Ocean Buffet is ... well, a cheap buffet. Buffet's that charge 11 bucks for dinner don't have the highest food quality, but Ocean Buffet's food isn't terrible. There's a pretty wide selection of food and they have a sushi bar, which is part of the all you can eat. Would I go again? I don't know, probably not -- I felt pretty miserable afterwards because the food wasn't the highest of quality but it did fill my stomach up to the brim for just 11 bucks, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars. If they charged me $20 for a dinner buffet and served the same quality of food, I would have given this place 2 stars. Mostly your typical Asian buffet but a solid performance, I will being going back for lunch in the future or anytime I do a large amount of exercise. They have a sushi bar and a pretty awesome hibachi/mongolian style grill buffet. You walk up, make a plate, and hand it to the chef behind the bar to work their magic. So there is no true Hibachi like most people will think of it, which can be a disappointment since their building specifically says hibachi on the sign. Some of the items are hit or miss but everyone should be able to find something they like. We were seated promptly, the restaurant was clean and orderly. Also lunch was cheap! Since the family was staying for a week, we needed our Asian fix and what better way to do this than go to a buffet with lots of variety? Ocean Buffet is not far from the hotel and it's actually in front of two other hotels in the area and next to Walmart. It looks like a former Ryan's. The selections and variety were huge. There is a hibachi and sushi bar on the left hand side. There was even a soup section. I was surprised to see Korean hot soup as an option. The Korean community is quite huge here. There are lots of Korean restaurants in the area. There was even Bulgogi beef on the buffet! However, I heard the staff speak in Mandarin. The dessert section had a lot of variety. I liked the ice cream with the pina colada taste. The dishes, depending which one you choose could be a hit or miss. The fried shrimp was too salty, even the green beans (but we went for lunch the next day and it was perfect). The coconut shrimp is my favorite, along with the teriyaki chicken kabobs. Went here and tried to use a "discount card" purchased from my child's school. Let's just say although the name of the restaurant is clearly labeled on the card and location for a free meal, they still said "they don't accept it". Definitely unacceptable. Five stars as buffets go. This place is pretty busy which means the food is turning over frequently meaning fresh food. I love their green beans. Cooked but with a slight crunch still. Their Chinese food is as least as good probably better than say a place like Panda Express but without all the MSG. Never gotten a migraine after eating here(msg allergy) Dinner has different options than lunch with (couple nights ago) fried frog legs, and crawdads. Not only do they have 6 buffet tables stocked with hot foods, salad stuff, cold fresh foods, and desserts but they also have sushi and hibachi available! We took our son here after graduating from basic training and it was a great choice. Our entire party of seven enjoyed so many wonderful dishes. The cilantro chicken was new to us and we loved it. I wanted to do the hibachi grill but there were so many delicious dishes already prepared, I did not have room to fit it in. Today, the food was as good as it ever can be until twenty marijuana smokers arrived, and they all smelled like dead skunks, filling the place with a real offensive oder! At first I thought it was my shrimp, until one walked by me, and he almost made me toss my cookies there and then. I've had people come to my place of business smelling like that, and I tell em not to come in like that, or their would be a police car waiting outside. It's pretty bad when people smoke that wacky weed, and walk around unaware, they stink so bad like that, you have to keep a can of air de-orderant to clear the air from standing there smelling that bad. I visited Ocean Buffet during a lunch time period. I was initially impressed with the surroundings and openness of the area. The buffet is set up quite good and the selection is quite grand. However I was disappointed with the lack of selection at the Hibachi and Sushi areas. The buffet itself although plentiful and large, many of the foods lacked in satisfying flavour and most of the food temperature was no longer acceptable, being too cold. The pricing was acceptable for the large selection but it falls flat on its poor taste and cold food. Dessert selection was almost as big as the main courses selection and was impressive featuring traditional dessert choices including even soft ice cream from a machine. All in all I was disappointed by the poor flavour presented by the meals and I cannot really suggest going here if you are looking for food that has its own taste, seeing as everything basically tastes the same here. I give it a 3-Star rating for its good surroundings and selection, if it tasted better could've reached a 4 or even 5. read more

Greeters were friendly and I was seated right away at my choice of tables. I ended up trying just a little of lots of things. Very Good: Mongolian beef Fried zucchini was amazing Green bean, nice and crunchy! Black pepper chicken Sushi bar Crab Rangoon Chicken hot wings Not so good: Sesame chicken was a little stringy Fried shrimp had great flavor, super crunchy batter. But, I think it had been frozen and thawed a few times as the shrimp was mushy. Calamari was very, very tough. Except for the shrimp and calamari, they would have been a 4, but they were at the end of the meal and was the last things I ate. Service was great and my sweet tea never even approached empty. This buffet is humongous! I did not expect such a large place at such a small area. I like the hibachi grill there as well. They do make sure to point out that the steak on the hibachi grill line does cost more. They are very blunt when they tell you. Maybe they have had some arguments about that. I would recommend that the steak be set aside or a sign placed in the actual steak stating that it is extra. I do pay the extra for it as it is yummy! read more

We are visiting my pregnant sister here in Missouri. We went here last night because she had been there in the past and liked it. The food was not freshly made at all and everyone in our family by the time we got home was sick as dogs and had food poisoning , including my 9 months pregnant sister! Horrible experience.
