I went to my first appointment. I made it clear I needed someone that was good at cutting hair. I was assured that if I was not satisfied they would correct it. How do you correct it? glue it back on? She was a sweet young lady that cut my hair. Stephany loved what she was doing. But sadly she does not know how to cut or style hair. I dont know how she passed the state boards. I do not know how the set up is at RX Salons. But if the owner is renting booths, they are just renting to get money not to getting qualifyed hair dressers. I would not even take $55 if you paid me to have it cut there. I would not go there if you gave me a lifetime of free service. Top prize for worst hair cut in years. A HOT MESS OF A HAIR CUT. Now I will have to deal with it for the next few weeks until it grows out and go somewhere else. You are taking a risk to go there and you could be paying a high price for regret. I went in for a cut and a color, but was charged an additional $30 because Sarah my hairstylist had to wash my hair before doing my color and haircut. I was also charged extra because I have thick hair, (but it's really not that thick!). Since when do salons charge extra because they have to wash your hair first? I thought this was standard practice in most salons. Sarah seemed bothered that I walked into the salon with a bit of temporary color on my crown, which I had used a few days prior to cover my grays. How am I supposed to know what products I am allowed to have on my hair when I walk into a salon, in order for the stylists to properly do their job? Further, my haircut was choppy, and she didn't really ask me how I wanted it to be cut. I asked for some layers and for a few inches to be cut off. It was layered before from my chin down to my shoulders, but the layers were not done that way this time. There were just a few very sloppy layers, and instead of cutting my hair in multiple layers, as good hairstylists do for people with thicker hair, the cut was done quickly and with large chunks of hair at a time. After Sarah cut and colored my hair, she had an associate dry my hair. She didn't bother to look at my hair after that to ask me if I was happy with it, and if we needed to make any changes to it. I don't feel it's right for a hairdresser to walk away from their client before the client's hair is dried, as sometimes additional changes need to be made once the hair is dry. Before coming to this salon, I saw a hairdresser who was meticulous about his haircuts. He would spend an hour carefully cutting every single layer of my hair, blow drying it, and then cutting a little more after it was dry to make it look perfect. He charged the same price as Sarah ($75 minus the extra cost for having to shampoo my hair and for having extra hair - so in reality, he was cheaper,) but he spent a lot of more time making sure to create a thoughtful, stylish haircut, and to make sure it was what I really wanted. For $75 plus $30 plus another $20 something for having thick hair, on top of paying $70-something to have my roots colored, this felt like way too much for the quality of haircut that I got. I wasn't even told that I would be charged extra for the shampoo or for having thicker hair. Honestly, it feels like a reflection of how society is these days. Everything is done fast, and without caring much about the quality of one's work. I will not be coming back. read more

I recently moved into the neighborhood and was in need of a new stylist who specialized in long hair. I read a ton of great reviews about Hair Rx so I called to set up an appointment. I made sure to request a stylist who specialized in long hair as I am a person whose hair goes all the way down their back and understand how difficult it can be to tackle such an immense amount of hair. Unfortunately I did not meet my match. Although I showed them several pictures of what I wanted, I left my appointment with a different look & was very disappointeded. I called in shortly after and asked if anyone could fix me up. To my surprise they were incredibly understanding and considerate and were able to schedule me a few weeks out with one of their most experienced stylists. I haven't experienced many salons be as willing to make things right as Hair Rx was. This really pleased me. The receptionist asked me a few questions & explained that I'd be getting a whole new hair cut as that was what was necessary to fix my hair. Upon arriving to my second appointment, I anticipated just that. A whole new cut. My new stylist seemed a bit confused when I arrived and did not seem prepared to give me a full cut. She was crazy busy and unfortunately rushed through my appointment ): My hair did look better when I left but she took off much more than I wanted and didn't check in with me through out the appointment because she was moving so quickly and was hyperfocused on getting my hair done. I imagine this time constraint affected her customer service as well because it wasn't exactly the friendliest experience either. After waiting almost 3 weeks to get my hair fixed, I would have been glad to wait a little longer to get my time in the chair. I've set up another appointment with the same stylist with the hope that I will have a better experience & leave feeling care free & confident so that I can refer Hair Rx to my friends and family. read more

They do not own up to their mistakes. I came in, needing a decolorization, in which they did. What they also did was wash my hair in shampoo and scrubbed my hair like it was a washcloth, leaving my fine, blonde hair Extremely tangled. If they were experienced enough, they would know to wash fine blonde hair gently and in a downward motion, even I know that, and I'm not a hair dresser. I spent an hour and a half sitting in the chair as they yanked, pulled, and Cut the knots out if my hair. And I endured this all at their demand, as I requested to just brush the knots out myself. I also missed work because of their incompetency and error, and keeping me in the chair for a total of Three hours; which is ridiculous, for a simple process and conditioning treatment. Speaking of the conditioning treatment, in which they convinced me to get without disclosing the cost, cost me $60; for a "Conditioning treatment". Ridiculous. When I was checking out, I requested to speak with the manager, in which they said she had left for the day. So I requested that the manager give me a call. They said she would call me, and so I paid for the services and left. I never received a call from the manager, even after leaving numerous voicemails. So I ended up filing a charge dispute with my credit card, in which I received this reply from HairRX: (photo attached) This establishment is truly unprofessional, they lie, they're not skilled, and they steal your money. Save your time and money and Hair, and go somewhere else. Patric's color room is awesome, btw, and he's prices are very fair, especially compared to this joke of a salon. read more

