    Steak Stawerma Bowl (Ubereats Order)
    Jennifer T.

Overall: 4.5/5 This was an Ubereats order. The order was made very quickly and pick up was easy. Food presentation was very pretty for a to-go order. Loved the side of hot sauce they provided as well. We ordered the Steak Stawerma Bowl and it was very good!

Falafel boy has become a weekly stop for my parents, and I'm always so excited when I can join. My dad is a notorious falafel/shawarma lover, so he doesn't dole out compliments lightly. He/we love FB! Our go-to has been the halloumi eggplant wrap - amazing. Their wraps on thin lavash are so flavorful. We've tried them all - favorite wraps are the halloumi eggplant and beef kofta. Service is always fast and friendly. We ordered to-go or sit outside on the patio with our dog. We never have an issue with street parking. All in all, a neighborhood fave.

Icome to Falafel Boy at least twice a month and usually love their food. I ordered the buy one get one free chicken bowl special, but while eating my second bowl today, I noticed what looked like fish mixed into my chicken bowl. This was definitely not chicken. I called because if someone had a fish allergy, this could've been serious. They asked me to come down there to show them, and said they never received the pictures I sent, so I'm posting them here instead. Really disappointed -- this is not okay, and unfortunately they lost my business.

Shawarmaji may be the better one of the two. I do like the easy ordering system using the kiosk. The food didn't take long to come out either. The food was more on the dry side. Flavors weren't lacking but Shawarmaji tasted better overall to me.

I've been coming here for couple years now and it never disappoints me. I always call in to place my order and it's ready to pick up in 10 minutes. The food tastes fresh and the service is excellent. Recommend the Chicken shawarma bowl 1/2 rice 1/2 salad. It's honestly a 10/10 meal especially if you're hungry. The vibes feel like a hole in the wall restaurant. You're welcome to eat at the few tables they have inside and outside of the restaurant. Food: 10/10 Service: 9/10 Vibes: 5/10

Food is good but prices have gotten completely out of hand. It feels like the price of a wrap has increased 30-40% over a period of 2-3 years. $15 for a chicken wrap is crazy. Also would not honor BOGO coupon in Uber eats app. Go to Shawarmaji.

Nice spot, so close to my workshop. Last time I came here, I didn't like it so much. But this time it was fine. I ordered my food online and walked down to pick it up. Luckily for us (I ordered for a co-worker and myself), they had plenty of gluten free options to choose from. I got a couple of salads which were good and filling. The people who work there were nice and welcoming. They were working on my order as I arrived. I was ab le to pick it up easily. It's a tight spot where they are located, so there really isn't room to eat inside. They had some chairs outside, but with the cold weather that wouldn't be an option. Luckily they were half a block down or so from where my meeting was. I didn't have a car with me to drive anywhere. I wanted to go further away, but I'm glad that I didn't. The food here was fine and while I have another place I like more for Mediterranean food, if in the area and I needed a quick healthyish bite, this isn't a bad spot for that.

Lamb and beef shawerma bowl (salad), grilled haloumi cheese wrap
    Sydney J.

This review encompasses two visits, I ordered the grilled haloumi cheese wrap the first time, and the grilled haloumi cheese plate the second time, both for takeout. The food was ready quickly both times, with compostable containers and utensils provided, and while the prices for the food are a bit higher than what I normally go for, the quantity is actually huge. Typically I can make close to 2 meals out of one takeout order, but with Falafel Boy, I think I could actually make it last 3 meals. I felt both the cheese plate and the wrap were quite good. The halloumi cheese is very dense, thick, and has a strong sour flavor (it's a goat or sheep milk based cheese), so some may not like it, although mixing it with some of the plainer ingredients like the cabbage slaw, eggplant, or hummus can help balance out the flavor. I don't even like cabbage or eggplant but I think they did a good job with the ratios/quantities of the different ingredients. The pita was also pretty good, firm but not too hard. The main difference between the grilled haloumi cheese plate vs. the bowl is that the plate also includes cabbage slaw, pita bread, and turmeric rice. My partner has had the lamb and beef shawerma bowl and the lamb and beef shawerma plate, so I included those in the photos in case anyone is curious. I tried a bit of the meat which is more on the tough side but otherwise good.

I got this to go when I was working in office. It was the first place I saw that was closest and had vegetarian food. I was glad I got food here as it turned out to be really good. I got the Vegan Plate as I read other reviews saying that it was the bang for your buck. The best part of this plate was the cauliflower. Not sure if it was the seasoning or the char on it, but it just tasted great. The Falafel was Falawfully good too! Def would reorder this too. I also got a side of fries for an extra $2.50. I'm not sure what they do to the fries, but these were some of the best french fries i've had. It was dangerous eating them because I could've ate them all day. This will be my go to spot every time I got into office at Lake Merritt.

