I got the Hawaiian Mani-Pedi, and it was amazing! My nail artist Susan was great, totally matched my energy and we had a really nice conversation throughout. The service was A+, I had a sunburn on the tops of my feet and she was willing to modify parts of the service to accommodate, which I really appreciate. Update: Steven reached out and offered to redo my nails, which was a very kind thing to do and certainly not necessary because he did a beautiful job originally and already spent an hour plus on my nails. I respect that he offered! Learn from me: If there's a stronger smell or different formula than you're used to experiencing, ask then. My mistake was thinking "hmmm, maybe this is some new form of gel?" and asking Google after. Original review: They do not do builder gel and won't tell you that. If you want acrylics, they do a fine job, but they will give you that instead of builder gel. I booked an appointment and asked if they could do builder gel over the phone. I was told yes. At the appointment I mentioned builder gel three times, despite that when the time came the artist dipped a brush into a very strongly odored liquid and then into a powder, which created a bead for my fill--classic acrylic. It was never communicated to me they don't do builder gel and I did not want acrylic. In addition to that I told them twice I have old gel x extensions on my nails, despite using acrylics they left the gel x there, which is a risky combo. If you want acrylic, your nails will look beautiful here. That's not my preferred nail and I would have appreciated honesty and transparency, esp because the mani and pedi was $168 including tip. read more

No bubbles, even application on my nail polish on such a translucent color, not thick polish, my ENTIRE nails were polished (my pet peeve is when my "blind side" of my nails are not done). Called in advance to book an appointment for 4-pedicures; they were able to accommodate. Entered the location, they've been waiting for us. Variety of pedicure options given to a customer. We opted for the following, -Ocean Spa -Jelly Spa -Classic Depending on the person they wanted a longer massage which is about 20-mins was the max massage time. The chairs we get to sit in are amazing ! I've never experienced chairs like these before really - they recline all the way down, providing you with air massages & you have a slot to put your arms in. Stayed in Kihei for the first time and my daughter and I decided to treat ourselves to a pedicure. We were not familiar with any nail salons and there were many to choose from. Doesn't matter how much you pay, you won't get more than a couple minutes ( a few seconds for your hands) of half-hearted "massage." It is almost like they have contempt for servicing people. In fact, during my manicure, the tech took a break to text on their cell phone. there are a lot of really great nail salons on Maui. They saw the negative experience I shared I followed up with me by sincerely apologizing and they issues me a FULL REFUND including what I paid for the tip! They explained that the nail tech who provided my services is a great manicurist and was just inexperienced with long acrylics. I anticipate she will stick to what she does best on shorter nails. Now THIS is great customer service. Ocean Nail Spa has proven that they really care about their customers and want to ensure a great experience. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone. COVID EDITION: Came here with a group of 5 prior to a wedding. They were appointment only at this point and besides seeing one other customer for about 15 minutes we really had the salon to ourselves. It felt so cool having the place to ourselves. They have a lot of color options, COVID barriers between the stalls and they do dip, shellac, and regular polish which is standard.
