I was expecting generic, decent food but was shocked at the creativity and quality of everything I tried! It was delicious and every plate that came to the table was cleaned. My husband had the crab pasta, I had the curried scallops (special) and we shared the pan fried oysters (special) for a starter. We ended with the chocolate indulgence dessert which, per the menu, sounds like a fancy sundae but when it came to the table I was like a child as they poured an entire bowl of melted chocolate onto scoops of vanilla ice cream table side. We stopped in the restaurant looking for a nice meal and were craving manila clams. They were only serving lunch at the time and didn't have manila clams on the menu. I find the separate menu thing a little odd, but we decided to try a light lunch and maybe come back for dinner later. So we chose a salad, tomato basil bisque, and the razor clams to share. I've never had razor clams and was pleasantly surprised at how good they were. My husband chose the tomato soup, I never would have and OMG, it was ridiculously good. The salad had a citrus vinaigrette and mandarin orange slices. Everything was so incredibly tasty. The kind of tasty where you exclaim over and over about how good it is. We'll definitely go back, though we were too full that night to go back for dinner. The prices, especially for dinner, certainly make you think twice, but it was so good. I'll be back. read more

Ocean Crest is a wonderful restaurant in a beautiful setting. The food is gourmet with excellent preparation and the dining room is relaxing with photographs by Elton Bennett. We dine there whenever we are on the WA coast. A nice variety of entrees including seafood are carefully presented and delightfully seasoned. Also, there is a wonderful walk down through the trees and gorgeous northwest shrubs to the beach. read more

This place is fantastic for breakfast. Dinner prices are a bit higher but it am certain it would be really tasty. This place as recommended for breakfast to me. For $12-19 per plate you will get some seriously awesome breakfast with an equally impressive view. After reading the reviews we were really excited for a great spot for our anniversary breakfast, even planning to come back for dinner. However, we were very disappointed. My eggs had shell in them and my husbands eggs were very undercooked and his spam was too. Our "hashbrowns" looked like they had been cooked once, mashed and then attempted to be refried with extra oil. The service was good and the reason for the 3 stars instead of 1, they made our meal right by comping my eggs, but for a place that charges $4 for a cup of tea, I expect more. The view was stunning, but you have to watch it through the people next to the windows if you are unlucky enough to get a non window seat. The main hostess even "tut-tutted" a couple who was moving after their waitress said they could. read more

The view and decor are truly beautiful. The staff is cordial and attentive. It is the quality of the food that is lacking and it brings the whole experience down to something less than acceptable. I had the award winning crab cakes, which were dry and made from flake crab that was chuck full of pieces of shell. The vegetables were cold and undercooked. The rice was flavorless, except for an over abundance of salt. Our other dish was the Thai Mai chicken sandwich, with the $8 upgrade to add their award winning seafood chowder. As with the crab cakes, to have won an award, the jury must never have been exposed to dishes worthy of an award title. The highlighted Panko crust on the chicken was unpleasantly soggy. The chicken itself was nice, moist and tender, and the Thai flavors were good. We did't order any alcoholic beverages and our bill, with tip, was $75.00. Our visit was definitely enhanced by being the ONLY people in the restaurant during lunch on a Friday afternoon. We had the best table and everyone's undivided attention. Sadly it was because we didn't know what others have already discovered. There are many better places to choose from when on this stretch of beach. That being said, a different chef could turn this around. I'll continue to read future reviews looking for improvement. Incredible service, great food, beautiful view! We came from Seattle to stay on the coast for my Mom's 75th birthday, stopped here for dinner with a party of 11. Often, places that are remote or have a tourist draw (like the beautiful view here) will skimp on food or service. Definitely NOT the case here. We were especially blown away by the level of service. We had 3 young children with us, and this place is fantastic with kids. Our server (Tammy) was maybe one of the best servers ever... incredible with kids, incredible with everybody in our entire party. Beyond personable and allowed for our group to focus to be on our celebration. The food was 5 star, the sunset view was amazing. Absolutely fantastic! read more

