After looking at YELP and choosing Obsessed Salon, I was fortunate to meet Kayla and set up an appointment for full blonde highlights and a cut to help with my gray hair growing out. She was amazing and very good at listening to what I wanted and also giving suggestions when I asked. This review is a bit late, but better late than never! I made my appointment through their website and it was so user friendly and convenient (trust me, I'm usually a call or text kind of girl for these things) and I was able to get in just the next day. I saw Amy who is such a sweetheart, very knowledgeable and professional. I came to her with a grown out, blotchy, ombré attempt from months prior. After hiding my cheetah spot for so long, I was relieved with what Amy did to my hair. I trusted her with her recommendations and allowed her to kind of wing it. I wanted a better transition from roots to the body, with a more subtle blonde color and wanted it to look more natural instead of straight Barbie blonde. She gave me just that!! She styled it differently than what I'm used to, and even showed me techniques for the way she styled it. I do think it was a bit pricey but well worth it, I will definitely be back! read more

Got my hair cut by Kayla today and am satisfied! She does what you want and was really patient with me (& my inadept explanation of what I wanted). I had a hard time explaining what I wanted especially since it's not a common cut, but Kayla did her best accommodating me and explaining why she would recommend some things over others. Let me start by saying my hair was a hot mess. I was platinum and wanted my natural hair color (medium brown-ish) and didn't wait for my roots. Needless to say it was a bit dark. I called and was able to get in for a color correction consultation in a matter of days. Amy told me what it was going to take (hours and $$) and I trusted her plan. I ended up with Erin (another senior stylist) and Kayla (a trainee from another salon) and they were FANTASTIC! She knew exactly what Amy's plan was and it was executed flawlessly. I couldn't be more pleased with my first experience at Obssessed. This salon is a bit closer to my home and my current Aveda salon just kept raising their prices so I thought I'd give this a try when it opened. Amy did a fabulous job with my highlights and I am on day 2 with her style and it looks great! Michelle gave me a mini facial with microdermabrasion while I was processing and my skin feels fabulous. I purchased a peel package and am excited to see the results. The salon is every bit modern, spunky Aveda with a homey, neighborhood salon feel. I love that the sinks are in each station so you aren't being moved around a lot. They offer facial waxing, manis and pedis too, which for a busy working mom, is helpful to have one place I can frequent to handle nearly all my beauty needs. I'm thrilled to have found them! LONG OVERDUE! I got my hair balayage/ombre by Kelsey in January! I already knew that my hair wouldn't come out as light as I want it because my hair is dark. SHE DID AN AMAZING JOB. Very sweet and she has amazing eyelashes (which btw they do eyelashes service, one day I'll be going to her!) My boyfriend came in with me to get a haircut. We don't remember her name but she was very sweet and friendly as well. We came out very happy! We got a lot of compliments on our hair. I'm made an appointment here because there were so many good reviews, but they must all be from people who only come to get their nails done. I had an appointment with Amy to get my hair cut and colored. She barely greeted me when I came in even though hardly anyone was there. While coloring my hair she was almost done when a friend of hers came in to give her something. She stopped and talked to him for over ten minutes without saying a word to me or finishing, or mixing the dye she has started to mix. Didn't even apologize when she started again. Then she didn't listen to how I wanted my hair cut at all. I specifically said I wanted all the split ends cut off, and that I knew it would be hard to do that without cutting off a lot of length, but I wanted to keep as much as I can. I also brought up my bangs, showed her how I wore them, and that they probably needed a lot of work because I had been the only one cutting them for awhile. She took this to mean she should dry cut 1/2 an inch of just the back portion of my hair....and charge $25 for that. I finally got her to cut more so some of my split ends were dealt with, but when she tried cutting my bangs she kept brushing them at an angle with the dryer so that one side kept pooping up and not sitting correctly. Because of this my bangs were uneven. I had to ask her to cut that side 3 times to somewhat even it out. I'm not sure how I was able to see the problem but a trained hairstylist couldn't. The color looks great, but she was horrible. I don't think this place is known for their hair. The entire almost 3 hours I was there ( on a Saturday) no one else came in to get their hair cut. Just wanted to give a warning do someone doesn't make the same mistake as me and get fooled by the other good reviews that are probably for nails. Tons of old ladies were there getting their nails done. Update to Amy's reply: I'm not difficult when it comes to my hair, so you saying that means either you were just having a bad day and we're transferring that to me (super unprofessional) or you let your misperceptions color your actions towards me (also unprofessional). I did not blow up when you started drying my hair. You pulled out a hair dryer and I hesitantly asked if you weren't going to cut my hair. Yo replied that the two snips you did at the beginning were what you were considering a cut. Yes, obviously there was a miscommunication, but it was you not listening to me. There is no justification for you saying I was the issue. You should have apologized for the miscommunication and moved on. I did read the entire time. I hate making small talk and considering you didn't even greet me wen I first walked in because you were too busy on your phone gave me the impression you didn't care to talk to me either. Maybe you were just having a bad day, but I definitely suffered because of it. Also, when you reply to a negative review you should not be so defensive and once again continuously blame the customer. Just a tip for future bad reviews you get. read more
