Ate here twice. First time very good but 2nd time all food came out cold including the soup.

We weren't quite sure what to expect from this restaurant when we decided to go there. What we didn't expect was to be blown away by such a nice place! My wife and I took my in-law's here for dinner and had a great experience. It's an open style kitchen and we were seated right in front. As each dish was prepared, we saw it waiting to be served and each one looked better than the last. The cocktail and wine menu is extensive with many interesting choices. I went with the Hazify IPA. This went well with my entree of Mango BBQ Ribs. I don't generally order ribs, but these were outstanding! Other entrees at our table included Chicken Caprese, Fish & Chips, and the NY strip steak. We all loved our meals. This restaurant was more high end than what we expected walking in, but the quality of the food was worth it. If you're in Parrish looking for a good meal, give Oar & Iron a shot! read more

A new restaurant to try for us. The overall experience left us disenchanted. The pricing of the drinks / food given the area was exhorbitant. Wait staff were very friendly and the decor was fine. We ordered two drinks, a Gin and Tonic and a Rum and Coke. After a while of pondering the menu, our drinks arrived and we ordered the Steak Tips and Blackened Mahi-Mahi, and two wedge salads. The salads arrived a short while later and were large and tasty. Our meals arrived, the steak tips were fine, but my Mahi-mahi was anything but fresh. It had an extremely bad taste. I flagged down our server and indicated that it was not edible. She asked if I would like to order something else, I said yes, I would have the Steak tips. 15 minutes later, our server swung by and indicated that there were several tickets still in front of my meal. 5 minutes later (my wife had finished her meal) the Manager came by, provided my new meal and indicated he was sorry and would comp a dessert. The total for the bill was $140 not including gratuity. Other restaurants provide much better return for our money. It will be a very long time if ever before we attempt another visit. read more

Travelled north about an hour to visit friends who live in the area and decided we'd check out this new place. We made reservations, and they definitely were on top of that. We were seated immediately. Looking good so far. It was a very busy and noisy place. Do not expect an upscale, quiet evening. It's ok, Saturday night, party on! However, when ordering the pork, our lifelong meat guru friend (retired (40 years) from the meat industry) made it perfectly clear he didn't like his pork overcooked. Please, please don't overcook my pork! Medium rare at most. It came very much dry and grey, no pink at all. I ordered the red snapper, it was also overcooked with a crunchy outer layer. I hardly ate any. My partner ordered steak and ate every bit, very satisfied. The last of our party ordered the scallops and risotto. The scallops were good, but the risotto much like a lazy cook would make at home and tasted more like rice with heavy chicken broth. Service was friendly, but scattered and inattentive due probably to the uproar that seemed normal. We thought our service was haphazard, so trying to excuse the server since he was new, we found out he'd been serving for four months. For a dinner for four and a $360 bill (not including tip), we weren't impressed. We won't be back anytime soon. read more

My husband and I stopped in on a whim and sat at the bar during happy hour, and we were pleasantly surprised. As we approached this brand-new restaurant in our area, the outdoor seating immediately caught our attention. Walking through the front door really sealed the deal--the lighting, layout, and overall design are beautiful and thoughtfully done. The bar is large and perfectly positioned near the open doors, creating a great flow while still separating the different seating areas. I especially liked that some sections feel more intimate, while there's also a dedicated room for large parties. The restrooms were clean, well-maintained, and nicely lit--always appreciated. I ordered a vodka soda during happy hour, and my husband had the Oar & Iron lager. I'm not a fan of the New Amsterdam vodka they use as their house option--honestly, it's one of the worst vodkas I've tasted, in my opinion. I also tried the house Chardonnay and I'm not a fan of that either. I switched to a cucumber-based drink made with Tito's, and Jahn did a fantastic job with it. I guess you could say I will not be going to The Oar & Iron to grab drinks on happy hour. We ordered the crab cake sliders and calamari. I removed the bun from my slider; the crab cake could have used a bit more aïoli, as there was very little, but the flavor was still good. The calamari was delicious and perfectly cooked, though I would've liked a slightly larger portion and a few more peppers--it felt a bit stingy for the price. Our bartenders, Jahn and Megan, were friendly, professional, and informative, which really added to the experience. I stopped in again the next day and tried the pepperoni flatbread, which was also very tasty. During this first visit, I went ahead and made reservations for Christmas Eve. I'll be writing a second review for that visit, as it was a much larger party. read more

