I took some bracelets to get fixed. The owner Liana was disrespectful with my bracelets. I told her my two bracelets were sacred & special because one my mom made for me before she passed, and the other was from a Shaman ceremony. So she fixed them and did a lousy job, almost ruined them. Now they're falling apart! Also she charged me $80 because she decided to put Gold filled claps that I did not ask for, I just wanted regular clasps, but I wanted a good job done, and I wanted my bracelets treated with care & respect. She was very careless, one is de threading. I'm not going back there again. She doesn't seem to have respect for anything that is sacred. She also painted over a beautiful mural that a talented muralist Artist had painted, of Kobe Bryant and his daughter. That mural was sacred to a lot of people in the area for many reasons: First because both Kobe and his daughter died in that plane crash, also because they both lived in Orange County and third because it was beautiful and had become iconic for locals. She gave it no thought, just gone. This has made a lot of people mad. read more

I stopped by OC Beads today and ended up having such a great experience that I had to leave a review. The people there are incredibly kind and welcoming, and the selection is unreal. They truly have everything you could imagine and then some. I worked with a gentleman named Adam, who is insanely talented and has an amazing eye. He helped me put together a beautiful bead combination for a jacket I'm working on, and the result was better than I even pictured. I can't say enough good things about this place. We love the new owner of OC Beads, Liana, she's a beautiful ray of sunshine. She greets you with a warm smile and is always ready to please. We enjoy creating pieces there, and Liana and her staff are always so accommodating. They also do a fantastic job of repairing jewelry at a cost effective price. As for the negative comments about the removal of the Kobe Bryant mural, people have no right to criticize her decision. As a new owner, she has every right to improve her building and promote her business. The mural had nothing to do with her store, she needs to advertise her own brand. A memorial mural for Kobe can certainly be created elsewhere, in a space not tied to a private business. Until you own a business yourself, you may not fully understand the decisions an owner must make. Liana is extremely classy, and whatever she chooses to do to enhance her building, there's no doubt it will be beautiful. People need to respect her choices and mind their own business. read more

Came in looking for some good deals on beads and this place was NOT it.. it's expensive but the variety is immense and the owner is friendly and approachable enough that you may ask for specific beads you're looking for. I saw a few beads that were almost twice the price as Etsy, and I thought Etsy was pricey. It's definitely 'Dana Point prices'. If you've got money to burn, and only making a few little things, this place would be perfect. But not for starving artists like myself. I am better off in LA in the fashion district. I did find some beads I haven't quite seen in awhile. It looks like they offer classes as well, might be worth checking out for the locals. read more

I was creatively stumped. My daughter wanted to use the earrings I wore at my wedding as buttons on her wedding gown. Mishi looked at them, took about 30 seconds and said "Why don't we try this?" This is such a beautiful store. I went here for the first time with my friend while we were visiting and we absolutely adored the personality and character this store has. This bead shop absolutely blew me away. I didn't expect it to be as incredible as it truly is. Ive been to many bead stores throughout the years and feel this place is really special and has such high quality offerings and is meticulously organized. What I loved the most is that they had amazing quality Gemstone beads in a variety of cuts and sizes (Labradorite, moonstone, lapis, amethyst, rose quartz..etc.) you name it they have it.. whether you want a more raw natural gemstone bead or smooth etc. Yes, it's definitely pricier..but that's because the quality is unmatched. A place like Hobby Lobby or Michaels can't compare. They had the most beautiful strand of Labradorite beads that I can't stop thinking about (the blue flash of the stones were so gorgeous) I purchased a smaller Labradorite bead strand but may have to go back for the bigger ones. I went in a few weeks ago to find a very thin chain for a Hamsa necklace I was trying to save. The woman (owner? not sure) was extremely helpful. She found the right size, the clasps, and created the necklace for me. Since she had all the tools, I found it very helpful.