Looked like an overpriced tourist trap, but boy, was I wrong! The food is the best I've had since moving to the Pacific Northwest 4 years ago. This is a small restaurant attached to a hotel on a winding coast road, and if you didn't know it was there, you would drive right past it. I'm from the Gulf Coast of Florida, and highly value my seafood experience. The quality , taste, and preparation of the Captain's Plate greatly exceeded anything I've had in a long while. The fish was perfectly cooked with the most tantalizing seasoning. And the Key Lime Pie!, you will not find better in the state of Florida. I don't know where this restaurant found their young chef, but they better hang on to him! read more

Genuinely good food and service, with a nice creek view out to the ocean. Breakfast was generous. Dinner items varied and well prepared. No rushed feeling with either meal. Cons- prices of recited dinner specials were left to the diners' imagination (and eventual surprise; I really don't have much respect for this old trick) and the dinners relied a bit too much on salt to zip up the taste. But overall a pleasant experience and has to be considered in context. Not too many dining options in the area, and some of the local competition is pretty horrible. read more

The view is beautiful and the person who seated us for lunch was super nice and conscientious, But our server didn't seem prepared to serve customers. She struggled with the short list of beer they had to offer, as well as salad descriptions. She wasn't well-versed in the menu overall, even though there weren't many dishes to choose from. My husband's meal was better than mine, I know I tasted it, but can't remember what it was. I had oysters, and they were okay, but paying $17 for a lunch that was just okay is ridiculous. The oysters were accompanied by quinoa and a gloopy, bitter sauce that stuck to my teeth. I'm afraid I was expecting better, especially since we'd heard such nice things about this restaurant. And yes, they usually have Wi-Fi, but it was down that day.No biggie, we were only there for lunch, but if we were staying there I'd certainly hope that they'd have it up and running again. read more

This oceanside restaurant has delicious food and excellent service. We were staying in Seabrook and wanted seafood. Among my family, we had a variety of dishes, including clam chowder, flat iron steak, clams, yellow curry, and cheesecake. The tables are spread out for COVID precautions and the place was super clean. Every one wore masks. We felt very safe. The view was beautiful and it all made for a very nice last night at the ocean. read more

Wow, what a treat this restaurant is! A little on the pricey side, but well worth it. We loved the Asian themed Dungeness crabcakes appetizer with chocolate sauce. Flat iron steaks with sauteed mushrooms, onions, and peppercorn sauce were cooked perfectly. I have never had Gorgonzola scalloped potatoes, but they delicious and I definitely plan to have them again. Creme brulee carmelized at the table by our waiter finished off a great meal. read more

I hate to write a negative review, but what I experienced was truly unacceptable. Whoever thought it was a good idea to charge $100 for a no-refunds, no-cancellations dinner event (marketed as "a magical evening" at this "fine dining" restaurant resort) then serve nothing but pre-made, COLD entrees should be ashamed of themselves. It was a three course meal. The chocolate cake had the gritty, chalky consistency of dirt, and was still frozen in the middle. The appetizer was cold chicken wings dusted in coco powder. The main course; cold duck-breast-in-chocolate-sauce (an abominable idea to start with) was a hard gelatinous rubber reminiscent of SPAM. No one at my table finished their food. We noticed most people in the dining area were sending their plates back largely untouched. I felt very sorry for a woman sitting nearby who said that this was her very first experience trying duck - she found it nauseating, and like most of us, couldn't get past the first bite. No attempt was made to address the complaints of the diners by management as they walked by the tables. I drove over an hour each way to attend this dinner party, and went home hungry and disappointed. That we were charged so much $$$ for such awful food was appalling. Never again! read more

We ate here a total of 4 times over 3 days (2 dinners, one lunch, and just coffee and dessert on our first day while we waited for our room to be ready). Each meal was outstanding-, including two dinner specials (a smoked salmon pasta dish and an ahi tuna dish), and the salmon on their regular dinner menu. Salads and the clam chowder were very good. The portion sizes are reasonable, and the service was uniformly extremely good. I am surprised that the quality of both the food and the staff was so high in such a relatively remote place. I love this place. This is our first visit since the remodel and they did a beautiful job. You can't beat the sunset view! We shared some drinks at the bar before we were seated- great dirty martini! I had the Dungeness Crab Pasta and it was yummy- although a tad bit cold... My mom had the salmon and it was phenomenal! Great flavor! Our friends had the Marsala Chicken and the Duck and I was able to try both- both were good! We were celebrating a birthday and the restaurant comped a dessert for us to share- so nice! Natalie was our server and she was the cherry on top of our night- we loved her. We'll be back next September! read more