Another new restaurant to serve a quickly growing area of Parrish. Very nicely laid out inside and large outdoor patio seating. Big parking lot as well where it shares space with Kelly's Roast Beef. Great combination of booths, tables, high tops and a large very well maintained bar. The lunch menu offers quite a few good choices and a nice raw bar selection. We'll need to visit at dinner since the menu expands. Our server was good and attentive but signing up with loyalty app we were gifted a dessert we never were asked about when we completed our meal. The Brie and Pear flat bread pizza was very good as was the tomato soup and sandwich combo. The ahi tuna also well done but the grouper tacos which were highly recommended were somewhat of a disappointment. While the grouper was done well the tortillas were very bland and tasted old for some reason. The tacos themselves lacked ant real flavor and would have benefited from some hot sauce or pico. They were also served on a bed of sticky rice which was unusual. read more

Came here last night and enjoyed our meal. We had the octopus, 7 layer dip, and the shortrib burgers. The food was incredible. We had various cocktails and they were unique, made with care, and used fresh ingredients. Our server was awesome. It's a very nice place with both indoor and outdoor seating. It's very comfortable with a large central bar. The decor is a little more modern for my taste but that's in me, not them. We will be back here many more times. read more

1st time at Oar & Iron. I was impressed by the decor. Modern and cozy atmosphere. We came for lunch & both of us ordered the Signature Salad with Grilled Shrimp. The amount of shrimp added was impressive. The seasoning on the shrimp was delicious and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. The salad greens were fresh & crisp. The portion of pears & goat cheese was spot on. The poppyseed dressing was plentiful for me. My friend said it was too heavy for her & will get it on the side next time. Unfortunately we had to mention to our server that our salads were missing the Butternut Squash & asked for it to be added. Our server informed us they were out of the squash. This should had been mentioned to us at the time of ordering the salad, not after we questioned it. Our meal was delicious. Our server was delightful & attentive. We will be back. read more

Enjoyed happy hour & a nice dinner here with a large group. B at the bar was fantastic! Friendly, helpful, made great drinks & told us about the loyalty program which we signed up for! Happy hour is Mon-Fri which includes great drink specials as well as bar bites. After enjoying our drinks, we made our way to our large table of 15 ladies. The waitresses did a fantastic job in taking our order & ensuring we got the right dish, etc. We all needed separate checks which is a real pain for the waitress but she did a nice job in serving our table. Atmosphere is very nice & spacious with a very large bar that is attached to a lovely outdoor area. Plenty of parking! A little pricey for the area is my only complaint. read more

Everything fresh, made to order and most items made from scratch. Everyone was staying busy and helping to prepare and serve your meal. You could tell they had a good routine and the employees seemed to enjoy what they were doing as well. Food was delicious and well presented. I went to Oar & Iron recently with a group of 8 people. We had a reservation, so we were seated immediately by a very pleasant hostess. Our server came over right away and went through the menu highlights, listed her favorites and was very honest about some of the dishes- I sort of wish I had listened better to her. The server told us that the menu is filled with fresh ingredients, mostly gluten free items, etc. and she knew something about every dish. She said her favorites were the short rib gnocchi and the salmon (I think). She told us that some dishes were not her favorites, like the scallops, because the portion was small. We all ordered different things and everyone was happy with our meals, although the server was absolutely correct about the scallops, which I ordered. because she warned me that the portion was "like 3 scallops" and she was spot on, there were literally 3 small scallops on my plate, and although they were cooked perfectly, they were very salty, and I like salt. The risotto that accompanied the dish was good, and I ordered a small side of honey buttered sprouts, which were good, but could have used a little more sauce. My wife had a caesar salad that she enjoyed, and it was unique as it had banana chips, and tomatoes in it which we had not seen before but it was really good. My friends had the chicken caprese (really good), the steak frites, also good and served with plenty of fries, and the mussels, which were terrific, again, kudos to our server for her call on the mussels. We enjoyed our visit to the restaurant, it is spacious and has a nice patio to dine on, a "private" room, and the main dining room. The service was great and we will definitely be back. read more

