They were an absolute HIT! Personally, I love a good Birds Nest (that's what it's called where I'm from). Here, it's called the "Stir Fried Beef, Chicken, Shrimp With Mixed Vegetable With Crispy Egg Noodle". It is a great portion to share with 2-4 people! The sauce was good and they were generous with the portion options on top. The rest of my party ordered the pho and they said it tasted rich, clean, not heavy, and perfectly seasoned! Service was great, too; we were the only ones in the restaurant and after ordering, I kid you not but entire order was on our table in less than 5 minutes! I was hesitant at first, but all the food was fresh-to-order. No microwave/under the heat lamp food here! So glad to have discovered this hidden gem in the Redlands! If you're ever in the area, pop on by!

When I picked up my order, I specifically asked if everything was in the bags and was told yes. I drove 20 minutes home only to realize my dumplings were missing. I called and was told she had thought she put everything in the bags, so I had to drive 20 minutes BACK to get them. I was told over the phone that I would be refunded because my food would now be cold from having to make the trip back. When I arrived, suddenly I was being accused of just wanting "free food" and was treated like I was trying to scam them. She said you're a regular here why you want your money back? You're taking from my rent. The employee was extremely rude to me. & I was rude back when she said I was scamming them trying to get free food. I was asking for the refund I was already told I would receive because of THEIR mistake. Mistakes happen, but you don't treat a regular customer like they're trying to get over on you when you're the one who made the mistake. The missing food was frustrating. The disrespectful attitude was worse. You just lost a regular 2-3 times a week customer in one night.

I noticed there are quite a few reviews complaining about bad service and orders being incorrect. In my personal experience, I haven't had any major issues, but I can see why some mistakes happen. One thing that drives me crazy is when servers don't write down orders. The young lady who took our order had to come back and confirm it with me twice. At that point, it would have been easier to just write it down the first time. To be fair, I think a lot of the negative reviews could be avoided with that simple change. When you're trying to memorize multiple orders, mistakes are bound to happen. Wrong orders lead to frustrated customers, and frustrated customers leave 1-star reviews. That said, the food itself is decent and has been consistently good during my visits. If management can tighten up the ordering process and have servers write things down, I think it would improve the overall experience and help the restaurant earn the ratings the food deserves.

The flavor was good and I enjoyed them, but unfortunately they were missing one of my favorite parts of xiao long bao. The soup. There was very little to no broth inside. The braised beef noodle soup was easily my favorite dish. The broth was flavorful, the beef was tender, and it came out at the perfect temperature. My only complaint was the noodles themselves. They were pretty tangled and clumped together, almost like they had been sitting refrigerated before being added to the broth. Once separated, though, I really enjoyed the dish. We also ordered the sliced beef with hot peppers. The beef had good flavor, but I thought the sauce was a little too dry for my preference. And when they say hot peppers, they mean it, there were A LOT of jalapeños. There was also a small wait between receiving the noodle soup and the rest of our entrées, so the timing could have been a little better. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, plenty of space, and is conveniently located near Downtown Redlands. Overall, I'm glad to see a place serving good Shanghai style Chinese food in an area where there aren't a ton of options like this. Definitely a place I'd come back to and try more of the menu. 7/10
