Angela is awesome! As a man who has only had one other facial, she was the best, very informative and thorough.

Just Three Words…read more.. Amazing, Amazing, Amazing!!!! I had lunch next door, been on the island 3 days, passed numerous strip mall spa locations and of course my Marriotts Resort had Spa massages at Twice the price. Popped in with no appointment. I had my island crew with me and asked if they can fit me in. Front staff was awesome, friendly, and accommodating. Answer was YES at 3pm if that fits your schedule. That was the magic timeframe in my mind. It Was Meant to Be. I dropped my crew at the resort, took a quick shower, I don't like to be sticky or sweaty for my masseuse. Arrived 10 minutes early and "Anne" was ready for me. She escorted me to the couples room, asked if there was any issues with my body, I stated I have sciatica but it hasn't flared up for six months. She stated to undress "To my Comfort" and lie face up. Face Up??? I've never started a massage that way. She stated, I do things different, I start with your head, like a champagne bottle, make your brain POP, then your arms legs and then the flip so your back is the coup de grâce. It wasn't a Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage, Swedish, or deep tissue massage. Anne has 30 plus years experience. She incorporates all that she's learned into her own method. O my Gosh, it started weak, I'm thinking OK??? But then she really started, kneaded, pinched, smoothed every muscle. Being that I was in the couples massage room, she had extra material, hot towels, heat belts, Hot Rocks, etc. she used it all. I was a pampered Prince. I've had high priced spa massages, low cost strip mall massages But This was the Best Massage I've ever had. I was jelly at the end. When I came back to the Marriotts and met my crew, They didn't have to ask, all they saw was a Cheshire Cats grin on my face. If you go to Zensations, ask for Anne!!! We plan on being back to Maui next year and if so, I'll have two massages scheduled. 1. Upon arrival to relax before our vacation starts and 2. Right before I leave. 100 plus 10 percent Recommended!!!!

The Ritz Carlton spa in Kapalua, Maui is "over the top" awesome! So relaxing, went with my sister…read morefor a spa day. Very welcoming, you get your own locker, warm fuzzy robe, slippers. Women's area has private showers and bathrooms, after changing you can enjoy all the spa amenities before and after your massage such as the hot jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, pool. There is lemon/citrus ice water, refrigerator of bottled water, fresh fruit waiting for you after your refreshing sauna and steam room stay. Their massage therapists are great, deep tissue massages are great, we always come here when on Maui, ya have to get a day of pampering!!

For reference, I would put properties like Dove Mountain Ritz or Niko Japan Ritz at a 10 in terms of overall experiences. If we're using those as the standard, the Ritz at Kapalua gets rated a 3. (For reference we are Marriott Ambassador and Titanium Elite, respectively) The pros: Located at Makaluapuna point in Kapalua, there is excellent whale watching from the cliffs. There's Oneloa beach next door with Ironwood cliffs for a nice daily walk. The cons: The folks staying here act like they've never been anywhere. Truly abhorrent behavior. This is not your home, this is a public space. Act accordingly. As a result, I think the staff are just fresh out from dealing with entitled haoles and it shows. I dont blame them but the Aloha is severely lacking as a result. It's noticeable and a bummer. When we arrived at 10 pm, the valet asked us if we wanted a cart for our luggage. At a Ritz its customary to have an associate who handles getting luggage to your room. Strange first impression that made sense as time went on. Many of the associates seem like they are temp or maybe new. The rooms are TIRED. Like 20 years past their prime tired. Room cleaning is at an absolute minimum. Turn down service is literally pulling one corner of your bed sheet down and closing the curtains. I think they are understafffed. This location needs to shut down and and undergo a major reboot and probably needs new management. The restaurants are very mediocre and the prices are absurd. At the spa, we had to endure listening to a DJ blast Soula Boy remixes in the outdoor relaxation area like it was Cancun on Spring Break. Once again, did I mention how poorly behaved the guests are? This was the worst part of the experience by far. Ive generally avoided hotels in the islands preferring a private home rental and I will absolutely avoid this one in the future. The brand name should represent something, but here it does not. Dont waste your resources here. If there had been anywhere else on the island to stay this week, we would have.

This is still one of my favorite places in the world and my previous review still applies, but the…read moreprice, my partner's (first!) experience, the service, and the products out of stock made me reconsider my rating. First of my concerns is the price of a day pass, which is now over $180 for only three hours. I'm not sure if/how they enforce this (we don't check in/out at any point), but having to constantly check the clock is the opposite of relaxing. For that price, it should offer all-day entry. Secondly, my last visit was poorly stocked. The piles of towels have been reduced, and sandals had to be pulled out of a locker. The sunscreen pump was empty in the co-ed area, and I had to notify the front desk as I could not find an attendant. It appears their partnership was ended with the skincare company that used to provide products at the vanity, and the iced towels by the steam room were quickly sitting in a bowl of water. Third, the service was brusque. My tour was given by an attendant (Aaron) who seemed strangely nervous, but my partner did not receive a tour at all. Her attendant just said, "here's your locker," and left. My partner had to seek out and ask the attendant (who was now giving a tour to a different guest) for sandals and was brushed off. She ended up getting lost multiple times, as the hallways and doors can be confusing at first. When I went to report the sunscreen, the front desk attendant interrupted me with her hand and said, "sunscreen, got it," and got on the phone, so I couldn't even tell her about my girlfriend's lack of an orientation tour. Finally, it's been years, but they used to have drinks available. One of my favorite Hawaiian memories involved sipping on a chocolate banana smoothie by the pool. Now the cafe is a gift shop with almost nothing for men, and when I was there, no one running it. I still love being here and enjoying the gorgeous amenities - going nude in the men's area and cycling between the sauna / rainfall shower / whirlpool jacuzzi / steam room is bliss.

I've been coming here for years, and a little disappointed in some recent changes. We purchased day…read morepasses today, which now have a 3 hour time limit on them. They used to cover the whole day. The thing that is the most frustrated though is that there is an automatic service charge for "service providers" at the spa, but you're not getting a service. The pool and hot tub are amazing, but the vibes of new management and rules and pricing are not. The place used to have the nicest staff, and no restrictions like this around the day pass. Sad to have seen it change.