My boyfriend and I went here on our weekend get away for lunch and dinner. For lunch I got the clam chowder which was really just flavored warm milk with potatoes. It was not creamy and not was I was craving. The crab melt however was delicious. We decided to go back for dinner and made reservations. When we arrived we had to wait 15 minutes to get seated even though we had reservations! For dinner I had the crab pasta and my boyfriend had the scallops. Both were so amazing!! Definitely one of my favorite meals. The only downside was that our server loved to chat with the other tables. It was distracting as well as annoying towards the end when we just wanted our check so we could go home. read more

This is our second time here in one week. I ran into a woman walking her dog on the beach who recommended it and this restaurant did not disappoint! For lunch I had the chowder and my husband had the shipwreck sandwich Amazing! And the view is incredible. We came back for dinner and I had the cioppino. So delicious! My husband had the tomahawk steak with blue cheese. Out of this world! This place is so low key, but delicious. We'll come back to the coast just for this restaurant! read more

This restaurant was simply phenomenal. It has the most beautiful view, especially at sunset. We ordered the crab cakes, the Louisiana prawns, and the harvest greens salad. The prawns were out of this world amazing. The crab cakes were chalked full of crab and cooked perfectly. The salad was simple but fresh and delicious. All the food was plated in a stunning manner. We finished off the night with the chocolate indulgence which was a delicious treat. The service was great and we loved our waiter, Kyle. The staff was so friendly and we even got to meet the chef! After a long day on a Pelagic birding trip we arrived at the Ocean Crest resort excited to there was a hot tub, pool and sauna to relax in before eating at the onsite restaurant. We enjoyed the option of small plates since it was so late. The grilled oysters and Dungeness crab dip were both wonderful!!! Good food, excellent service, weird vibe. Two of us had a late lunch here on Wednesday, and three of us had breakfast this morning. Lunch: we were seated at a great table by the window, and we each had the cuban sandwich which were really good, plus a couple of beers. Our server was Rhonda who was friendly and attentive. There was a woman there though who we assumed was one of the owners. She constantly hovered in the dining room. She never asked anyone how things were, she just hovered between quick trips in and out of the kitchen. Odd. On to Breakfast: we all had omelets and a couple of "eye openers." When we got there, the dining room was full, but we could see a couple of tables were wrapping up, including a single at a four top. Rather than asking us if we minded a short wait, the older gentleman who we gather was the one previously mentioned in other reviews, grumpily muttered "well, I guess I'll have to put you in the lounge then" and sat us at a high top next to the bar. Fine. Our server was Sam who was excellent! We told him we weren't in a hurry, which he seemed to appreciate. While the food was good, there was a weird vibe. The same woman hovered over Sam while he made our drinks, obviously making sure he didnt over pour. The older gentlemen finished his breakfast at a table right next to us. It was just weird. After he finished his breakfast, the gentleman seemed to do the same thing. We felt watched, but were never asked by either of them how things were. Sure, they are the only restaurant in Moclips, but they need to relax! The severs work their butts off, and dont deserve to be constantly watched. Especially when its obvious to the customers. Our favorite restaurant in the Northwest! We have NEVER been disappointed with any meal we have been served at this restaurant. We try to stay at the Ocean Crest Resort one to two times each year and have eaten here many times. Recently I switched to a plant based diet and the Vegetable Curry over rice was to die for! My husband had the halibut and said it was literally the best he had ever eaten. Don't miss an opportunity to eat at this restaurant. Call for reservations! read more

