Lots of meat!
Jay S.

Second review since I am trying a few different things. The meat is very good rotating in front of my eyes. They shaved the meat and put it on the grill to add a little smokeyness. Falafel is also extremely good. As far as price and value, extremely good. You can share a plate no problem. Parking is an issue.

Huge portions for the price. Flavor wise it just isn't even in my top 5 for local wraps/ shawarma. I prefer Halal guys over this spot: Hot sauce was decent, same with the fries.

Prior to last night's order I would've easily given Oasis a five out of five review, but unfortunately, the meals that my wife and I received for the first time were off. We have been coming to this location off and on for over two years and at one point, viewed this place to have the absolute best Mediterranean cuisine in Oakland. We've always ordered the Shawarma combo plate, which has always been filled with excellent lamb, beef, chicken, hummus, rice, and was cooked to perfection. Unfortunately, last night was different. Among the first things that I noticed was the sauce that usually is more on the wider side looks more like a gravy brown and was nowhere near the same quality as usual. In addition to that, the food itself had a very gas fume like sent that accompanied it. The food did not taste anywhere near as good as it usually does, but it also wasn't horrible. The main problem I had was that it literally got to a point for us that we could no longer eat it as it was, and had to incorporate other sauces to make up for the lack of flavor and the overwhelming amount of cookware like taste. I also don't know if this is what cleared me out this morning. It's totally possible that given we ordered this not too far from closing. This was a rush job or they gathered what they had sitting in the back and use that to produce the dishes. We've had too many good meals here to not give them the benefit of the doubt. It's just unfortunate that we didn't get the same high-quality of food that we usually get here this time around. I can say from our previous experience is here that we've never had a bad one. The people have always been friendly, the place itself has always had a great energy and respectful nature to it, and they're always on time when it comes to their guesstimate of when you should come in and get your meal. I know that we will definitely be back there sooner than later, and holding out hopes that the next time we return, the food will be as great as it usually is. But until then, I will acknowledge this blemish and write them a very high 4/5.

Truly my favorite food to order on door dash! The portion sizes are unhinged! Be prepared for several meals! The meats are ridiculously flavorful. I personally love the shawarma plates. They come loaded up with hummus, taziki, tabouli, and some yummy cabbage mix. My boyfriend ordered a side of fries and a shawarma wrap, which was also both huge. The wrap was at least a foot long. I love Oasis Kitchen!

Lamb wrap

Total hole in the wall place. Much better than expected. The only issue I have with this place is they have indoor seating, but it's really hot in the restaurant. It wasn't totally unbearable so we ate inside. We ordered the lamb wrap. It's huge, but enough to share. It was chuck full of meat, you really get your money's worth. Everything is made fresh so it takes few minutes to get your order.

Falafel in the back, kofta-front

This place is a sleeper... not too many people know about it, but there are some real standouts here! Most sides are bomb: Tzatziki- thick, rich yogurt. Nicely spiced and balanced Hummus- not your smooth af store bought stuff.. little grainy, but bursting with garlic/lemon/ tahini goodness. Baba ganoush- smoky, nice chunks of blistered eggplant, great flavor Falafel- well seasoned chickpea fritters! Open the box of to go falafel and the whole kitchen erupted with aroma. These things are so good! Kofta- little dry, but the middle eastern spice mix in there helps you forget the dryness. Drizzle the tatztiki on Overall, everything is tasty and well priced for the portion you get. Check it out! Sorry for the pics, they don't do the place justice

Good food. Big portions. Reasonable prices. Great service! I'll definitely be back to try other things on the menu.

First time here amazing customer service! The best Mediterranean food I have ever had 10/10 good portion sizes & everything tastes so fresh! I was so impressed I ordered the chicken kabob plate, I will be back again!!

Love this spot! They have a good variety for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. Their portions are consistently generous (I usually make two meals out of one plate of food!) and the flavor is great. Cashier is always polite and friendly as well.

I've been looking for good chicken shawarma in the east Bay. It isn't here! The baba ghanoush was pretty good. Hummus was so so.

I ordered on uber eats and the restaurant was running a buy one get one free promotion. I'm by myself and didn't want double servings and marked it down to one wrap. The restaurant still gave me two! Given the portion sizes, it's going to be four meals. The food is great so happy to eat it repeatedly but just really shocked at them giving me two despite my putting one. Incredible service and integrity -- definitely will order here every time I'm in town based on this experience!

Seeing the prices increase over the years hurts but I understand - it's the economy. With that said, it's really important to manage your online menu correctly. Currently on DoorDash the curly fries are $5.50 as an add on if you order their bowls. If you order the fries as a side they always charged a dollar extra over the years. Annoying but your prerogative. Currently, for weeks, a side of fries are double the price. The curly fries are $12.94. I've worked in a restaurant and managed the DoorDash kiosk. They need to adjust the pricing in the kiosk. I'm assuming that no one has gone into the restaurant and shared that they are overcharging customers. I called their phone number but it's some automated Ai service that says DoorDash manages the menus. That is not true. Why would DoorDash manage menu pricing for all of the restaurants on their platform? That would be crazy. Ai isn't perfect but I'm not even able to leave a voice message to let them know. Like I said, their menu has been like this for weeks. Unfortunately I have to deny myself of my yummy favs and not patronize your restaurant until you all get it together. Respectfully. I will update my review when the menu is fixed. I don't want to forever negatively affect your restaurant.

We ordered a mini lamb wrap, mini chicken wrap, rose tamarind drink and mint lemonade. The lamb was gristly and dry, so I preferred the chicken wrap, but was disappointed to find that it featured only chicken (well-seasoned and juicy) and did not have any tomatoes, cucumbers, or other vegetables like the lamb wrap did. The chicken wrap was only chicken and lavash. Perhaps it was an oversight on the staff's part, even though the restaurant was not busy during a Friday lunch. And it also still took some time to get our orders out even though we were the only ones in line and there were only two other parties eating there. Maybe there were tons of to-go orders they had to fulfill? I'll be sure to check out the Santa Clara location as well in the future, but for this luncheon, we had to temper our disappointment by going around the corner to get some Gregory's.

It's in the same little plaza as Dona. We ordered two items - a chicken wrap and the chicken tagine. Let me tell you, the wrap was full of pickled goodness. I loved the pickled veggies so much - perfectly tart and crispy that complemented the warm wrap and marinated chicken. The juices that kept dripping from both the pickled veggies and the juicy chicken was so flavorful that I would take bites from my wrap and try to use the drippings as a dipping sauce. I could probably get extra pita bread just to lap up the extra juice drippings. The chicken tagine, however, was a bit bland. Maybe it was an off day, but we didn't enjoy it as much as the wrap. The couscous was the smaller version and slightly dry.