My wife saw this restaurant on IG or FB and wanted to give it a try. Very nice space, but was a bit surprised by the menu and prices. I understand that everything is expensive and restaurants need a profit. As i perused the menu, I saw the stupid $2 water service charge. Food was ok, nothing special. I had steak frites, was just ok, can easily cook that at home. My wife had a salad, which was really just a pile of lettuce with not much else. Son had the Grouper Sandwich, which was fine. For this price point hit Seasons 52. No compelling reason to return was a $145 dollar meh meal for 3. read more

The ambiance is very nice! The team was most pleasant and attentive. The old fashioneds were delicious. The prime rib was very disappointing...it was medium rare as requested, however, it appeared to be a slice from a pre-cooked restaurant supply roast. It was not warmed enough, the fat was white, as it would be from a cold piece of meat. What should be a roasted exterior was soggy. We both ordered the same queen cut but my partner's was much thinner than mine. The oysters were very very tiny. It's unfortunate, on one hand it appears they have a good formula but the execution with the food was such that we will likely not return. read more

I attended a sales event here on April 6, 2026, with a group of about 25 people. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. Despite being part of the scheduled group, my wife and I were served last after a significant delay. To make matters worse, our portions were roughly half the size of what the other guests received. The food quality was also lacking; the noodles consisted mostly of small, broken segments, and the green beans were discolored and yellow. It was clear that professionalism was missing in the kitchen that night. We had a very poor experience and would not recommend this venue for group events read more

The food was not good . I was so disappointed. Roasted brussel sprouts were flavorless. Served hamburger that had two tiny shred of onion on it. We weren't offered any condiments. Not the waitresses fault because apparently they had people call out but it wasn't very busy. t I order a $16 Caesar salad for lunch and asked for it with the dressing on the side and chicken. It came soaked in dressing. They quickly fixed it . When I received the bill, they had charged me $26 for the salad because of the chicken. It wasn't even a full breast so I felt that was a bit excessive for adding it. Wasn't impressed by the menu options but apparently they have a limited one for lunch. We were able to get a reservation quickly, our daughter had the Salmon meal and loved it so much she went back the next day with her husband and his parents. I had steak frittes and the flavor was amazing. My husband got a grouper sandwich but did not want it fried so they blackened it for him. Everything was flavored well. Maybe because I had such high expectations for this new restaurant in Parrish. The ambiance and decor is very nice. We went for lunch and sat on the patio was very comfortable. It was 3 PM and the restaurant was almost empty. Our waitress was very helpful. We started with the calamari which was just ok. The Fish and Chips and chicken dish were ok For signing up to their loyalty program we were offered a free desert. Which we selected the banana foster, which I would suggest you pass on. Lunch for two was well over $100. Upon paying the bill we noticed they had a social hour with many good and reasonable priced items which no one mentioned or offered to us. I discussed these comments with the Manager Marty. Asked us to give them another chance. At this point I'm not sure we will be back with so many in my opinion better choices read more

Our waitress was fantastic and refilled our drinks multiple times- very attentive. I think this place is worth it for social hour. This location recently opened and it was our first time trying it for after-church lunch. The restaurant was not busy. Service was great. Our waitress was friendly and professional with a cheerful personality. Portions were huge and the food was good, but not amazing. The decaf coffee was robust and my husband liked the sweet tea. We tried the Brie and pear flatbread with hot honey. We would recommend this - definitely enough for 4 to 6 people. Bread service is extra and comes with jalapeño cornbread mini muffins, rye rolls (not a strong flavor) and bread with compound butter and berry jam with whole blueberries in it. My favorite was the muffins. I tried the sirloin steak tips which tasted good but seemed more like steak frites steak than the tips I expected. The sprouts were good - I did ask for them extra crispy. The garlic mashed potatoes seemed a little thin to me like they made them with water instead of cream so they could be vegan? My husband tried the grouper and clam risotto. He enjoyed it but had missed that there was bacon in the risotto and thought it was too chewy. read more