The food is spectacular, there are a lot of options for you to pick from and for all dietary restrictions. There's even small options for some who just want to "dip their toe" into the Lebanese-Mediterranean food world. The portions are pretty grand and a plate, bowl, or shawerma can be split among two, great array of desserts, take homes, and drinks. I had the Steak Shawerma and it was super tasty. The service itself is quick and our servers were so kind and accommodating, we asked for seating inside they offered it, they remembered our orders by person and even gave us some foil to take home our leftovers. It's a pretty great hole in the wall decorated very nicely, it's a bit small so you might have to eat outdoors or wait outside for food. But I would definitely come back again with friends and recommending to family.

The food here is great. The portion sizes are decent; I almost feel like I'm getting my money's worth. (My brother treated me, and Bay Area places always feel too expensive to me.) It has a handy-dandy parklet, but said parklet is poorly furnished. They should have gone for three small tables instead of one small and one unwieldy large. This should be a four-star review, but they force you to order at a touchscreen. I have no idea why; it's a tiny place. If you're parking on the street on a Sunday evening, don't. My car's quarter panel got shattered, but the would-be thieves didn't actually steal anything; they just broke the window and reached in to see whether there was anything in my hatchback. Of course, there wasn't anything to steal; I've lived in San Francisco for twenty-one years. But apparently, breaking people's windows when THERE'S NOTHING IN THE CAR is something that Oakland thieves do. And here I thought San Francisco tweakers were the lowest of the low.

We started with the complimentary lentil soup, which was flavorful and comforting. I ordered the hummus and falafel. The hummus was light and delicious, and the falafel was the best I've ever had! It was fried to order and so crispy and hot that I've been thinking about it ever since. My family ordered the Greek salad, chicken pomegranate plate, and the berry mint lemonade, and we enjoyed all of it. We even found ourselves talking about my Lebanese grandmother, who passed away three years ago, and it was nice to feel brought together by the food. As a Disney nerd, I also love that WALL-E is named after Wally's! There's even a poster paying tribute to the film. My one drawback with this spot is the ambiance. While the staff was extremely friendly, there is very minimal seating, and it's attached to a bar. It's definitely loud and not the most family-friendly, so I would recommend ordering delivery or takeout. We actually ended up DoorDashing it for dinner the next day because it was that good! We will definitely be back!

Updating my review after my most recent experience. Still a 5-star experience, but I wanted to…read morecomment that I got a chance to try the Marhabah chorizo breakfast burrito side-by-side with my former favorite, the Juice Joint chorizo breakfast burrito. With extra cheese and a tip, the price was almost identical ($12.62 Marhabah vs $12.67 Juice Joint). The first thing you'll notice different about these two burritos is that the one from Marhabah is significantly bigger (see attached photo). The Marhabah burrito is also a lot greasier (it soaked the paper bag through its foil wrapping). That didn't bother me, but it's worth mentioning if you're someone who doesn't like their food to be too greasy. As far as flavor goes, honestly, it was so close that it's hard to decide, but I'm leaning in favor of the flavor of Marhabah's breakfast burrito because I love that the tortilla was kinda "pressed" like a panini (it wasn't squished, but it had those sexy, grill markings), and the vegetables in the Marhabah added just the right flavor and texture to edge out the Juice Joint breakfast burrito. And because I stopped at both places, I got to grab green salsa from Juice Joint to try on the Marhabah burrito. It was good, but this burrito honestly didn't need it. For comparison, I probably wouldn't ever opt to have the Juice Joint burrito without salsa. My verdict is that the Marhabah breakfast burrito is superior to my long-time favorite from Juice Joint. Still, I'll probably alternate just to have variety, but this one is the clear winner. You get more bang for your buck and it's a little bit tastier, too. I'm looking forward to trying their lunch items next! One last thing to add: they did update their menu screens since my last visit, but it looks like one of the TV's screens are already going out. Their screens also didn't show the breakfast menu. I'm not sure why, but I had to ask an employee to verify they still had the breakfast options. Just an FYI to the business and to any visitors.

I was immediately greeted by chef Elmy and his staff. I ordered a gyro to go as I knew my wife would want to try as well. Luckily the bike I was riding had a basket. Chef Elmy told me which plate to keep on top and instructed me to be careful with the food on my ride home. "Yes sir". I got home and present the plates to my wife. She removed the foil unveiling two colorful delicious looking plates of food. We were both glowing. One was the gyro I had ordered and the other was a mix of some of the most delicious beans I have ever had along with a salad, a roasted pepper and pickled vegetables. The portions were huge, but more importantly delicious. Food like this could only be made by someone who loves feeding people which I believe Chef Elmy does.