No one has genuinely taken the time to see how my hair lays as they're cutting, seeing how it shapes my face. Instead they just cut, texturize and send you on your way. The last cut I got is to short on the top, longer on the sides and over texturized. Looks like she just pulled my hair out to a 90 degree all over and tapered the back. read more

I honestly have never experienced this type of hair outcome so I don't know where to begin so I'll just give you a review of my experience.  Ash came highly recommended to me by one of her customers. I can't say enough about how kind Ash is and how hard she works but I will only tell you the facts of my experience.  My appointment was scheduled for 12pm and Ash did not sit me in her chair until 12:38pm. After she did my color consultation I was concerned. I typically do a balayage but I was wanting to be lighter than my hair stylist was getting me. I still do not know what method Ash decided to use. I wouldn't call it balayage or highlights. She used foils all over. I don't think I gave Ash enough direction or communicated exactly what I wanted and I could tell there was some confusion so I take responsibility for that. I did find a picture and show her and she went back and mixed color. She told me my price would be $275. She admits that her manager asked "will this be a difficult color for you"? And Ash responded "yes because her hair is already beautiful so I'll have to try my best and follow her last stylists techniques" but Ash didn't tell me about this conversation until I had a full head of foils. If she would have made that comment to me I would have left.  The salon was busy. And Ash was already running late to start my hair. When we went to wash my hair there was no warm water. The water was ice cold. My favorite part of getting my hair done is relaxing and having a nice hot hair rinse and head scrub. All the stylists were like "hmm that's weird our dryer is broke too so maybe something happened when fixing that" "maybe the pilot went out" regardless it wasn't pleasant. Then Ash realized she had run out of time and gave me a quick cut. My cut is very choppy and not blended. She asked literally 4 people if they could blow my hair out and one agreed and then declined and said she had to go. Finally we found someone to blow me out. No style. Just a blow out. My hair looked destroyed. White and grey and yellow and I was horrified. Ash knew it wasn't right and kept asking how I felt about it. She had to let someone else blow me out so she could start on her next client. I didn't know what to say. I wanted to cry. She told me she knew there was a piece of my hair that looked "weird" and she wished she had time to throw a foil in it and that she knew I needed to be toned again and she didn't have time. You guys charged me $275 and I gave a $10 tip. I spent $285 and now I'm wondering what to do because I can't go to work like this. I'm really sad that I gave someone new a chance. Ash scheduled me to come back next Wednesday to fix the "weird" spot and tone my hair. But I can't walk around like this for a week? I have a big event tomorrow and a very special occasion next Thursday. I don't know what to do. I really want my money back so I can go get this fixed but I feel so bad. I think Ash was just overwhelmed. I wish she would have told me she wasn't comfortable with this type of color. read more

Not a good Ambassador location for Wigs For Kids. I was so excited to finally cut my hair and donate it. I looked up Ambassador locations and live 25 minutes away. I purposely chose this location because it was listed as an Ambassador location for Wigs For Kids. I was 15 minutes late for my hair appointment, but Alyssa rejected me right away and said she can't take me because she has back to back hair cuts. My stylist was friendly but not chatty, which I can appreciate as it felt like she was paying great attention to what she was doing to my hair. So I decided to sit quietly and enjoy the experience, and that I did! Wonderful head massage while shampooing, quick 5 min convo of what I was looking to have done, and then the Zen of someone combing, cutting, parting, separating, clipping, styling and drying. My first time here! I had another stylist I loved but due to a friendship divorce, she got the stylist and I had to figure out another place to go. (Please don't think it has ANYTHING to do with my previous stylist; it's just girl code) I saw the reviews on Google and here, and decided to give this place a try and scheduled an appointment with Serene. She was AMAZING. I expressed my concern that my roots hold on to color like crazy and the rest of my hair looks like a different color, but I also don't think I can pull off the fire engine red look. Tried this place for my daughter as we just moved here. I scheduled my daughter for a bang trim and wax. Two easy things for someone who has there cosmetology license. My daughters bangs looked like crap(thank god I didn't have them trim her hair). Her eyebrows were red and looked like they didn't wax anything but instead give her a nice red forehead. Never had this experience before! They are cheap but I don't think it was worth $1 as I brought her home and trimmed her bangs myself and had to take her elsewhere for waxing. Needless to say I'm very disappointed and a little concerned why this establishment has good reviews? Maybe my daughter got a newbie? I don't know but I'm better at cutting hair than the lady that trimmed my daughters bang and that's sad! read more

I was impressed with my hair stylist attention for detail. She was very welcoming and ask me questions to get to know my needs and style like I'd been there for years. I be since been back and Alissa has highlighted my hair like it hasn't been in a long time. I can't tell you how my husband just loves my new bright and beautiful color. I really wanted to like this place after all the positive reviews. I got a haircut from Roxie a few weeks ago. I've walked around with my left side longer than my right. Because I've been so busy I haven't had a chance to get in for her to fix it until today. Well it's worse!!!! At the time it looked good so I went on my way. It wasn't until I got home that I saw this crap. Unbelievable. I don't want to go back again, for a 3rd time, so I'll have to go somewhere new but I will be sending this place the bill.