This was a great lunch! We were a relatively large party (7, including three small children), who walked in on a Saturday. We were sat almost immediately and the hostess and waitress were pleasant and informative. I had the Cobb Salad and it was huge and delicious. My husband had the smoked salmon club. He was very happy. Our two older children split the flatbread pizza, which was more than enough for a two and four year old. Other party members had an eggs Benedict dish, the clam chowder and the monte Cristo sandwich. Everyone was happy with their dishes. The view was beautiful, and the restaurant was quiet and calm. This may be my new favorite restaurant. Classy place, with casual dress. First I noticed the charmingly arranged plants, rocks, wood and mini waterfall at the entrance. Inside I was struck by natural beauty items in the decor. Seated by a window viewing not only the ocean through the trees, but romantic plants and walkway. Glass art in the water glasses and candleholders. So much to love. Menu offerings sound so thoughtfully prepared with unusual ingredients. Arriving at 3:30, only appetizers were available Luckily, we chose the Dungeness toast and Louisiana style barbeque prawns. And the prize-winning delectable clam chowder in unusual bowls was an instant favorite. Piano music played but we could still enjoy quiet conversation. We finished with marionberry cobbler and their version of a chocolate sundae. We'll be back. After we save up for another somewhat pricey but delightful meal. Someone with thoughtful care has created this memorable experience, perfect for that most special occasion. read more

Not impressed! Based on yelp reviews I thought I would treat my wife to a nice brunch. The restaurant/view is beautiful, but spending $19 per plate (for breakfast) for mediocre food was disappointing. We were looking forward to the Dungeness pancakes...they ran out! My wife's eggs were undercooked. The egg whites were extremely runny. My over medium eggs were over cooked. We would have returned both but the service was too slow. I won't go into coffee and tea refills or water. Hoping we just caught them on a bad day. read more

My wife and I had great meals at the restaurant before it burned and were anxious to return after the rebuild. The essence of the old restaurant has been reborn in the new building. The food quality isn't quite back. There used to be a fried razor clam on the menu that was tender and delicious. Now there are clam fritters; typical fritters of more filler than clam. I had a dinner special of lobster and linguine. The lobster was plentiful but flavorless and the linguine came with what seemed like a Kraft mac and cheese sauce. Less than I expected for a $30+ dinner. Curiously the chef favored the attractive ladies at the next table by personally serving one person two full lobster tails - something I would have liked if it had been on the menu. My wife had scampi and declared it 'typical '. Nothing special. However, we both agreed the smoked duck breast salad was exceptional. And finally Grandma's clam chowder. While it may be the same recipe since 1953, it's different than the last time I had it. Maybe it's like my Grandmother's cooking,, over the years it just wasn't the same or as good as it once was. read more

There are not many options of eateries in his area, but we enjoyed a delicious, moderately priced meal in the lounge of the restaurant on a recent trip to Moclips. The server, Ryan, was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the mixed green salad, chèvre salad and mussels in coconut milk. The salads were fresh and featured toasted hazelnuts, roasted pear and a yummy mint dressing. The mussels were tender and the broth was perfect for dipping the asiago cheese bread. The hubby and I and another couple enjoyed a fabulous dinner after sunset so the windows were more like mirrors on the inky black ocean. Nonetheless, the tableau of food in front of us was breathtaking, and it tasted as good as it looked. The wine list included wines from Maryhill, an eastern Washington vineyard, and when I saw Albariño by the glass, I knew I would be ordering an entree to coordinate. I settled on a vegan curry, which might be boring at the hands of another chef but was zingy and delicious here. My husband enjoyed "thinguine" with crab sauce, a housemade thin linguine that was divine. The loaded mashed potatoes across the table looked similarly decadent. We also shared a locally foraged mushroom app and a marionberry cobbler for dessert, evidence the chef takes advantage of fresh, local ingredients. Staff here is horribly rude. Food is subpar and overpriced. The older gentleman at the front desk seems to think he's working at a five star resort. If you want comparable food the drive down to Oyhut Bay Grille is well worth it for better treatment and quality of food. Would recommend skipping this one. read more

Modest restaurant with spectacular views and fabulous food! The crab cottage cheese pancakes are to die for. Also enjoyed the eggs Benedict. Dinner was salmon in a maple balsamic reduction and gorgonzola mashed potatos. The creme Brule was divine. My friend had the cumin orange BbQ shrimp ....also delicious with bold flavor.
