New Middle Eastern spot in Oakland. Very nice and friendly staff, very clean and fast service. The food is very tasty with all the sauces and condiments you can get on the side to add to taste. You can tell the freshness of the food even though it comes out fast. Also first time I've had middle eastern food in a bowl style. They are very creative with the baklava and other desserts you have to try out the desserts The prices also are amazing for what you get.

Big Wrap

Driven by the place a good amount, place has a build your own menu, a bit confusing the first time but after that one time you get the hang of it. I ordered a chicken wrap, For the price the wrap is huge. Service is cool, if you on a budget this place is very reasonable. The wrap is good! Definitely worth another visit

Heard about this spot from a few people, had to stop by today for lunch. Friendly lady who greeted me and explained their menu. I decided to get the diced lamb over rice. Flavorful and tender. Asked for some hot sauce and it was a compliment. Next time, I will try the lamb shank and perhaps a wrap. They also have deserts that aren't too sweet. Yum! Over all, clean, good service and tasty food. #SOLitFood

Lamb Shank Rice Bowl

This is probably my new favorite spot in this area of the lake. I recommend passing by if youre in the area. Ive been here a handful of times but from what I got today, I was compelled to let the Yelposphere know how great of a deal you get. I ordered their Rice Bowl with Lamb Shank as the protein. A whole lamb shank, still on the bone. The shank is tender and my to go box was so full the lid wasnt able to be closed all the way. The food is delicious and they have a variety of desserts to choose from. For what you pay, this is one of the best deals around. The staff is friendly and theres inside seating if you have time to sit and eat. If you work in the area, let them know.

Great new spot! This restaurant is Cava/Chipotle style of ordering which I really liked! The food was flavorful, the portions were good, and the service/ambiance was awesome. Since this place just opened last week, they have a free drink with my order. I had a lot of questions and the works were super kind and explained what each of the food/desserts were. Speaking of desserts, I cannot stop thinking of how delicious they were! Definitely check this place out if you are in the area.

You'lo got to try their food (delicious) and I also got myself some treat "BASBOUSA"

Falafel wrap

Delicious wraps that are fairly priced and generously portioned! We tried the steak wrap and falafel wrap and are pretty thrilled. The steak is flavorful and differs from other halal or shawarma offerings in the area. The crinkle cut fries smelled amazing, were seasoned just about perfectly and made fresh to order. Everything is authentic tasting and honestly pretty healthy feeling going down. The service was fast, helpful and very kind. They have a whole host of desserts to try. I am very happy to have this new option in the area, especially considering they are open til Midnight and 7 days a week!

New quick serve restaurant for dine in and take out. Food was delicious, flavorful and the portions are very generous for the price. Service was very friendly and attentive. Same concept as Chipotle for reference but with Middle Eastern cuisine and family run not big corporate. Lots of options for main meals, sides, and desserts.

Taste old. Ruined my craving for baklava ugh. Cant believe I have to keep typing just to post my review. But i wont be ordering from here ever. Should've just ordered from where I normally order my baklava on telegraph from the Middle Eastern place.

Abu Yemen was the highlight of my day. I ordered the lamb bowl, and the lamb was incredibly tender and cooked really good. The portion size and price are unbeatable in the area, especially considering the quality and quick service. If you're busy and need a delicious, filling meal on the go, this is the spot for you. You can customize your bowl however you like, whether vegan, vegetarian, or with meat. Omar and his brother, who run the shop, along with the rest of the staff, were extremely hospitable, making you feel right at home. I highly recommend checking it out. You'll definitely be seeing me here again. ~ For catering needs, from small to big events or even for your office or company, inquire with them. ~

We ordered a mini lamb wrap, mini chicken wrap, rose tamarind drink and mint lemonade. The lamb was gristly and dry, so I preferred the chicken wrap, but was disappointed to find that it featured only chicken (well-seasoned and juicy) and did not have any tomatoes, cucumbers, or other vegetables like the lamb wrap did. The chicken wrap was only chicken and lavash. Perhaps it was an oversight on the staff's part, even though the restaurant was not busy during a Friday lunch. And it also still took some time to get our orders out even though we were the only ones in line and there were only two other parties eating there. Maybe there were tons of to-go orders they had to fulfill? I'll be sure to check out the Santa Clara location as well in the future, but for this luncheon, we had to temper our disappointment by going around the corner to get some Gregory's.

