Only good thing is they have a branch in the Costco parking lot. Low saving rates. When you call their # you get a call center. You make a reservation via the call center, you show up and they don't have it so you have to sit and wait. Nobody know what the whole picture is. It is always I have to talk to one of the other minions. I have auto pay on the last day of the month and it gets posted 3 days later. Hence they use my money for that time and I don't get interest. I didn't sign up for e-statements, hence I didn't get a 199Inst statement via USPS. Need I go on? read more

I want to thank Kaitlynn Reavis for helping me get all my finances switched over to OCCU. I've been with Chase (since before they were Chase) and Honda credit union. But OCCU makes my banking needs so much more convenient with way better interest rates and savings plans. The locations are better for me as well, for I live in Eugene. Let me say I was with HONDA credit union for 29 years and will now be all in with OCCU. Kaitlynn made me feel like family and really went out of her way to explain in detail, the benefits OCCU offer to its members. It was a easy no brainer. I'm probably not suppose to write this, but let's be honest. The traditional banks, in my opinion, are out to make as much money as possible. OCCU wants to put as much back into your account and the friendly staff make it so much better. The traditional bank treats you like a number and a burden. Kaitlynn treated me like a family member! It was an awesome experience and I will be doing all my banking with OCCU now. My parents and wife all bank with OCCU. They have been telling me to switch for 7 years. I was stubborn. Looking back, I lost a boat load of money in those 7 years w/almost zero percent interest from Chase and Honda. Now I'm getting over 5 percent! Man, I should of listened to my wife. I have been a member of OCCU since the 70s. It is so poorly run and those dealing with me have gone dreadfully downhill over the years so that I am eager to be rid of them. I have a five year CD that matures tomorrow and as usual they have made it very difficult to move my money out. First they told me they are not able to do wire transfers (of course they actually are able but I had to do a lot to get there), then Michelle Gormley did not respond to three emails and did not return my phone calls. Going in through the main number takes a LOT of time holding. The obvious goal is to get my money to rollover so they can keep it. Michelle told me somehow my member account got closed so she had to open another account to move the CD money into. Then I received a mail welcoming me to OCCU and thanking me for signing up. Typical. No one seems to know what anyone else there is doing. Michelle said it is not possible to tell me my CD balance until tomorrow. I need the full balance to wire the money elsewhere. I have had CDs in many other CUs and banks that have been able to tell me my balance the day before maturity. Part of the obstacle course. There are lots of better places for your business. read more

Lets just say they are not willing to own up to any mistakes their customer service is only good at counter but for important issues forget it! They messed us over, stopped our credit cards that we never missed a payment on ever, was unwilling to work with us with a mistake on our accout I don't trust them and years back we got hit overseas lost allot of money come to find out it was an iside job, we got our money back but had to pay fees how does that work? Seriously!! we happen to be locked in with a good interest rate on our vehicle loan and would be stupid to transfer it but as soon as it is paid off we are never comeing back! We hate that we have to work with them. We don't trust them! So we are trying to pay things off as quick as possible! People may see good reviews at this branch but look across the board at other branches and look through the reviews and you will see what I'm talking about, bank with them at your own risk! read more

I recently switched my checking and savings accounts to OCCU and I am so glad I did. I previously had two car loans with them. The account opening was easy and the person who helped us was so friendly. When I have called, my questions have been quickly and accurately answered by someone local, not someone 3000 miles away in a call center. The app just got an update, it works great, as does the website. The branch is five minutes from my current and future home. I have banked with Oregon Community Credit Union for 3 months. During this three months, they have: 1) Forgotten to mail me a debit card. I ended up having to call their head office to get one mailed. 2) Set up my account up so that overdrafting was impossible. They overdrafted me and charged me for it anyways. 3) Been generally rude and unhelpful, excluding one specific employee, a young Asian gentleman who seems to be the only person at their office who cares about doing a good job. I will be changing banks as soon as I have my account settled. This is an awful bank, and you shouldn't waste your time or money with them. read more

I went in to pull cash out of my duck card and spoke to the teller Eric who was informative, helpful and very polite when explaining things to me that I previously did not understand but in order to do what I wanted to do he mentioned that it would be good idea to open up a savings account or apply for a new loan which is when he checked me in and with in just another minute or two I had the pleasure of meeting Will. Very professional was my impression because both Eric and Will greeted me with a smile and addressed me by name on more then two occasions, While dealing with Will we decided to only open a new savings account so I finished that part up with the friendly and outgoing Will as I continued to be very impressed. I was thinking on how bummed out they must be to have to work 4th of July weekend and how both Eric and Will had positive vibes and they continued to smile even laugh during our interaction and it was nice to see them both wearing they're name tags as I like to know who I am dealing with. So.... back at the teller row waiting in line for the next available teller to finish helping me out with my current financial needs the next available teller was "Sue" for which I had to ask her name at the end of our interaction because she had no name tag nor did she introduce her self to me as I kept thinking to myself, did this person just come off the street and walk in behind the counter? As soon as I let "Sue" know what I would like to do she instantly became irritated, sighed and mumbled a few choice words under her tongue for which I chose to ignore and made it very clear she did not want to be there helping me today. I still did not understand why I could not do what I wanted so when I asked a couple of more questions she replied in a condescending demeanor. "Sue" and her actions at the end of our interaction pretty much made me feel like she was saying to "F" off as she took both my driver license and duck card and slammed them down just a little to close to me as if to "shoo! go away already" so if you wanted to be treated like a stray cat by a teller go to the Santa Clara branch and see "Sue" if that's her real name. So... back to the beginning for which I should have just listened to Eric in the first place and open up that extra line of credit to be able to do what I wanted to do. I waited there for about five more minutes while Will was finishing up with other members, little did I know how good of a multi-tasker he is that he already finished up paper work approving me for a new loan and almost counteracted how I was just treated by this "Sue" lady that left a foul taste in my mouth about my whole time spent there. Teller Eric and Loan officer Will both get 5 out of 5 stars for professionalism. As a branch they drop from 5 to 1 star because of how "Sue" interacted with me. I noticed she smiled and had good interactions with other members while I was waiting so I definitely was given a fare impression that she was judgemental about me for whatever reason I don't care. I was thinking about closing all my stuff with my main credit union and just bringing all my loans,savings,checking and even applying for a mortgage or HELOC but the Santa Clara branch would be my main branch that I would go to. Will almost had me convinced to switch over to OCCU for all of my financial needs but I don't want to walk in and do business with people who don't identify themselves and don't treat people respectfully with 100% accuracy. read more
