Discovered Sugar Maui just by chance. Passing by many times & always left me wondering. Sugar Maui? Is it a bakery? Candy shoppe? What is it? Finally remembered to Google the business to find it was a more natural form of hair removal. Been here twice now & I was able to get an appointment that same week. The door is locked right up until your appointment time, so don't think she forgot about you. Was greeted by Hailey & led back to the room which smelled amazingly like her lemongrass oil she was diffusing. Had my lip done both times & I like that she checks through the magnifier & tweezed the hairs that were missed. I've become a jumper when it comes to hair removal needs. You must, must, must experience sugaring at Sugar Maui. I've waxed my legs for years and I never even knew this method existed until I moved here. It's safe to say that I will never wax again, I am totally hooked on sugaring. My legs have never been smoother after hair removal. And the softness stays! What's sugaring you ask? It's an awesome, natural way to remove unwanted body hair and Sugar Maui is the place to do it. I had never done it before, but gave it a shot after repeated recommendations from friends. I'm hooked! Not only is my skin baby soft, but it didn't hurt at all. I also love that the process is super eco-friendly and doesn't create a lot of excess waste from the waxing strips you end up throwing away. I had an appointment with Hailey at her new shop on Lipoa last week and it was fabulous! I had always waxed in the past as my preferred hair removal. After trying sugaring, I won't go back! I'm not going to lie, it hurt. A lot. I had her do my underarms, which I usually wax myself. The sugar Hailey uses isn't hot, so it doesn't burn. It doesn't drop, either, so no wax stains on my clothing. It stays sticky so she can use the same wad and isn't cross contaminating by reaching into the jar for more. Next, I had her do a Brazilian. I had waxed my bikini area plenty of times, but never everything. I was definitely feeling a little uncomfortable about exposing myself and also the pain that I knew was about to happen. But Hailey is such a pro. She helped me relax and feel safe. She's so sweet and such a good conversationalist, it was like going out to coffee with an old friend (and then ripping hair off my body, lol). She explained how the sugar doesn't remove the top layer of skin like traditional wax does. And I can tell by how soft my skin is and how quickly it healed up. Let's be honest, sugaring, much like waxing is a vulnerable situation to put yourself in to remove unwanted body hair. However, Hailey is literally the perfect person for the job. She is so warm and welcoming, it's like catching up with a friend when you go in for an appointment. The space is comfortable, smells amazing and she always has a good playlist going. Today was my first time at Sugar Maui. Hailey was professional yet personable. She's a real sweet heart. If you haven't gotten sugar waxing yet you have to give it a try. The hair doesn't come back as often as regular waxing and if it does come back it's much thinner. I was going to a salon in Lahaina but my girl moved off the island so I thought I would give Sugar Maui a try. I am pleased to say that Hailey is the gal that I will be using from now on.