They accommodated a last minute reschedule - which, let's be honest, in today's day and age is like finding a gold mine. Second. Did I mention food that is served in heaven? A group of five of us went to dinner and we ordered almost every vegetarian dish on the menu. The olives (which came out juicy and warm), the trio of dips and the flatbread (that melted us all), that charred lettuce with a rich nutty dressing, the burrata with kiwis, oh and oh, that cauliflower. Be still, my beating heart. That food, which clearly was meant for gods and accidentally made it to our table. The shakshouka and the couscous entrees following closely behind in rich glory with that delectable cornbread that showed up straight from the oven. I am not exaggerating, dear reader, each bite of food was a gastronomic delight. We wrapped the evening with a date cake that came topped with a rich vanilla ice cream and toasted pecans and the subtle competition of the warm cake and the cold ice cream on our palates made for a perfect culmination to our dinner. And third. The person mixing the drinks back at the bar knows his business well. The mocktails and the cocktails were brilliantly refreshing. The tamarinds and the citrus looking out from the glasses wide eyed, ready to amaze. Good food is one of the few untainted pleasures of humanity. And Aziza served us heaps of it. Do yourself a favor and go savor the flavors Aziza has to offer. You shall not be disappointed.

The service, unfortunately, was quite slow -- we waited about an hour and fifteen minutes for our food, which made the evening feel longer than expected. I also hoped for more authenticity in the ambiance. Even small touches, like traditional Arabic or Moroccan music, could have helped create a warmer cultural atmosphere. Overall, there is definitely creativity and potential here, especially if you enjoy chefs adding their own twist to classic dishes. Hoping the restaurant continues refining both the dining experience and the service.

The 5 course is the perfect share for 2 and I highly recommend the shrimp kabab though my friends all say the lamb is the best. The atmosphere is so fun and the belly dancing is so much fun they really incorporate the audience. Everything is perfectly cooked and honestly some of the best Moroccan food I've had. Go here!!! The negative reviews are seriously missing out. The service doesn't have the same flow as other restaurants, but that's by design, they want you to relax and enjoy your time there if you want things done more quickly you just have to ask and they are happy and quick to accommodate. The whole space felt so authentic and immersive. I found $18 parking a little down the street at a nearby hotel (as long as you leave before midnight), which worked out perfectly. We ordered a few things to share--the hummus was really good, and the salad with lemon was super fresh and light. The kebabs were also delicious, though I didn't eat too many since I was in a nice dress and the tables were more Moroccan-style--low with bowls rather than full tables--so it wasn't the easiest to cut the meat. The atmosphere was lively and fun, with groups of people and even private rooms around the space. I was surprised it wasn't more crowded, but my friend stayed later and said it picked up as the night went on--they even had karaoke at one point! There was also a belly dancer, which added to the vibe, though I think having a more professional performer who connects better with the music would really elevate the experience. The hookah was a nice touch too--they give you your own tip so you're not sharing, and even though I don't normally do hookah, it just felt right for the setting. Overall, the food was great, the ambience was beautiful, and the crowd was good energy. I'd highly recommend this spot for a group event, a social night out, or even a fun date--it's definitely an experience you won't forget!

Because I'm pescatarian, The Wife graciously agreed to a veggie bastilla, instead of chicken. We expected the same thing, just without chicken; so egg and nuts. Nope - neither were present. But there was a lot of carrots. There was also a carrot salad, and carrots on the side of my main dish. The salad course was superb. The aforementioned carrot salad, plus a cucumber salad, and an amazing eggplant salad that I kept scooping up in my pita. I had the Moroccan seafood platter, with shrimp and scallops, both very well cooked. The Wife had the chicken kabob, and was very happy. At the end, we had baklava with stylishly poured mint tea. The show is almost as important as the meal. Speaking of which, we were there for the belly dancer Jennifer, and she was excellent. She started with a lit skirt, then came back twice, once with a curved sword on her head and another just alone. Beautiful and friendly, dancing briefly with a gentleman from one party, and for a while with a younger girl from another large family. So sweet.
